Lorena This hospital lacks of good medical staff plain simple. If you are not white you will not be treated with dignity or any respect at all. I am from out of state and unfortunately have been anemic all my life. I wasn’t feeling well and I went into the emergency department for a blood transfusion and medication refill @ 11 am. The waiting room was pretty empty and they told me I had to wait for a room to be available. When I went in I was put in the hallway where I waited for about two hours before the doctor came to talk to me. I had came in with my kids and they didn’t let me bring them in with me. More people kept coming in and where place in rooms while I was kept waiting behind. My hemoglobin was below 5 and I needed that blood ASAP. The nurses kept lying to my face about not being able to help me get my kids to the hallway where I was, my kids were so worried and so was I. I was about to walk out when they finally decided to put me in a room. The main nurse decided to bring in a student as well and didn’t even bother to ask if I was ok with it. Then a guy came in the room started typing things in and didn’t even introduce himself or nothing while the student nurse tried to put my shirt up and the room door was open too. I had to say something at that time. The RN nurse then said that he was a doctor. No manners from him. I had the worst experience of my life! I know hospitals are not supposed to be a fun place but I strongly believe that if anyone decides to go into the medical field is because they care about helping people feel better and have compassion for others as well as respect and ethics, sympathy and honesty this hospital lacks of everything above and more. I ended up leaving this place @ 7pm feeling worse than when I came in. This hospital is full of Racist, unprofessional, unethical, rude medical staff and that’s a shame. This hospital doesn’t care about anyone that is not white! Shame on them!

Debi Hudgel Brought our elderly mother in for being dizzy and not feeling well to emergency. Spent 8 hours waiting on tests to get done. She was offered nothing to eat or drink. No IV half the time her vitals were not hooked up. She had an open wound that the doctor took the bandages off to look at it. Never told the nurse to rewrap it. It was still bleeding. 2 hours later we finally got someone to wrap it. That nurse was amazing. No communication what so ever. Sat for at least hour each time with no one coming in. Rude person at the nurses station. This emergency is horrible. I will never come back. Did I mention one of the male nurses was in the hall making fun of another patient. If you value your time and your health. I recommend anywhere but here.

Madison portee I’m currently on hold after being on hold with a front desk person at UF Health North Named Monica for 20+ minutes regarding my mother’s room and transfer number. I have never had an issue with getting transferred to the line in my mom’s room but for some reason I’m on hold once again going on 15 minutes with no warning. They told me okay we will transfer and put me on hold instead. This is very unprofessional and I record all my calls. I just want to check the status on my mothers health after two days of being in the hospital they still have not connected me with my mom or anyone useful.

tori vrabel Honestly, the billing department sucks horribly but the 3 stars were earned by how amazing my delivery was because of the staff. Nurse Carly, Brittney and Kelly, and midwife kelsey were absolutely amazing. Did everything to make me feel comfortable and made the experience great. I honestly can’t get over how awesome they were, if you need a good place for birth those 4 incredible people alone make UF health worth it. Carly was with me almost my whole stay and I can’t stop telling people how much I loved her, it felt like having a big sister there with me. Even with the billing issues I would recommend this hospital for birth just bc of them.

Chris Jones Ive visited this Hospital on multiple occasions to see family in Tower A and Tower B. The nursing employees have gone, down hill over the past few months. I feel like this Hospital is racist towards Caucasian employees. Why are all of the nursing workers all Africa Americans? I havent seen not even one Caucasian, Hispanic or Asian employees anymore. This makes my family and I feel a certain kind of way.

Chris Szczepanski This is by far the most pitiful hospital I have ever stepped foot in!! There is absolutely no sense of urgency nor knowledge with the staff, it is virtually impossible to reach the person you are looking for. Do not waste your time playing phone tag with these people. I highly recommend anyone who needs the proper professional care to look elsewhere. This hospital is lucky a 1 star is the minimum you can leave for a review.

