Courtney Dean The nurses and staff in the ICU are top notch. My husband has been in multiple times and every time they provide the best care and compassion. Christina, Claudia, Cat, Sam, and a few others that I have had nothing less than an amazing experience! Thank you for these ladies and GENT, who truly care about us when we come in. Much love. ❤️❤️

Joe Merkt Im giving it 1 star but I prefer zero!! Worst experience Ive ever had at a hospital. Came to the ER with severe abdominal pain turns out to be a blocked kidney stone. Was told no urologist on call at that hospital and I should be transferred to Port Charlotte. Then told a half hour later a urologist will see me in the morning so Ill stay there and be admitted. Next day not one doctor came to see me even though they said the urologist was coming that day. No one came. After frustrating conversations with the nurses Im told again that the urologist will see me in the morning. So 24 hours go by and still no doctor to check on me. Day 2 morning comes and still no doctor. Then Im told she will be there at 1:00pm to assess my situation. At 1pm I received excellent care from the urologist who then removed my stone. She spoke with my wife after the procedure who then proceeded to ask the doctor why it took so long for me to get care. The doctor told her I should have NEVER been admitted there in the first place and the doctor didnt even know I was in that hospital until 24 hours after being there. No one even called her!! She also said if I was transferred the night I came to the ER like I was supposed to be I would have been cared for immediately because her associate was on call at the other hospital and would have seen me right away!! Other things were of concern while I was there as well and are in the complaint I filed with the hospital. No matter the emergency in the future myself or my wife will NEVER go to this hospital again!!

Amador Casica From the time I walked through the front doors of the hospital, I was greeted warmly and kindly. The entire process of checking in to the time I was brought back from recovery to my discharge from the hospital, I was treated as a VIP. I was so well taken care of that I highly recommend and applaud the staff at Shore Point health at Punta Gorda. Thank you Dr. S., and especially the nursing staff. Sincerely; A.T. Casica

Charles McWhirter DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL! On April 19, 2024, I walked into the Emergency Room (ER) at ShorePoint Health in Punta Gorda, FL to receive medical care. I thoroughly expressed my concerns to everyone from the desk clerk during check-in, ER nurses and Techs, and the ER doctor [Dr. Boris Reznikov] about my unintentional weight loss of 42 lbs since January 2024 and pain in the upper left portion of my back. I did not feel as if my health concerns were being taken seriously by the medical staff at ShorePoint, and I felt as if I was being profiled and just processed through their ER and sent out the door. During my visit to ShorePoint, I was given a shot of Toradol, advised to get a professional massage for my back and prescribed Ibuprofen 600mg (30 tablets). I am not a medical professional, but the unintentional weight loss should have been a huge red flag and lab work on my blood shouldve been completed. On May 4, 2024, only 15 days after my visit to ShorePoint, I walked into the ER of Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice, FL because I was continuing to lose weight unintentionally and my upper back pain was still an issue. The staff at Sarasota Memorial took both urine and blood samples to submit for testing shortly after I completed the check-in process. The blood test indicated my Glucose Serum (blood sugar) was at 629 mg/dL. The ER doctor asked me if I was a diabetic or if I had ever been a diabetic, and I replied, "No." The ER doctor then explained he was concerned about my blood sugar being so high paired with my unintentional weight loss, and he ordered X-rays and a CT scan. The CT scan resulted in the discovery of a 5cm mass on my pancreas which the ER doctor had concerns of malignancy (cancer). I was admitted into the hospital at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Venice, FL due to my blood sugar levels and further testing for the mass on my pancreas. Over the next several days, I underwent an endoscopy procedure, a laparoscopic procedure, an MRI scan with contrast, and more lab work on my blood. The biopsy results from the mass on my pancreas confirmed I have Stage 4 Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma (Cancer). I was also diagnosed with Severe Malnutrition and Uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes. The oncology doctors informed me that if I had continued my life without discovering my cancer when I did and began treating it, the probability of me being dead in 6 months or less was very high. The oncology doctors gave praise to the Sarasota Memorial ER doctor for "putting the pieces together" and discovering my cancer. They also said the Sarasota Memorial ER doctor potentially "saved my life." ShorePoint Healths entire staff lacks attention to detail, I received misdiagnoses from their medical staff, they neglected to accurately document my symptoms, and failed to deliver care that meets established standards. ShorePoint Health’s lack of thoroughness failed to discover my Stage 4 Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma (Cancer). No lab work was EVER completed during my visit to Shorepoint Health! Ultimately, I was medically advised to “go get a professional massage.” I feel the level of care that I received at ShorePoint Health was substandard, and that I was profiled by medical staff. I brought these issues to the attention of ShorePoints upper management team, filed a complaint and provided them with medical documentation from Sarasota Memorial to support my complaint. While ShorePoint Health was reviewing my complaint, THEY SENT MY ENCOMPASSING MEDICAL EXPENSES (Total: $1,309.16) TO COLLECTIONS AFTER I REQUESTED AN ITEMIZED BILL. I went to ShorePoint Health for medical help, and put my trust in ShorePoint Health, but ultimately suffered an emotional toll due to my experience. ShorePoint clearly cares more about money/profit than patient care. Luckily, I sought a second opinion and medical help from Sarasota Medical Center just two weeks after I visited ShorePoint Health. Sarasota Memorial and their entire staff was AMAZING and able to discover my Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer by providing thorough medical care while showing compassion.

