Saranya Laventhirarajah I’ve found my go-to salon. I have thick high density curly hair and I’ve never had a beach wave blow out like this before. Melissa is a magician and was able to get it done within an hour. I didn’t even have to show her a photo example. She knew exactly what I wanted. The girls there made me feel so comfortable too. And the best part is that their prices are SO reasonable and fair. Please give this salon a try especially if you’re a curly girl! This is where I will be going if I ever want to heat style my hair for an event!!

Stephanie Hanley This place is amazing! You walk in and immediately feel like you’re with family. Gina is the sweetest person and I trust her so much with my hair. Her staff is amazing as well. Fun to talk to, great energy and all around amazing personalities.

Chris Tina Absolutely the best salon I’ve been to on Staten Island. It’s an incredibly positive atmosphere and so much fun to be around! I’ve been very satisfied with all of the services from microblading, lashes to my color and cuts. Awesome blowouts and makeup for weddings too. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and like family. Great salon! 10/10 would recommend!

Tracy Demarest I was a walk-in seeking a new salon for color correction and maintenance, blow-outs, and cuts. Tony (the salon owner) color corrected my hair. It looks phenomenal and I receive many compliments on the color. As to the hair cut, I provided a photo of a cut people told me would look great. He did cut my hair to the photo. As I told him when I went back “It’s not you! It’s me”. Please recut my hair to a new photo I provided with me as the model with a haircut I had always loved on me. He laughed then cut it to perfection. He even didn’t charge me. Thank you Tony. I find his staff professional, efficient, and friendly. I highly recommend.

N Cru I was here to get my bridal updo and the whole experience was lovely. I went in for a free consultation which only took about 10 minutes, she told me I needed extensions and got them at another store. I came in for a trial and then did the updo early on my wedding day. The salon staff is so sweet and accommodating, but be sure to make an appointment! It can get very busy :) I will absolutely keep coming here. Isabella is an artist at what she does. She is so gentle, caring and extremely focused when she gets to work. I am so very happy with my hair and would recommend to anyone living in Staten island!

Elaine Messi I highly recommend Isabellas. I have been coming here for years and they never do a bad job, as a matter of fact everytime I get my hair done I get such amazing compliments. Isabella is so Talented at what she does. My last experience I wanted something different and cool for my trip to Dubai and I told her to surprise me and she colored my hair Red and sometimes that can be scary if its not done right, however I KNEW no matter what she did it would be AMAZING and it was. EVERYONE was commenting on how amazing my hair looked, not to mention she never damages my hair (which has happened to me at other salons). So if you are looking for a professional, talented, kind and phenomenal Hair salon and staff, then you have found the best GEM on Staten Island.

Amanda Donovan I love Ted and Co. I’ve been a loyal customer for almost 4 years. Aveda products are all natural and do not give me a reaction. Plus the color lasts! I have bright red hair and it stays between touchups. My stylist Marina is a true artist! She is the only person allowed to touch my hair LOL

Nicole Nelson Stylist- Kaitlyn. Have been getting my hair done by Kaitlyn and can truly say my hair has never been longer or healthier thanks to her. As someone with a condition (pcos) that causes a ton of hair loss - I have never been able to grow my hair consistently until I started going to Kaitlyn. Her price list is extremely competitive and fair, and she won’t do services that would damage your hair just to charge more . She recommends what you need and will tell you the least damaging route to take to get you where ya wanna be. Kaitlyn (and the salon as a whole) use all natural products and she makes sure to not over process. One thing I notice specifically is that she takes her time when styling/blow drying to make sure there’s not a lot of scalp tension/pull which also significantly decreases the amount of hair loss.

