5 /5 Theo Chenet: Honest mechanic 4.5 stars (leaving a 4 felt wrong to me). I have an old Toyota truck with 250,000 miles on it and do most of the work myself but every few years I like to have someone else check things out. I know a lot about cars and can sniff out dishonesty. The work he told me that needed to be done all checked out as legitimate.
My rack and pinion was replaced because of leaks. He tightened my wheel bearing spindle after noticing a bit of play on one of my wheels and added a quart of transmission fluid after noticing slow shifts. He did this without piling on a bunch of unnecessary work and charged fair.
There was one issue with the rack and pinion repair that he took ownership of and fixed it immediately the following day.
While the repair did require me to go back to the shop I value honesty above all else in mechanics.
