Ellie I went to Art & Chemistry to Nancy, in the My Salon suites. I showed her photos of how I wanted my cut. I told her to take 2" off. I told her I wanted the back to be the same length as the sides. She took off about 5" in the back & 3 - 4 inches on the sides. Now, its like a short bob & the sides dont blend with the back. Now, I have to wait forever for it to grow out. She did NOT do what I asked for. It is way too short & not manageable at all!

Jeannie This place does not deserve ANY star, but it is the only way I could leave my experience! HORRIBLE Customer Service! This place came recommended by a good friend (whom I will be informing of the bad experience we had). I called, spoke to Holly and she made a 2pm appointment with Autumn for my frail, elderly (88y.o.) Mother. After waiting 15 min. I inquired if Autumn was running behind & Holly said yes & that she was just finishing applying color to another client & would be right with us. We WAITED 40 MINUTES! Autumn NEVER came out to address us or apologize for running so far behind. This is NOT acceptable service! At the very least Holly should have called & told us that Autumn was running very late, before we left the house. My Mother does not walk very well and it was exhausting to walk her in & then turn around and leave 40 minutes later! I WOULD NEVER EVER return or recommend this shop to anyone! KARMA! The "owner who responded to my review, is smoking crack & an out & out liar! I DID NOT DROP OFF MY MOTHER, I stayed the entire time. So there is another strike against you & your lousy salon, YOU ARE A LIAR! Sounds like you need a Jesus intervention!

Michelle Hyland Ive been delighted with Niki, the owner and nail technician, and Sheila who cuts and styles my hair at Tropical Trends. Also, there is plenty of convenient parking, and a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Ive tried a few places in town, but like them the best!

David Way WOW, what a fantastic group of stylists. I have never seen such a group of knowledgeable, enthusiastic employees in my life. Their pricing is more than fair and they make you feel so welcome as soon as you walk in the door. I was the only man in there but they assured me that they could get me in while the other ladies getting color were processing. True to their word, I was in and out quickly and they even shampooed my hair. That alone was worth the money, it was more like a 10 minute head and neck massage. My wife goes there all the time now too. She has long curly hair just like the manager Katie does so she loves her. She colors her hair every 6 weeks or so and the owner Nikki does her manicures and pedicures. We will never go anywhere else. I was shocked to see a negative review on here. I know they brought in all new talent recently and let the others go. Sounds like Connies review may be coming from a disgruntled former employee because we have had nothing but great experiences there. We cant wait for our hair to grow so we can go back.

Daphne B. Hair salon prices but Supercut style haircut. Super unsatisfied. I have curly hair and the person who did my hair did not know how to deal with it. I am tired of salons claiming they know about curly hair when they don’t. Was confident at first but that confidence died quickly once my hair dried and settled. The layers came out chunky and horrible. The product she used on my hair felt nice but killed my curls. I am not happy. At all. Would post pics but I’m super upset can’t even look in the mirror. If you have curly hair I DO NOT recommend this spot.

Ginny Milu New to the area and found Carlie’s to be a cozy place to be pampered! Callie is just wonderful! She’s very professional, attentive and personable. She did a great job, twice now, with my shoulder length layered blonde hair and truly listens as how I like it cut and styled. Highlights and low lights with root color to achieve a totally natural look. I came out of the salon with my hair so soft I just had to purchase the products that she used. Love the peacock decoration of the salon as well! Would recommend!

The very kind and able gentleman manning the last chair gave me a perfect bob haircut - actually a better cut than the bougie salon I went to before. Taking my husband in next! Highly recommend!

Herman Herman We got our sons first haircut here yesterday with Desiree (I hope I spelled that right). She was absolutely amazing with him and made the whole process very easy and fun for him. And even though he was a wiggle worm towards the end the haircut still came out fantastic. Thank you for such a great experience!

Chase Hagarty It was a nice barber shop, I went at about 10:00 and there was a fifteen minute wait time, they dont sweep the floors between customers which is fine but it gives it a slightly messy feel. Captain Bill himself gave me my haircut and Im pretty happy with it, he did a good job and was friendly. A normal mens haircut is 20$ which seems high but is okay compared to other places.

Tonzathome Captain Bill’s Barber Shop is the best place in Charlotte country to get a hair cut. Bill is a long time resident here and has been open for as long as I can remember… he cuts all our grand sons hair! Absolutely awesome experience! We love this place! Tonia & Chris Olsen

Amanda Canada We moved to Punta Gorda 2005 took my 2 sons there, and have never went any where else, by far the best Barbara’s and amazing people!! 2006 we had twins girls, although they didn’t have hair until they were 2, it finally started growing. And they finally got to get theirs cut, they had waited so long. We’ve had all Barbers and they all do a excellent job, but our favorite has always been Theresa!

Amber Hillman Tasha is the best! She gave me exactly what I wanted and explains everything thoroughly as she does it! I get so many compliments on my hair.

You can tell she really knows her stuff, and I love how she takes the time to explain things in a way that’s easy to understand. She always goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect, and she has a way of making you feel comfortable and taken care of. If you’re looking for someone who’s great at what they do and super easy to work with, I highly recommend Tasha!

