Ceonnie Ashanti I recently went twice and both times people who came AFTER ME (the second time it’s was 3 women who all came after and were sitting in chairs before me and they just so happened to be Hispanic while I’m black)finished before me and both times I had to leave with my hair halfway done(and by half way I mean literally only dried)because I’d been sitting there for 2+ hours already. This has only happened when the blonde haired woman was there. When Maritza herself does my hair it’s no problem whatsoever. I think the woman is her sister idk nor do I care because at this point I will not be returning.

brenda cooper My experience was okay, I was not really happy about the fact that I have to bring my own hair bobby pins just to get my hair in pin up curls instead of rocking out my hair..and I also was charged 2 different prices both times Ive been..Im not sure why..maybe my hair grew ..overall it was okay

Maité Cruz Kristin is the best hair stylist Ive ever had. She is extremely talented but still offers affordable prices. She is super nice, and her salon is very charming too!

A I had to find a new hairdresser as my go to place closed. Finding a new hairdresser is hard for me cause I’m shy and nervous about bad haircuts, but I think I found the one on the first try. Kristin was so kind, and easy to talk to. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she gave me the exact cut as pictured. Sometimes after a haircut, when I’m given the mirror I don’t feel satisfied or happy. She gave me the mirror and I was so relieved and happy with my cut and style. She was able to do my mom’s color and cut as well and did a great job and really got into the knowledge of hair color and skin tone to pick the right color. She also really studies your hair to see how your hair flows, moves. Prices are comparable to others in the area and for the intimacy and work it’s worth every penny. Btw, she has a kitty named Bella. So cute!

We were positive her hair was absolutely beyond saving. We were even told by two other local places it was a lost cause to fix it and it still look good. Kristin not only fixed the issue, it came out looking amazing.

Zoe Evans I see Marissa at Jordans lounge, and I cant recommend her and the entire staff enough! I have been going to Jordans lounge for almost 10 years now and Marissa specifically for around 6ish years-- they have never disappointed. First and foremost, everyone is so friendly, nice, and accepting. I never feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. Secondly, every color vision I have wanted has been perfectly executed and I always leave with exactly what I wanted. Marissa has brought me from pink, to blue, to orange, to green, etc. The list goes on and on. Marissa also does a MEAN mullet/razor cut, if you want alt hair, she has it perfected. I feel like the prices are appropriate for how much care, dedication, and expertise go into the service. If you are looking for a consistent, trustworthy, and caring salon, this is it!

Victoria OConnor I went to Liv for a major change from my naturally dark brown hair (which was mid-back length) to lavender and I’ve gone to her ever since. The first time I came in, we talked about the look I wanted and she took the time to create the perfect lavender. I had been told by a few other stylists previously that dying my hair that light wouldn’t be possible or that it would take multiple sessions over a few months. Liv was able to do it in one session! Considering she had to bleach it completely to white first, she made sure my hair stayed strong and healthy throughout the entire process. My hair came out BEYOND what I imaged. I absolutely loved it and felt amazing. Liv and the entire Pinup Jordan’s Mermaid Lounge KNOWS HAIR. I recommend anyone wanting to dye their hair vivid or pastel colors to go there-they know how to do it right!

The atmosphere is so inviting and every staff member was incredibly kind and attentive, making the whole salon experience so much fun. Michelle Horyczun Liv did the most amazing job on my hair. Ive never had a stylist pay such close and careful attention to the entire process of doing my hair. Which took 7 hours mind you, and she never got bored or inattentivefor a second. She was absolutely incredible in her talent, attitude, and knowledge. I gave her full freedom in how she did my hair and I have to say she 10000000% KILLED it! Im in love with my hair. Ive never been so confident, and after a prior horrible botch job on my hair. ... this restored all of my amazing hair feelings and confidence and i walk around so happy now with my new hair. Couldnt possibly recommend this place more. Also met Jordan who was such an amazing human as well!