Tina B I never had a better experience, the owner Shane is absolutely amazing the atmosphere is spectacular my daughter used Rachael and I used Fallon we both had our color done and cuts also. They were the best. No salon can never ever compare to come close to merkari. Shane you have amazing staff you truly no how to run a place of business. I live in Florida and was searching for someone to do professional hair and make up for my son‘s wedding on Staten Island. From start to finish it was a flawless experience. I did a trial hair and makeup a couple of months ago and it far surpassed anything I could have hoped for. I don’t like to look very made up and Jen made me a beautifully enhanced version of myself both with my makeup and hair. For the actual wedding day Jen came to my local hotel and, once again, I loved my gorgeous makeover. Shane was an absolute pleasure to work with and put me totally at ease with the entire process. The salon was open just for my party which added to the experience. We had a nice layout of different breakfast items and beverages. It was the perfect start to make my day so special. yaya casillas I have been waiting and wanting to get my hair cut here for years… I finally made the trip and I am so thankful I did. I had a hair cut by Jenna and hair wash from (Miranda??) both amazing souls and the relaxation was top notch! Arelys Nolasco Both of my little girls were blessed with curly hair which I’ve tried my best to learn to upkeep- I started going to city curls 2 years ago, when my daughter turned 5, for her first curly cut! Jenna did an amazing job! And ever since then I’ve gone every so often for their kids day!!! They make it such an amazing experience for kids, they make it fun, offering coloring pages which my daughter absolutely loves!!!! And little treat bags and always have an awesome theme, we’ve seen their pinneaple theme two years ago, their glow party last year and this year, their Valentine’s Day theme (there’s one other theme we made it for but I can’t remember what it was). Anywho, My first born is naturally anxious and it helped make her experience so beautiful and so memorable- not only for her but also for me. When my second daughter, turned 5 I knew I would never be willing to take her anywhere else! I booked both of my girls for their curly cut with Jenna and honestly was blown yet again by her talent! My daughters both loved her personality, her hair, and her aura! They both had such a great time and haven’t stopped talking about her since!!! She brought my girls curls back to life and will be our go to, forever ❤️ separate from how amazing Jenna is, city curls is also phenomenal, they donated their proceeds from this past week’s kids day to, sunrise day camp- which services children and their siblings particularly impacted by cancer, which is something that hits really close to home for me and my family since my cousin had cancer at a very young age. Honestly if you’re thinking about coming here, don’t think about it twice. It’s absolutely worth it!!! thank you city curls!!! Thank you jenna Y’all are amazing ! mariam Great service. My hair stylist Melissa was very attentive and helpful it was my second time seeing her and the entire staff is very sweet and welcoming and make sure you feel your best. Miranda the person who washed my hair is also an absolute sweetheart she’s so gentle and absolutely great at styling curly hair she made sure my hair comes out incredible and accommodated my needs with volume and no harsh middle part perfectly. Only small downside is that it’s a bit over priced but still very worth it the staff is very knowledgeable and sweet and work great with all sorts of different hair types. My sister and mom went there as well and they both have completely different curly hair. They know how to work with any hair no matter how coarse, long, frizzy or damaged. They also teach you key points on how to take care of your hair and they gave me paper clips as a gift!

Jessie Lynn I came here not long ago, first of MANY visits and EVERY single time I’m more than pleased. The staff is indescribable. You go anywhere else on this island and no staff will or could ever compare to the girls at blown. No cattiness like most salons, you walk in and feel welcomed instantly. Such a warm environment. As far as prices go, if you’re looking for a place to go that won’t break your pocket, this is the place to go. Prices are sky high now a days especially at hair salons and I can’t believe how reasonable every service is at blown. I’ve been to every stylist since coming here. Brianna, melissa, Brittany, Jess and ash are all so enjoyable to be around. The manager is always so kind and greets me and always offers me coffee. Whenever I sit in any of their chairs I almost feel like I’m over a friends house because that’s how comfortable cozy and fun it is there. All in all a GREAT spot to have any kind of hair or makeup service, not to mention they’re even open on Mondays! So great 10/10 highly recommend.

