Li I always had a great experience from Mt. Sinai (in the ER Department). However I had surgery in the GP-2 at 1468 Madison, and the aftercare was not well. They also do not give enough information on the plan beforehand for you to know what to expect. So in periOperative care department/area, I got out at 4:20 PM on November 3rd. I was trying to close the curtain, but barely had the energy to walk or get up. The small drop-down table on the chair flipped down, and the 4 ounce apple juice fell on the floor. The male, older nurse got angry and irate. Then told me I need leave. He actually had the audacity to later come and pick a fight (high tone and quick words) with me (very poor bedside manner); he could have just easily said ‘sorry there was a misunderstanding.’ I told him we were probably having a cultural difference, and I told him he was being unprofessional. He kept trying to argue with me, but I asked him to stop. I wanted to get out of there so fast, I didn’t brush my teeth and put my used robe, sheets, and cover in the soiled laundry hamper (I didn’t want anybody complaining about any of my mess). I haven’t eaten since yesterday, but my appetite is gone for today (that was enough argument to last me for the week). The other fifty nurses were kind and nice.

Emmanuel Maria The neglect their patients. They don’t take their jobs as serious as they can they worry more about how many family members come see their patients. I ask for a supervisor and get different people coming up to me saying they are a supervisor and they are not. They take their time with going to attend the patients and leave them there until they feel they are ready to attend the patient. The called the cops on my family because it’s was a lot of them trying to visit my grandmother and they banned us saying we were be a big distraction on the floor and said they can arrest us for precaution. They are unacceptable. The head of nurses is very rude and do not know how to communicate. My grandmother been there for 1month and they have been running tests and telling her family she is fine. Unsafe, unsanitary no good communication.

Simple works The Mount Sinai Hospital has seen me through some of the most challenging times in my life, and for that, I am deeply grateful. I’ve spent numerous nights in this hospital, and my longest stay was two weeks. Throughout all my visits, the one thing that has remained consistent is the incredible care and compassion shown by the entire staff—nurses, doctors, and everyone involved. The nurses at Mount Sinai are nothing short of amazing. They have always treated me like family, attending to my needs with genuine care and without a hint of complaint. Their dedication to their patients is evident in everything they do, from the smallest tasks to the most critical care. It’s clear that their number one goal is to ensure that you walk out of the hospital feeling healthy and 100%. Knowing that you have people who care for you like family during such difficult times is a comfort that cannot be overstated. The doctors are equally remarkable, providing expert medical care with a level of professionalism and kindness that makes all the difference. They take the time to explain everything, ensuring that you feel informed and supported throughout your treatment. So, yes, I’m writing this five-star review to say thank you to The Mount Sinai Hospital. Thank you for being there when I needed it most, for treating me with respect and compassion, and for helping me get back to feeling like myself again. I can’t recommend this hospital enough to anyone in need of medical care. You’re in the best hands possible at Mount Sinai.

Dominique Horrible horrible horrible! I give it nothing but 0 stars. They will milk your insurance in every way possible. One of the ICU doctors said in front of my mother & the staff that my lungs were very “Marketable” red flag number one. I was discharged on Sunday by one of the doctors & they kept me there for several more days with no real reason. When I asked why am I still here they first stated I needed to see the social worker. When I finally saw the useless social worker they then started diagnosing me with other issues that I never had. Let’s also talk about how nobody in this place knows how to draw blood. The Nurses can’t draw blood, a few of the medical assistants knew how to draw blood better than the Nurses. I have great veins by the which they blew all my veins out. I had about 8-10 bruises all over my body, bruises were so big you would have thought I was in a DV situation. They have nothing but residents working on you who think they know it all and don’t listen to you. Had 2 residents tell me that my oxygen levels were low… my oxygen level was sitting at 96 which is normal. Had another resident tell me I had kidney failure when I never had kidney failure. Blood work came back & showed my kidneys were just fine. That same resident who put in my chart & kept saying that I had kidney failure told the nurse to give me a “IV bag”. When I asked her what was it she was giving me she stated “I don’t know”. I refused. The same nurse comes back in again & said “it’s for your heart”. I told her there’s nothing wrong with my heart. She then comes back in again and she says “well the doctor (the same resident) said if you take this medication he’ll let you go home”. When I refused again I told her to bring me the resident who was telling her these things. She went & got another resident & that’s resident implied that I was lying & making it up…MY TWO family members who were sitting there the entire time even said the nurse said those things & all the resident could say was “OH” & left. I never been more disgust by a so call hospital.

