She been working with my hair for 2 years ! It’s so incredibly healthy and growing super long! She an expert at what she does and she so professional. I virtually had no direction other than to make my hair shorter and he was able to figure out a style that fit me after some questions about what I preferred and just looking at my hair. I really appreciated his styling tips and liked how he took his time with the cut.

Kate V I came to Lilly to get my roots touched up, as well as to fix orange banding from a previous colorist. She recommended we do a keratin treatment for blondes, which I’m glad I did because it helped prevent hair breakage and loss during the bleach treatment. My hair felt amazing! She then fixed the banding and touched up my roots which was an incredibly difficult task because my hair was in very bad shape, with various shades of blonde and yellow and lots of breakage. Not only did she fix it without any breakage, she did it in about 3 hours! Usually my double process takes 5+ hours. And my hair felt soft, when usually bleaching will make it feel dry. Her salon space was very clean, she was extremely knowledgeable and responsive to my concerns/ communication. I don’t have great pictures but I’m including before and after photos.

She provided me with the best advice for my hair when I showed her what I was looking for and the results were wayyyy beyond better than my expectations. I’m absolutely in love with my new hair color! Also, Lilya did an amazing job with my hair cut and blow dry and she also over delivered with the look and bangs I wanted. She brought my vision to reality and I’m extremely happy with my experience overall. It’s hard to find a good and reliable salon in NY, and I’m happy I found my long term spot.

Jack Baker Royal Hair Salon is amazing! Great stylists and beautiful new space. I have been going to the owner, Sura, for years and he is an iconic stylist and master at his craft. He has a very loyal following so might be hard to book with him but I’m sure all the stylist there are great. This is my go to place in NYC. Can’t do better and the price is reasonable.

Desiree Rivera My experience at Royal Hair has been amazing. Neelam knows her craft. My eyebrows always look great and ladies if you looking to get that wax she your lady. Very clean, welcoming and professional environment. They also do amazing hair on both men and women. Maybe pricey but its worth it.

Anthony Rivelli Leo has been cutting my hair for a few years now . I found him on Google and I am so glad that I did . He gives an amazing skin fade and does a hot towel shave as well . Peter Lee I had a positive experience getting a haircut from this place while I was on my way to visiting Banksy museum. Macca was the barber who cut my hair, and overall it came out great. The price is also quite affordable, much cheaper than other barbershops nearby. I would highly recommend this place for getting a mans haircut.

Daniela Sandoval First time getting a haircut here! I had an appointment with Kiyo and he was so nice and attentive through every step of my haircut. I have long thick hair and was way over due for a cut. Kiyo made sure to explain how to achieve certain styles with the curtain bangs I asked for. The bangs were tailored for my face shape which I really appreciated too. Super happy with the outcome and it was awesome to work with him!

Sherwood Callaway Mick at Green Room salon in NYC is an absolute pro! I’ve been getting my hair cut by him for multiple years now and followed him between studios. At some point, he suggested I try highlights… As a guy with short hair, I wasn’t sure how they would turn out, but Mick nailed it. He gave me a natural, low-maintenance look that still stands out. The vibe and staff at Green Room is super chill, and I really look forward to coming here every few months. Mick’s attention to detail of course is the real secret though. I’m a loyal customer and highly recommend!

Alina Kung Love the Green Room and will be coming back - it has great aesthetics, an easy to use website, and great people. Specifically, Mickey is an absolutely fantastic hairdresser. He is warm, personable, kind, and respectful - and during my second haircut, he even remembered details from our first conversation. He struck an amazing balance between looking carefully at the photos I shared with him and making some of his own recommendations, which is really helpful to me as someone who doesnt enjoy aesthetic decisions. The thing that really sets him apart though, is his teaching of practical hairstyling tips (my first haircut he explained how to properly blow dry hair - and an easy way to do it with just your hands!... and second haircut he explained how to use a flat iron to style the amazing haircut he just did). He is the most empowering hairdresser Ive met thus far and hope to keep coming back to. Also his hair washing techniques are incredibly relaxing, which includes thoughtfully placing a light cover over you for warmth, a cover over your eyes, and a short (amazing!) scalp massage. Highly recommend!

Nina Dees I’ve been a local regular for a year, and always have an amazing experience at this hair salon! I’ve lived in 3 states so far and Fatima has been my best hair stylist ever! I have very long brunette hair that I regularly get dyed red, no easy feat, and it always comes out fabulous. The staff are talented artists, they’re so kind, and I feel like Fatima can read my mind when it comes to my hair goals. Bleaching, hair dye, hair butter, cut, blow dry, shine spray, and a couple cheeky glasses of wine, about 3 hours and a little over $300. Great prices for phenomenal results. I’ll only let Fatima touch my hair as long as I live in NYC.

I explained the kind of cut I wanted and then she went to work. At the end, I was pleasantly surprised. It was by far the best haircut I’ve ever had! Lorraine Wong I was just in town visiting, but REALLY needed my hair colored. I was staying in the area and this had the highest reviews… I can totally see why! Once you get up to the 7th floor, it’s a relaxed atmosphere and all of the staff are super friendly. I made an appointment for cut and color and by luck, I got Michelle (the owner), for my color. My home colorist was making it too brassy and I needed to tone it down, but still have a nice dynamic shade. Michelle totally nailed it. The haircut with Paulina was equally amazing. She cleaned up my layers and gave me a cool, modern update to my haircut that moves really well. I’d say it’s expensive (because I’m not from the area) but I think this is what most salons in the area charge, so I don’t think it’s a negative. And of course, you get what you pay for. I also just saw their Insta page and think Blake Lively was just here and I always think she has such gorgeous color. Worth a visit!

The communication on my desired hair color (I didn’t want it to be too intense or bold) without compromising the health of my hair was thorough and appreciated. He is super chill and very sweet. I’m a brunette and was worried about bleaching my hair but Rae took her time to talk to me and explain the process, she did the color exactly how I wanted it. I am so pleased with her! She checked again after I got my haircut! I will see Rae and Paulina again! It’s a bit pricy but worth it!!!

SFC The service at the salon was great, but I was extremely disappointed with the outcome of my hair color. As a Black woman, I take a lot of pride in my hair and put significant trust in trying a new salon. Unfortunately, the color turned out too yellow and patchy, which was not what I expected. To make matters worse, I believe I had an allergic reaction to the products used. When I reached out to the salon, they offered to fix the color but refused to provide a refund or even a partial refund, despite the damage done to my hair. If you’re a woman of color, I would recommend going to a salon that understands how to work with natural hair and caters to your specific needs. I spent $700 for a result I’m truly unhappy with, and it was a disappointing experience overall. I hope the salon can use this feedback to improve their approach.

Very detailed and its already growing out beautifully! After the amazing experience, i asked her to recommend someone to do my highlights and she didnt think twice to recommend Rae Ann. I shared my inspiration photo, and Rae Ann delivered! I wanted subtle chocolate brown highlights but enough that it would show off my black hair. She nailed it and it looks completely effortless and so damn natural! Forget the fact that she was a pleasure to chat with and made the experience one of the best along with Jacelyns cut.
