Darien Butler Very friendly and easy going atmosphere, staff is always respectful and informative. The establishment maintains a cleanly and inviting appearance. Its always hard to find someone that you can trust with your hair but they do a pretty good job here. The owner (Orphelia) is very good at what she does and being a male client of hers, she answers any questions I have to the best of her knowledge and gives me tips and tricks for the best look! Great spot for your hair needs and wants, check it out!

Tamekia Walton I absolutely LOVE getting my hair done here. Such a Godly and pure atmosphere and Orphelia has a beautiful personality. She is very knowledgeable about your hair needs. You will not be disappointed when you leave here. Such a pleasant experience every time I go.

Beckie B I have naturally red hair and as I have gotten older and my hair is turning gray it has been extremely difficult to find a stylist that can dye my hair to look like the natural red I grew up. I tried multiple stylists once moving to Tallahassee. As soon as I found Suzanne my search was over! Suzanne is an incredible colorist and stylist. She listens to what I want and with her expertise is able to flawlessly work her magic into something I love! I have had hair color, cut, balayage, & a Brazilian blow-out which is a must for Florida! Bonus is she genuinely is a wonderful person! I highly recommend Suzanne and Change of Pace Salon.

Jamie Lamkin It’s clear that Eden really made an impression on me! Finding a stylist who nails your hair and makes the experience enjoyable is like finding gold. With such a warm, inviting atmosphere and a welcoming staff, Change of Pace seems like a gem in itself. Its wonderful that me and my wife could both enjoy our time there, and getting those extra touches like eyebrow trimming and styling really adds to the experience. Eden must have a knack for understanding her clients’ needs and making sure they leave feeling great. We will definitely be returning to her—consistent quality service like that deserves loyalty.

Karen Walker Suzanne Bruce is the best hair stylist I, and my 22 and 24 year old daughters will agree, that we have EVER been to…And over the years I have been to many. My youngest started going to Suzanne after she was told how great she was. She gave her the most amazing blonde balayage and continues to. So then I started going to Suzanne. She does an amazing job covering up my grays and leaving me with great chocolate brown hair. Sometimes we play with it and add highlights. I can always trust her with my hair and her cuts are great too. Then when my oldest moved here 2 years ago, of course, she also started going to Suzanne. She’s my child that loves to change up her hair on a regular basis, the color, the cut, everything. Suzanne always listens and does an amazing job and is so careful to listen and advise when what you think might look good, or will actually fry your hair. Can’t say enough great things about how talented of a stylist and colorist she is and how passionate she is about her job and clients. …and great personality and humor will keep you entertained.

Callie Lamkin I visited Change of Pace Salon and had the pleasure of working with Eden. She did an amazing job on my partial low lights and my stacked angled bob. Eden is incredibly sweet and friendly! The salon is immaculate, and the staff was very welcoming. As another reviewer mentioned, the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, which is a refreshing change from the noise of some other salons.

Heather Tune Erin is AMAZING! I mean, really freaking amazing. Shes a natural teacher and is passionate about hair. I would say MAJORITY of cosmetologists that Ive been to are amazing, but they havent taught me about my hair. Why is it doing this? Why is this better than that? Oh, the shampoo Im using isnt hydrating, thank you for letting me know. My hair in the last decade has gone from board straight to wavy. Most people either blow it straight, one said it would be really difficult to make my hair have curls and left me with no hope. Erin, taught me what to do to get at least one day of nice waves. I hate to put my hair up because I love how it looks now, with the right education. Keep up the great work, Erin!

Kelli George Jessica at studio 5 is great! She got me my blonde back and I would highly recommend. I also love the layout of the place, there’s more privacy with separated room. Additionally, I love that they’re not an Aveda salon, like most places in Tallahassee.