Jenna 7th Floor - Extremely rude MRI technician. Ive had multiple scans across numerous institutions and have never had someone so ill-informed about my case speak to me in such a disturbing manner. I felt beyond uncomfortable. This individual has no business being in patient-facing care.

Gjil L 12 floor scanning center is quite ridiculous. Every time a pregnant woman comes in for a normal scan, they run about 1 hour late. They say they’re high risk but none of the women coming here are in any kind of emergency, just regular scans every 3-4 weeks. I would have never chosen this place had I known before. Hoping the birthing floor is different.

joe William Labor and delivery staff are rude and standoffish. If your black security insisted on Searching you every time. If your a new dad they ignore u and act like u dont exist and only address the mom . They definitely need to get it together. I will definitely go somewhere else.

Michael Emerson No complaints at all about the services I received here in fact the sonogram and cardiac MRI staff was exceptional from reception to the technicians. My review is about the building design. Specifically there is a long slanted ramp inside a medical building. I just dont quite understand who or why this is inside a medical building. Maybe it was necessary but Id love to take the designers and see them go up a ramp that long in a wheelchair. Then I would sit at the bottom of this ramp and watch them accelerate down the ramp in a wheelchair as they grind their hands on the wheels to slow down before they pick up speed. Them I would ask them why they would put this in a medical building. Im not exactly frail but going down this incline wasnt fun. Going up it would take some strength, I cant even imagine a older or sick person being able to do it at all without help. But I didnt see one building employee aside from security guards. Im hoping that theres a reason it has to be designed that way and for all I know theres other ways in and out that are more user friendly but I was taken to the building by someone who knew the building so apparently thats the best option, enter doors, go up incline, then you get to security-check in area. To leave go down incline to doors. Not impossible at all but just an unusual design for a medically oriented building IMO.

John B. I visited New York Presbyterian David Koch Center with my significant other on 05/15/2023 for an important lumbar puncture procedure. Unfortunately, our experience was highly disappointing and I feel compelled to share it as a warning to others. Initially, we were greeted cordially and the procedure was explained in detail. However, several red flags emerged during our visit. The miscommunication surrounding a pregnancy test caused unnecessary anxiety for my partner. Moreover, we were left ignored and disregarded for an hour and ten minutes in the prep room, with no updates or assistance. The behavior of a nurse named Jasmine was particularly unprofessional and deceitful. The lack of respect and genuine care became evident as the hours passed. When we decided to leave after waiting for four hours, Dr. Kim finally reached out, more concerned about avoiding a malpractice suit than understanding our frustration. It was clear that this facility was run by negligent, arrogant, and disrespectful individuals. Additionally, the lack of security measures raised serious concerns. Despite a metal detector and security guard, I was able to enter the facility twice with a knife and pepper spray, without any intervention. Such negligence is alarming, especially considering there is a maternity ward within the facility. I deeply regret choosing NY Presbyterian David Koch Center and urge others to avoid it. Take heed of the numerous negative reviews from other patients who share similar experiences. This facility failed to provide adequate care, demonstrating a lack of professionalism and compassion. I hope my detailed account serves as a warning to prevent others from enduring such a nightmare. Please report any similar experiences to ensure accountability.

A. Lozada I had an excellent experience at this facility under the care of Dr. Rosen. The hospital staff was attentive, professional, and made me feel at ease throughout the process. My procedure was efficient, and I was in and out within a few hours. While I can’t speak for the other doctors, I can confidently say that Dr. Rosen is an exceptional gynecologist. Her expertise, compassionate care, and clear communication truly stood out. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a skilled and caring GYN specialist.