Shari reid As heartbroken as I am, as my mom passed away early this morning, I want to give a shout out to Shorepoint Health Punta Gorda. The amazing staff worked so hard to save my mom. When we knew it was her time to go, they were the most caring and compassionate staff I have ever experienced. Im not talking just about the nurses and doctors. Every employee I encountered were amazing. Thank you all so much!

Mary Lou Lukach I liked the atmosphere of a small hospital. The nursing staff was friendly and helpful. The anesthesiologist and his department were very helpful and took the time to ask important questions and explain what would be done to become sedated for the surgical procedure. The surgeon also spoke to me to reiterate what was going to be done during surgery. This was a better experience than I have had at a previous surgery at another hospital. I would give a five star but this hospital is old and really needs to be renovated and upgraded with a better organized layout.

Kevin My Emergency room experience was very good. Michael at the check-in was professional and efficient. Nurse Kim was excellent, friendly and answered all my questions. Dr. OLeary was wonderful as well. Very professional and caring. Explained my situation clearly, and his treatment was excellent. Marlene, the gentleman who did my CT scan and the discharge nurse all projected a professional, caring and compassionate attitude.

Nadine Murvin I’m making this review regarding my mother who had open heart surgery and did her recovery here. She had a wonderful experience there. She stated that all of the staff was very pleasant and really pushed her for a smooth and healthy recovery. She constantly thinks about the team that assisted her and wanted to personally shout out Jennine, Marie, and Teresa. These ladies took extra time to give her tender love and care. We thank you so much!

R Smyrna 5 stars for the nurses on the second floor. Vanessa, Robert Smith, Victoria, the nursing list goes on. Im very grateful for the care they gave me. In a nut shell they were great. Ill never forget them. 4 Stars for the food. It was adequate, and better than other hospitals Ive been in. 3 stars for the noise at night when sleep is needed to get well.

thomas scavitto Beyond rude, they were incompetent. This is Advent Health?! My wife asked for a blanket and socks while laying on a gurney in an ER room and everyone refused to get her those basic needs. It took 5 people to get an IV in her which didn’t even work and was so painful when they tried to access it. Stating “it’s the medication honey that’s hurting you”. Candy, our nurse, was completely ineffective as a patient advocate. I had to bring my wife to the bathroom twice while unsteady on her feet and almost falling. Lazy, incompetent and downright non empathetic. I’m a nurse working for 30 years and never saw a motley crew of health “professionals “ like this. The ER doc, Jack Zepada was as completely benign to any human emotion as he gave us life altering news about my wife’s medical condition. When we called to complain about the “care” we got , we spoke to Advent Health corporate offices and were told to call back “when feeling better”. The number for the corporate office was 407-303-0500. DO NOT bring anyone you love to this facility. My wife and I signed out AMA despite her medical condition to seek treatment at another facility in Venice. Horrible 8 hour ordeal!!!!!

Robert Vogel Dr Garrow was one of the best GI docs I had. When I met him in the hospital he told me none of his crohns patients are in the hospital and I said exactly that’s why I want you as my doc.. and he kept me out of the hospital and kept my crohns under control.. I am still saddened by his sudden passing.