Breanna Laurent BEWARE 100% MARK UP ON EXTENSIONS! I found Cassidy (salon owner) on IG. Her policy is clients need to pay her up front for the cost of the extensions for her to order them. I was told the cost for just the hair was $1800. I believed her. After paying her 2 weeks in advance she reached out the night before my appointment saying that my hair extensions were "lost in the mail". I asked her if she could reach out to the company to see if they could over night the hair because I had a baby announcement photoshoot and desperately needed my hair done. She then tells me this is the second package of my extensions that was lost and says my original order was also lost and the company already replaced the first order and there wasnt much she could do (making it seem like I was going to be out the $1800 and it wasnt her problem to deal with) I had to go back and forth with her for hours asking her to contact the company again and offering to pay for overnight shipping myself to get the extensions so I could get my hair done. I told her $1800 is a lot of money to just have tied up without a resolution. She came back making this problem about her saying "It affects her because she had the time blocked off and she will now have a loss of income before Christmas" Gross. After more back and forth she told me IBE agreed to send her another set, but asked if we could change my appointment time to later in the afternoon. When I showed up for my appointment she was 20 minutes behind from a client that was still in her chair (She booked a new client over my original appointment time after complaining to me about loss of income before Christmas because of my time slot) As annoyed as I was over the extensions and seeing someone in her chair for what was my original appointment time I tried to brush it off. During my appointment we were taking me from a dark red to a brunette with some lighter face framing highlights. I sent her photos of the look I was trying to achieve and asked if it was achievable. She told me with the extensions it was. I trusted her judgement. Long story short short after a 5+ hour appointment I was left with PINK SPOTS all over. I decided to not go back. About a month later I found a new stylist I felt was a good fit to do a color correction to get rid of the pink spots and fix the slippage of the extensions after only a few weeks. When the stylist removed the extension install that Cassidy did the stylist told me something about the number of wefts in my head wasnt adding up and asked if I had extra wefts left over. After talking to the stylist I found out that IBE sells their hair in packs of 3 wefts each. The cost of 3 packs of hair is $900. Cassidy lied and told me that the cost of the just the hair itself was $1800. This means she charged a (100% MARK UP) on the hair and pocketed it for herself. Not only that, but I didnt even have a full 3 packs of extensions in my head. 2 full wefts were missing meaning I didnt even get the full $900 worth of hair that I technically paid double for. I reached out to her to let her know I switched stylist that was working on a color correction from pink spots and explaining the hair extension situation and that this wasnt adding up and we needed to figure out a resolution (AKA REFUND $900 you stole). She argued with me that she couldnt believe a stylist would tell me wholesale pricing, she didnt use the full amount of the hair due to the integrity of my hair, she does 100% mark up on the hair to cover the "cost of her education" & then she tried to lie and say she custom colored the extensions (SHE DID NOT) IBE sells the extensions in those colors on their website. After going back and forth with her for hours her resolution was to tell me 1 weft has been "left on file" and I can pick up 1 extra weft from her salon. Technically for what I paid she would owe me 11 WEFTS! And why was the so called 1 weft not given to me previously or mentioned until now? There are plenty of salons in the area that dont charge 100% mark up on the extensions. This place does BAD BUSINESS!

Analise Vazquez I drive 45 mins to this location because a good hairstylist and atmosphere is worth it. Tasha has always listened to my wants and gives honest and creative feedback to achieve the look I’m seeking. She’s a joy to talk to while in the chair and I always leave feeling great. Atmosphere is a bonus. It’s fun to be there! I recommend to all of my friends.

Destiny Phan Katie did such an amazing job with my nails! I wanted matte black with a black cat and she delivered! Such a cute set. I can’t wait to come back for their other services because everyone at the salon was so friendly.

Nancy Cuffaro I have been going to Gianna’s for several years. Katie does my nails and she does an absolutely amazing job. People are always commenting on how beautiful my nails look. Also, Morgan recently started coloring and cutting my hair. I am very happy with how the color turned out and also love the style. It’s a pleasure doing business at Gianna’s Salin!

Bev G I would highly recommend this establishment! I was able to get an appointment the same day for a much needed haircut. The stylist, Zulema, was very friendly and did an awesome job on my hair. She is fairly new to this place. I wasn’t planning to get my nails done but I did, and I’m glad I did! They look so pretty and Kim was so nice, in fact everyone there is very friendly and accommodating. They offer you something to drink which adds a nice touch! Try this place, you’ll be happy!

Heather Julius My daughter and I started going to Carlie’s last spring. We have been very happy going here. The atmosphere is very pleasant and everyone is friendly and welcoming. My daughter has her long hair cut in layers and highlights done by Amelia. She has been thrilled with her hair each time. Amelia made sure my daughter was feeling comfortable every step of the way after letting her know that she had an unfortunate experience previously at a different salon. Her hair now looks stunning. I see Cole for a cut. I have long layers. She always reviews with me what I would like done and how much length I would like taken off. My hair is naturally curly and she knows the right products and styling to get my hair smooth but with fullness and body. My hair is also thick and she is gentle while blow drying my hair. It is obvious that Cole takes pride in the services and care that she provides to her clients. I leave the salon very happy with my hair every time.

