5 /5 Erick: I humbly implore this parishs dear priests to reconsider hearing confessions at their regular days and times. There are signs on the doors that confessions are not being heard, and upon clarifying with the parish office, confessions are indeed not being heard "until after Easter." I believe the office worker meant Easter Sunday, not the octave or the season of Easter. I understand there are penance "services" throughout the vicariate, however, we are in the holy season of Lent when reconciliation is needed to prepare the faithful in worthy reception of Holy Communion this Eastertide. We need our priests more than ever at these times and there are so many souls who are in mortal sin, some who may die today. For those who found themselves in my miserable state, Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert is still hearing regular confessions. Sacred Heart parish may have the resources, including supply priests willing to hear confessions multiple days of the week. Fathers, we will obey, but please reconsider for this Friday and penitential seasons to come.
