Gabriella Wilkens I’ve been visiting Chena’s private salon for a little over a year now and haven’t gone back to a regular salon since! Chena’s attention to detail and desire to provide an amazing experience with the best Russian Manicure and Russian Pedicures is unmatched! I always leave with exactly what I’ve requested, or better. Chena does an amazing job of helping you grow strong and long nails. My structure gel never cracks and always lasts 4-5 weeks. My nails were previously chipping and flaking in layers, but with education and suggestions they’ve never looked better! I’m happy to use my hard earned money to pay for services for such an amazing nail expert who takes pride in their work and continuous education to be the best around.

Garyna Recio This is my favorite nail salon. I actually don’t even have a preference in who does my nails, all the girls here do a great job and i always leave satisfied and happy. My favorite thing is the pedicures. They really know what they’re doing. I first case here because i lived near by and even after moving farther away I still make sure to come back because nobody does it like these ladies. They’re also all really sweet, they always offer coffee and are very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Jazmine Miller I love this place! The customer service is always top tier! This was the first time I went and they offered my wine and tea, I opted for tea. I’m natural with type 4 A&B hair (see 3rd pic), and I usually do my own hair but I come here for trims and all the things I can’t do myself especially when I need a good silk press. Some of them are great with my hair and others are learning. I gave 5 stars because they listen and use or products OR teach you why a product may not get you the results you are looking for and they’ll recommend you a different product. They also do everything thing here. Nails, eyebrows, body contouring, etc. Last time I went, most of the staff spoke Spanish except for one but it’s nothing Google Translate or Apple Translate can’t fix. They were patient with me and my translation apps.

Neici I had a great experience at Gem!! The salon owner is always friendly and she will answer questions if you have any skincare or hair questions. The beautician did an amazing job with my wash, set, and cut omg I had people asking if I had a perm!! I am completely natural. I was nervous about getting my hair but she said it was time for a cut and I loved the outcome including my partner!! I highly recommend!!

Shantel Watkins I found this place on Google. Wait time on a weekday wasnt bad. I arrived before the nail techs, 10:06. I started around 10:35 and left around 12:33pm. This was due to what I wanted. A full set with the design plus a gel french pedicure. Everyone was waiting for the wonderful Chase, however it was my first time, so I went with whoever was available to get the job done. Peter completed my services and he did a great job. Everyone was very friendly and the environment was clean and welcoming. Peter listened to my requests and also made sure I was satisfied every step of the way despite the language barrier. I will definitely be returning. The prices are below but definitely consider that special requests will affect the final cost.

Jennifer Seda I used to go here a long time ago and I was in for a surprise when I went here December 2024. I was asking for a long stiletto with a reverse ombré and glitters. I’m used to these nail techs doing half of what I expect to be which is why I do not go often. This has changed since I met Chase. He takes his job seriously and the quality is held to a superior standard. He was more than happy to deliver and succeed way past my expectations. He has a customer for life now. I went again today and left just as satisfied as the first time I went.

Genesis Ramirez Gleason Nail Salon is just an amazing find! Adrianna did my nails for my wedding in the beginning of November and it was just so awesome! I loved how she followed the design to the T as well as catering to a Male Manicure and Pedicure for my soon to be husband. We loved it and she was the sweetest! I went today 3-4 weeks later to take off my acrylics and Ana did my nails and she was very precise and gentle! We did a simple nail color and I love it! Definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND! My services were done by Gaby who was a wonderful person to chat with and she also did a flawless job. I had a manicure and pedicure with gel nail removal services done and not only was the service great but the price was very affordable. I highly recommend them and will be a returning customer.

samina s I hoped to be a loyal customer and really wanted to like this salon, but I feel very disappointed. Every time I go I feel ripped off!This is my fourth and LAST time coming to this salon!! A few months ago I went in with a nail design I wanted and my nail tech Ana was on face time talking while doing my nails and put very little effort into my nails. I felt upset looking at my nails and spoke with the owner Tammy who agreed to have Ana redo my nails. She fixed it and it looked better, so why couldn’t this happen the first time? Anyways, today I called the salon and I believe Tammy picked up. I made an appointment for regular mani and pedi. I got to the salon and told Tammy, again, that I’m here for a REGULAR mani+pedi. Tammy assigned nail tech Adrianna(I think that’s what her name is) she took her time and was gentle. But, When it was time to pay she charged me for GEL mani pedi and said that she did gel mani pedi. Im a full time mom so don’t get much free time so I was very happy to get away for a little to pamper myself, I don’t think it’s my responsibility to keep track of what they are doing when I already told them several times I’m here for regular mani pedi. This was not okay to charge me for something I was not aware of or asked for, but I ended up paying for a gel mani pedi. Seems like a sleazy business move. What an awful experience.

Rachell Castillo Me and my sister came for a quick mani pedi on Christmas and they did amazing. Nat did my pedicure and jenny did my manicure both French tips and they came out perfect. They were quick, efficient and extremely clean and sanitary. I felt well taken care of and the prices are very fair and the quality is amazing.

Dolimer Rodriguez The service and staff are nice but the quality is not worth the price. I would not recommend this place if you are trying to get a gel mani. When removing the gel from my previous set, I told the tech that I wanted to remove using acetone but she insisted on using a ceramic nail drill. This was on my natural nail which left them weaker and even cut a corner of my cuticle. I switched over to another tech who painted them. She did a great job at asking for what I wanted and trying things out but the polish was already chipping the next day. I went to get it fixed, which she did but two days later it’s lifting from my nail again.