Katherine Johnson Studio 5 Hair Salon is the Best.Salin.Ever. I have been a client of Jordanna Charroins many years before Studio 5 Salon became a business! I currently go every two weeks for a Shampoo/ Blow Dry and every 4 months for Highlights! I cannot say enough positive things about the hair stylists and the salon itself! Everyone is very courteous and professional. If my regular stylist, Christina Clifton, is busy or out sick both Stephanie Goller and Haley Helms are able to "pitch hit" in her absence and all do outstanding styling and are very accommodating to my needs! Leigh Dodson Took my daughter here for a blonde balayage before her pageant tomorrow. Her hair came out pink and is still light pink after they had to "fix" it. Kristine does not know what she is doing. In case you are reading this review dear...her hair was dyed pink last summer and was cut off in December last year. There is no pink in her hair and you have no excuse as to why her hair is now pink! Unbelievable I will not go back!

Moonstruck Florals Pearl and Honey is not only the prettiest salon, their staff and attention to detail are also one of a kind. They create the most beautiful hair styles for our brides wedding day! Amanda and Erin are both so incredibly kind and talented. We love working with Pearl and Honey

Dolly Quinn Erin has been cutting/styling/coloring my hair for almost three years now and she is THE BEST. I can’t say enough good things about Pearl & Honey. Every experience there has been so peaceful, enjoyable, and overall just wonderful. I always feel so much better walking out of their salon and all of the staff are incredible! Amanda Stephens Hands down the BEST salon and stylist experience I have ever had!  I am 50 years old, so that is saying a lot.  Erin is absolutely gifted and exceeded my expectations!  Her talent is truly amazing.  What a stylist!  Everything from essential oil head massage,  precise and detailed dry cut experience, hot towel on my neck and head massage in the shampoo bowl (even got the water out of ears after the shampoo) to the perfect blowout and style!  I have never left a salon before and NOT had to re-fix my hair. If there was an option to give 10 stars I would!  Highly recommend!

Megan Schwab Amanda at Pearl & Honey has been styling my hair for years now. I used to recommend her to literally everyone because shes absolutely amazing. Now I try not to recommend her too much because people have caught on to just how spectacular she is and now I have to plan my haircuts like 3 months in advance. But its 500% worth it. Every time I come into this salon the staff is smiling and serving up coffee in the most adorable cups. It feels like going to a friends perfectly styled home to have your hair done. Id tell you not to go here (so I dont have to start scheduling 4-5 months in advance) but not only are they spectacular stylists, Erin and Amanda are so kind and friendly that I cant help but want all you people reading this to give them all your money.

Samantha Andrews Pearl and Honey not only did my hair for my wedding (which was my favorite part), Erin has been my hairstylist ever since! She is knowledgeable and eager to teach you about ways to style your hair and how to best protect it. Everyone is very friendly!

Stephanie Carrejo I had an appointment with Morgan, and she did an excellent job. Asked me about my type of hair, and what I usually did to my hair. She was great and curled my hair perfectly to give me relatively flat hair some major volume!

Emma Huggins My gel manicure started to peel off on four fingers less than 24 hours after having it done. As well as this, my pedicure resulted in paint all over my skin around my nails and looks like a mess. The girl who was doing this, Katelyn, is a new member of the team and you could tell her experience was lacking. I won’t return to this salon for any nail treatments.

Candace Trimble Very nice large salon. Plenty of room to social distance, staff wears masks and are vaccinated. Brenda did a great job on my medium length blunt cut and also on my husbands haircut. Prices in line with other Tally salons.

Lisa Lexi is amazing! She makes my hair look better than anything Ive ever managed on my own. I always have a great experience here.

Barby Moro Lacey and her team at Tryst are amazing! They are a small boutique salon located in a renovated house in Midtown. They use a variety of products - Living Proof, Olaplex, Davines, K18, Farmhouse Fresh, etc. But I’ve done major hair changes and coloring there with Rachel and her work has been flawless every time. Super cute space with an amazingly talented team. I look forward to every appointment. ❤️

Emma Brown I have gotten my hair cut by Lexi multiple times now and I am her biggest fan! She always uses the best products for my hair types and executes my vision perfectly. Ive never loved my hair more!

Christy Wackes Lexi is great. Ive been to her a couple times now, and shes honestly given some of the best cuts Ive ever had. Plus, shes very friendly and easy to chat with, and salon itself is adorable. Highly recommend!

ELLE GINSBURG Erin is the absolute best best best to ever do it. I’ve been coming to her for I want to say almost a year now, and she does my hair perfectly every time. If you could go to anyone go to her! So talented and knows exactly what you want and does just that!! I won’t go to anyone else.

