L Grabb This is a beautiful church located near the "Million Dollar" Macoupin County Courthouse and the Cannonball Jail in Carlinville. This church was founded in 1858 by German Immigrants. Their services have been held in the same beautiful sanctuary since 1878. #bucketlist

Kimberly Heigert I walked into this church about three years ago. I entered the building after pausing, you know ~ anticipating the looks and whispers that accompany most newcomers to a congregation...and to my relief and delight, I was met with something new and wonderful! Without a moments delay I was met with opened arms, smiling faces, and true hearts. We are ALL human, with differences that are many....as people get to "know" each other, these differences become obvious. What is refreshing at Memorial Christian Church is we ARE Family and we accept the differences within and embrace the Spirit of Our Purpose here. At Memorial Christian Church you will NOT experience weekly fashion competitions, nor find Power Struggles. You will NOT feel like an outsider, and are embraced with the understanding that as Children of God, we ALL have personal struggles on our path to Honor His Word. Memorial Christian Church: Soft-spoken and True to his word, Minister Gary Farthing, delivers sermons from the heart, embracing both young and old, while covering changes in the world and the struggles which Christians face in todays society. MaryEllen Farthing (electric piano/organ) and the Choir deliver long time favorites to newer arrangements raising spirits and voices of the congregation. The Wonderful Youth Activities offered provide at SOLID Christian foundation for those who attend. Samantha Donaldson The anointing power that comes from the pastoral team here is amazing. As we came in sinners and broken from church hurt, we were welcomed warmly, prayed over, and found our home. It is full of others who were broken and lost. The staff goes above and beyond welcoming you in, and the kids church and youth group have been very helpful for our family and our teen loves the youth group.