Jen Bettencourt This physician put my life in literal danger. I had a chronic issue with my gallbladder that was making me EXTREMELY sick. Instead of taking my gallbladder out when he had me under, a stent was put in without any tests or follow up tests. When the stent came out & my symptoms returned & i went to him for a floow up, he wrote me off saying "its probably just anxiety". If it wasnt for my primary doctor sending me out of town to tenacious specialist, we would have never found out my gallbladder had a birth defect, making it half the size is supposed to be & that it was in the wrong place. It was also, one giant gallstone inside with an infection that could have killed me in a matter of hours had my gallbladder ruptured. We wouldnt have found out it had migrated, attached to my intestines & was slowly choking them out. It would not have been discovered that the damage from my gallbladder created a hole in my intestinesto the point they had to be clipped & sowen back together. After I got out of surgery I was told I was lucky to be alive. Another 6 months & I would have been dead by any number of issues caused by Dr. Garrows neglect.

Shaunessy Lucas My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Dr. Garrow was very caring and extremity hopeful rather then negative. Even after the appointment I recieved a call just to see how we were doing and if we needed anything going forward to please reachout. I have and would recommend him anytime!

Jean Lener I loved Dr Garrow he is the only one who found my problem and just fixed it 2 weeks ago. I am sad at his passing and I send my deepest sympathy to his family. I met his children at his office I know that he will be greatly missed. The last time I saw him was when he was going to remove my stent. I was all set up and he bent down close to my face so he could see my eyes I know he was smiling it showed in his eyes. I will keep that picture in my mind until I die. God Bless

Darlene Cassada So thankful to have found Dr. Garrow. He is so knowledgeable and makes his patients feel so comfortable. AND I can’t say enough about Remi!!! She worked and worked for me to try to get my insurance to cover a very expensive prescription. They would not, so she got it set it up with Express Scripts so that I am able to get it at home for a fraction of what it would have cost me. I will be forever grateful to her!!!

Ivette Basora Ive been a patient of Dr. Ruggieri since 2015. My experience with him and his staff has always been above average! He is so knowledgeable and his staff is so caring, paying attention to details of my care. I feel safe in his care and with his entire staff. I will stay at Center for Health as long as Dr. Ruggieri is there! I come from another county to see him, and I will continue to do so!

marjorie mehney This woman is the most Thorough and professional doctor I have ever been to with the exception Dr. Geimer from years ago in Michigan! I reside both in Michigan Where I have a different m new internist that is not nearly as involved in patient care as Dr Keon! Because of Dr Keons excellent care I fly when Michigan that to Punta Gorda for Dr. Keon! Sometimes you have to wait to see her because she does put the patient first that she’s hearing for at their appointment. I’ve seen some people become extremely irate however, she’s going to take care of use of patient thoroughly even if it means someone else has to wait longer. She is well worth every minute of every waiting moment. Cindy her staff person, nurse, everything is outstanding also. Do yourself a favor and try to have an appointment with her. She’s never disappoint me and I’ve had some significant issues and she was the only one that got to the bottom of it. Thank you Dr Keon and Cindi from the bottom of my heart. Please note that Dr Keon is now with millennium in Punta Gorda still and no longer with Center for Health.

Heart Land Finally found a good Nurse Practitioner Carolyn Hoffman at the Center for Health in Punta Gorda. She has gone over and beyond to help me with my medical issues. I had been falling thru the cracks of our new health care system for approximately 8 years. Her methods of treatment was so simple and gave me such relief of ongoing symptoms. I can honestly say that she can give better care than any Doctor I have had contact with in Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte and all of Lee county! She really cares. Strongly suggest making an appointment with her for guidance on your health care needs.

Sandra spence We are new retirees to Port Charlotte and was referred to Dr. Keon. I was looking for a same gender doctor specifically one whom I believe would be sensitive and supportive of my medical needs and one that I would be comfortable with. All these I found in Dr. Keon and more. I am concerned with quality of care not so much about the duration of waiting time to see her. Thorough assessment of my medical needs, identifying, treating and making the necessary referrals that will lead to improved health is exactly what I needed and what I am getting from Dr. Keon. My husband wanted a male doctor and when he met with Dr. Keon he said "dont look for another doctor - I am good". So we are looking forward to continued relationship with Dr. Keon as we work towards improving our health. ,

6.Dr. Steven Halasz Internal Medicine & Endocrinology of Southwest Florida, PLLC.