Michele Biscossi I have been to several places in the capitol region over the past 3 decades. I had NO idea that this incredible salon was in Rotterdam. I can’t say enough about the salon and Lisa the owner. I have been so blessed to have met Angela that does my hair. Every stylist in the salon is OVER THE TOP AMAZING! These girls all have a special bond and are close friends. As soon as I enter the salon I can feel the sweetest and most peaceful energy. I have NEVER had a salon experience like this and the only thing I’d say is I wish I had found Angela and the salon & Lisa sooner! They are so genuine, so authentic, and there is no salon ANYWHERE that can hold a candle TO REWIND. Hard working dedicated and so totally awesome. Craig Zachary Maybe I sat on the wrong side, or that I was kind of shy and nervous to speak up. I was noticed by several of the staff, but I think for the side I was sitting on they werent aware I wanted to have my hair cut. They didnt look too busy, so I figured maybe I got lucky, but I wasnt really noticed. But I am pretty sure you may need an appointment based on how many staff I saw too. I see it from both sides: 1. I should of spoken up but it can be difficult for me, 2. It would of been nice to be asked if I was all set and/or checked in like the other two women were asked (but I think I sat on the wrong side in the reception area).

Amanda Stevens Ive been having my hair colored/styled by Megan for about 7/8 years and I always leave feeling beautiful. It was a no brainer that I would ask her and the Studio Balayage team to do my wedding and I was not disappointed! These talented ladies were phenomenal! It was a big job (7 bridesmaids, mom and MIL) and they handled it with professionalism and ease. My hair and makeup could not have looked more perfect and all of the girls looked stunning! Heather Bulger Every stylist is very talented! I have been a customer for 10+ years and Ill be a customer forever. I have used the service of each of the stylists in this facility and I have never been disappointed! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the company is always great! My daughter has also utilized Vivid for updos (for proms), eyebrows waxings, and haircuts as well for the last 10 years. I cant say enough about the staff at Vivid!

bsoplinger First time I ever had my hair colored. Somewhat expensive to me but typical from what Ive gathered when I was looking for a place that dealt with mens hair. Stylist was extremely pleasant and did an excellent job matching my hair color and making my grey dissappear. She jokingly told me that I looked 20 years younger. I dont feel like I looked anything like that much younger but I liked the results and being without my grey.

Colleen We met with Kelley, and she’s an angel! My daughter is 6 and was extra silly and saying some outrageous things. Kelley was so patient and kind. My daughters hair came out amazing, she’s in love. We will definitely be back!!!

Jessica Tapp My experience was absolutely amazing here. The atmosphere is so adorable and inviting for starters. The ladies in there are so sweet and fun, I went there on a whim and I know now where Ill be going from now on. Michelle has done a stunning job on my hair, I hadnt gotten a cut in literally about 1.5-2 years and of course I was nervous as anyone would be when trying out a new place but this is by far worth every penny. If you pass up this place due to other comments from the few negative remarks then its your loss.

Juanita MIchelle at In Style Salon in Schenectady is an expert hair cutter, colorist and stylist. She has been doing my hair for 14 years, and I get compliments everywhere I go.Her skills are on-trend, her technique is superb, and ... she listens. The best.

Abraham Cardenas They should really start booking on Booksy and show some portfolios or something. Walked in thinking this place was going to be a smooth easy cut. It was full except for one guy. I see others waiting (red flag) but I thought "its got good reviews so anyone here would probably be alright" but I was naive. I dont have the most difficult cut in the world and dont even ask for much. Just a 2 on the sides w a high fade and a little off the top. No lineup or anything just a simple cut. Not sure the dudes name who cut me but hes a younger guy looks to be middle eastern descent with maybe speak jamaican but he had no idea how to blend the sides with the top. Asked for rectangle side burns and he just about cut them off. Had to tell the dude to blend the sides to the top better and it still came out terrible. Had to fix it myself. Thankfully Ive been cutting my hair since the pandemic but it was my birthday and wanted to treat myself. Not sure whos hiring the barbers or if he was just a stray that walked in with some clippers and they said "whatever" but not a good experience. DEFINITELY not worth no $30. I still tipped bc Im too nice. Edit in response to the owner: the cut was done on Saturday. The man did not have a jamaican accent but he spoke some kind of jamaican sounding language.