T Givens Miss Niecey is a vibe! The shop is clean, secure, and welcoming. Miss Neicey is a Master location and does professional and stellar work. I love this shop because you dont sit around waiting for your appointments. Your service is dedicated to you and is professional from start to finish. I love sitting with and talking with Miss Niecey, she is always so sweet, kind, positive, and engaging. Its like having your sister doing your hair and just vibing. She is knowledgeable and cares about hair care and will refuse doing anything harmful to your head/hair. The entire experience is what I expect from any shop and loctitian but never get! Book, you wont regret it!

Janie Dennis Ashley was very nice and extremely quick! You feel at home when you walk in there like no one is judging! If you are tender headed, you can tell them and I’m sure they will be gentle but be prepared for some pain. I was happy with my results and the service! I also love the decorations! Thank you! ❤️

Jaimie Martin Worst appointment EVER!! The stylist LEFT without notice. I know there is a stigma behind black salons but this takes the cake! I had the worst experience here. Not only was my hair done poorly, I went in for a relaxer and a roller set, but the worker Ashley completely neglected me. She left mid roller set, stuck me under the drier with the hair only partially rolled, and went to an appointment!!! I booked THIS hair appointment in advanced with HER. Co workers were calling to find her when we realized she didn’t bring her phone. No one knew where she went. I was left to have a nice sweet woman Ms. Hazel , bless her, try and come to my rescue she had to ask wether or not my hair was even relaxed, until Ashley came back after about 2 hours and some change to instead use the curlers to make me look like I was attending an 80s dance or 90s Sunday school (my hair fear). As a new mom wanting to feel good about myself again, with some time doing something nice for myself, this was NOT IT! Not to mention a lady came in for a scheduled appointment for highlights and no one knew who she signed with. How unorganized?! Ashley came back and charged FULL PRICE btw SMH

Jolene Geneviève I came in to see Ashley a day before Thanksgiving for a simple braided ponytail. After paying $60 plus tip for a wash + blowout, trim, and a braided ponytail, she did not deliver even remotely adequate work. There was a huge bump from the hair not being slicked down properly. The hairstyle looked bad! After wrapping it up like she said, the bump still didn’t come out. She didn’t even give me a sleek blowout as I requested. Plus my natural hair was sticking out of the braid a couple of days in. It was a basic ponytail that looked bad as soon as I left the salon. I had hoped that wrapping it up would help, but it did not. After calling the salon, she told me that I would have to pay her half the price of the style to have it redone. Would not recommend them :(

Jessica Jefferson Very unprofessional. If you unable to preform a service for a customer you need let the customer know. My daughter when in for a Silk Press. She have all natural hair. It look so good when the service was first done. This was her very first time getting professional Press. The Silk Press Last for least than four hours. She when back the next day it was a mess.

Teresa Jones Brenda is a kind and loving person. She takes time to make sure that I am safe moving from one chair to another. I have poor mobility, shes right there. Brenda is a wonderful hair stylish.

Melissa Luetgers I’ve been coming to Candice for two years now, and I can’t recommend her enough! She done everything to my hair (blonde, red, black, brown, bangs, highlights). Every visit is a great experience—she listens to what I want while also offering her expert advice. My hair always turns out better than I imagined, and I love how healthy it feels after each appointment. On top of her amazing skills, she creates such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a stylist who is talented, professional, and genuinely cares about her clients, Candice is the one!

Alex I hate to write this review because I’ve been to this salon multiple times and have never had any problems. I went in yesterday for a trim with Thang (Tina) and made it clear I did not want layers. My hair looked nice when I left but when I got home and brush it out I realized that I was given choppy layers and had inches of hair missing throughout my head. One side of my head was also noticeably less dense because of the layers she had given me. I called the store yesterday to see if she was available for me to come back and talk about getting it fixed/a refund and they didn’t answer. I received a call back today from Thang and when I told her I had to get an emergency haircut from somewhere else she was completely uninterested in discussing my hair and told me that she did give me layers (even when I had told her not to). I understand that there’s nothing she can do to fix my hair as I got an emergency haircut, but she had no interest in the photos I took of the haircut she gave me and told me that there was nothing she could do as she was insulted that I would complain about her work, and then hung up on me. I love the stylists that I’ve seen before but I wont be back because of the complete disregard Thang had.