Address: 713 E Marion Ave # 127, Punta Gorda, FL 33950

(27) Reviews Dr. Steven Halasz Internal Medicine & Endocrinology of Southwest Florida, PLLC.:

Mary Davis My husband and I are new to Dr. Halasz so far we are very pleased with him and his staff. He doesnt rush you, he takes his time with each patient asking questions and gives you time to answer them. You can ask him questions and he will answer them and makes sure you understand his answers. He is truly an old fashion Dr. which my husband and I truly appreciate. We dont feel like a number.
5 /5
Angelica Rosa I went to Dr.Halasz today 2/14/23 for a follow up that I have been waiting for 2 plus months. When I arrived the lady at the front desk asked "do you have an appointment or something"? I didnt like the fact thats the first thing she asked and to top it off she said it with an attitude. I then go to explain to her that I have an appt and the doctor wanted me to come back to follow up on my bloodwork. She stated that my appt was canceled and wasnt sure who did it and also, they dont take my insurance anymore. I began telling her that I was aware that they dont take my insurance anymore but Dr.Halasz wanted to see me one last time to go over everything and he would make an exception. She then rudely began to say, " well you dont have an appointment, Im not sure what to do". She seemed not to care and was really rude the whole time. I had to take time off of work only to have my time wasted by a rude person as she. Its a shame to have her on his staff because he really is a nice doctor.

Ron Ercolani Fantastic Doctor and staff. Extremely attentive to my health overall. Ive been a type 1 diabetic for over 52 years now and his care is exceptional. Never an issue with appointments.

Kyler Ducey Dr halasz and his staff are top tier, always super kind and welcoming its always a pleasure going and seeing them. Dr halasz also has never failed to help me understand my disease better, he loves when you ask questions and will always give you an answer and maybe some tips, that will help you along youre way. Overall 11/10 doctor (Hes also really funny hell have a joke or two for ya!)

Boyd Victor (Vic) This place is terrible. If you are a patient here I feel sorry for you. I called to become a new patient because my insurance company told me to as a “preferred provider” and the office manager wouldn’t listen to me and tried to tell me that the POS plan I have from my employer which I pay an extra premium for was not accepted but a PPO plan which is a lower level is accepted. She then hung up on me as I tried to ask her a question. I call back and ask for a manager and she said oh I am the manager. I tried again to explain to her that my carrier referred me and I do not have a CVS or whatever plan but a plan I pay a $200 premium for. She tells me again nope only a PPO. No HMO or POS anyone that knows about insurance would know a POS plan covers way more than even a PPO plan and is nowhere near an HMO plan. I’ve just been discharged from an inpatient stay and was told at registration that I have a very good plan because I pay the extra to avoid headaches. So my wife calls to get some answers and Melanie picks up and said “sounds like it’s the wife”. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Do not take your loved ones to this practice even if you have a PPO plan. Absolutely disgusting behavior for people in the medical field. I’m trying to navigate a new diagnosis and this was my first experience speaking with a specialist’s office. Makes me not even want to establish care if this is the attitude of people in the Endocrinology field no compassion or empathy.

7.Dr. Edgardo Soto De La Rosa

Address: 4235 Kings Hwy, Punta Gorda, FL 33980

(20) Reviews Dr. Edgardo Soto De La Rosa:

Kathie Penland MY 88 year old mother in law Saw the doctor in August. .NEVER GOT RESULTS nor were they sent to the cardiologist that requested the testing nor her primary care dr. When I asked the results be sent I was told the records needed to be requested by the very doctor that ordered the test. After 6 months NO ONE KNOW THE RESULTS BUT DR SOTO!!!! Just NOT RIGHT. NEVER USE THUS GUY IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.
1 /5
Lee Laurie I have been very happy with my care from Dr. Soto up until my last appointment. During my visit I let the dr know that I have been seeing a dr to be evaluated for zephyr valves. I printed all of the results from all testing for dr Soto to review. He said that he does not oppose my looking into it. Like it is up to him! I then mentioned changes in my vision from my inhaler. He stood up and said “they all do” ! I asked if he wanted the test results….he said NO. He never even listened to my lungs. He simply left the room. He had me set up for the all night oxygen level testing. The results were that my level is around 84 most of the night. The nurse called to set me up with oxygen. No word from the doctor or follow up. I was so upset and don’t want him to treat me any longer.
1 /5
Veri Shol Honestly, I think he is a great doctor, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. My dad needed to get a procedure done. I was very nervous for my father. But as soon as Dr. Soto came into the room. I felt good energy, and he was confident and positive and made my dad feel more comfortable before I left the procedure room. I knew everything would be ok. Thanks, Dr. Soto.

Teri Cannino 6 messages were left for Dr. Soto, between our family, and the nurses in the hospital, and not one returned call! My father ended up passing away and none of our questions were ever answered.

Susan Kincaid Good luck if you come here for pulmonary care. I have been trying to get my oxygen for over 6 months and hear nothing but excuses!
