Alexis Freeman My appointment was with the owner Quanda Lyles at Pretty, Prissy Sadity Walk-In Glam Salon. This is my second time here and I am so glad I gave the shop a second try the first time she had some stylist who were just a bit ratchet for my taste but I overlooked that because they appeared to be very young. However I was extremely impressed at the changes with this salon. The atmosphere was relaxing She was attentive She is honest She actually listens she walked me through everything she was doing and what products she was using. She even gave me tips on products to use at home. Am new in town and had a lot of questions. I never felt like just another number here or that my question was annoying her. Lol Her personality was so comforting And welcoming. The entire shop was clean from The bathroom to the front area Her prices are reasonable I have just found my new stylist If you are hesitating about booking an appointment don’t be. Do it!!! Book your appointment today. I promise you won’t regret it. And if you don’t want to make an appointment she even takes walk ins giving JCPenny and the other major salons a run for their money.

Roc S Shannon Has been taking care of my hair for the past 2 years. My hair has grown drastically and is truly becoming what I have always wanted it to be. If you need a stylist with growing hands definitely book with her! Also One thing about her is that if you are tender headed you can voice it and she will be even more gentle with you.

Michelle Yates Love that they are a walk-in salon, very beautiful lay out. The atmosphere was everything. Had lite refreshments and very welcoming! If you need natural hair care or any type of styles this is the place for you. The Owner is very helpful and well educated in the hair industry. 10/10

Isaeme Mario Honestly zero stars… I haven’t even had the chance to get my hair done. But I called for a frontal sew in and called to make sure what is included. front desk person kept hanging up on me. Website doesn’t match what is said. If a frontal sew in does not include the hair it needs to be listed on website. Y’all are actually very rude when it comes to new clients viewing from social media. So if you were a walk in client coming in for a frontal sew in you would be out of luck cause they don’t provide the hair. “WALK IN SERVICE.”

Tess G I would like to start off by saying, I feel bad to post anything negative about my experience as the staff was overly welcoming. Extremely sweet and the salon is beautiful and very tidy. I cannot stress enough how sweet everyone is. However, this was a very unfortunate night for us. We were accidentally triple booked and I felt so bad, we called early that morning to see if they had one more spot available and they squeezed me in. (There was a slight scheduling mix up and that made her triple booked) I went with my sister and mother. My sister was told her hair would be 150 dollars and was charged 50 additional dollars for toner without being told and 45 for maybe a 1/3 inch cut my sister didn’t ask for as in the beginning she specified she was unsure if she wanted a cut but, Adrienne just started cutting my sisters hair without asking. My sister was originally told 150 and wound up floored when she was told her total was 250 dollars. She was promised a balayage and received simple highlights which she explicitly explained she did not want, they look extremely lazy and streaky...my nanny said they look like they’ve been grown out for 3 months....its almost disgusting how outrageously overpriced and completely unlike the pictures my sister had shown Adrienne. My mother had gone in for a nanoplasty and was told mid-session she could not wash it for 5 days or dye it for 1 week. Knowing this prior my mom absolutely would NOT have gotten this procedure done, as she likes her hair in a particular way for her job. This seems like something important to mention prior to an appointment so the client could prepare themselves properly. She was frustrated and left with her hair flat and with an orange cast (her hair is naturally black). The women was VERY heavy handed and pulled on her hair with the flat iron and unfortunately burned the ends of her hair. She and my sister are now crying and out 550 dollars (total). My hair was a homemade mess I needed fixed. I have a lot of hair and I understand she was very busy but I only re-colored 1/3 of my hair (underlights/peekaboo highlights) It was a swamp green from at home dye and the bleach could not lift it I wanted it blue and it became a a bright teal which looks fine. However, I am not a hair expert but the hair is 3 different colors at the roots and now i’m too upset to put my hair up.... My roots are blonde, brown and green not even blue....She also neglected to show me my roots so i was surprised when i went home and put my hair up. I genuinely would rather be told something cannot be done with my hair in 1 appointment than pay 200 dollars for 1/3 of my hair dyed 3 colors. I was told my hair would cost 150 dollars as well and I believe I was charged for a blow dry which she did not tell me was extra. I hope I save you all some time and money with my honest review....I wish I had seen an honest review before my family left with ruined hair and out nearly 1000 dollars. Overall, it was a night to remember....in a very unpleasant way. I do not say that lightly. **REFUND/CUSTOMER SERVICE*** We reached out with a neutral party (my godmother) for any kind of compensation and she was told to leave her name and number as she would receive a call back from the owner. We have waited nearly a full week for some type of response after being told we would receive a call back from Adrienne herself which we never received. I cannot say i’m shocked as Adrienne has handled this whole situation very unprofessionally and this to me speaks high volumes about her level of customer service and what matters most to her which is not customer satisfaction. Something else important to note is that her salon is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau.