k b I’ve been going to Candice for over 10 years now. She’s always very patient with my particular requests about layers and thinning while at the same time respecting that I want to “keep it long” without excessive thinning. She did my hair (updo) for my wedding and I’ve even had coloring done by her in the past. She absolutely delivers each time and my hair always feels healthier and refreshed after I leave her chair 100% of the time. I’d follow her anywhere to make sure she is the only person to cut my hair for the next 10 years

Zahra Sharif I absolutely love LJ’s work! I’ve tried different salons in Tallahassee and had some bad experiences, but LJ really stands out. He knows how to work with my hair type, listened carefully to what I wanted, and provided great advice that helped me adjust my expectations. And bam! He worked his magic. Highly recommend!

Ellie Kline I got my hair dyed here a couple months ago by “brittany.” wow. let me tell you, brittany is very unprofessional. she colored my hair and I thought it came out alright, but as I got home I noticed chunks of my hair not dyed. she also asked me for a date for the next appointment, I said yes to her suggested date but i’ll double check to confirm because I have finals & I need my hair done for a special occasion, and she never got back to me and filled my spot saying I had gotten back too late. she should have reached out to me given she never followed me back, she rarely answered my dms. she then proceeded to post all her available days that I could have done before this special occasion and still never messaged me. quite inconsiderate. was sweet in person though, but not a professional stylist at all whatsoever.

Janelle Taylor I called this business to inquire about a Kertain treatment for my hair, I was asked what kind of hair I had, I asked he what she meant by that, she asked if I had ethic hair to which I replied, YES, this person precedes to tell me that they don’t style ethic hair & that I should call another salon!!

Eva Alpert This place is very nice however they do not specialize in ethnic hair. They give a good wash and conditioning treatment but are not experts when it comes to straightening hair. I would not recommend this place to someone who wants to transform their curly locs to a straight look. If you have straight to wavy hair Bella Design will suit your needs.

Elizabeth McKinnon I was looking for a new hairdresser and this place was recommended to me. Made an appointment for Tuesday, March 13th. That morning I received a text from Bella reminding me of the appointment. When I got there, the person who was supposed to cut my hair told me it was on her calendar for a week later. I told her it was for that day and showed her the text that the salon sent me. She kept repeating that it was on her calendar for the next week. The fact that she could be wrong never occurred to her. I was a new customer and her attitude was unacceptable. I left and canceled the appointment for the following week. They will never see me again.

Lamonica Gadson My first appointment with Mocha and Jazz was a great experience. Jazz did my micro retighten both ladies were very polite and professional and I absolutely loved my hair when she was done. I recommend this studio to anyone who needs a REAL loctician.

Markai Milorin Her reputation doesn’t do her justice. She is phenomenal in every way. Her professionalism is astounding. She doesn’t make you feel like a client she makes you feel like family from the first entrance in her salon. The safe haven I think a lot of us didn’t know we needed. This boss deserves more than reviews, but her own flowers.

Rose Archer I have been to Mocha Reign in the past and really appreciated Tia’s services. It seems, however, that issues arise when you are requesting a new service that requires a consultation (see other reviews and her responses below in the lower rated reviews). I wanted to do color and recognized the need for a color consultation. I booked the consultation slot as well as the other services I was requesting as seen below. The average waiting time according to booksy is 3 hrs and 30 minutes. I waited to hear back a confirmation over two weeks and did not hear back. That didn’t bother me because Ive been there before and recognize it takes awhile. A few days prior to the requested appointment, she sent me this text. I responded, but she then did not respond. So the following day I called to ask if she had availability on Wednesday for the consultation. She was short with me and said no, but I recognize she’s busy. When I proceeded to ask when her next availability was, she hung up the phone. When I attempted to call back just to see if the phone disconnected, she did not answer. See below. I’ve never had issues in the past, but her rudeness took me aback. I support black owned businesses, but I also think it’s important that we respect our customers through the way we professionally engage them as well.