James Millaway Perspective is reality. 2-5 stars depending on where you stand… I’m a 4.4. I love the medical service I receive OCONUS. I was OCONUS for 28 years and then retired. Culture SHOCK. Returning to the States was a shock. I tried civilian medical and on base. TRICARE has changed or is not the same as OCONUS. JAX NAVHOSP is doing pretty good for the bureaucracy that is Humana. Dislikes: I have NEVER seen my PCM. I see interns that cannot prescribe medications or referrals. They make a list of issues and present them to an Attending Doctor. I assume the attending gets overwhelmed and the data gets lost. Also, the Pharmacy is… I’ve seen better. I haven’t had a bad experience yet but an elderly man next to me was waiting for 4 hours. As technology progresses, the medical system is leaving the Vietnam veterans behind. He was going to the counter and they were verbally kicking him in the “jimmy” because he was clueless. I could even help because he didn’t understand the system. Someone should have called his doctor or gently walked him to his PCM… damn. I should have done this. Today’s military is unsat uniforms and walking over trash without the integrity to pick it up. Integrity & empathy Will fix this place. Likes: They don’t do needles stuff. When I had a civilian PCM they did so much needles junk just to overcharge TRICARE. I would really like to see my assigned PCM one day. I am on month 2 of referrals and I have received 1 of 3. Remember. Perspective; I’ve been OCONUS Active and they step up.

Al Toogs The Pharmacy is the slowest ever, took them 46 minutes to get my medicine to me even though I was in uniform. what is the purpose of it? And this happened so many times. This department is one of the causes of my stress, my blood sugar is going up again. What a disappointment!

Kris Carnes My wife visited this hospital twice for medical issues and health concerns. Her third time needing to be seen she opted to go to civilian hospital which found out she had AML Leukemia. I absolutely recommend going to a civilian hospital if possible.

Carrole-Ann Wilson The appointment line is such a pain. Rude representatives don’t make you feel comfortable scheduling appointments and ask invasive questions that in my opinion and previous experience, don’t need to be asked.

saimayukii lol I don’t ever leave reviews so it’s not gonna be professional, I recommend not coming here and go to another office, because why did they reschedule my blood test TWICE, first time because they don’t take “order requests” over the phone and you have to go tell them at the front desk you want an std test anyways we told them last week in person and they rescheduled the test a week later today, so they called us prior morning of before going in, asking me why I wanted to order an std test? What kind of question is that. So we head there today and they ended up telling us KIBLER still hasn’t accepted the order request and she had a week lol and wanted to reschedule appoint to next week that’s 3 times and now they told us to go to quest and do it, kibler sucks and front desk sucks too

Jose S I arrived early to check in for my appt. Staff is courteous and professional. What I did not appreciate was the lack of communication on the wait that I would have to endure. I left work at 2pm for a 2:45 appt with Dr Levine. Checked in at 2:33pm and a few minutes later, the nurse called me to take vitals and place me in a room for my appt. Nurse asked a few questions and before she left , I was informed that the Doctor was running a bit behind. It was understandable but what was not is that no-one came into the room to check on me and let me know when I would be seen by the Doctor. As I waited. At approximately 3:33 , I walked out of the room and asked if it was normal to wait to be seen by the Doctor well past the appt time and was told that it was. Walked to check out and asked for a refund of my co-pay for which the staff graciously refunded. They were apologetic and I thanked them as this was not their fault. Will now have to look for a new doctor as I have scheduled this new patient visit months in advance. Never saw or talked to the doctor during the appt time. Three stars are for the front office staff and none for my consultation with the Dr. If you use this medical office, recommend that you obtain information on possible wait times for your appointment. Seems that Dr Levine simply does not have the time to take on new patients! Keyword here is communication.

Madison Gosney After waiting 40 minutes to be called back for my scheduled blood draw, Beverly proceeded to give me the single most painful blood draw I have EVER had (and I have had it done MANY times)! I told her it was really painful and she said “ok just let me finish” she proceeded to changed out the viles and moved the need around in my arm, visibly lifting my skin with the needle, it hurt so badly that I YELLED from the pain, I told her I have never had this painful of a blood draw and she just whispered “sorry”. When she was finished I told her it was so painful and uncomfortable and she said “sorry. At least I got it all”. Beverly needs to retire or go back to school! I almost cried when I got into my car because it was such a horrible experience. Before having your blood work done here, ask if Beverly is going to be your phlebotomist, and if she is, REFUSE to have your work done by her!