Total Dentistry Manager Excellent service by Johanna. She did an amazing job on my hair. She did a balayage , third time I get it done and it has been the best with her. Highly recommend her. Very talented.

Morgan D Jeannie was my hairdresser. Had my hair bleached and it’s turning orange now :( UPDATE: If you have the same issue as me, use the OLIGO Blue shampoo. Leave in for 5 minutes, wash and blow dry. Got rid of 90% of my orange for $26.

Monika Denis is the best hairstylist in Florida! I have been going to him for many years! I took a 3 hour trip all the way from my hometown just to see him!! Seriously, no one compares to his style and dedication. He takes his time and makes sure clients are happy! Nothing is rushed or overlooked. Nanett Unfortunately, I had to delete my previous review (screenshot) since it doesnt reflect the current reality. I called Denis to schedule my 2nd appointment. He didnt seem to remember me, even though I left a great review last time, and even though they dont have that many customers yet since they just opened their salon in the area. He seemed disorganized, and hes been trying to push for hair coloring (guess thats where the money is at), which Im currently not in need of. He also took his time to get back to me regarding an appointment. When I wanted to reschedule, he never got back to me. Hes obviously not interested in retaining customers, so Im looking elsewhere.

I have thin blonde hair , most salons have told me they no how to cut buuuuuut they do NOT. They always thin my hair more then it is naturally. Denis cut was like sculpting , he actually made hair feel like 3 times the thickness and fullness. Went from blonde to ashy silvery grayish color. Looks magnificent. Mariah Meader The more I look at my hair and my experience here, the angrier I get. The person who did the balayage, or whatever it’s called, did a terrible job. I showed them pictures of what I wanted, telling them I didn’t want to go all the way to my roots. Ignored. Showed them the color I wanted. Ignored. They did the exact opposite; basically did whatever they wanted. They went in the back and said “let me go mix some color”… it was bleach. Just bleach. No toner, no color. Bleach. Not to mention this person smelled like they chain smoked cigarettes and hadn’t washed their clothes is over a week. I paid $200 and a $50 tip for something I could have LITERALLY done myself. Genuinely. The “stylist” was rough, dropped their styling tools on the floor multiple times and continued to put it in my hair and THERE WAS OTHER PEOPLES HAIR STILL ON THE FLOOR! No conversation no matter how many times I tried to start one. I ended up just reading a book on my phone. I could have done a better job myself. My husband was there too getting his hair cut and something that should have taken 25 minutes took and entire hour. This place was a disappointment. I picked it because of the reviews and did research only to be dissatisfied and disappointed. 10/10 not recommend and will not recommend. Ever. Even the receptionist said some shady stuff about one of the hair stylists. She was probably the only honest and good thing about this place. Illusions is definitely fitting for a name.

Lily Perez My long term hair dresser moved to Austria 3 years ago and since I had been unable to find someone who actually knew how to color and style hair, until now. I called last week after a botched self inflicted box color hair dying incident. Red in all the wrong places, I came to see Emily who sympathized and proceeded to perform her magic. I now have golden brown hair with caramel highlights. My hair felt like straw and now it is silky soft. I endured a week of humiliation with the red, but now I have a home for my hair care. It is a small two chair salon but clean and cozy. Piere ask me what color and haircut I was wanting and he gave me just what I asked for. I was very pleased and have already recommended him to some of my friends. I will be going back.

Patti C Dawn did a beautiful job on my daughters hair which was not an easy task because her hair was long and thick. Dawn took her time and gave her the hairstyle she requested and her hair turned out lovely.

Denise wold Dawn Hamilton is such a blessing! Her talent is awesome. Everyone at the salon is very friendly and professional. The salon is kept spotless. I love spending time getting pretty in a relaxing environment

Cathy Mizer Stephanie McDowell is the greatest. She is prompt, professional and very proficient at her job. I always like a million bucks when I walk out of there.

Sabrina Turney Got a perm done here. Spent 2 weeks making my hair in good enough condition for it to take the perm. The stylist, after doing the cold perm, brushed my hair with a regular brush(!), blow dried it(!!), and then took a hot curling iron to it(!!!). These are three big no-nos for curly or permed hair. I asked if this should be done, as my hair was showing signs of breakage from just the perm chemical treatment. After voicing these concerns to the stylist, she countered that I didnt know how perms worked, and they dont make hair curly at all(???), but rather just add body, and she "tried to talk you out of it a couple of weeks ago." Perhaps this stylist assumed that since I wasnt alive in the 70s and 80s, I wouldnt understand how perms work. If my hair was still too unhealthy for a perm, please just say no. If the perm didnt "take" and just damaged my hair, please just let me know. Dont insult your customer for being unhappy with their hair after asking if they like it or not. Overall I am very disappointed in my hair and the experience I had at this salon. Perhaps if I just needed a simple cut or styling done, this would be my go-to place. I believe this website should stop advertising that they do perms at all, when its clear that their staff is at best, ignorant of how permed hair is to be taken care of. I still have not seen one curly hair on my head.