Roger Jarman Last weeks experience for ambulatory surgery was excellent at such a convenient location too. From pre-op to recovery, the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive. They clearly explained every step of the process. The center was clean and modern, and the waiting areas were comfortable. My procedure was efficient and I felt well cared for throughout my stay. I highly recommend the Chelsea Medical Center for anyone needing outpatient surgery. Still waiting for my McDonalds - if you know, you know :)

Laura Pope I would strongly recommend against using any of the doctors in this clinic. They will schedule you for a certain time and have absolutely no regard for keeping to the time you were scheduled for. I traveled two and a half hours to get here with a 4 month old at home and childcare until a certain time and they were not planning for me to see the doctor until 1.5 hours until after my scheduled appointment time so now I have to leave and come back next week. Absolutely unacceptable. I want to ensure other potential patients are aware of this kind of mismanagement before enrolling with a doctor here.

Maria Cirillo My 77 yr old, mom has been receiving chemo treatment for a late stage of ovarian cancer at the Chelsea center for the past few months. Yesterday was my mom’s 4th visit for chemo and the most stressful experience thus far. For a hospital treating people with cancer you would think that they would be more accommodating and sensitive to the needs of the family. They say when one person has cancer, the whole family has cancer with them. To avoid long car rides that can trigger my mom’s stress levels, we usually take a 3rd person with us to access the HOV lane. My daughter came as she happened to be off from school. It was her second time coming to treatment. Upon entry to the infusion center the nursing assistant quickly denied access to my daughter explaining that only 1 person was permitted at a time to enter with the patient. Surprised, I asked her if the rules had recently changed because this was the first time we were ever told there was a limit in the amount of people entering and that my daughter had been permitted to stay with me in the past. Furthermore, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving her in the waiting room alone as she was a minor. She then explained that she would not be permitted because she was underage. I pleaded with the facility staff to please permit my child to enter for just today as I was completely unaware of this rule that had not been enforced in the past. I didn’t want to make a choice between supporting my sick mom or maintaining the safety of my 13 year old in a public facility. I spoke with the front desk supervisor, the patient representative coordinator and the nursing administrator, each person adamantly denied her entry, insistent on policy that could not be swayed in any way to accommodate the individual needs of our family on that particular day. In addition they tried to excuse the act by maintaining that it was a matter of safety for my own child since chemo is a highly hazardous treatment it could potentially put her health at risk. Im not sure how something being administered intravenously could be hazardous to my teenage daughter. I told the administrative staff that this was not my first rodeo- unfortunately cancer runs in my family and I have had to experience chemo treatments centers before in other hospitals. We were never given restrictions on age or number of people present. My mother was forced to be left alone for aprox 5 hours. I went in periodically throughout the day for a few minutes to check in on her. She was emotionally stressed being alone for such a long period of time while receiving chemo. I requested that the nurse practitioner who works with my mom’s oncologist to please speak with me when she arrived. I also posted a message in the portal for help from doctor and/or nurse practitioner. No one responded to my message or came out into the main lobby area where I was with my daughter to speak to me while they tended to my mom that day. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. It was an incredibly disheartening experience that has shaped my opinion and view of this treatment facility.

Danah Abdulaziz Horrible treatment on 9/16 I came to this hospital waited 3 hours and more to be seen. On 9/17 I was seen in the ER the nurse was horrible. I was left with an empty IV drip for a while. She dismissed me when I was seeking some assistance. That nurse knew I was pregnant. She didn’t even bother to check in once in a while. I seen people wait 2 hours for discharge papers.

ana castellanos The truth is that when an institution is made up of people who are really committed to the service and well-being of people, it shows! I filed a complaint with this platform which in less than 24 hours was taken into account and I am quite happy that it was so because it shows that they are people who are at the service of people and willing to improve and maintain the quality in their institution, very good work and I hope that it always stays that way, that they are one of the most prestigious places and with such good human quality, congratulations for your management definitely this hospital has the best manager and people in charge!!!!

Sheen He Dr. Carolyn B. Hiltebeitel is an excellent Pediatrician. The nurse/PA Yulia S. who saw us before the doctor was terrible. She had no patience and behaved very poorly with my 1 yr old son who is very scared of doctors visits. She made the start of the visit horrible and unnecessarily difficult. My son cried and screamed the whole time clinging onto me while she did the measurement. In contrast, Dr. Carolyn B. Hiltebeitel and Richard S. were amazing. Richard S. gave my son 4 shots and he only cried a tiny bit with the last shot. Richard was patient, and had excellent bedside manners. Dr. Hiltebeitel was similarly patient, calm and caring. It was a disappointing way to start our first visit given the lack of care and patience Yulia S. had. I will go back, only if Yulia S. is NOT assisting my son.