Vonna Scott Checked emergency room at 8:30 am on Tuesday 9/3. Told me I was being admitted at 6 pm. At 11m they still didn’t have a room available. 9/4 at midnight, the move me to an exam room and said once they get a room I would be sent upstairs! It’s 5:36 pm and still no room. Was told I have to stay overnight again, but with no room. The bathroom that I must use is down the hall and around the corner and is disgusting! They have not cleaned the bathroom and it has a horrible smell. No paper towels or soap to wash and dry your hands. To top it all off, my room has not been cleaned. Meaning no trash was picked up or emptied. Not to mention, I’m still sleeping on bloody sheets from yesterday when they tried to put in a butterfly needle to draw blood. This place is absolutely disgusting and should be closed down. Think I’m going to have Ben Becker from the news investigate this place! Stay far away!

Amethyst I dont even know where to start I havent been to a hospital in almost a decade. Im healthy and just never need to go. But I also am reluctant to go when I need to because of the way Ive been treated at other hospitals! I ended up getting bitten by May e a venomous spider amd forced myself to go to the ER. Ive never been here and I really did not want to come! I cannot express how much the medical professionals and hospital staff in general here has changed my mind! They are truly amazing! Genuine, friendly, helpful, good listeners, professional, courteous and respectful I could keep going. They are actually unbelievable! I wish I could remember all their names but suffice it to say that this place and the doctors, nurses and staff will not let you down! You will feel like your concerns matter to them. You will feel valued. Great job! * Special thanks to the doctor from New Orleans * Special thanks to the nurse who told me about BBQ sauce on shepherds pie And the CNA/STNA/phlebotomist who ran my IV. Truly amazing! Yall are awesome!

Hailey Fitzgerald I went to this hospital because I am pregnant and have been experiencing intense nausea and vomiting. I explained to the doctor (Louise Webb) all the natural remedies I had been doing. I explained that the natural remedies were causing me to vomit and not helping curb the nausea. I was then told that “some times we have to do things we don’t like.” I then explained that I had not been able to keep down food in weeks and that I was only vomiting up stomach acid. Her response was “well we’ll be able to see if you’re ACTUALLY throwing up everything.” Louise Webb was condescending and rude. I do not recommend this hospital unless it’s your ONLY option. The Doctors seem to make up their mind before ever listening to what you’re experiencing.

Ashley Remy If I could give zero stars I would I am now suing for medical negligence. This is supposed to be the best place In the country and if you want doctors to completely ignore you gaslight you and try and say your abdominal pain is mental. Spend hours and go here. This place is awful they have been zero help every single time. The doctors could care less about their patients. Absolutely traumatizing and horrific place

Shanaya Dotivala If you want doctors/ nurses/ and staff members who will hang up with phone on you, dodge your calls, not answer your questions in the portal, order unnecessary tests for the insurance money, and not provide appointments in a reasonable time frame then the Mayo Clinic GI department is for you. I have lived in multiple cities across up and down the east coast and have never experienced such unprofessionalism from a health care facility. If I could leave 0 stars I would.