A. Marie Mocha is a wonderful stylist! She has taken impeccable care of my hair for 7 years after I had mediocre experiences at other Tallahassee salons. She is knowledgeable, professional, and reasonably priced. You’ve found your stylist!

Hilary Parsons I found JS Hair Lounge a few years ago through a Groupon offer for spa services. I had a facial, mani and pedi for my wedding. Recently, when I was searching for a hair stylist, I recalled having a positive experience at this business and that they did hair as well. I reached out to Jana and I’m so grateful I did. I have thick, curly hair (not easy) and it’s been challenging to find someone who knows what to do with it. Jana asked for pictures ahead of time and inquired about my budget. This showed me she genuinely cares. She was timely, efficient, knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. She did an amazing job with my hair color, cut and style. She’s the only person who has ever styled my hair and I didn’t have to go home to “fix” it. I’m both relieved and happy to have found someone this talented.

April May Ive been going to Steff for years. In fact I drive from Orlando to see her she IS the BEST - extremely fast at foiling highlights, and perfect cut every time. No matter how complicated I go with my color or cut I can trust that when shes done Ill LOVE it! There’s not much better than having a hair stylist that you truly trust.

Shelby PC I had a great experience at JS Hair Lounge. My hair was a wreck, but my stylist really put some time and effort into making it look alive again. The staff was friendly and the environment is very comfortable. A shampoo, cut and style was only $30! Ill definitely be going back.

Julia Walls Stephanie is an incredible stylist. She is very professional and kind. We use Stephanie for both regular hair care and recently for my daughter’s wedding. She came out to our home. She styled multiple different lengths, textures and age groups, and in multiple different ways. She worked with us weeks in advance and with a million of our crazy ideas and phone calls. ALL of our hair was BEAUTIFUL and it ALL remained in place ALL DAY! She is like having a family member around. Stephanie understands and helps you plan, not just what your hair is today, but what your future hair goals are. I am incredibly appreciative of her!

Eleonore Pieper This was my first visit for a womans haircut and I couldnt be more pleased. Jana Barnes, my stylist, was very friendly, understood right away what I wanted and worked very quickly and efficiently on my haircut. I went from halfway down my back to more of a pageboy length and Im super thrilled with my result. Pricing was very reasonable, and I will definitely be back. Thank you!

Eric Simpson Im a guy growing my hair out for the first time, so I dont know much. I went in and saw Jenna, vaguely described some things about my hair that have been annoying me, asked for two inches of, and she got right to work. I was in and out super fast and my hair looks great. Everyone was also very friendly.

adrianne kautz I wont trust my hair to any other salon in town. I have my favorites (Hi, Lestat and Audrey!) but when Ive had to make last minute appointments, the other stylists Ive seen have all been amazing. Everyone at the front desk is always so nice (especially Hema, who is a literal angel on earth.) Lestat and Audrey really listen to what I want and will gently guide me to an alternate solution when what I want is not feasible with my hair type or maintenance goals. Im really busy and not super consistent with my appointments, so they make sure my color will grow out beautifully, whether I come back in 5 weeks or 5 months, and never make me feel bad about my lapses. My 14 year old daughter also gets her hair done here and loves that they treat her like a friend and not a kid. Highly recommend!!!

I went in only having a rough idea of what type of hair cut I wanted, with having curly hair i’m always skeptical about certain haircuts but I received a shampoo wash, a wolf cut, and a blow out from her and it all looked amazing afterwards. M J Hello All! Booked color correction/blow dry after self dying my old blonde, black (do not do this). Emma did a great job with color correcting after two attempts. First attempt a few spots were missed and the black was still showing up blue. The blow dry could have been better. It felt lazily done. I’ve had $70 blow outs that got my hair bone straight. After expressing this I was called rude. Even called back to reiterate my intentions were not to be rude but to share my HONEST opinion on my $300 service. My hair texture seemed to be the blame but I was not accepting. It has been done bone straight before (I am African American/Mexican). More than anything it is MY hair and MY hard earned $ being spent. Being able to take constructive criticism is a very important part to being in any creative industry and if that is not received well it will be very hard doing it as a living. Thank you!