carly cogan I got a haircut here and loved the cut. I referred my mom and all I can say is WOW. She went for a haircut and booked with someone and ended up not even getting the person she booked with. The person who cut her hair didn’t even make it look like she got a haircut. She had to go back again for another cut. She went back for color (don’t even know why should would after all of that) and gave them the benefit of the doubt, paid for a whole head of highlights to come back with an orange head of highlights. My mom has been a blonde her whole life and said she uses the heater anytime she gets highlights and the hairdresser and owner both wouldn’t listen. In result, she came home with orange hair. She went back a week later to get it fixed and it still doesn’t even look like she got her hair done. Absolutely ridiculous. You think you pay all this money to get ur hair done and you walk out with something you didn’t even want because no one was listening to what she wanted. I’ve been doing my hair the past 7 years on and off and never seen such a shit show. The hairdressers are good for haircuts would NOT recommend this place if you just want basic highlights. They couldn’t even dye the grey’s my mom had I had to show them where they needed to put color. It looks like she has a single process on top and somewhat of highlights on the bottom. What a shit show is all I can say. This is why you need to stick to manhattan salons and high end places with colorist’s who know what they’re doing. Very upsetting experience. And what a waste of money is all I can say.

Arianne Castillo I called for a last minute appointment and they were able to squeeze me in before closing! I asked for a layered haircut (blow and dry). Melissa did a great job and she was very gentle with my hair! Super friendly and kind. Gave me exactly what I asked for. Would def come back again!

Sara T I never usually write a bad review but feel like this needs to be warned because I’m still in pain. The overall place seemed calm & friendly, I’m not complaining on anything further. I had Melissa do my hair, just a root touch up. Which parting my hair to dye it she was extremely rough and stabbing my head while parting and roughly applying dye. I didn’t say anything because I gave benefit that some part are unknowingly heavy handed. Then going to wash my hair, puts on extremely hot water that irritated my head, after I asked to change the water, she did and proceeded to pull my hair vigorously to put conditioner in it. When your hair is clean it hurts more when pulling & parting. The third step was blow drying, I’ve never had my hair tugged on so bad with so many processes it’s 3 days later and my head is sore. To keep my brow dried curls in place she left the round brush in my hair (which is fine) but pushed down into my scalp as if it’ll keep the curls any better… she could’ve just left the brush or held it in her hand, not into my scalp. I tried so hard not to complain, now I wish I have because I can not style my hair or wash it because it’s burning still… I have my boyfriend looking into my scalp for scrapes that were found. She was a sweetheart don’t get me wrong, but this place needs to watch how their employees do hair in general or if they are stressed…. Or the owner should be a fake customer just to test their handling. I’m sorry to complain so much but this was not okay at all….. to add on that my hair fell flat by the time I left, hairspray didn’t hold it made my hair look like it had knots and greasy. I paid $7 for a frizz spray that did absolutely nothing. I even left her a tip because I felt bad.. I won’t be returning, I don’t want an issue. My scalp is still red 3 days after.

Marguerite Santangelo I had a blow out and flat iron for long curly hair and they did a great job for an affordable price. It took almost 2 hours, though, because they did a thorough washing of my hair and a full scalp treatment. I am very happy with the result and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a blow out and hair straightening. I am so happy to have a go-to hair salon in Staten Island!

Mahogany Roberts I’ve been to this place over 8 times. Put the blame on me. The last time I went was about a week okay for a deep condition and flat iron. I just washed my hair after 4 days of leaving it straight and my hair has fallen out. Every time I’ve been here my hair falls out. But this time it’s wayyy more than usual. Bring your own products if your an African American woman or any one who loves there natural curly hair.

Erin Lenart I came here about 2 years ago for bridesmaid hair and make up and I loved loved loved everything about the experience. I started following the salon on Instagram after and saw that they someone doing eyelash extensions so I decided to go and I’m so glad I did. Not only is Stephanie amazing at what she does (I’ve gotten so many compliments) but she was so sweet I felt like I was just hanging out with a friend which made the time fly by. I will definitely be going back for fills, the drive in from New Jersey is well worth it

Nicolina Rosato I used House of Trends for my wedding party services! They were incredible to work with and so accommodating. My makeup was done by Jay and oh my god it lasted all day and night for my bridal shower and wedding day. I loved it!! Jay is a sweetheart and so good at what she does. Kennedy did my hair for my wedding day with an elegant updo. My hair didn’t move all day despite the rain and windy start to the day. I absolutely recommend using them for any services.

