Lorena H This has been the family college for almost 25 years. It was like a second home to me. I used to take my child with me to classes since she was 2 1/2 y/o... definitely this is not typical. In general is a pretty good school. I whish they had more help for people with disabilities. The Counselors are nice, but the resources are not the best. Some areas could have better light, such as the area of the gym and the driveway that runs between the PAC and the entrance if the stadium by H street.

Marianne Cleveland Tour of the new Southwestern College Botanical Garden with horticulturist Paul Redeker was informative and delightful with springtime blooms. The brand new classrooms are state of the art and interacting with floral design teacher and students provided added interaction and interest. Peaceful setting for students and community members to align with nature.

Scm I’m extremely frustrated with National University and how poorly they’ve handled my state aid situation. I’ve been an alumni since 2021, and it’s crazy to think that even after completing my program, I’m still dealing with these issues months later. What makes it worse is the complete lack of communication , no one updates you unless you constantly reach out, and even then, the answers are vague, delayed, or completely unhelpful. This has never been a problem during my time as a student, so it’s disappointing to see how things have fallen apart post-graduation. I expected more support, especially after committing so much time and money to this school. It’s unacceptable that something that should be straightforward is being dragged out for months with no real progress. National University really needs to do better for their current students and alumni. The lack of organization, communication, and accountability is beyond frustrating.

Samuel F Great program! I have done 2 courses with this program and have had a great experience so far! The teachers are very involved, fair, and helpful with all your needs. I was able to access the course within a few hours of enrollment. The teachers make sure you dont fall behind, and you work more or less at your own pace. Its a lot of effort to put in, but its totally worth it if you want to get ahead in your classes. The courses are very well structured with enough assignments so you understand the material, and regular tests and quizzes help monitor you progress. Everything is done online and in the comfort of your own home, including the final exam.

Sylvia Christensen What a great opportunity for my son!. My son needed to take some additional courses over the summer and we were told of NUVHS. The school was very prompt in helping us through the enrollment process and making sure we were able to sign up for the right course. The teacher was great! Always provided good feedback and was available for questions and helping my son complete the assignments. The course was very rigorous, even more so then his regular school. He worked hard, and enjoyed the experience. We are signing up again for more classes. A great find!

Chris Markus My experience with Laurus College has been nothing short of a nightmare. The misleading and unethical practices by the staff, coupled with the administration’s complete disregard for resolving serious issues, have left me feeling deceived and exploited. It all started in April 2024 when I spoke with Reesa Rosure, an Admissions Representative, who pressured me into enrolling. She made an incredibly unethical comment, suggesting I should “just enjoy my retirement by collecting veteran’s BAH” instead of focusing on my education. To push someone to prioritize collecting benefits over actual learning is beyond unprofessional—it’s insulting, especially to veterans trying to better themselves through education. But it didn’t stop there. After enrolling, I found out from Liz Gutierrez, a Student Advocate, that I was supposedly in an Associate of Science in Information Technology program, even though I had enrolled in the Bachelor’s in Information Technology Systems Management. When I tried to switch to a program better suited to my goals, Liz falsely claimed I couldn’t because of “lack of funding”—the same funding they were more than willing to enroll me with in the first place! It’s clear that they were trying to confuse and mislead me from the start. Worse still, when I emailed the school’s registrar, administration, and student services on October 2, 2024, asking to pause all classes until these issues were resolved, I was met with total silence. No one bothered to reply. It’s like they decided to bury the issue and hope I’d just let it go. Then, to top it off, they scheduled me for another class on October 7, 2024, without my approval! At this point, it became crystal clear that Laurus College’s real objective was to squeeze every last penny from my veteran’s benefits while they still could. This school does not care about its students—they care about draining your funding. If you’re a veteran, or anyone relying on financial assistance, stay far away from Laurus College. They will mislead you, overcharge you, and leave you without the support they claim to offer.
