Another shop misdiagnosed a whining noise as a water pump issue and quoted $1,200. Nichelson found the real problem — a failing turbo — and sent me to the dealer so it was covered under warranty. They saved me from unnecessary repairs and gave honest advice that was far more reasonable than the dealer. As a single mom, that means everything. Even though he passed away 10 years ago, every visit reminds me of him and the trust he had in this shop. Recently, my car started making a high-pitched whining noise that got louder whenever I accelerated. Since Nichelson wasn’t open that day, I took it to another shop that diagnosed it as a bad water pump bearing and suggested replacing the stretch belt and even a timing belt — quoting about $1,200. When Nichelson opened Monday, I brought it straight to them. They quickly diagnosed the real issue as a failing turbo and advised me to take it to the dealer to have it covered under my powertrain warranty. They also pointed out my car has a timing chain, not a belt, so there was never a need to replace one, saving me from spending a lot on unnecessary repairs. The dealer confirmed Nichelson was exactly right — the turbo had failed and it was fully covered under warranty. The dealership also recommended additional maintenance like brakes and a fuel induction service. I reached back out to Nichelson, and they let me know I had time and could safely wait until my next oil change, plus their pricing was much more reasonable than what the dealer quoted. It all just shows the difference in their honesty, experience, and willingness to truly look out for their customers. Nichelson is knowledgeable, thorough, and exactly the kind of place my dad trusted for years. As a single mom, that means everything — and even my mom, now a widow, feels completely comfortable bringing her car here too. I highly recommend Nichelson to anyone.
