Vindhya Bapatla So happy with my haircut by Kailey Flower today! From start to finish, she was incredibly sweet and attentive, making sure to understand exactly what I wanted. Finally, after much searching, Ive found the perfect hairstylist in Ithaca. Highly recommend her at this Salon to anyone in need of a fantastic cut and a wonderful experience!

Brynna Baldauf Only experienced one stylist, and I would not recommend them. They used to have good events that they invite the community to but after the way my stylist treated me I would avoid it.

Tally Johnson I have always been a salon hopper, never finding a stylist that I truly loved. That changed when I met Kayla at HCA! She took my vague ideas and “do what you want, I trust you” attitude and has me leaving with hair I love, every time. So glad I found her!

Drea This salon is completely unique and I can spend my entire appointment scanning the room for for creative artistic flares like the painted ceilings to what I assume to be local art on the walls. Kailey is phenomenal. I’ve been to her for 2 Brazilian Blow outs as well as a fix it job after I cheaply tried to do my own hair and failed. I cannot speak highly enough of my experiences with her. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kimberle Sawyer I personally go to kailey- which she is literally hands down the best! You can go in there with your hair looking a mess and once you deliver a few ideas next thing you know you leave the Solon feeling absolutely stunning! Plus conversations never get boring! Shes only done my hair twice but shes amazing at what she does! If I could put 100 stars I most certainly would!

Marinda OBryant I took a chance based upon reviews...and Hanunah did not disappoint! She is kind and welcoming. She took care of my hair beautifully and I walked out of there with a smile! The spot in Ithaca for black, natural hair! Thank you!!! I can’t recommend her enough!

Avery Mae There is no denying that they do good hair here which is why I came back twice. However, I would regularly hear them gossip about people and clients as soon as they exited the shop. Im sure they talk about me the minute I walk out the door. Usually, when I get my hair done it last for 8-12 weeks, however the last time it barely lasted a month so I decided between that and the gossip there is really no need to come back.

Heather Tielens Hanunah always gives the best care and maintenance of my son’s locs. Lucky to have such a skilled professional here in Ithaca!

SingTrece “SingTrece” Great place for people of color. Its hard to find certain products and hair ethic hair stylists. She does it all and I found that she can help you either find products or get it for you. Worth stopping and checking out. She has been in Ithaca for a long time and has a good report in her community.

Sage Niver Store is full of affordable, pre-streched hair coming ANY AND EVERY color. She also has marley hair, hair for twist, butterfly locs, crochet. You name it she got it! Also THE BEST glazee I have ever used for braiding and my edges. Overall her store is amazing, she is amazing and her beauty supplies are so much more cheaper than that of other stores in Ithaca ($3.99 for a double pack of pre-stretched hair!!!!!) Also she has various eyelashes that are LONGGG for anyone into those!

Melissa Perri This girl right here!! It’s so hard to find a hair stylist who is a girls girl!! She has given me the best advice with my hair concerns. I just recently started going to her after having the WORST hair experience ever at another salon. She’s helping me get my hair back to where I want it without any drastic changes. She’s the sweetest girl ever and loves to see her clients happy. So happy I started going to her. Pricing is beyond reasonable here. 10/10.

Christine TeAta is absolutely amazing! She colors my hair and also cuts my husband’s and daughter’s hair. She is really a one stop shop! She listens to what we want, but also provides her professional opinion. My daughter adores her, and her prices can’t be beat.

Sarah Milicic TeAta has made me feel like a million bucks more than once! She styled my hair for a friends wedding and it ended up being so much better than I thought. It was a style I was very nervous to do as I dont wear my hair in a pony tail often but she nailed it! I was so happy with how it turned out. Recently I went to her for a trim. I havent had my hair done in over 2 years as I was trying to keep it long but my ends were looking very unhealthy. She trimmed an inch off my hair, framed my face and gave me advice on how to keep up with my hair growth. I HIGHLY recommend her. She is very talented, hardworking, patient and a joy to work with. So excited to see that her dreams are taking off! :)

Emily Noonan Doyle TeAta was a FIND for my family. My teenage girls have very thick textured hair and it has been a major challenge to find someone who they feel comfortable with who also is talented at hearing what they want making a plan with them and executing that plan. TeAta is patient and kind, talented with her scissors and knows just how to relate to my teenage girls. Thanks so much!!