Its not too pricey either and they offer you water and other beverages too while you get your services done. I never have any issues and the owner is a sweetheart. Always mingling and making sure the customers are well. I highly recommend this spot!

The owner was so generous for Mother’s Day, that she handed out free bottles of wine to everyone , and complementary water. The place was clean , had excellent prices , and friendly. The service is amazing , the workers are all so nice. While you’re waiting you get a choice of red or white wine, or they have bottled water and snacks. It felt like such a luxury experience and I was so happy with my results . I got French tips with gel instead of acrylic and I’m sooo happy I did . I will never go back to acrylic again . But Marry did an amazing job on my nails I LOVEEEE them. Quick and sufficient

Maria Mares I was excited to try this nail salon because I’d walked by a few times and thought it looked lovely from the outside. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The pedicure was fine but extremely quick—almost too quick, in my opinion. When it came to my nails, I explained to the technician that I had acrylic on my natural nails, which needed to be soaked off, and that I wanted gel polish next. Instead of soaking off the acrylic as I requested, the technician began clipping my nails and then used a nail tip to forcibly wedge between my natural nail and the acrylic. This was painful, and I told him so, but he continued. When he moved to another nail, he pushed the tip so hard that he broke my natural nail. Only then did he realize he needed to soak off the acrylic, as I’d initially requested. He proceeded with the removal, then shaped and painted my nails. However, he was about to paint over the broken nail as if nothing was wrong. I stopped him and asked if he was planning to fix it. He seemed confused and claimed it was fine as it was. I had to insist that he repair it, as I was concerned the nail would break further. After some pushback, he finally added a thin layer of acrylic to patch it. The entire experience was frustrating. To make matters worse, I noticed they didn’t sanitize their tools between clients, nor did I see them disinfect anything with alcohol. The nail shape I was left with was uneven and unattractive. For a gel pedicure and gel manicure, I paid $98—plus the added stress of a broken nail and concerns about hygiene. While the salon’s appearance may seem appealing, I would not recommend this place. They are unsanitary, inattentive to customer needs, and what should have been a relaxing visit turned into a stressful experience. Now, I’m left hoping I don’t develop an infection due to their lack of proper sanitation practices.

Peja Miloti This is such a gem in this neighborhood. I’ve gotten Japanese gel in Queens, and I’ve done my nails in Europe, but when I’m in the Bronx, this is my go-to. My first time there was with Angie, and I was impressed by her meticulous attention to detail in the shape of my nails. I knew immediately I’d be back. Today, I popped in after a few weeks abroad, and Maria took care of me for a hard gel chrome set, and I trust this woman so much! She took good care of me, explained how the color would be changed by the chrome, and gave me the best shape for my hands. I know there’s some reviews about the prices, but let me tell you, I’ve paid way more for way less in other places. Lumi is worth every penny, and the owners and workers are the friendliest I’ve known.

Trina Analee I visited this nail salon for what was likely my third or fourth time, and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience that I feel needs to be shared. As an African American woman, I believe it’s important for all customers, regardless of race or background, to feel comfortable asking questions about the services they are receiving. However, my interaction with the front desk receptionist—who, in my opinion, was unprofessional—left me feeling disrespected. On this particular visit, I noticed that the salon did not use the plastic liners in the pedicure bowls, a practice I’ve seen in many other salons to ensure sanitary conditions. Concerned about the possibility of fungal infections (having experienced this at other salons in the past), I asked about the sanitation procedures in place. Instead of addressing my question professionally, the receptionist responded sarcastically and in a dismissive manner, which I found rude and unnecessary. She also made an inappropriate remark about me stating I had contracted a fungus at their salon, even though I had not made any such claim. When I expressed my concerns, I was told to leave the salon, which was shocking and disappointing. This interaction was not only unprofessional but also left a negative impression of the business overall. My friend, who was with me, also left without receiving the service she had scheduled, and neither of us will be returning. It’s important for businesses to treat all customers with respect and professionalism. If a business is going to serve the community, it should be prepared to answer questions about its practices in a courteous manner. Sadly, my experience here did not reflect that standard, and I would caution others to consider their options carefully before choosing this salon.

Nilsa Crespo Worst gel manicure ever and it was done by Wendy. Gel color all over the cuticles. She put cuticle oil before top coat and told me to wash my hands in the pedicure sink while someone was there. Tools are not being disinfect. Horrible place.

Ana Nicole Don’t be fooled by fake reviews and edited/ altered photos. They take pictures at angles that do not show all the imperfections. Pedicure was ok, but not good enough for the price being charged. Not even lotion was put on my feet. This nail salon is trash. They take extremely long and they also do not honor the posted price. Ask for the price beforehand because it is not worth what they will try to charge you at the end. I would avoid this salon, although others in the area are also pretty bad. The woman who did my nails was nice , but not a good nail tech, she did not have the skills/technique needed to do a proper job and it shows. 2/10 - I paid $75 for this mess. people that have had better experiences are getting their nails done with one specific person that is not available when you walk in.

For the longest time, I have looked for a decent spot close to home that does ombŕe nail design and I am most thankful for the dedication time and effort these ladies put into my nails. Sabrina Foglia From late June 2018: Photos speak for themselves. Gave up trying to tell her how to shape them. I wanted almond initially and when she couldn’t do that (she was filing on one side way more than the other And the point was all the way on the edge of the nail. Not centered what so ever.) i ended up just telling her to round it out and that was even messed up too. I had to go home and file it myself into something barely acceptable. I have provided the “before and after” photo after having to file myself. Never going again.