Nia Phipps If you can go elsewhere, please do. This Hospital is 100% unfit to operate and the management team should take some time to reassess operations. Patients are left in hallways vomiting , and shared treatment rooms where you are forced to discuss your condition with an audience (about 10 other people in the room). Emergency rooms naturally have long waits so that didnt really bother me. What did was the patients lining the halls, staff asking patients to stand and wait to be treated, nurses inserting IVs into patients while the patient next to them is actively hacking with no mask (thats not even sanitary). Please note the gross disorganization is not the fault of the nurses and doctors who despite being overloaded, physically and verbally assaulted by patients still did their best to work as quickly as possible. I strongly implore you to search up a new hospital, once you check in you have to pay regardless so dont waste time figuring out when its too late. I also implore this hospital to revisit their diversion plan, re-train those senior who are making pertinent decisions as the mental and physical well-being of both patients and nurses are at risk. I got fluids and an X-ray and my pre-insurance bill was just over 2k. Healthcare is too expensive for this type of behavior, all patients deserve quality care.

Carla Watson I am shocked by these reviews. From start to finish, every staff member, every nurse, every doctor were kind and worked quickly. My experience was with the E.R. department. A special shout out to my doctor who was from Dayton, Ohio. As a visitor to NY and having fell I need E.R. care, again, every worker gave exceptional service.

Prince Honestly I think this is one of the worst places for service. I came here around 4am for abdominal pain with insurance. Its now 7:56am and aside from collecting urine I have been sitting here since with zero communication. I hear other patients calling out for help and staff just walking by. Just very bad customer service.

Ellen Behar Issersohn Had surgery in July,2022. Absolutely horrific experiences there as I was physically assaulted 3 times by certain malicious nurses in the 2nd post op. I reported it to my physician and other nursing staff, and hospital complaint department. They told me they were referring my complaints to their legal dept. and told my surgeon not to treat me anymore! Despicable!!!

Kathy Keller This is been my hospital since I moved here 33 years ago. I have Crohns disease and I have been in every single part of the place I think. Imaging, blood work, inpatient, surgery, surgical procedures, doctors offices. The dedication and superior treatment I have received is beyond expressing. Sure you meet the odd grouchy or unfriendly medical personnel but considering what theyre being asked to do Im not surprised especially in the age of covid. I have had my life saved at least three times and my quality of life given back to me. Now that my husband has pancreatic cancer the treatment he is receiving in oncology surgery imaging blood work is beyond belief. We would never go anywhere else.

Pasang Lhamo WORST HOSPITAL experience ever! the gyno that I saw had extremely bad bedside manner, made me feel very uncomfortable. the billing is by far the most confusing thing ever - every doctor visit comes with two separate billing statement, from the facility (ny presp) and doctor (weill cornell), and the costs are over the top even with insurance. I’ve been trying to reach the doctors billing department, left multiple messages to sort out bill but still no response, it’s been several months at this point. DONT go here!

Eva Zhu My mom came to the ED on 3/9 and had orthopedic surgery yesterday and all the nurses are nice, ED nurses apparently overworked but still nice to us, after the surgery we went on 8th floor west, nurses are chill and nice, very helpful, especially Sapir and Daniel, room is clean and luxury. Food is not good but acceptable. But the worse thing is the transportation, late for at least 3 hours, we left by ourselves.

M I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the treatment I received at Presbyterian Hospital last night 10 March 2025. I arrived at the emergency room with severe, non-stop tooth pain that felt unbearable. I believed the hospital would provide the urgent care I needed, but instead, I was left waiting for over tow hours without receiving any medical attention. When I repeatedly asked the nurses when a doctor would see me, their responses were dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. They told me, *“You are not bleeding, so your condition is not that bad.”* Such a response was not only disrespectful but also demonstrated a complete disregard for the pain I was experiencing. Due to their rudeness, humiliation, and neglect, I ultimately passed out from pain and exhaustion in the emergency room. Despite this, the staff continued to ignore my condition and showed no urgency or concern. When I regained consciousness and asked about my situation, I was again told I would have to wait for a doctor, but no one came to check on me. Eventually, close to midnight, I was told by the nurses that if I wanted to continue waiting, I could; otherwise, I was free to leave the hospital. The lack of care, disrespect, and complete absence of professionalism left me feeling humiliated, neglected, and traumatized by an experience that was supposed to provide me with urgent care. I expect this complaint to be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. I would appreciate a formal response explaining why I was treated this way and what measures will be implemented to ensure other patients do not suffer the same mistreatment and disrespect.

