Prince Aziz Hunt I went to JNR Salon for a consultation about my locs and a retwist for them, which included a washing service. I ending up getting way better service than I was expecting. I traveled from my college down in Fredonia, NY to Buffalo and it was completely worth the trip. Their salon was so professional, official and aesthetically pleasing. It was like a hidden wonder of Buffalo. In my session there for my hair I was taught everything I truly needed to about my hair and how to take care of it in the future. I really needed to see a specialist, because I was at a point that I felt like I had to give up on locs. I didnt know how to truly how to take care of them or if they could be saved. Fortunately, I came to the right place and the stylist that I worked with - Gloria James, assisted me in educating me about my locs and she took care of them while doing so. From revealing to me why I was having breakage, how to reduce damage in the future, a regiment I need to follow to restore my health to what it could be, giving me a treatment to help my scalp and locs, restoring what locs she could in the time that she had and more. I found everything that I was looking for in my experience at this salon. I will gladly come back for another hair appointment in the future. I already have an appointment booked a month from now and Im dearly looking forward to it. Following my retwist I ended up buying a big bonnet that I could use while I was sleeping to protect my hair. I am very happy with that product as well. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a professional experience in hair care. Its worth the trip.

Jenny Cartagena My first experience meeting Jennifer, the owner and stylist of JNR Salon, was fantastic. Visiting Buffalo, NY, I decided to take a chance and see if there was any availability for a trim and blowout to prepare for a concert. Despite the very short notice, Jennifer graciously took me in immediately.She examined my hair, which was very dry and dull, and mentioned that if she had more time, she would love to wash and use some of her products to hydrate it. I told her I wouldn’t mind waiting to experience her full range of talent. Jennifer, sweet and determined to revive my hair, made the time to do so. With care and expertise, she transformed my hair, making it look luxurious and concert-ready.The only regret I have is not living in Buffalo to have Jennifer as my regular hair guru. Thank you, Jennifer, for giving me a glamorous look for the concert and for your wonderful product recommendations to keep my hair luscious. You are amazing!

Zaakirah Barry I have been coming to this salon for years now and they have been amazing to me and my hair! I typically get my silk press done here and they take great care of my hair. I highly recommend this salon!

Peters Denise I’ve been getting my nails done by Nina for almost 2 years now and she is without a doubt one of the top nail techs in Western NY. I walked into the salon and was immediately greeted by Jennifer. She showed me where to go and checked in during my appointment! Nina suggested at my last appointment that I try a structured gel manicure because I use my hands a lot and gel just wasn’t lasting. My set now lasts me until my next appointment!! Nina has always made me feel welcome and her service is 5 stars!

Julia I love this salon. From the owner to all the staff members, everyone is so nice. I’ve always had a great experience and great results. It’s a great location and they make you feel very comfortable and welcome.

Hope Devlin Annie, the owner, is kind and knowledgeable. My hair is kinky and difficult to take, but Annie worked wonders. Everyone at Imagine is pleasant and helpful. Julia does great waxing! Bonus, theyre prices are more than reasonable!!!

Emily Mahaffy I paid for the spa pedicure and it was a glorified nail painting. My friend who accompanied me had a completely different experience at the same price. Both nail artists did our nails at the same time however my pedicure was done in under 30 minutes while I waited an extra 50 minutes for my friend to get the actual service we both paid for. I still had to pay for the spa experience without receiving the services. I will not be returning.

Nita Bhatia Jordan is simply incredible. She did my bridal makeup and thank god she did! Not only was my makeup perfect, she knew exactly what to do when I didn’t have many specifics. I got so many compliments all day and the makeup lasted all night. I have truly never felt more beautiful, thanks to Jordan. It was way beyond what I expected. Not only was everyones makeup stunning, she is so fun and I loved having her around while getting ready! I couldn’t recommend Jordan more for her services, it was 10/10 all around!

Abigail Alexander I absolutely love Golden Hour! I am so happy I was able to book them for my wedding day. Not only did I love my hair for my wedding, but all my bridesmaids looked amazing and felt absolutely beautiful. Completely exceeded my expectations! Jordan was amazing throughout the trial process and communicating with me during the planning. I would recommend golden hour to everyone!!!