Jennifer Frye Wow! I received a "Day of Beauty" gift certificate for my 50th birthday. It comes with a one hour Swedish Massage, a European Facial, and a spa pedicure. It was my first time for all three services, and I must say Im addicted. It was amazing. The massage was so very relaxing, the facial was refreshing, and for someone who does NOT like their feet touched, it was very tolerable and so much better than what I can do. I was there for about 2 and a half hours and I cant wait for my next visit. I also want to give mad props to Ashley. She has amazing hands!! Thanks to all!!!

Jenna Giordano Adrienne and her staff are very sweet and friendly, but I had a very poor experience with the salon. I showed Adrienne the hair I desired which was a balayage ombré. I also discussed the price range and she said it would be 150 dollars for the whole thing. She dyed my hair and i was unsure if I wanted a trim but she started cutting anyways. After the process was done I looked the same with 5 random blonde streaks in my dark brown hair. The “balayage” looked like she slapped dye in my hair without looking. My hair didn’t even slightly resemble the picture. Furthermore, when I got to the register she said my total would be 250 dollars. I was so infuriated she charged me 50 dollars for a two second trim and 50 dollars toning without asking if I was okay with the up charge. My sister also came along and got the bottom layer of her hair dyed and she charged her 200 dollars. I now have to get my hair redone because of the terrible job Adrienne did. This was my first time ever going to a salon and this made me never want to go again. If you want beautiful hair like your reference photo do not come to this salon. Overall, I’m disgusted with the sloppy and unprofessional results and the OUTRAGEOUS price. I wouldn’t recommend this salon to my worst enemy.

Tommy Shinn As always, the attention at the salon is top notch. Clients are greeted and pampered throughout the visit. I highly recommend Addrienne who has cared for my hairstyling needs for over 20 years. Love this salon and highly recommend it. See Ashley for the best massage in North Florida.

brittney shannon DO NOT GO HERE DO NOT GO HERE! My niece got her hair done here for Christmas and wanted teal highlights. Her hair has no color and she gave her the hair color and said do it at home. When called for a refund she said no and hung up the phone. Not only did she not provide the service she was paid to do, she rudely hung up and refused to remedy the situation. DO NOT GO HERE! A waste of money! If I could leave zero stars I would because she did nothing and still did nothing. The first pic is of what she left.. The Second pic is what it looked like after an actual professional did it.

Evelyn Sushinskiy PLEASE DON’T COME HERE I never write reviews, however, my sister and I were treated very badly. I took my little sister here to get a balayage for her birthday. We showed the stylist (Patrick) what we want and when he was finished. I realized the color of the hair did not change at all, it was still brown. He said once we go outside it will be more noticeable, so I trusted him and I left. As soon as we left, we realized that it’s still brown. We came back 20 minutes later and he refused to fix her hair or refund us anything. So basically, I paid $400 to bleach my sister’s hair and make it brown again.

Elizabeth Monico Both myself and my adult daughter have recently had total hair experiences at *the* salon. Every stylist - and the owners - were very knowledgeable about their products and the differences of our hair. Celeste squeezed me in last minute. In my short 20 minutes with her, I learned that Ive been *not* taking care of my hair and scalp my entire 52 years. Incredibly knowledgeable about the products they sell. Lily graciously gave my daughter a brand new look (short notice again and on a Saturday). My daughters hair was past her bum. Now its just below her shoulders. It looks so healthy. Her words: "Played with the hair cut more and absolutely love it! Lily did a phenomenal job!". Again, so very much knowledge!

