4 /5 Cora: I attended this church 3 times after moving down here trying to find the right church home. Great church, sticks to biblical teaching not all about a performance, motivational talk or lights/smoke show type of sermon which is a relief. That being said the third visit the sermon was about Matthew 34-36 and the topic of telling the truth. My 8 year old was present with me when of all examples the pastor decided to go into detail how Santa is a lie and not real. Which IS TRUE. I became a believer 1 year ago, my husband is not. I talked about not lying about Santa, he had no desire to nix that tradition. So when the kids asked I said nothing. So not to disrespect my husband or my God. If I were at dinner with an unbelieving family would I say Mommy and Daddy dont participate in grace because the are going to hell and dont believe. is that true? Yes. Is there a GRACEFUL way to share truth that is not forceful or eager to spoil others family traditions. Yes. Dont lie is pretty self explanatory, the nuances of application require wisdom. Lacking grace when explaining Jesus teachings is just not for me, I wont be attending again.