Victoria N This salon is my go to and Allie Grear is my lovely stylist ! I had never colored my hair before, but I trusted her to do so, and she exceeded my expectations. I have very dark hair and added blonde highlights. Also, she greatly restored my hair’s health. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

Kathryn Schiavitti When I tell you Shawn Smith is the best around I am NOT exaggerating! I am younger than 60 (GULP!) and Shawn has been cutting, highlighting and styling my hair for more than half my life. He is amazingly talented and charming to boot. The salon is upbeat and bright. He has the uncanny ability to know what style and/or color fits you and your lifestyle best without hesitation. Ive always said that "I only reserve the right to veto" because I trust him and his vision. Ive never been disappointed and Ive had an insane amount of hairstyles in the last 32 years..... short, long and everything in between. My hair, over the course of time, has decided to go from poker straight to natural curls.... Shawn is equally talented with both. If youre looking for the best stylist in WNY - LOOK NO FURTHER!!

Leah Moretta I have been going to Carly for years and she never disappoints! She listens to what I’m looking to do and is very open and honest as to what is achievable and her professional opinion. I always leave her chair with my hair looking better than ever. The salon is very clean and the staff is friendly. I don’t plan on going anywhere else anytime soon.

Kaitlynn Huff Ahhh! Such a great first experience. The receptionist, Vanessa, is stellar. She is so sooo nice. And Emily was amazing. She is so cool, passionate and talented. She gave me a trim with some curtain bangs and I was nervous because I hadn’t been in 2 years and I’m newer to the area. This was the first time I ever loved a haircut and not just liked it. Brynn After digging around for months for a new stylist, I decided to give Studio 806 a try. I’m so thrilled to report that I was absolutely blown away by my experiences! I met with Carissa back in September of this year when I was in desperate need of a fresh trim. This was my first time at Studio 806 and I was incredibly impressed by my experience in her chair. She was kind and so considerate, and she did an incredible job! I knew from then on that I would return to the studio, but it wasn’t until this week that I did so. After a failed attempt to color my own hair at home in time for the holidays, I decided it was time to revisit Studio 806 for a full color application and trim. I was nervous initially, but upon meeting Sierra and speaking with her about all of the ways in which she could manage/fix my hair, I was completely comfortable. She was so reassuring and knowledgeable, and I truly felt like I was in good hands. Sierra not only fixed my terrible dye job, but she made excellent suggestions for how to best maintain my hair and hair color until my next appointment. If you are looking for someone to provide high-quality results while still tailoring your hair to how you want it, I highly recommend you book your next appointment with Sierra! Aside from my amazing experiences with both Carissa and Sierra, I think the overall atmosphere of the salon is so welcoming and deserves recognition. In my experience at Studio 806, the stylists are so friendly with each other and kind to every client. The customer service aspect of the salon alone deserves 5 stars! Sierra herself commented on how much she loves working at the salon, and I think that speaks volumes to the kindness and professionalism of the owners, stylists, assistants, and the rest of the staff and team who all work together to make the studio welcoming to all. Catherine Keys I have very thick wavy hair, and trying a new stylist always gives me anxiety since not everyone knows what to do with it. Jaycee did an amazing job of calming my nerves. She gave me a great trim and long layers that dont look chunky or stacked, and she finished my cut & blowdry in record time! Ill definitely be coming back to her and strongly recommend her to anyone else who has PTSD from getting bad layers in the past.

Eric Rautenstrauch Zoe was as professional as it comes. It was my first massage and she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. She listened and my back and neck feel great a week later. Leah Marie - Mindfully Ready I just had my first appointment with Amanda, and wow, where have you been all my life?! She specializes in curl cuts, and it makes such a difference to work with someone who truly understands texture and curl patterns. I went for a huge change today, cutting off a lot of length, and I’m so glad I found the right person to make it happen. Amanda is warm, welcoming, and so easy to talk to. I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Highly recommend!

Hollie I’ve seen Amanda for years for dry, curly cuts. She doesn’t just cut my curls, she cuts curls into my hair. My hair feels both thicker and lighter after a fresh cut. With a shape that holds for at least two months. I’ve tried other stylists who specialize with curls but the cut is inevitably blunt. Giving that triangle shape with no volume at the top. It’s not enough to style the curl. The cut has to compliment the unique curl pattern and Amanda is a master at that. She’s also super friendly, understandable, and has a calm soothing energy about her. The shop is cute and in a great location. A must stylist for anyone with curls.

Emily Daham Amanda has been cutting my hair at New Age Salon for years and she is the best! She has excellent technique and I always get a wonderful cut that grows out beautifully. Amanda is professional, kind and a delight to spend time with. The salon is clean and has a lovely selection of boutique items. Also get to snuggle her adorable puppy during appointments. Highly recommend!!

Andrew Couell I recently visited Amanda at New Age Salon and couldnt be happier with the experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. Amanda took the time to understand what I wanted and offered great suggestions. The haircut was spot on—clean, modern, and exactly what I asked for. Highly recommend if youre looking for a very skilled stylist who knows their craft!

