5 /5 Paige Rausch: This morning I reached out to the team at Terry Wynter, owned by Alan Smith, and spoke to Darren about an 86 year old lady I had met on Thursday night. Her SUV had encountered a mechanical issue, AAA dispatched a battery truck. After over an hour sitting in her suv @ Cypress Lake Dr/Daniels at US 41, it was determined the vehicle needed an alternator. AAA resent out a request for a tow truck. It took another full 2 hours, and it was 9pm so I asked the lady if she would like a ride home with Lil Dawg and I knowing the tow truck would bring her SUV to her home soon. It was a long process!
She asked who I would call today for the repair, the only name that I could offer was Alan Smith at Terry Wynter.
This morning at 9am she called and said I am ready to call .. can you check to see if they can get the part and have my vehicle back to me by close of business. Without fail I got the shop on the phone, gave them her address and the vehicle type along with what believed was the issue. It needed a new alternator.
Darren took over... Called the woman, and got the tow truck to her home by Bell Tower by 10am. They diagnosed the issue, and noticed a couple of other minor issues ...communicated with her. Got authorization for the repairs. The vehicle was finished by late afternoon...they sent the nicest gentlemen to bring her to the shop on Fowler Street and pick up her vehicle. They were both from the Milwaukee area and the ride was filled with stories from their former home. Alan Smith the consummate gentleman met her at the truck as she was getting out -- he extended his arm to help her get out. They walked into the office, and she paid for the work and was home by 530pm. To say they earned my appreciation for the effort and genuine concern is nothing compared to the FAN they have in a delightful 86 year old who was amazed at the white glove service from the start to finish. She could not believe they had the tow truck at her home in under an hour, and the work was done in one day. No one has ever treated her so well, the suv according to her was driving like it did when she got it in 2006! They had not done brake work or tires, but it felt like it was aligned or had a tighter grip in handling. Given this weekend is Mothers Day, and she lives alone the team at Terry Wynter took extra effort to wrap her into the family! This is not the first or only time I have shared my super friends number and been thanked for the best outcome/ service/repair. I thought it was worth the soup to nuts story because many people have never known this old fashioned level of customer service is available in Fort Myers...it is not enough to only have FIVE STARS to rate the experience. I am forever thankful for my friends helping the lady out today. New customers, you can trust youll be in great hands for whatever your service needs are when you call Terry Wynter!!!