Luke Sellers Been a patient of a very kind and helpful GI (Dr. Desai) and another doctor who, to me at least, was dismissive and generally a jackass both to me and also to his staff while in front of me, and his name is Dr. Francis (Frank) Farraye. He may be one of the most published doctors on IBD (Crohn’s and Colitis) in the world, but evidently that’s just made him arrogant and given him a bad bedside manner. To be fair to him, a 3rd cousin of mine said he has seen Dr. Farraye and had a good experience. I would not, in general, recommend the IBD clinic at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, as a patient who has seen 6+ separate gastroenterologists, and is chronically ill. Dr. Farraye was dismissive of any question I had (no, they weren’t stupid “I read on Google/WebMD….etc” style questions), and when a pillcam test went wrong but showed highly visible photos of ulcerations and erythema in my stomach with no known cause, he didn’t even want to retest or do anything about it. He literally made it abundantly clear that he couldn’t care less about my wellbeing or gastro issues. A comment to Mayo Clinic Gastroenterology team as a whole: most of your patients have butt problems, requiring them to have many bowel movements, often many more than the average healthy person. As you’re (and as any other qualified professional or normal human being would also be aware) aware, this type of malady such as Crohn’s, IBS or Ulcerative Colitis can cause lots of discomfort at the anus. On behalf of all IBS, Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis patients having no other choice than to have their bowel movements at your clinic specialized in treating these issues, I’d suggest the Gastro dept and IBD clinic patient bathrooms be supplied with better toilet paper than the standard single ply sandpaper that will cause massive irritation to an already-irritated anal region. Other specialties make accommodations for their patients; pediatrics have small chairs and fish tanks and toys and televisions with kid shows in their waiting rooms; fertility clinics generally have no-child policies in their clinics to not trigger sadness in the minds of the women undergoing or having had infertility and miscarriages/stillbirths who come into their office; orthopedics and pain management doctor offices often have better/comfortable seating for those patients with mobility and pain issues…..BUT the best medical facility (Mayo Clinic) has a gastroenterology and IBD Clinic office that doesn’t even offer sanitary wipes or double/triple ply comfortable soft toilet paper for their patients often dealing with chronic irritation and bleeding from frequent bowel movements. SAD. Please take this all the way up the chain of command for facilities management or other relevant parties who could remedy this issue. All GI offices should have high quality toilet paper of sanitary flushable wet wipes for their MANY patients with irritation from bowel movements, irritation from cleaning out for a colonoscopy/endoscopy (if relevant), fistulas and hemorrhoids, etc. I vote to make it standard practice. If I had the money (but I don’t), I’d establish a donor fund to Mayo Clinic restricted specifically to providing high quality toilet tissue and wipes for Gastro patients in the bathrooms there. I recommend Dr. Desai, as he cares to help me and communicated with other departments as Mayo’s model of care is framed to do, but Dr. Farraye is not recommended, as he showed nothing but arrogance, irritability to even have to see me, and although I have other complex health issues/diseases managed simultaneously by other departments at The Mayo Clinic, he never would formulate care with communications to those other specialists, but rather told me to get with the other doctors and such.

Sarah K I saw Dr.Okafor for chronic stomach pain. The appointment went very well and I am excited to finally have a doctor willing to help me!! I was given plenty of time during the appointment for the doctor to explain the tests that I will be having done, and symptoms that I am experiencing and what it could mean. The entire building and campus was well kept and beautiful. Everyone working here was helpful and friendly.

Antal Barbela I should have checked the reviews prior to going. I can see why the reviews are so bad. It’s quite evident they don’t really care—typical medical mean girl types and egos. PA seemed new and inexperienced; Doctor seemed young and inexperienced—yet both lacking humility to recognzie it and proceed as such. Not confident I’ll get the answer I need here. Ill have to find a different practice. We pay so much for healthcare in the US and this is literally the best we can do? . Not impressed overall. Starting from my arrival and the fact that the building garage was full (coned off with a sign stating such) and I couldn’t find parking after circling other lots within a reasonable walking distance. I called the main line and was told to go to valet. Valet costs 9 dollars and they don’t even take card only cash. It would have been nice to have been informed of this. Considering how much money Mayo has and makes, they can’t comp patients a valet parking spot when their parking facilities are full? Corporate greed knows no bounds in the US. Note I am a patient but share a google account. - Maria

Misfit Don’t listen to the other reviews MHRC is a great place. The staff are super friendly. They’re great at de-escalating situations and keeping problems to a minimum they understand different kinds of people and they understand how to talk to people. They’re very good at recognizing how you feel in that moment And they know exactly what to say. Everybody is human we all messed up so we can’t expect the staff to be perfect but I will say they are definitely in my top 10 cause I’ve been to a few since I was a child And trust me I’ve been to some bad ones, but MRC is definitely like 4 Especially with the audition of Miss Allison, she’s been Taking care of me since I was like 16 And their doctors & Techs They’re great. I don’t know man I might just be high LOL But I’m leaving for Oregon to do job course soon And I truly believe that if MHRC had Not saved my life in the way they did. I would not be here. I would not be in this situation. I would not be prospering the way I am right now so please If you are considering inpatient outpatient, whatever take me to consideration that their staff is extremely friend And remember everybody’s human, but they do a great job at what they’re supposed to do God bless

Ashley Ski Horrible. I came here for mental health treatment for anxiety and mild depression. The lady I talked to in the beginning to fill out my paperwork seemed genuine but in fact, wasnt. Im a teenager in high school that was paying for my own bills but lived under my parents roof. After they asked me about the household income, they charged me 10× more than what I could afford because out of no where they said, "we charge based off of household income." I have no part in what the entire household brings in; youre willing to charge me about $500 when I only make barely enough money for gas. Its ridiculous!