Marissa Dorato I would never recommend this salon. The hair extensions look like a rats nest, and I was told I was getting hand tied extensions and they were machine tied. I paid $1000 for Amazon fake hair extensions. Be very cautious using this salon!! These pictures were 2 days after I had the services done!!

alex Gotten my hair cut w Carl a couple times and he does a good job. Trimmed up the beard nice too plus fun to talk to.

Steven Caldwell cant speak to the quality of the salon services, as Ive been seeing the barber, Carl, for quite some time now. weve reached a point where I trust him to just do what he wants when I stop in for a cut/beard trim. not only is he super skilled, but hes friendly and conversational too. its made my visits something I look forward to for a variety of reasons. I wont go anywhere else

Steve Flynn Very cozy and inviting atmosphere with such friendly staff. It has the old school feeling of a salon and barbor shop with good conversation and décor, while at the same time having a modern look. The Stylist do fantastic work I personally go to Carl the master barber who always has me leaving feeling my best self! Prices are more than reasonable for the outstanding services offered. I would highly recommend seeing them for your next cut!

Bruce Miller Michelle for hair is a wonderful salon. Michelle is great to work with and her son Carl equally. so they care a great deal about the person they serve they do it with a smile and they do an excellent job.

Neil Gablenz I saw Carl the first time in September 2023 to get a fresh cut before my wedding. He suggested something different and I went along. So glad I did! Carl really knows what styles will work best with hair types and shapes, and helped me find a new look I love. Looking forward to seeing him again!

Awilda Alicea Efrain has been my hairstylist for over 20 years. He is the only one that can handle my ethnic hair. He is an excellent professional and caring individual. Well loved in the Hispanic community, and a representative of his Puerto Rican culture. If he ever retires, it will be impossible to find a hairstylist as great as him.

Rocco Anastasio This is a very warm and friendly barbershop. The atmosphere is great and haircut even better. Efrain is an really good barber who makes the tediousness of getting a haircut quite the experience. Definitely recommended. He takes his time and knows how to use scissors! Five Stars!!!

Ashley Levine Absolutely love the beauticians here! I have been twice now for a spiral perm, most recently right before my wedding, and they have done a phenomenal job with unbeatable prices. For the most recent perm right before my wedding, I wound up doing my own hair for the ceremony because the spiral perm was so good I was able to just pull it back into loose half up braids for a very beautiful wedding look! (Sorry I don’t have the really good pics back yet) Everyone was so impressed with their work, but most of all my MIL who made sure to come and get her hair done (colored and trimmed I think) and she dragged along my new hubby for a touch up too. All before the big day. Appointments are easy and quick to schedule and they are great company while getting you beauty restored! ;) I will continue to use these ladies as long as I’m still digging the spiral perm! Or any kind of hair care for that matter.

Brittny Thompson LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this shop! When I arrived, I immediately sat in the seat and my hair was started. I got a wash, retwist as well as two strand twists which was done very neatly and tight. The hair dryers are super nice too as well as the shop. Friendly people and overall and amazing experience, definitely after having a hard time finding a good/professional salon in Buffalo for my locs. I found my new spot and will be returning!

Meghan Dotts I booked a hair and make up appointment in February for an August wedding. The salon called two hours before my appointment to let me know the stylist called out and they had no one to rebook me with at the scheduled times. I was offered a later appointment and when I told them that wouldn’t work, as I wouldn’t make it to the wedding in time, I was told there was nothing they could do. Poor customer service.

Madison Perrelli Sarah H. has cut my hair twice now and she is truly the best! So funny and personable, which I really appreciate since I tend to be awkward and never know what to talk about at appointments lol. She really knows what she’s doing and always makes me look great and feel so confident. If you are interested in supporting a junior stylist I’d 100% recommend Sarah!

Hannah I’m so thankful to have found this salon! I was able to get my hair cut the same day of booking thank the lord because I so badly needed it. Alexis was very professional, accommodating, and far surpassed my expectations. I was nervous considering I came in with issues from my current extensions (done at a different salon) and a slightly grown out undercut that needed some taming. She didn’t rush through the process at all. She even cared enough to have another stylist, Amy, go through my hair and suggest the best route to take regarding my extensions, making sure my hair isn’t getting any more damaged. She even took a few out for me that were on the verge of breaking off anyway. I almost cried at the end because of the relief I felt after my appointment. I have never been so pleased. Very refreshing experience! :)

Jillian Fawn and Fox is so great! Julie does my hair, and I absolutely adore her. She did an AMAZING rainbow dye for me. I feel valued as a customer there, and Julie is very passionate about her work and doesnt rush so that she can get it right. I really appreciate that. Andrea also does my friend’s hair - he has longer hair than me, and she helps him manage all those luscious locks!! Love love love this salon.

