5 /5 Debera: Dr Bervin has been my spine surgeon since 2003. He gave me back my life then and he did so another time in 2013. He greeted us very warmly and we discussed my current issues, fortunately not anything that requires surgery. He was very interested in how I had been and took time with us to truly consider what was going on currently. He then recommended physical therapy and also gave me the great news that there was no failure in my spine. I told him he was my third favorite savior, with God being first and my husband being second.

I also, find his staff to be very helpful & caring. Having spine surgery is never wanted, but I am so glad Dr. Berven is my surgeon.

5 /5 Lori: Dr. Berven is curious, detailed, smart and engaging. He took me along with him in educating me on what was going on with my spine. It was not a one way conversation. I feel confident in his plan. An appointment with him felt like I was back in college and having a professor teach me about my spine’s condition. I am informed and can articulate to my family what is going on. This is unique in my experience as I am usually left clueless or in the dark by other surgeons I have interacted with. Great deformity doc. I was also impressed with how technologically advanced UCSF is. I traveled to see him from middle America so the doctor’s office’s I have interacted with local to me are so archaic like a dos paper system or something. Everything is patient friendly and easy to access and straightforward, I guess that is to be expected in San Francisco but in middle America I have not experienced that.

5 /5 cminca: Dr Berven literally changed my life. After 3 years I can stand up straight after he removed, redesigned and rebuilt the previously installed work of two other surgeons. I cannot thank him enough. If you have spine issues hobble as quickly as you can. If there is a chance you will ever run again he’s the surgeon that could do it.