Anwer Avoid NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital at all costs! My sister had on-and-off chest pain, and after rushing her to the ER, we were met with nothing but indifference. Despite multiple check-ins with the nurse, more than four hours passed, and she was still not seen by a doctor. No one seemed to care whether she was okay or not—there was no sense of urgency, no updates, just an overcrowded waiting room full of miserable patients. It is absolutely unreal how long the wait time is, especially for someone experiencing possible heart-related symptoms. How can a hospital operate like this and still be in business? Patients here are clearly not a priority, and the lack of compassion from the staff is appalling. My sister was in pain and anxious, yet we were left to sit and wait as if her condition didn’t matter. It is heartbreaking that she had to go through this, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. The lack of professionalism and care here is beyond disappointing. If you actually value your health, go somewhere else—this place is a disgrace.

Xai Absolutely a garbage, nightmarish, and horrible hospital. Id give this a 0 if I could. The staff is horrendous, they refused to help upon meeting with them and on phone its even worse. I was inquiring about the status of something and they didnt even let me finish my sentence. Soon after, I had business with the radiology department to drop off some goods. At the lobby, the attendant ignored me and told me to go away and denied my entry because the staff wasnt picking up their department phones and security was apparently non existent so they couldnt let me in to drop off medicinal goods. Meanwhile the staff at the department are too busy chatting with eachother sitting down and playing games on their phones. While the main department attendant had a rude attitude and didnt even want to talk to me. And seeing all these other reviews, I can see why youd want to avoid it. Avoid this hospital at all costs, the people here dont want to do their job, lack professionalism and lack respect and courtesy. From the way it looks in person, and the reviews here, they seem treat patients the same. Save yourself from this hell hole. This happened last month and it still baffles me that a hospital could be this bad.

William Greenlee As a patient at the New York City Mt Sinai-Morningside Babcock 4w Cath Lab 03/07-03/08/25 for implantation of a stent pair in my left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery, I received excellent surgical and recovery care services for a potentially risky interventional procedure that was completed without issue. As always, delivery of excellent medical care at this level is only possible with a large, diverse and well coordinated team effort. While it is not possible recall all contributing members of this wonderful team (seen and unseen), I wanted to acknowledge a sampling that made my journey understandable and ultimately successful. Firstly, I recognize the years of experience, exceptional skills and excellent working relationships among the three primary cardiac surgeons involved:  Dr Jay Doshi, my Primary Cardiologist,  Dr Casso, Interventional Attending Physician  Dr Syed Mustafa, Interventional Fellow This team ensured that I was well briefed beforehand and updated throughout the procedure and recovery period. My pre-op and post-op care was provided by a very positive, highly professional team consisting of, in part:  Margarita Molchanskaya, admitting nurse  Tyler Maldonado NP, cardiology  Nolan W, recovery, monitoring, discharge nurse  Jill A Roura, RN night shift senior floor nurse  David V, respiratory therapist  Jino Gatpandan, social worker Based on this experience, I would, without reservation, seek the services of Mt Sinai-Morningside Hospital in the future and would recommend the same to others.

Ansi Green As a minor this hospital treated me decent. Im 18 now and I had recently tried going in for psych and they discharged me regardless of my mental state. Nor did they risk asses me. They discharged me without proper care whatsoever. DONT come here for psych. I dont know about medical but from these other replies... Dont come here at all.

Jessica Smith Terrible experience, was in the er “waiting area” for 2 days. Didn’t sleep. Saw 10-15 doctors none of which helped and whose names I don’t remember because there were so many. Aside from those annoyances and some judgmental drs the care was good. Nurses were amazing. If my gp didn’t suggest it, I would have gone to a different hospital. Facilities were very outdated. Follow up calls didn’t leave a message. Again, the staff make up for the shortcomings, I appreciate them but overall would not suggest unless it’s necessary.

