5 /5 Alan Christian: Is there such a thing as an "honest mechanic?" Most people dont normally think so. I was given the recommendation to take one of my vehicles to Randy at Modern Auto by a family member. I was complaining about the auto repair place that is literally next door to my house. I took my truck there to have some work done and I was treated like nothing but a number. The receptionist was fine, but I asked the two guys behind the counter if they were the owners, and they grunted at me and seemed put out they had to talk to a customer. I spent about $3k with them. They did ok on the work, but I wont go back because if I feel like they dont care about me as a person and customer, I will go somewhere else. Modern Auto is an hour from me. Randy took the time to explain exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, and what he recommened be done, and also what didnt need to be done. He treated me like he cared about my business, me vehicle, and me as a person. I ended up driving back over to have him work on another vehicle for me. Excellent work, good price, good for their word, responsive and communicate well. I left their business with a smile on my face because I was reminded what it is like to go to a place that cares about you..... I highly recommend Randy, Nate and Modern Auto.