Tried it She (It) The salon is nice and very prompt. My stylist Angela sat me at the sink to wash my hair and asked if she could use Dawn dish soap to wash my hair. She said because my hair was so oily and not to worry she would give me a hydration treatment. So without asking questions because shes the pro.. I say sure. She gave me some tips on how to care for my hair and prevent breakage. At the end of my service I was charged for the hydration treatment that I thought she was doing because she was using Dawn instead of what she called expensive shampoo. I would have appreciated knowing that upfront. In my opinion Dawn should not be used on all hair types. My hair was so dry and flaky the next day I couldnt believe it. $200 was way too much in my opinion. Ill do my own twist from now on. I would still recommend based on the client that got straight styles. Update. When I took the twist out the ones in the back looked amazing but the ones at the top and the front didnt really hold. They started poofing out a lot quicker than the rest. Shocked at the Owner response. Now youre trying to be nasty. Like I told you that day and yesterday. I washed my hair every week or every 2 weeks. I should have posted the pictures of my two strand twist when I do them myself. No thanks.

Imani Angella has been amazing hair stylist and is always my go-to for my relaxers. My hair has thrived and grown so much ever since I met her. She educated me on how to better care for my hair with quality hair products. And compared to other stylists, I dont leave with any chemical burns!

Petite Jacque Angela has been my stylist several years now and I am amazed at her work. I have natural hair and get silk presses monthly now. Each press lasts me until my next visit about 4 weeks. It has been my go to protective style and has made my life much easier. Highly recommend if you want manageable and healthy natural hair.

Seidah El-Amin Want braids book with Tiara, want a blow out book with Shan. Ive had great experiences with both. I took my 7yr old daughter to Shan and she loved it, she got blow out and style (it was her first time at a salon).....only bad thing is time so dont be in a rush :-), not because of them but just because a previous client could have been late or wanted an extra service.

Rain Robinson Tee did an amazing job on my Goddess Locs. I get compliments everywhere I go! They take good care of your hair and make sure you are satisfied with the results. Im very picky with my hair, but have been a repeat client at Glam Hair Studios; they have availability and will work with your schedule.

Jessica Thompson Unfortunately I’m having to change my review to 1 star. If you want a forever place, this is not it. Unfortunately Jacksonville does not have the best when it comes to hair salons. This is the second time my stylist has been let go (both different individuals). I have not been notified that my appointment was canceled. Luckily I was able to find my stylist on Facebook, who was able to inform me of what happened because I called the salon 3 times and they haven’t answered. They make the choice to not rehire great talent A LOT. Whoever runs this shop doesn’t care enough about customer experience, and doesn’t make the best political decisions for their business either. If you let your employees go, the experience affects the customers unless you go out of your way to make it seamless. The first time I showed up to the shop and wasted my time, this time I was smart enough to call first since I didn’t receive an appointment confirmation. Just to share my experience, I went to a hair salon in Gainesville, FL for about 4 or 5 years. Similar quality stylists (a little better if I’m being honest). I would say out of the 8ish stylists that were there, at least 6 of them were there the entire time that I was going. One of those 6 was my hair stylists. They had customer and employee appreciation events, and even made and sold their own hair products. This is a BLACK OWNED salon. ALL of their stylists were A1! I KNEW that if my hair stylist was not able to come in, WHOEVER did my hair was going to do a phenomenal job. They were a family. I imagine instead of firing people, they probably have them something like (hmm let me guess) constructive criticism. They have done an amazing job at conducting a successful ethnic haircare business. They have also been in the same location the entire time. The consistent service kept me and many others going back for years and I promise you if they were here, I would be going there. I saw so much potential in this salon. It pretty much is like the Jacksonville version of that salon, and we all know Jacksonville has different standards. Hope to see this salon turn it around one day and retain a bit more business.

Claudia Alexandra I’ve been going to Suada with my mom for almost 10 years now. When we first moved to Jacksonville it was hard to find a professional hair dresser that actually knew how to handle hair and property process, style and cut it. You never leave her salon with a wet hair. She walkways washes and dries and styles your heart without charging exorbitant prices. I am not a natural blonde, I am a brunette and I go every couple of months for a highlight. I tend to change the tones of my blonde depending on the season (I attached different pictures from different times I’ve visited). She always gets my hair and knows what I want. May hair is still long and shiny after now almost 10 years of bleaching. Suda knows how to treat your hair right, she is a professional and has a lot of experience.