We were there to see our cousin and she started off by calling, making faces and then telling us “he has too many visitors upstairs while there was only 1 person”. She started murmuring something and told us to move on the side while we were talking…. I found it really rude and unprofessional. People go to hospital to see and cheer their loved ones… not to be treated mistreated.

Ronnie Padmore Night and Day...the same in theory but 2 separate experiences altogether. For example, the hospital stay experience. During the day the patient is bombarded with numerous doctors, nurses, tests, X-rays, needles, you name it. At night, its like a ghost town. Patients are left unattended, ignored by the night staff. You can press the nurse call button a thousand times and no one will respond. Nighttime hours are critical and the same attention administered during the day should be given in the overnight hours. Those are the critical hours when things can take a dramatic turn, for better or worse. It leads one to wonder if things are this way because the staff is under the assumption that the bosses are at home sleeping? The same level of care should be given 24/7.

Kianta Mills I recently just had a newborn at 8:41pm December 3,2024. They moved us to a ward where it was under construction and cold. They kept coming with excuses on why it was nothing they can do about it. Nurses get attitudes with you because you care about your newborn in an unsafe area after birth. They have tape on the windows, take trying to cover air coming in. Blankets over where the air is coming in at. It is below 30 degrees in here.

Kristen Rea My 78 yo mother was visiting for Christmas and fell. This happened to be the closest hospital, so that’s where we went. ERs can be a lot but overall the staff was really lovely and my mother was ultimately admitted since she needed orthopedic surgery and had too many mobility issues to leave. Our experience once admitted was excellent. Dr Carson, her orthopedic surgeon, has an incredible resume and was fantastic and the whole care team from orthopedic surgery to the nurses to cardiology to social work really made sure she was fully ok and discharged appropriately, and ultimately helped place her in a rehabilitation center. Thank you so much to everyone who made our nightmare a really pleasant and well cared for experience!

A B I hate to speak low on a hospital with so much history and have been serving y community for over 100 years however my 1st and last experience was very poor from the entrance to the building to the discharge with exception of the trial where two very nice nurse were very kind. Hours waiting siting n a chair to be taken care of a nurse that was rude and left my arm full of bruises. The hospital itself was very dirty , the beds had stained sheets , not talking about 4 bathrooms tat I tried to use was not usable at all.

Michael Roth Terrible experience at dental clinic. Didnt numb me enough for a tooth extraction, even when I said I wasnt numb enough. They were backed up and didnt care. They just wanted to get thru me and onto the next patient. The worst medical experience of my life, and Ive had many, many dental procedures. It was like one of those torture scenes in the movies. Very traumatic. Will definitely be looking up the "team" that was responsible and post their names, so noone has to endure what I went through. I will be contacting to hospital higher ups tomorrow to relay this ridiculously unprofessional, borderline sadistic, experience. Stay away!!!

She was phenomenal and reception and security are very kind. Andrea took 1 minute to draw and used a baby needle on me. It didn’t hurt and I can be difficult with needles sometimes. Excellent. Will be coming back.

Kristy Reed This is literally the worst service for a doctor that Ive ever received. Considering the amount of out of pocket money required to go there, it is definitely not worth it. Three things specifically stand out: 1) Ive gone to multiple doctors for the same issue, and I received the exact same treatment. There is no need to pay more for the exact same thing. The problem still persists after 18 months, its very clear that I need a different treatment or the diagnosis is incorrect. 2) The staff is very unprofessional. Aside from the many times Ive been hung up on, Ive also had them tell me that I cant receive the service that the doctor ordered (various versions of scans). Im also very unclear on how to book an appointment. Every number is the wrong number to do that, and walking in in person isnt an option to schedule an appointment. I was told that I had to continue to call the number where they either hung up on me, told me i couldnt make an appointment, or the one time they were going to let me make an appointment was like six months out. 3) they apparently had a tiff with my insurance. Rather than handling through normal channels, they treated it was like a political campaign that needed me to get out and view. I received tons of messages asking me to reach out to my insurance to get them to accept the Columbia doctors terms. Ive been willing to pay whatever they ask, whenever they ask... its not my job to step into an argument between my insurance and the medical center (you should hire lawyers for that).