She listened to me and took her time formulating a plan for the services I was to receive. Gardenia thoroughly explained what she was doing throughout the process. I was in a place of grief and Gardenia was pleasant and conversational. I left feeling beautiful and very satisfied with the quality of my hair cut and highlights.

coachmeeks1 Meeks I go to this location often, they are always kind and professional. I always receive a great haircut but I want to compliment Ebony, she did a spectacular job. At 63 I have spots that I am conscious of and she was able to make it all work together and look Super.

Meghan A Lauren is amazing! She always takes my ideas and caters them perfectly to my hair. Highly recommend this location in general! I always see that each stylist has regular clients. You don’t always see that in chain hair salons.

Dave Duerr My stylist of choice is Lauren. Lauren does an excellent job of cutting and washing my hair, I am never disappointed. The location is in dire need of a re-face as the environment is warn and looks a bit used, but the quality of Laurens services makes up for that (for me, at least). I imagine that there are some people that would not return because the place is in such bad condition.

Alice Myers Was looking for a new place to get my hair done. Looking online I saw this place with a decent rating and reviews. So I went to get my hair done. What a mistake!! I told the person I wanted my hair 1/2 inch above my shoulders with layers. Not a hard request. The stylist cut my hair to be even with my ear lobe all around. It made me look like a boy which Im definitely not. I look terrible. My vacation is over after today which Im dreading going to work based on how it looks. I will never go back. Worst haircut ever. I wouldnt even give a 1 star but it doesnt allow for a 0

After many failed attempts for many years, I finally found Lauren at Infinity Hair Salon and Studio. Her cut and styling was modern and the highlights are to die for. Thoroughbred She does phenomenal work with braids! It would nice if she could keep her appointments and not make me wait over half hour sometimes one hour from the time my appointment was made for. Regardless I would still recommend this place. Her hair braiding skills are amazing.

Serena Farrell Please do not book with this place. Khady is very unprofessional. Within the 3 times i’ve book with her she’s been over 30 minutes late. Also NEVER compensated me for it. My final straw was when I came on time to my appointment(4:30pm). She told me she could do 8 or 9pm, reassuring me that she was gonna be able to do my hair on that day. It gets around 10pm and she completely stopped answering my messages basically ghosting me. While she caught a flight to Jamaica the day she was supposed to do my hair. Then told me the next morning after ghosting me she was going to “help me find a stylist and double my deposit” but never did either of those things. save your money.

Heather did such a good job on my 4 year old’s haircut but was also nice to both parents and my son, encouraging him when he started getting a little antsy. she was fast and super efficient. F Shareen (Reen) Would have been 5 stars , but unfortunately when we got home my foster daughter and I found dye all on her scalp . Plus the color is not bright enough at all . Supposed to be purple and pink . I barely see any of the pink ! I made the joke with the stylist that I must be color blind . She said I would possibly see it in the Sun . Well , it’s a cloudy day so I guess I’ll check when the Sun comes out lol . But , over all the service and patience of the stylist was phenomenal. Just wish the color came out differently. Thanks

Katina Rizzo Belkis and her daughter Idelkis are so good at their wash and sets! My daughter has gotten her hair done by them over the years and it’s only place I will take to get her hair done. I got roughly 5 inches taken off and layers and my daughter couldn’t stop looking at herself. My daughter has super long and thick hair so for the time and the price it’s well worth it.

