Cheryl B UPDATE: Owner. I acknowledged that I forgot the locs. Your response proves you have no empathy, compassion, customer service and basic people skills. According to you, by the way I was asking and kept on repeating the same thing about letting my locs look good that "TROUBLE WAS COMING". So me, already not feeling good about my hair and asking you a question SEEKING REASSURANCE is "trouble coming"? NOTED. If you wanted to do my hair you wouldnt have walked away and let me walk out your store when I politely took off the towel. Nor would you respond and call me "trouble". Like I said, thank you for the negative experience. I went somewhere else, said the same thing and she laughed and said "dont worry, I got you". My hair is repaired, washed re-twisted and once again, I feel confident and pretty. Learn some compassion and be blessed.
Original Review
I found this place on instagram. I contacted them and made an appointment to get a consultation, loc repair and re-twist. I get there and I forgot the locs I needed to repair. I ask if she can use fake hair, the owner says “she doesn’t have.” Okay, still ask for a re-twist. I’m up to wash and I say to say “can you make sure it looks good?” Remember, I forget the locs and she doesn’t have any fake hair. This wasn’t said because I don’t think she doesn’t know what she’s doing. This is because, I’m walking around with missing hair, I feel ugly and overall I’m nervous. Immediately, the lady says “I’m gonna do my job. I’ve been in the business 25 years. I don’t know what you mean by”make sure it look good”. At this point, I took off the towel and said let me go because I see that I offended you and I didn’t mean to offend you. Lady, you may be in this business 25 years but you have zero years of empathy, understanding, patience or customer service. If you did, you would know that I was not trying to be rude and my comments had nothing to do with your skillset or expertise but my confidence. Thank you for the negative experience.

Natasha Smith Believe in Miracles—Because Bronxwood Natural Haircare Delivers Them
If you don’t believe in miracles, I assure you, you should now! For the past year and a half, I searched tirelessly for a hairstylist who could give me the locs I dreamed of. I entrusted my crown to five different individuals, only to be left unsatisfied—and, to be honest, heartbroken. Each hairdresser only added to the damage, leaving me on the brink of male pattern baldness. I consulted not only a dermatologist but also a trichologist, both of whom acknowledged that my hair was in very poor health. They didn’t push me to any drastic decisions, but after hearing their assessments and consulting other hair professionals, I began to consider that shaving my head might be my only option. It was a personal decision that I feared I might have to make.
I scoured the internet and social media for over a year, targeting people with locs I thought were absolutely stunning, but no one had a recommendation. Everyone claimed they did their own locs! Then, one early morning at 3 AM, I stumbled upon Bronxwood Natural Haircare on Instagram. For 2 to 3 weeks, I watched the videos, mesmerized by the craftsmanship, until I decided to give it a try.
When I arrived for my consultation, I was greeted by a head of locs that were, quite simply, life goals—long, full, mature, and meticulously maintained. I hadn’t even sat down yet when the owner (Dannette) told me exactly what needed to be done. Her sincerity struck me, but after so many failed attempts with other stylists, I was understandably hesitant. I had already spent thousands of dollars and countless hours with no results. Part of me wanted to cancel, to shave my head and be done with it.
But I prayed for guidance and decided to keep the appointment—and thank God I did. Bronxwood Natural Haircare (Dannette) did not disappoint.
The Danette’s focus, discipline, kindness, and 25 years of experience worked wonders. She took my damaged locs and restored them in a way I couldn’t have imagined. Other stylists had told me my hair was beyond saving, but she said, “Let me try.” And try she did! They washed my hair, massaged my scalp, treated it with such tender loving care, and gave me the attention my hair has never had in 20 years of going to salons.
This stylist (Dannette) is more than just a hairdresser. She works with purpose and power. Danette repaired my crown and restored my confidence with a skill that’s nothing short of miraculous. I’ve never seen anyone work like her, with such precision and grace.
If you’re unhappy with your locs or braids—if your hair isn’t healthy—look no further. I’ve been to the top salons in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and no one compares. Bronxwood Natural Hair Care is the answer. They don’t just style hair, they heal it. Trust me, they won’t disappoint!