Virginia Boga Courtney is amazing!!! She is excellent with color!!! She is personable and just overall very nice. I tend to really like short hair....and even though she loves cutting long hair she still does an amazing job on knowing what I like :-) The place overall is very nice. I also did facials there....which are amazing!!!

Sue P The worst..I got my first haircut with Jess the owner..I waited over a half hour and she finally cut my hair. My haircut took about 3 minutes and was totally chopped. It was uneven and when I went another salon they had to take another 3 inches just to shape my hair. Stay away from this place..they have no respect for new customers and they have no talent whatsoever when it comes to cutting hair!!

THC Do not recommend for highlights or color. Destroyed my hair. Multi color shades of bronze, copper, orange, yellow, gold, etc.. I asked for beige highlights. Vanessa apparently does not have 20 yrs of color experience as she claims …the mess she did to my hair proves it. I drove from Jersey to pay $185 for hair that’s dry, damaged and an ugly color. Now I have to spend another $200 to get it corrected. Thanks girls!

Joe River Unprofessional, obnoxious and loud employees who have no tact when speaking and utilize offensive language in front of customers. Last time I visited, they were throwing shade towards a customer by talking about AIDS and cancer. Theres a time and place for everything and having full conversations about chronic conditions to try and insult someone is not appropriate for a place of business. The haircuts here are decent but sitting in this place to wait for a haircut is uncomfortable. These barbers need to work on a different approach. Businesses shutting down currently is quite common. I dont understand business nowadays and how many businesses (especially in Staten Island) seem to not value customers. I need to find a professional barbershop in NYC asap!!

Ravindra Chand Best barber shop on the island. I get my haircut from junior and I go to him once a a week. These guys are very affordable, friendly, give great shape ups, fades, and overall haircuts. I had to search a long time before I found guys that would Give me a great cut and it wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. I highly recommend this barber shop.

Hailey Williams I always love how my hair comes out here! I have been going here for years and always have Teresa do my hair. Shes great and nails my blonde highlights every time. One of the only places where you can get blonde highlights without it looking streaky. Overall great staff and beautiful results!

Ana D Nice place 4 stars bc my hair colorist sat on her phone while I was waiting to have my color washed out by the assistant who was doing someone else’s hair. So sat there for about 7 mins waiting for her to finish. I think the hair colorist should have washed me instead of sitting on her phone.

Eraj Khan Zubia does really nice eyebrows, I highly recommend her. The hair, especially for little boys, I do not recommend. One of the workers there messed up my nephews hair. She cut it so bad and the day of a wedding too. My sister was so upset. Not only did she mess it up. The lady at the counter knew the stylist messed up, and she had the audacity to say he looked very good. We didnt want to create a scene or anything, so we just left.

Olivia G If I could leave a 0 star I would. Set an appointment and when I walked in there wasn’t a hello, an acknowledgment of any kind. Had some of the stylist walk past us and even walk customers out and still was ignored. Felt very discriminatory in there and super unprofessional. Didn’t even have someone at the front desk to attend to their guests. Would never recommend this place or go again. Crap salon !

Jean Soong First time getting a haircut here and wow! My hair stylist, Winson did an amazing job. My hair isnt easy to cut and style. I have a reverse bob where it is shorter in the back and long in the front. He took out the heaviness in my hair and now it is so easy to style, very symmetrical and just beautiful. For only $32.00, this haircut looks like I got it from a very expensive salon. He is very highly skilled and experienced. Not your high end salon, so dont expect to be super pampered, but if you are looking for a really great haircut, must go here!

barbara s First time here and very satisfied. The shampoo was great and the best thing is you lay flat for this so you are not straining your neck. You also get a relaxing massage while shampooing your hair. The hair stylist was Wilson and he was very attentive making sure that I was getting the cut that I wanted. He gave an excellent cut and blow dry & was very diligent on making sure that it was perfect. The price was extremely reasonable I highly recommend this place.