Imon Candelaria Went in for a balayage and cut. VERY VERY disappointed with both color and cut. The stylist seemed very confident in their skills. One wash later I realized that all the highlights had harsh lines towards my roots, no blending whatsoever. Few weeks in and my hair already looked grown out. And the cut was NOTHING like what I had requested. I insisted on showing my inspo pictures to the stylist yet again, before they started the cut and they responded that they "clearly remember" the cut I requested. Long story short, VERY DISAPPOINTED. Its a LOT of money to pay for disappointing service. Will NOT be returning.

Dimetria Welch I made an appointment with a hairdresser already knowing I was going to get canceled on for the millionth time. Absolutely not! I finally was able to get in Caira chair and now I had to face my anxiety of being in a salon since I hadn’t been in years. This was the best experience! She was very happy to service me and made it an amazing day for me. No long wait, check ins and the beautiful final outcome. I can’t believe I actually feel like I found the one for me! Kerri “Kerrbear” I got a coco keratin treatment and am so happy. I got the treatment because I wanted something to help me manage my hair better. As soon as I walked I. The salon there was a coat room. Aesthetically the salon is nice and clean. My stylist came in on time and was super professional the whole time. Everyone who was there clearly was having a good time myself included. I love the way my hair came out. Caira gave me instructions on how I can take care of my hair and how to use my aftercare products. I’m super super happy and will definitely be going back!

Journey Martinez Tried this place out because it was open on Sunday and close by, and I just moved here and dont know any better. Didnt realize how cheap it was. Asked to get my hair bleached. I already had platinum highlights, wanted to match that color, they said that was fine. But my hair is orange. I look like a clown. It took them several hours to do what I couldve done in half an hour at home. I was expecting to pay around $300 for something right. But they messed my hair up for only $80! What a steal. Am I going to accept this orange creamy dessert color? No because I have a job and cant show up to the office like this.

Jackie Rivera Very excellent work and the girls are very nice. I asked for a trim and not many little layers and they turned out exactly how I asked her to style it! Will be going back guaranteed. Appointments are highly recommended. Walk-ins are welcomed. Had to wait today but was happy with the outcome.

Baton Morina The haircut is really good and the staff is friendly. If you are a guy, the wait time is really long and sometimes they tell you to come in the next day because they are really busy. Not ideal for walk-ins. Make appointment before going.

Laura Mascari This is by far the best affordable salon in Buffalo! You dont need to make an appointment to be seen but if youre in a hurry, I recommend that you make an appointment. The staff is very friendly and professional. I am always satisfied with their work.

Jackie Cook Pretty disappointed that this salon cancelled my appointment at 7:30am on Saturday morning before they even opened, my appointment was for noon the same day. Didn’t even offer a different hair stylist. Now I have to find someone that will take a walk-in on a Saturday so I can get my hair cut before an important interview that upcoming Monday. I find it disrespectful to cancel an appointment prior to you even opening, providing we gave you our phone number to contact us. Feels very impersonal and gives the impression you are dodging conversation with future patrons. I specifically chose your salon out of many in Elmwood village, and I regret it now (hoping another salon in the same area will take me as a walk-in now). Maybe consider changing your method of cancellation or become more personal towards new patrons — it is not a good way to recruit and retain customers. Best of luck to your salon.

Joseph DiBiase First time at Karma and already know this is my new salon in the Buffalo area! The staff is both, kind and caring in their work and overall demeanor, and they do great work at a fair price. They also fit me in right away, just hours before I had to leave for a wedding, and gave me some product they were out of in a travel bottle for the flight. Lauren Richards I am typically easygoing about my hair, but I have never disliked a color/ cut as much as from this salon. The staff is very friendly and welcoming so I dont want to downplay their customer service. I asked for a balayage with bright whiter tones of blonde dimension to break up the ashy-brown that had grown out. The ends of my hair were already a bright blonde from previous highlights. I had a natural ombre growing out and I pulled strands from it to show the color I was going for. After 3 and a half hours, my hair was finished and was a solid brassy blonde color, and the ends were grey where new color and the old blonde overlapped. All dimension was gone. For a cut, I asked to take a couple inches off and to add layers. The stylist took about 10 minutes to do the haircut and the style didnt look much different, though it was shorter. When I got home, I realized how yellow and grey my hair looked and thought "Ill sleep on it and see how I feel tomorrow..." The following day, I called to ask if there was something that could be done to fix my hair and they got me in within the hour. The stylist that was supposed to work on my hair again was late for work so I sat and waited, and eventually another employee started working on my hair. She agreed it wasnt remotely like the picture I referenced the day before. My goal was at least to get the grey and brass colors out. She started painting demi-permanent color on my roots to blend them better with the blonde, and then said the ends would need to be toned again with two different types of toner. I was there for about an hour, so it was a total of 4 and a half hours between the two days, and my hair has turned out yellow. Good luck if you go- it may have been the specific girl that did my hair. Other customers seemed content with their hair. The attached picture is the result an Im not a fan at all. Its very disappointing.

