Carolyn What a lovely place to spend the day. There is a little cafe and gift shop, the exhibits themselves, and then there is a great courtyard and hangout spot outside where you can just sit and read or eat lunch. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and the exhibits were unique and beautiful. Id come here every time I visit Savannah. It was so lovely listening to students talk to their professors about art and architecture; SCAD is the best. Pro tip: if you get into the city before check-in time like I did, they will check your luggage for you. You can hang out here and walk all around to other places without having to carry around your bags. Tickets are only $10 and worth every penny.

Louis Ades I was fortunate enough to get a private tour of the museum by the chief curator Daniel Palmer. There were 3 live exhibits and the artwork was beautiful. The history and architecture were fascinating. They will be opening 6 more at the end of February 2024 so I was bummed I missed out on those. I’ll have to come back!

Dave Baldwin Can’t speak to the quality of the education, but they have a “campus-wide arboretum” which is fabulous! Numerous trees and shrubs around campus have signs naming them, along with QR codes taking you to descriptions on-line.

Ryan willis Horrible. Took a year off from my masters after the death of a family member, and when I went back, was told that none of my credits would count, and that I must start over from the beginning. I had two classes left to graduate.

Harleigh Bowers I have been a student at South University, Savannah, since October 2013. I will graduate in June 2016, and I have had the most pleasurable experience here. To read all of the negative reviews shocks me. From my first conversation with an admissions rep, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. The professors have always been easily accessible and willing to answer any questions or concerns that Ive had. I have had no problem talking to my Financial Aid officer, Adviser, or the Registrars Office. There have been times that I did have to leave a message or send them an e-mail, but they always returned my phone call within a decent amount of time. And if it was an emergency, I went straight to their office and was able to meet with someone. I have met some wonderful classmates, as well as faculty and staff, who will always been connections in my future career. I would, and already do, recommend this school to others. Im not sure why others have had such a horrible experience. But I recommend having a little patience and putting forth an effort without expecting a hand out. I love South University and everyone at this campus! And will possibly enrolling in the MBA program this summer.

Kathy Burrell No matter what school you go to, school is what you make it. Lets be honest, every school is in the business of educating their student and making money. At the end of the day, it is how bad you want to get your education. As far as South University, I have really enjoyed the experience. The Admission Rep, Finance Counselor, and Academic Counselor have all been great. I have been proactive and when you call, they will respond within the same business day. One thing I did like is my Professor will call you by phone. He checked up on me and see if I had additional questions about the course. I submitted an assignment 3 days earlier. He even gave me the opportunity to allow me to resubmit my assignment before he starts to grade it. Everyone has been great and very responsive. So, far I have had no problems. No professor has never reached out to me other staff members have not reached out to me as much South University staff have. College I believe is about being self sufficient and taking responsibility for yourself. No matter what school you go to, college is a true investment and you utilize your investment, it is going to be up to you. As far as South University, its a great school and the staff is great.

Marlo Odums Its sad that a hbcu is being run like this . The like of authority on this campus is embarrassing. This is bad leadership on this campus. Never can get anyone to help with any problems from financial aid to housing problems. Savvannah lets do better. To think i encourage my child to attend a hbcu.

Jaime Duncan Do not apply! Their application process is the worst that I have ever experienced. They do not follow up with the required information to assist the applicant with the process. I have made calls on a continuous basis, and it seems that you are a burden if you ask for assistance. Now, they are stating that I have to reapply by paying the application fee again and resubmitting everything again. No, thank you. I expected more and will not take part in anything that deals with this HBCU.

Luciana Fun fact: this used to be a hotel before the Savannah College of Art and Design purchased it to turn it into a student residence. There are many, many stories about what used to happen at the hotel, and people say the building is currently haunted. Theres a specific floor where students claim to have heard or seen creepy things during the night. Still, its a cool place to live in if you are planning on staying on campus.

Brandon Karcher Located in the heart of the historic downtown area, being a resident of O-House is full of perks. Everything to do is within walking distance, from the historic cobblestoned River Street, to City Market, to the Jen Library and Trustees Theater, to the plentiful restaurants and coffee shops. Connected to Oglethorpe House is JOs, a very nice dining hall, and Club SCAD, a fitness center. Oglethorpe House was recently renovated and has a brand new lobby with a beautiful ballroom and bathrooms; the new color scheme on the exterior brings new life to one of my favorite residence halls. The bus system is also very good here, O-House has its own dedicated red line, since the standard red line tends to get filled up from the Turner House stop. The main Residence Life and Housing Offices are also located at Oglethorpe House, which is great, because they are all amazing people. Rooms are large and spacious, every room has its own private bathroom.

Vince Potter Place may be a "historic" building but its a mess. My daughter stayed here and hated her room. Needs to be completely renovated or torn down. Fresh coat of paint every few years will not hide the mechanical issues with the a/c, wifi or plumbing and certainly not the odors. Find other housing options for your SCAD student if you care about them at all.

Brandon Karcher Academic building for the school of digital media. I love the new upgrades to the building like the extra wall space, waterproof carpeting, and large windows in the common hall area. The building is available 24/7, and Ive never had any problem with parking. Hardware and software is always up-to-date. The layout of the rooms can be a bit confusing though, so Im glad they added a floor plan map next the elevators.

Willa C.E. Its like a prison, made out of an old coffin factory. All cement, shades of gray, and minimalist in the dorms. Really scary place. No wonder so many animation students kill themselves!
