5 /5 Joyce Hinzman: I discovered Motorcity Mechanic/David after receiving a check engine light on my 2013 Dodge Charger in June 2024. I had the check engine light tested and code found was P0520, bad oil pressure sensor/switch. I was actually thinking that I could replace it myself until I watched David’s YouTube video. I was so impressed by his video/video’s that I began to think/believe that he may be able to figure out the ongoing issue with the brakes on my car.
I have been to 4 mechanics, including the Dodge dealership, here in Tampa, Fl and still had a horrible vibration upon applying the brakes. I was told many things including that I didn’t know how to drive and not to drive in the rain???? WHAT this is Florida, rains a lot!!! This issue actually started in 2018 at 55,957 miles. I finally contacted David, scheduled an appointment, for November 19th and drove the almost 500 miles to Augusta, Ga.
I have delayed posting this review as I continue test driving the brakes and guess what I no longer have the horrible vibration, I no longer have to think about how to stop the car as I did in the past: slowly apply brakes then let up, slowly apply then let up etc. to try and control the vibration. Now I just apply the brakes just like normal. The mileage in at David’s shop was 112,139, the mileage now is 114,384.
I, at this point can’t say enough about how I was received and treated by David as the issues with my 2013 Dodge Charger were addressed!!!! David showed so much compassion and was so concerned that I was paying to stay locally while he repaired my car. But that was not an issue for me as the time spend driving to Augusta and staying locally has been less time spent arranging rides to and from the mechanics here in Tampa along with even spending countless hours waiting for my car at the dealership not to mention the money spent and the brake issue still not resolved.
I choose David as he specializes in Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles along with the excellent reviews from his customers. As everything on the internet said not to drive the car with an oil pressure warning I asked David his opinion as to drive the car this distance or not. David said, “in a perfect world it would be fine” and he was right, as I made the trip with no problems. May I mention that upon receiving the check engine light that I parked the car in the garage and just exclusively drove my 2023 Charger. (It was parked since June until November.)
David phoned me quite often to keep me updated on his diagnostic troubleshooting findings on my car. He would pick me up from my local lodging for several test drives and never once talked down to me, oh did I mention that I’m a girl. Didn’t matter to David as I was a customer who needed her car repaired!!!
Again, I will never be able to thank David enough for his excellent expertise along with caring attitude. I only have good words to express my gratitude; brilliant, genius, caring, genuine, honest, mechanic with very fair pricing and commitment to solving the problem.
I would travel the 500 miles/7-hour drive again with a gigantic smile on my face. He is the very best experienced mechanic ever providing excellent honest service there is just not enough words to express my sincere gratitude!!! I would highly recommend David’s automotive repair shop, The Motorcity Mechanic Garage, to anyone and everyone as he takes pride in his work and it shows.
David. Thank you so very much!!!
Sincerely,
Joyce