Charisma I came in for a haircut recently and walked out with the worst haircut Ive ever had in my life. Its so choppy and looks like the girl took a chainsaw to my hair. Ive never had a haircut that makes me never want to leave the house until now. Seriously it should be illegal for this woman to cut hair.

Amber OSullivan Jamie did an amazing job with my daughters hair. She was so compassionate and efficient. Jamie was very respectful and knowledgeable of my wants and needs for my daughter. Jamie was very professional and educated me on what needs to be done for the upkeep of her hair.

Anna Updike I used Cortos for my bridal hair and makeup and could not have been happier with my experience! Sue was so amazing, helpful, and timely with communication. The stylists came to my house to get myself and my bridal party ready and were so much fun! They also did an incredible job on everyone! I would highly recommend Cortos to anyone looking for affordable, elegant, and professional bridal services!

Jess Colangelo Booked a full foil and the stylist took it apon herself to do a heavy foil. They proceeded to charge me for something I didnt want and what the stylist chose to do. The management is terrible and basically doesnt resolve the issue just says theres nothing they can do. This isnt the first time Ive had issues with this salon. Its a cheaper salon but will do anything to take your money. Best advice I can give anyone looking for a salon, choose a different one because there are plenty around the Buffalo area that with give you great results and wont do everything they can to take your money.

Therese Bass I booked with Kiarra who was running a Holiday special on Silk Press + Deep conditioning steam treatment+trim. She was timely, communicative (asking about my preferred styling ,some curls or straight silk press, asked about water temps and communicated when she would use cool water at the end to seal my hairs cuticle, highlighted the system she uses for heat protecting my curls which starts from the shampoo bowl to the styling, and asked about the amount of hair she would trim off before begin to cut), inquisitive (asking about how I care for my hair post press and offering some tips). She also invests in her craft by using high quality products and styling tools (e.g. olaplex, babyliss, Dyson etc.) which clearly make a difference in outcome. I was satisfied with my experience and outcome of my hair. She will be my new go to for the times throughout the year I choose to wear my 3C/4a kinky curly hair straightened

tyeshabrown26 Getting my hair done at High Klass is always amazing & the atmosphere is very professional. My stylist Kiarra energy is contagious & she makes sure it’s always an experience of a lifetime with my silk press & trim. I’m very picky when it comes to my hair but she never make me feel like it bothers her but rather like she understands exactly where I’m coming from. Her timing is very efficient making me feel like I got in and out while still feeling like I got the full salon treatment. Kiarra is a 10/10 highly recommend!

Sharon Williams I had been looking for a good stylist for years. Almost gave up hope until I found Kiarra at High Klass. Shes super professional, always on time, I never have to wait, and she is truly invested in the health of my hair. She listens to my concerns/answers my questions so that I am always comfortable. My hair is the healthiest it has been in years and I owe it to Kiarras expertise and care. Honestly I cant say enough about how talented she is. The salon has an amazing/professional atmosphere and Im so glad to have found a "home" for my hair.

selita namwinga The young lady is very personable , polite and respectful. But her work is sloppy. I had a frontal done for my wedding. The weave itself was well done but the lace did not look finished or natural. For my wedding I masked the lace with makeup to me it look less unnatural. Less than a week after my wedding the glue was showing and the lace was coming off. I called the owner of the salon to schedule an appointment to fix the lace. She scheduled me on a Monday when her store is closed. Not knowing this I call her 15 mins before the appointment. Phone rang until voicemail. When I called again it went straight to voicemail. I text her and she never responded. I get to the store, its locked up and the lights are off (I never got an apology or explanation) I had to spend an extra $100 at another salon to fix the lace. Fast forward I schedule an appt to remove the lace and have a hair treatment done. Provided she was busy...She did not put a cap over me to prevent excess water running on my clothes. She used a damp towel to cover my shoulders. She goes on to use the same towel to dry my hair. By the time she got to drying my hair the sweatshirt I was wearing was wet and I was cold (we are in January). She blew dry my hair but it was not dry completely which made me even colder. Disappointed with my whole experience!
