deseree borden Great school, great teachers. I was a miscreant as a teenager and very much opposed the institution of education, but Shasta, their staff, and their teachers, have helped me fall in love with being a student over the two years Ive been attending and completing prerequisites for the dental hygiene program. I wish I could get paid to be a student forever. Keep it up Shasta! Also the library is coming along beautifully and I love all the new landscaping upgrades that have recently been implemented. The on-campus Starbucks and the online ordering for said Starbucks, as well as online ordering of yummy cafeteria food is a huge bonus, too. The leaening resources and attitudes of all, make Shasta extremely conducive to learning. I believe this place runs like a well-oiled machine, and is a beautiful and stimulating environment!

Bucky 1 Trying to access my account has become virtually impossible. It has been a couple years since I took a class, so I needed wanted to take a class to re-certify. The problem is that to log in I need to know how they set up an email for me to use that email name to provide to make access to retrieve my account. Shasta College has made it so impossible to access my account. I don’t know why or how they’re still in business.

Molten Green This school is amazing! They know my haircut (from the 80s) a Gypsy Shag and they do a great job. The gentleman who runs the school has been licensed since his teens. They exude courtesy and respect! The Shasta School of Cosmetology is truly one of Reddings hidden gems!!

Andrea Geremia It was not a pleasant experience for me. I made an appointment for root touch-up only. Three and a half hours later I left with completely different colored hair and my grays still showing all around my face. It was my girls first dye job ever, according to her, but her inductor never came back even once to check on her work. I was not consulted at all about the change of plans to go from root touch-up to all-over new hair color. Every step took soooooooo looooonggg. The only time I saw her instructor again was when it came time to pay and she (Sailor) literally snatched my debit card from my hand. It was so weirdly aggressive. My time and dignity are worth way more than the amount of money I "saved while coming here. I will not go back.

Rachelle Price Unfortunately this experience was with two rude students, one of which was my apathetic/passive aggressive stylist. My typical experience here with students is positive. I like supporting them and enjoy interacting with them, even if they are struggling. I’ve been in education myself so I understand the teaching environment. This whole experience was another story, which is why I took The time to share it. I made an appointment for a haircut and style (just needed a trim and blow dry). When I came in I made sure that’s what they had on the schedule as I’ve had problems before with them mistaking what I’m there for or charging incorrectly. I was immediately told by the student at the front desk rudely “we close in 1.5 hours so we can’t guarantee you’ll get a style.” I’m not sure why I was offered that time slot on the phone then when that’s clearly what I made the appointment for. When I talked to the supervisor he said they never guarantee styles this close to closing. I suggested maybe they schedule the appointment earlier next time as this is half the reason I was there. The girl cutting my hair argued with me Saying she already had a client earlier (she didn’t understand what I was saying). I almost rescheduled. And I should have just left. Before cutting my hair, the student did not take time to listen when she asked what I wanted for a haircut. She cut me off multiple times while I explained a simple cut. She didn’t ask where to part my hair, which I didn’t realize until it was too late. She pulled the collar so tight I could hardly breathe and when I asked if it could be loosed she argued with me twice, continuously pulling it to somehow proved that It couldn’t be done. It had several snap options and (I’ve never had an issue with this before). eventually I just gave up on trying as I was tired of arguing before we even started. She was so rough and yanked on my hair multiple times. when my hand was in my hair explaining something she touched it With the curling iron. She didn’t have anything but a small barrel curling iron to Style (usually a brush and blow dry is all I need) and so had no clue how to style. Despite my trying to help (she’s a student), She kept recurling back and forth directions so it was all weird and kinky. No curls were even recognizable. The student next to her tried to help by asking if her curling iron was on still. It was.My hair is naturally curly and is so easy to curl and style. But She was so apathetic, rude and kept telling me I was done after only curling half of it. My hair is thin and there was still 45 minutes before close so there was no need to rush me out. It looked terrible when I left. I went home and just completely straightened It. I did privately share my experience with the supervisor and he made no Effort to rectify it but said “he’d let her know”.

Roy Smith 1st. It is mandatory that you live on campus unless you’re over 24 years old, or are married. Get ready to spend $10,000 on that. Every semester. 2nd. Have an issue with your dorm life/situation? Too bad! You’ll just have to get over it :) I didn’t have a light in my bathroom for 2 weeks! (And maintenance filed that the light was fixed) 3rd. Do you have any possible questions about the financial aspects of the institution? Good thing no one on campus will answer them! In fact there is a student that answers the phones and I am nearly positive that they tell her her job is to inform the caller that no one is available. They are known to wrongfully up charge students, and even charge them for housing when they live off campus. The money is taken from your loans immediately but have fun trying to get it back!

surls mia Went here 15 years ago and studied English. I loved my life at Simpson, the English Department (gone now except for one professor) and the spiritual growth as well as the community and was happy to drive my sister down to attend 15 years later. The campus is showing age in some areas. The dorms needed to be repainted in the actual rooms and outside, the walls were beat up, but the feel is the same. Everyone is friendly, it feels safe, the classrooms appear well kept, the grounds are beautiful. I do wish my department remained. Honestly, I wouldnt have gone there if they hadnt had English 15 years ago. Probably would have went to Masters instead. Im glad they had it back then and I got a quality, well rounded education with multiple view points in Literary Theory, which I havent seen in my friends that were English majors from public colleges and universities.