Cass Fox Highly recommend. TeAta not only takes the time to make my hair look fantastic but since Ive been seeing her my hair has become so much thicker and healthier. Its hard to find someone who truly knows what theyre doing but she is the only person I trust to touch my hair. I look forward to my appointments with her. Shes done everything from braids, perms, highlights, styling, to every color you could imagine (even rainbow once) and it has always looked fabulous.

Hannah McUmber I don’t ever leave reviews but this is one I just have to!! All I can say is WOW! This was the best salon experience I’ve ever had. I felt so comfortable and welcomed. She did not make me feel bad for my lack of hair care or inexperience. She gave me so much helpful advice to benefit only me. she wasn’t just there for a paycheck. I had an absolutely amazing time and experience and can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much for everything!! My extensions are PERFECT.

Melanie Cole I booked an appointment online and received a confirmation text message. My appointment was on time, and lasted as scheduled, with both a customer before and after me. Crystal is professional and I left with a new haircut, of which I only provided a "vision" - that she was able to bring to fruition. Highly recommend! Note: cash discount over credit card.

M Mekenna Crystal has been my hair dresser for over 10 years, my hair is not easy to manage and I am not patient with it. She always does a creative job and makes my life easier. Plus were good friends now, I enjoy my Crystal therapy time.

Brittany Acker Let me start out by saying, I am very happy with my experience at Crystals Spa and Salon. I get very nervous and anxious when it comes to my hair and salons because my hair is the worst type-dry, frizzy, coiled, damaged and on top on that, its thin and breaks easily. I never had good experiences with salons before but I can safely say this was the best experience yet! I had a keratin treatment done and my hair is so straight and so silky, two things it has never been before. I would definitely go back.

Ivory Theodore (Theo) I asked Bradley to use his expertise to make me the least ugly version of myself. He gave me an updated version of the style I love, and he sculpted and completely transformed my facial hair. He is amazing, and Ill definitely be returning. The vibe of the shop is fun, relaxed, and friendly. I have found my new barbershop.

Noah Mishkin Always leave here feeling fresh. Tons of appointments available, great price, and just a good vibe. Planning on coming back.

Ben Kriegel As the pandemic began to settle down, I realized that I desperately needed a haircut (a good one too). I was visiting Ithaca in the beginning of June, searched for the best barbershops in town, and thankfully found Fine Line. Salko gave me a great cut and I’d highly recommend!

David Chapman I’m just gonna give them a 5 stars because I can tell they do good work but A message to the crew that works there “Do better & put in the work when you’re at work!” “You turned away a 20 minute 50 dollar hair cut to play on your phones. With that said I definitely could see the team has talent!

Emmie Great experience here with Tanner. I needed a change with my hair cut as it always had been the same and cut the same by a family member for years. He knew exactly what to do even when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do and it came out great!

Johan Dulfer Scheduling is super easy and they are absolutely welcoming, but my sons haircut was atrocious unfortunately. Didnt realize it until we got him to school and he started getting comments on how strange he looked. Poor kid. I wont be going back.

eggshton I asked for a shag/wolf cut and I showed various photos from multiple different angles. I sadly did not get what I asked for (now the haircut itself was not bad just very bland and looked the same as before). My layers are way too long (even if styled they wouldn’t look like what I wanted due to them being so long). I was told my hair was too thick for short layers (I’m not quite sure if that makes sense because usually layers work on thick hair). I am disappointed and now need to find somewhere else to give me what I would like. I did enjoy the stylists personality but wished I got the correct haircut.

Britt Snider I brought my daughters here for a last minute hair trim. The beauticians were very nice to talk to and knew how to deal with a toddler in for her first hair cut. Definitely will be going again.

Maria Devan I just moved to the neighborhood and have heard lots of folks recommend the shop. It’s easy to get to, they take walk ins. I saw Josh and was happy enough to say I’ll be back. I did go back but this time e I saw Pam and I changed my rating to a 5. She did a super job on my eyebrows and gave me a perfect cut. Ill keep going there as long as they are open for business.

Robin Gavin Josh is just the best! I had been going to the same stylist for too many years to count. I dont know if this person is getting old or if it is me but I would ask for a trim and all of a sudden I looked like a bowling pin with such short hair! Josh has been able in one visit to correct my style and bring me up to date. Best haircut I have ever had and my husband now uses Josh as well. Whew!