All were professional, caring, and gave unhurried care. Thank you for giving us confidence that the baby will be in good hands.

Kyndal Herring Called to let them know I had to go to the ER (they told me to call uf immediately to set up a sooner appointment) while pregnant for vaginal bleeding, which any common sense would tell you thats a serious issue, especially with a history of miscarriages. Sharonda told me that theres nothing they could do about that. They are always rude when I call, and do a horrible job on their after visit notes. They do not do their job correctly. It really hurts that because people have Medicaid they decide to treat us like crap. Please educate your employees on customer service, its their whole job. Take people seriously when they have actual health issues.

Nikiera Robinson My experience so far has been excellent! They get me in quick and sometimes my little autistic son he’s 4 has to come with me and they never say a word about him being with me and my husband. I had a couple little incidents that happened but nothing or nobody is perfect so I didn’t hold that against them. I enjoy coming here and I appreciate the wonderful staff that I have caring for me during this time.

Megan Dellinger I came in today 11/13/24. I had an appointment scheduled was under the impression it was a completely different hospital( that’s my fault I should have checked) however I’m 13 weeks and 6 days and I have always been a very high risk pregnancy, if I have the support and medication that I need my pregnancies go very smoothly. When I called over a month and half ago to schedule this appointment I was told that it was a normal appointment. “Normal” for my last 2 pregnancies was, blood work, history, ultrasound and to discuss plans moving forward. That’s not the case here. Your first appointment is a history ONLY appointment. I HAVE to be on blood thinners while I’m pregnant I get P.Es and DVTs while I’m pregnant I have had extensive blood work done and to find out why and it can’t never be pin pointed. I explain this to 4 diffent people to I emphasize the importance of me being on thinners and everyone completely dismissed and sai “ oh well the doctor had to prescribe that to you” so when I asked when I can see a doc I was told 3-4 weeks. I have an active blood clot that I can feel behind my knee (also told them about that) and they STILL wouldn’t let me see or speak to a doc. THEY SENT ME HOME WITH A LIFE THREATENING issue with absolutely 0 care in the world. AS SOON as my chart is updated with nursing notes I’m going somewhere else even if I have to drive an hour. That’s just the RNs. The rooms, lobby and surfaces are beyond unsanitary. I had dried blood on the floor in my room, the whole place hasn’t been properly swept or mop in weeks, in the corners you could see a very clear layer of dirt. The fist nurse that walked in coughed In to her hand touch the keyboard her face and then counter before excusing her self to go take medicine for her “cold” never once did I see her sanitize her hands while entering or exiting a room as someone who had work in several clinics I was extremely concerned and unimpressed. This hospital needs to seriously be shut down I don’t even know how they pass any sort of inspection.

Baby hand Grenade They are my prenatal care providers and I love them. It can be a long wait but its definitely worth it. The staff is so nice and caring. Every time I have a question, they answer it patiently and they put my mind at ease. Not like some doctors who will either act annoyed with you or try to rush you out of the room. They really take the time to address any concerns that you may have regarding yourself or your unborn baby. Definitely go to them and I would say especially so if you dont have insurance. It can be a struggle to find a place to accept you if you dont have insurance or if you have medicaid. Give them a call as soon as the test is positive lol. You wont regret it.

I was then told someone would call me back to set up an appointment but they still have not for over a week. What is going on here? I have insurance and want to be seen but I feel they have no desire to even set up an appointment. Place is mismanaged.