Marie Ryu Arnold Advincula MD. I think my doctor is the best doctor in the world. I visited Columbia Doctor Midtown Hospital again yesterday to get my breasts CT and I was touched when I saw his name in the lobby entrance. I had my uterine fibroids removed by him on May 16th at Columbia Westchester Hospital. I am Korean and I usually get treated for major illnesses in Korea (I have the best insurance in Korea that covers all hospital expenses), but no doctor wanted to do my uterine fibroids surgery. I met with the eminent doctors in Korea but they all said hysterectomy - the best - and lets schedule the robotic surgery right away. But I wanted to keep my uterus as a woman, a wife, a mother, a teacher, so I prepared all the materials including the doctors opinion + MRI and came to the US to meet him. It took six whole months (he was already known as a great doctor, so there were many patients waiting) He and his team of top surgeons did a great job of removing my fibroids, keeping my uterus in place, and Im healthy, running around Central Park, and preparing for my second baby. The day after my surgery, he said to me, “ Marie, you can have another baby!" It was a major surgery that left me hospitalized for two days, and Im still recovering, but Im not a young mom anymore, and having a second baby might be difficult, but Ill do my best. Just like he helped me the best he could. Oh, I was billed the most expensive Columbia University Hospital bill of over 100,000 dollars, and I had to pay a lot of hospital bills with my insurance, but I didnt regret the money at all. Im really satisfied. Thank you, thank you, thank you. my dear Dr. Arnold. I will always be grateful to you for the rest of my life. Sending you my sincere love, respect and the most delicious coffee. You make me a better person.

Lisa Due to train schedules, we arrived for a scheduled medical scan an hour early, expecting to have to wait around awhile. They called us in for the scan almost immediately, and every single employee we interacted with - from the security guard to the radiology desk folks to the radiology techs - was incredibly helpful and kind. This was our first time visiting this location, and I was initially a little concerned reading some of the other reviews. But our experience was top notch and we would return for future tests without hesitation.

Paige Scrofani I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Tolani’s office that has compelled me to leave this review. My appointment with the MFM doctor earlier in the day ran late, which caused me to run behind schedule for my cardiology appointment. I immediately called the switchboard, who informed me they had spoken to the office staff and assured me it would be okay to arrive as long as I was there within 30 minutes. Given that I have fibromyalgia, commuting is already a painful and difficult experience for me, so I made every effort to get there as quickly as possible. When I arrived at 4:57 PM for my 4:30 appointment, I checked in at the front desk. The receptionist initially indicated that she didn’t think the doctor would see me but said she would check with the office staff. Before that happened, another front desk staff member came out and laughed when she heard I was there for a 4:30 appointment. She condescendingly remarked, “It’s 5 PM,” and when I explained I had called ahead, she dismissively replied, “Well, you didn’t talk to me.” Despite my visibly emotional state and explaining the situation, she refused to even ask the doctor if they would see me. I was then told I would need to reschedule, and the next available appointment wasn’t until January 23 — a wait I find entirely unacceptable, especially given that I scheduled this appointment back in August. To add insult to injury, this front desk staff member flippantly remarked that waiting until January “wasn’t really that long.” The lack of compassion, communication, and basic courtesy from this office is appalling. Not only did I leave without being seen, but I am now dealing with additional physical pain from the commute, all for nothing. I was treated with zero empathy and blatant rudeness while I was literally crying at the front desk. I will not be returning to Dr. Tolani or anyone in her practice due to this experience, and I strongly urge others to think twice before seeking care here. No patient deserves to be treated with such a lack of dignity and respect, especially when dealing with complex medical issues.

Cierra Toney ATTENTION, please read this!!! I want to thank Dr. Spencer Lin for making my surgery today quick and painless. He is the best oral surgeon at Woodhull Hospital and I wouldnt dare sit in anyone else chair! WHY? For many reasons; he was informative about the risks, the procedure itself, and the after care. The 3 needles administered to numb my mouth were the most painless needles that Ive ever had in my life, I didnt even shed a tear. I am also so grateful for PA. Ingrid Brown whom was very courteous and polite as Dr. Lin. I definitely noticed her detail of cleanliness which may not be a big deal to most but it is! She also assisted Dr. Lin during the procedure and I couldnt be more happier to be in the best hands possible. Thank you Dr. Lin and PA. Brown for contributing to the best dental experience ever and I wish you both the best of luck in this new year with your health and career!