Jordan Michael “Reaganomics Lamborghini” Id rate 10 stars if I could. Excellent salon, fantastic service, extremely kind and caring people throughout. Highly recommended to anyone on the fence about where to go - you wont be wasting your time going to see Taylor or any of their other fantastic stylists.

Nahimana Blackwolf I’m having a whole new experience in this new state with hair. Went in the first time to get my hair dyed and it was fantastic! The guy was awesome! Went to a different person just to have a back up. I had photos to show how I wanted to brighten the existing color and the color came out completely wrong. Went back in to have the color corrected with same person, hair is now over processed and dry. No I only did that because they refused to refund me and since the appointment was last minute I felt like I had to have them at least try and fix it, because I had a party to attend in two days and after all, it was more important to them to keep the money rather than have someone do it correctly. So instead, just have the same person over process my hair. If you can’t achieve the look, don’t accept the challenge, always refer some else who is more experienced in a particular department than you. This process was doable and if not, as a professional, you should say that. The other thing is, I’ve never gone to a salon (been to three out here now) that doesn’t give a nice massage while washing your hair, it’s apart of the experience right? It’s almost like they’re afraid to really wash it like they mean it, and then they add a huge tip to your bill (like room service in hotels) Why? Allow a customer to tip as they like, don’t be greedy. Anyway, nice salon, hope this review helps.

The stylist I had an appointment with (at another salon) cancelled on me at the last moment, so I REALLY appreciated Marie fitting me in. Anyway, she was very friendly, did a great head/neck massage during my shampoo, and made my hair look fabulous for tonight. Sof P I am extremely disappointed with my overall experience with Soleil 7. I have spent a large sum of money for my hair to look incredibly messy, streaky, crusty and dry. I originally came in for a hair cut and color service. Due to the color i currently had in my hair, the stylists told me they could not possibly even try to give me the color I wanted. I said sure and just went along with a full cover up. At the end, my hair ended up being uneven and very streaky with remains of the past color very obviously showing. The stylist sent me home with hair dye in one spot of my hair to try to cover it up, but it did not work. I went home the first night incredibly unhappy. I asked for a service to fix it and later went to a different stylist. My hair is currently still unevenly colored and now it is black in some areas, which is so far from what I originally wanted. What really got me upset, is the fact that neither of the stylists could properly straighten my hair and sent me home with an atrocious look. Both of them passed a flat iron through my wet hair which made the ends crispy. My hair looked horrible and I had to straighten it when I got home both times.Now I am stuck with short, and ugly hair trying to figure out who to go to in order to fix it. This isnt at all what I expected from this salon and the fact that it occurred twice just reassured me that this is not good place. All in all, I paid a good amount of money for my hair to be damaged and not even look close to how I wanted. Only nice thing was the charisma of both stylists.

I left very happy with my new haircut :D Janice was amazing at communicating and asking further questions to make sure I got the results I wanted. I WILL be making this my GO-TO spot to visit her again, she’s definitely earned my trust with my hair!!

Catherine The door was locked at the time of my 10AM appointment and no one answered the phone any of the multiple times I called. I stayed for 15 minutes, called again, and left. When they finally called me back an HOUR later (from a completely different # than what was on Google) I was gaslight about the door being unlocked and the woman otp was extremely condescending.

MEliz Linda works with one client at a time, and gives each client five star treatment! She worked with me to come up with hair styles that suit my casual lifestyle and preference for classic cuts and minimal processing.

Beth Carey I called Mona at the last minute because my regular hairstylist was hard to get in with. I had seen some of the work Mona had done on a coworkers hair that always looked great. Not only did she squeeze me in last minute, she did a wonderful job. Shes also very sweet and personable. I would recommend her highly.

Harriet Oliff Kaylen cut my moms hair. She was very attentive to my moms special needs due to her dementia and the haircut was perfect!I I really liked that Kaylen did everything, shampoo, haircut and nails. It made it less confusing for Mama. She felt very comfortable at Glam Haus so we will definitely be back.

Robin McDougall I started getting my hair cut here with Kalyn a few months ago. This is a clean salon with a really friendly atmosphere. Mona Beatty is the owner and keeps the place warm and inviting with exotic decor and a cheerful greeting. Kalyn is doing a fantastic job with my cuts. I have started getting lots of compliments!