Rose Martinez Absolutely frustrating! We took our son for a consultation back in late March and we were told someone would give us a call to schedule a surgical extraction. I called 2 weeks later and left a voicemail. Then another voicemail in April. I have called every other day after that and goes straight to voicemail. It is now the end of May and left a third voicemail today. It is so frustrating trying to get help for my son whose tooth is hurting and needs to be taken out. I’m sure you get tons of calls daily, but come on, this is ridiculous and so unprofessional! I just want someone to return my calls.

miyah jackson I literally NEVER leave reviews but i called to make a new patient appointment around march/ april and they told me they were so “booked” i would have to wait until october for an appointment. I have teeth growing under my gums which cause me unbearable pain. so i didn’t want to wait 6 months but my dentist referred me here and it seems they were the only office to accept my medicare , october get here and i call to see the exact day of my appointment and they tell me my appointment has been moved back to a further date because they called us and no one answered the phone. but when we set the appointment they had to have a phone number on FILE. so after she tell me my appointment i’ve waited 6 months for is canceled i ask for another appointment and she tell me i can’t have one until november so i take it because i don’t wanna wait until 2025. i have yet to have my appointment yet but it’s absolutely hard trying to get an appointment here and i wouldn’t do it if i was you and you were in urgent pain. go else where

Kristi Strickland I have been trying to get my daughter in surgery here for a year. After calling multiple times over several months, I finally got an appointment for a consultation. The appointment itself was great. Customer service personnel was friendly and professional the entire time. My issue is with the lack of communication. When you call, you 98% of the time get sent to voicemail, where it is stated that after leaving your information, you will get a call back within 24 hours. I know there are staffing issues and that sometimes things have to wait until the next day.. Having said that, I have left 4 different messages over the last month with no response!!! I was told I would get a call to schedule surgery in a week. Its now been over a month. My daughter is still in pain, still uncomfortable, with no end in sight. Im disappointed because, as I stated, the appointment and all the employees I encountered were professional and kind, but this is truly unacceptable. My hope in leaving this review is that this situation can be resolved, and my daughter can get what she needs.

Penny Marino This is absolutely a terrible place. My daughter went for a consultation and they never called her back to set up the surgery. She has called them over and over again begging them to call her back to get this scheduled before her teeth fall out of her head. Now they are billing her for the consultation and I just don’t think she should have to pay for that, being they never call her back. She has been forced to find a different doctors office and will now have to pay them for a consultation. This is totally unacceptable. Not to mention the staff was rude to her the day of her consultation.

Some of the other support staff need some training. The food in the dining area is always changing to give you a variety to choose from.

Arg New There is no compassion here. I’m at the ER hospital with a family member, and I’ve been deeply saddened by the treatment I’ve witnessed. A lady was poorly treated by staff, with one member continuously probing her with questions, interrupting her, and failing to address her concerns properly. It was painful to hear someone in need being treated this way. The hospital is also visibly unclean, with no proper hygiene or safety practices in place. Additionally, the nurses speak as if they are tired and uninterested in what the patients have to say, which only adds to the lack of care and professionalism. You can almost hear them rolling their eyes. To make matters worse, patients are stacked nearby each other as if they’re on an open grocery aisle, with no privacy or dignity afforded. This is not the best of Jacksonville, Florida, and I sincerely hope improvements are made to patient care, staff behavior, and the overall cleanliness of this facility. The people here deserve better.

Nicholas Amirault Good luck trying to find an entrance not blocked off. They set and forget people. My wife was there with hypoglycemia and a low heart rate. She was there almost 12 hours and occasionally someone would Come tell her they were getting her a bed. They never did. They never even hooked her up for monitoring.

Harley McIntyre Avoid the pediatric ER here. Spare yourself and your baby some trauma and go to Wolfsons ER instead. Worst experience ever here, as soon as I transferred care to Wolfsons my baby was treated properly, and I, her mother, was finally treated with respect and kindness.

Samuel Smith the doctors there do not care about being a true doctor even when they’re your primary care physician they will still treat you like an assembly line do blood work and pretend to analyze it while never warning you of anything you should be aware…no one with actual health insurance should use this place if you’re using them now just seek someone else before they surprise you with their lack of competency and basic respect for human beings they’re good at faking it though but really should be ashamed of themselves in that profession specifically