Matthew Haley I would give this NYU ER zero stars iF possible. Here is my story: My husband drove me here from NJ. I have a chronic heart condition and I’ve been sick recently, so I needed to be seen. I had many symptoms and I wanted to be seen by what they call “the best.” Well… I arrived at 9:40 pm. It was extremely crowded and chaotic. But, I was triaged as “urgent.” As I should have been. After more than 1 hour… no one came to check on me. Not even vitals nor an EKG (which is the first thing EVERY OTHER HOSPITAL does upon arrival..) They called people who arrived well after me for non urgent reasons. I even overheard their conversations being they were there for headaches, hurt arm, etc…) Not only this, the staff were all rude expect for one security guard. It’s like it was being run by high school teens playing around playing favorites with their friends and cherry picking who gets seen first. This hospital is a joke and I will be filing a formal complaint tomorrow. I left after more than 1 hour 30 without being called at all and went to a hospital near by. NEVER AGAIN.

Katie Amazing emergency room! I came here to NYC for business and ended up with horrible back and abdominal pains. I had to go to this emergency room at 3:30 in the morning on a Saturday morning, and they got me right in to a bed. Everyone was so friendly from the person who checked me in, to Juliette, the nurse who brought me back to my room, to Lucy the nurse who gave me my IV, to the physician assistant and the doctor and Cat scan technicians. I live in Houston where we apparently have the best medical center but I never have received the amount of care and compassion as I did here at NYU Langone. I love that they send you all lab reports and test results right through the portal! I would recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone. While I obviously hope I never have to return to the emergency room, if I had to, NYU Langone would be the place to go!

Tara Went in this morning at 1AM with a piercing chest pain. I checked online and it said the wait to be seen was 8 mins. I was in a room and seen in 5. It was relatively empty in the respiratory area where I was bedded. The doctor ran several blood tests to rule out blood clots, multiple EKGs to rule out heart attack and a chest x-ray to make sure my heart wasn’t enlarged or visibly destressed. The nurses (Dana especially), the PA (Jason) and the doctor (Dr Cheng) were incredibly kind, friendly and hospitable. I live much further uptown but wanted to go to an ER that I knew wouldn’t have me sitting there waiting just to be seen for hours, unnecessarily. Hopefully I never have an emergency like this again but if I do I will come here. Turned out to be a pinch nerve.

Joy Calo Im a doctor and I fell down the stairs at the subway in Grand Central. I was taken to NYU ER. I fell down at 9 pm, got to the ER at 10 pm, almost 11 pm and still no pain meds. I had a broken ankle. I had to take Advil from my own purse with my own water. Nurse tells me they couldnt figure out my dose and after I told her I already took Advil, she says oh, you can take up to 800 mg. I thought they couldnt figure out my dose? Then she says her shift is over and leaves. I ask the nurse who took over for antibiotic ointment and bandages for my knee abrasions and she says they have to put the order in. A PA comes and touches my ankle and thats it. I dont get a thorough examination even though I have abrasions on both my knees and bruises over my hips. I dont see an MD from the ER. The only MD I see is the Orthopedic resident who looks at my X-rays and puts my leg in a cast. Finally the nurse comes and hands me antibiotic ointment and bandages. I apply it on my knees myself. I ask my boyfriend, "What is this, do it yourself ER?" They knew Im a doctor but this is ridiculous. I was there 7 hours and was never offered any juice or crackers until I almost passed out as I was getting ready to leave. I was not willing to stay a moment longer in that godforsaken ER.

Michael Moses The nurses and doctors were all very kind to me, but this facility is simply overrun with patients, as indicated by people on gurneys in the hallways and staff overworked and frustrated. Place is likely modern, but you wouldnt know it based on the wear and tear. As typical with traditional ER departments, expect to be in and out in 4 hours or longer, especially if you require imaging. I trust the NYU health system, but would recommend other ERs in other hospital systems if you have a choice during an unfortunate need.
