Treasure Hunt: The Ride - Monterey (CA)

A R Cypress Grove is one of the most beautiful hikes that I have ever stepped foot on. The hike is a short loop and gives some of the most memorable views of the Pacific Ocean and coastline that you will ever see! Make sure to bring a great camera.

Uday Ramesh I visited recently and loved the long stretch of soft sand, clean surroundings, and gentle waves. Its a great beach for families, couples, or anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature. The water was clear, and the view of the ocean was just stunning. Many people were enjoying the waves, flying kites, or just laying under beach tents. The nearby boardwalk and marina filled with boats added charm to the scenery and made it feel vibrant. It’s less crowded than some other Monterey beaches, which makes it perfect for a quiet picnic, beach walk, or even photography. There are restrooms and parking nearby, which adds to the convenience. Overall, it’s a must-visit if youre in the Monterey area — relaxing, scenic, and perfect for making beach day memories.

Nicholas Shake McAbee Beach is a nice little beach in Cannery Row thats main purpose is for tourists to be able to take a short walk down the beach without all the hassle of a traditional sized beach. Im sure it has some historic reason for being there and having it stay the way it was since back in the day, but it serves its purpose well. No waves and a safe place to put your feet in the water without getting swept away. Sometimes there are little seashells and sometimes there are other cool things that washup on shore. This is the same beach where John Denver crashed his plane in 1997 just a little south of this beach (if you dont know who John Denver is, your parents are terrible people).

Julie Paxman Took my 3 1/2 year old in the ride along with friends from out of town. Very interactive and fun! I really appreciate that you can ride again and again. Definitely get the gold token upgrade! The ride operators are very kind. We will be going next time were in town.

Courtney Walsh Such a beautiful historic church. The grotto and surrounding prayer gardens were so awesome. We were able to enter for a daily rosary. Highly recommend this outing if youre visiting.

Jin Huh This is my favorite beach in Pacific grove and Monterey. It is so beautiful and peaceful. I love walking the little coast trail with my dog in the morning. You can sometimes see otters swimming around if you get lucky.

Marianna Gleyzer Oh my gosh, what an amazing gem for little kids! Our toddler was so in love, we had to get the membership. We now go every week on Wednesday, they do a special gymnastics class with the marvelous Miss Shae, such fun! Shae is a gem, and so precious that we get to do gymnastics with her at our most favorite museum. Just wonderful all around ❤️!

Ron Clonts A large outdoor space with plenty of room for parties at picnic tables, grilling at the BBQ pits, or walking, cycling, or team sports. There are multiple parking areas and easy access on paved sidewalks or ramps. Two playgrounds are on both sides of the lake. The only place to avoid is the creek running south as there is lots of trash in the grass.

Chris Torres Thom is an amazing guide who took us around the equally amazing Monterey. I was blown away by how beautiful the place was. Thom clearly loved the area and his knowledge was incredible. He delivers the tour in a way that is entertaining whilst being educational. I highly recommend you ask Thom to take you around Monterey when you visit. You will not be disappointed.
