1 /5 Barbara Sidelnik: I scheduled an appointment for a service. Maybe I wasn’t clear but I express to them that I needed a full service and wanted them to check everything to make sure my car was safe. I had an estimate of 1.5 hours. I checked periodically during the service to see if there was any concerns because I assumed some work on tires or alignment would be needed. I don’t know about cars. I explicitly mentioned needing new windshield wipers. I tried to come up with all the things one would need checked in my lack of knowledge. They kept telling me nothing was needed. By the time 1.5 hours passed I asked for a new time estimate and they told me they were waiting on the oil filter I asked for. I just said okay to synthetic because I don’t know what that means so when they said “do you want synthetic?” I said sure. So it was miscommunication perhaps that I was requesting a specific oil. After two hours passed and I canceled my appointments for the day, they checked me out and said none of the requested services had been performed. They said it was because I was in a hurry. I was only in a hurry because I made plans according to the time estimate they provided. At no point did they communicate that I needed new tires, that they did not perform the alignment check, that they didn’t even catch something as simple as worn out windshield wipers. The front desk was very apologetic and called another place to service me today. Now my entire day is wasted, I am spending double the amount of money to have additional services done elsewhere. I was not offered a discount or anything despite the apologetic response. I scrambled to ask for all the things I have heard about cars that would need checking but I just lack the knowledge. The new place is now talking about a suspension. Long story short, I set out time of my day for this, I canceled all appointments, I needed this done today because I am driving long distance next week. None of it was done and after I left my car was making a weird scraping noise. I feel like my car is in worse condition than when I left it or at least I have no idea what was even done or what my car needs now. I would not recommend you schedule here if you lack knowledge of vehicles and you need a full inspection for vehicle safety.