All There Boutique I traveled 45 minutes from Colts Neck, Tara is absolutely worth the trip! She is great to work with with - she made the process so easy, shes very responsive to messages and super knowledgable - she recommended the color and length for extensions, and they are perfect. Im a business owner, and work long hours - she worked with my schedule, helped me pick out my ideal color, and had everything ready for the appointment. slava greenberg` Worst hair salon experience. If I could give 0 stars I would. #1 I was mislead about the price over the phone AND via messages. I asked for a medium brown hair color and walked out with black hair. It was clear the lady who was doing my hair, Stephanie, was in a rush to get home and juggling between clients. She was not keeping track of how long the dye had been on my head. She had not set a timer or anything. My hair ended up being jet black. Horrible customer service and an inattentive hair stylist. Would not recommend this overpriced, overrated salon. Don’t waste your time or money. Ended up spending DOUBLE for the color correction I had to endure after this, because I refuse to walk back into this salon so they can further ruin my hair. Normally don’t even post reviews but just want to warn everyone in advance.

Lisa Costa First impressions are everything! Walking in to such a beautiful atmosphere, where not only was the salon spotless, but the staff was also nothing but friendly and welcoming! The Front desk employees were extremely nice, every stylist that passed me said hello or Good morning & then I got to gabs chair. She is not only outgoing, so down to earth , and an all around wonderful stylist, but also so thorough and explained every thing she did ! I am extremely self conscious of my hair being thin, she made me feel so comfortable. With her recommendation of extensions & color matching, my hair has never looked better! I am beyond happy with my services- extensions, glaze, & blowout - & will never trust anyone else with my hair again! I visit often for blowouts. Gab now has me as a lifelong client & I couldn’t recommend her & French twist more !

Lalita Reyes I absolutely love Ashley Taylor’s salon ! I go to Nikki for blond color and extension placement she’s the only person I’ll ever let touch my hair. After going elsewhere before I barely had any hair left it was so broken. She transformed my hair and I couldn’t be happier There isn’t a place I go where people don’t ask me whole my hairdresser is and anyone I’ve sent there has been so satisfied with her work .

Stephanie A I am a repeat customer and love my hair each time I go. During my latest visit to the salon Laura gave me a haircut and balayage and was able to do a perfect job just by talking with me and finding pictures to help me choose the color I wanted and once I chose it she was able to copy it. She was also very friendly and ensured I was comfortable and ok with everything. I highly recommend this salon.

Jeanine Lattarulo I took my 77 year old Godmother to Ashley Taylor today for haircuts. Josephine was our stylist and Briana was the receptionist. Josephine has found 2 new customers as we were very pleased with the outcomes. Not only is she a very experienced stylist, she also has great customer service skills and we would highly recommend her!! I must also commend the entire staff at this salon. Upon leaving, my Godmother’s car stalled and would not start. The staff and customers came out to try to help jumpstart the car!! I will never forget their kindness. So, not only does this salon give great haircuts, blowouts, dye jobs, etc., they care about their customers. THANK YIU SO MUCH TO ALL OF THEM!!

Kamarise Del Valle My sister and I walked into this Salon, asked them if they did Afro textured hair like ours and they were stumped. As we were walking out after being completely turned down, the entire staff laughed at and mocked us for having the audacity to come to their salon to have our hair done. It was a humiliating experience. I do not recommend this place at all. The employees are incredibly unprofessional.

Andrea White I went there with a head full of hair now my hair is falling out dont do any hair styles always straight..take my own products and they dont use enough looking for another beauty shop will braid my hair and wear a wig. What happened to the beauty stores of old they made ur hair grow not come out

V.Cookie Fuentes I like this place. The older lady who did my hair did a good job but she barely put any protectant on my hair, which is a BIG no no for me. I was an early walk in and I was in and out. My curls were nice and shiney for my daughters wedding.

joanna Ileen Salon is neat and clean. Francia did my hair, shes been doing my hair for many years . She is great! 20 bucks for wash and set. I was in and out with an hour. I will definitely go hear again.