Ms Dbj Such a bad experience.. they didn’t even bother to do my hair.. all they did was make fun of me on how my hair looked said it would take 9 hours to actually do my hair all because I used boxed hair dye. Not friendly at all don’t go here !!!

charmaine mack I went for a wash and trim. I honestly didnt think of ethnicity when I googled a salon and when this popped up and I saw the reviews I was excited. I normally go to a domican or African American salon so to me a salon is a salon. Well when I walked in Ms. Janice was very nice and her daughter as well. They had a woman wash my hair and the way she acted was ridiculous..she was mad about something and it was all in her face. She hardly washed my scalp, acted like she did not want to touch my hair. Never spoke once to me, not a hi or have a good day or thanks for coming. I did come in with my hair straight but as a black woman once it gets wet it curls fast. She started ripping my hair with a hard brush to stop it from curling up. Clearly there is a culture neglect in their service. Once she was done washing my hair she put mouse in my hair I told her no bc it has alcohol and it will stiffen and dry my hair. She put it in anyway as if she didnt hear me, then she went back to trying to brush my hair with the same brush to " detangle" my hair and I checked her. Its curly and if you comb it it separates. Then the daughter tried to say it cant separate as if she knew my hair. So once she got to blowing it the mad lady left it partially wet in the middle and only flat ironed the ends . Ms Janice trimmed it for me as that was the real reason I came bc I needed to braid my hair from a concert. I paid but did not tip bc the mad ladies attitude was not worth it and I always tip. I went home a dried my own hair properly. I would say either they are not used to black peoples hair in a mainly black city as Schenectady NY, then they should try bc its really sad the way I was treated. But I paid and was polite as expected. If you are black with 4c curly hair, dont go here. Stay with the domicians bc her clients are all Indian and it seems that is what is preferred, which is ok bc everyone has to have a place to call their own but if you get a customer different then dont be rude. Thats all Im saying.

Cheryl Baum Before moving to FL I have been a loyal client for 30 years with Ralf. I have had my hair cut and colored by Ralf, Anita and Eric. They are the epitome of professionalism. It is rare to find a consistently excellent salon over this many years. I highly recommend this salon in Schenectady; it is warm, friendly and they know what they are doing. I will still have appointments with them while I am in the area.

Mildred Nichols It had been almost 2yrs since I had my hair cut or colored. I decided to check out different salons in my area and their reviews. I found that the hair salon International Hair Design by Ralf had great reviews, especially of Eric. I called and got an appointment for Saturday. When I walked in the salon, I was completely in awe. It was spotless, clean and felt that I had stepped into a salon in New York. The equipment and everything was up to date. The whole experience was astounding. The shop is a family business. Father, mother and Eric their son. Eric did my hair. What an amazing job. The cut, color and style. I rate this shop 10 star. Thank you Eric.

He always cut the back shorter than the bangs. My complaint comes from and appointment I had in Oct. 23. Where I paid $50. For a cut plus 20$ for tip for a haircut. I showed a picture of the cut, he explained it was done with a razor, I said the worst haircut I ever had was with a razor and I did not think it was good for my hair. He proceeded to cut my hair from start to finish with the blade. He did not section in thin sections like regular cuts with scissors. He just grabbed and cut. When I got home and washed my hair I saw and felt the absolute butcher job he did. I started to cut hair that he and his razor missed. One side was shorter than the other and one side had a chunk in the middle that was shorter than the front and back on that side. I was so mad I had to wait a few weeks before going in and talking to him politely and discreetly. I told him he could not fix it at that time because my hair was too short for him to fix. I finally went back last week, four months later. My hair didn’t grow because it was so bad but I could not take it any more. I went back he put shampoo but didn’t really wash and did not even bother to put conditioner in. He trimmed my hair, blowed it out. As I was putting my hoodie on he was behind the register. He CHARGED me 37.50 to fix my hair that HE screwed up! And he thought he was being generous by giving me 25% off!??! I was so stunned I didn’t say anything. I walked out I did not leave a tip. A few days later I emailed him telling him what I thought and that I will not be going back and I will not be. I paid him for a hair style I did not not get plus a generous tip for the worst haircut of my life and he charged me to fix his mistake? Nope never going back. I could have done in October what I am doing now, I could have gone into the shop and made a scene, I did not. This is a warning to everyone be aware he will screw up your hair and charge you to fix it!