Hez Miller I made an appointment over two weeks out for Hannah, which was confirmed via multiple texts and emails. After waiting in the salon for over half an hour after my scheduled appointment time, I spoke with a nail tech who informed me Hannah was on maternity leave. I completely understand taking time off, but part of your job responsibilities when doing so is to clear your calendar and let your scheduled clients know.

Julianne Ocasio I highly recommend Josh at Hair it is for his color knowledge, friendliness, and confidence to tell you what will work with your hair and current style trends, and what won’t. We’ve made color changes seasonally, and he’s taken the time to look at photos of my previous hairstyles. My 12 year old daughter enjoys his company and her cuts. I enjoy the setting and location. It’s easy to get to and park. The shop is in a small house w a total of 4 stylist chairs. It feels comfortable, not competitive. My experiences with Josh feel like visiting a family member who is great with cuts and color, so you don’t go anywhere else.

Matthew Grandin Friendly staff, a small selection of premium outdoor goods with a vintage look barber shop in back. Great spot for gifts, jewelry, denim, etc. They carry Filson & Red Wing.

Gayle Landry The website was intuitive and inviting. My partner has scheduled his next 2 haircuts with them. We will follow up post cut! My partner got back from the barbershop with a fresh new cut. He loved the atmosphere, the cleanliness and professionalism of everyone there. The man who cut his hair listened to what he wanted and gave him something better than expected!

Jessica Cornejo Great service and atmosphere! The location is conveniently near the Ithaca Commons Seneca Station Bus Stop. Its a lovely retro barber shop, though is also welcoming to female clients. Their websites team page helped out in selecting a provider that aligned with the style I was looking for. My cut came out exactly how I wanted based off of the reference photos I showed, so my highest recommendations.

Shes always telling me to go here for a haircut. Im really bad at getting haircuts when I need to. But I think it was $25 for her haircut which is very reasonable especially for a womans haircut.

Lauren Ryan Hamacher Rose of Transcend Salon is absolutely incredible, and I would highly recommend her to anyone in the Ithaca area! I came in looking to get my hair color fixed from another local hairstylist (not associated with Transcend Salon) as my highlights were far too bright, and showing up different colors in different areas of my hair. Rose took the time to truly understand what I wanted with my color, and really thought through the best solution before working. Seeing my new hair color at the end of my appointment, I knew I would become a client of hers permanently! She did an excellent job, it was exactly what I wanted. She also gave me a cute little bang trim! Aside from her hair skills, Rose is a delightful person and you will love chatting with her as you get your hair done!

S P I got a wonderful cut and a perfect blowdry. I had a really bad haircut and hadnt been able to find a hairdresser who was able to listen to what I wanted (I usually live in Europe). Debbie listened, knew immediately what I wanted, and 45 minutes later I walked away with a great haircut and blowdry. Will return every time I am in Ithaca!

Melissa Rooklidge Loved my experience at this salon! Debbie is very thorough and did a fabulous job on my color (highlights with 2 different colors) and blended them perfectly so it looks great now and will continue to look great as it grows out. Mohammad Mousavi Nick did an excellent job, but since he left, I tried someone else there. I showed him some photos, but the haircut I got looked nothing like them. There’s no fade on the sides, even though I specifically asked for one. The back of my head looks so odd that all my friends have been asking what happened. There’s no transition between the skin and the top of my head—it’s just skin, and then suddenly long hair!

Mario Fleury In addition to the excellent service and welcoming atmosphere, the quality of the cut is brilliant and at a good price. At all times there is concern about whether you are happy with your cut, which makes the haircut process more human and meets your expectations. The icing on the cake is the engaging playlist (which ranges from rock classics to folk legends). Brilliant!

Luke Early The people there are nice enough, but I have to echo some of the other comments here and say that 1. The haircut I got was NOTHING like the haircut I showed them a picture of 2. When you specifically use the word "fade", you expect a fade, not a completely bald head with a tuft of hair on top. Not sure I would recommend for mens short haircuts...

Chris Chung Appointments are easy to make. Wonderful, experienced people. A little pricey, maybe, but it’s the first time I’ve walked away from a hair stylist very happy.

Friede Visited Bob for the first time for a cut yesterday. My hair turned out just what I wanted. I had some pictures with and a lot of questions about what would look best with my head shape, my self cut bang mishap, and my plans to grow out my hair long again. We talked for about 20 minutes before cutting and he gave honest feedback which was wanted and appreciated! I had a great time especially with the two little pups who greeted me. Thank you Bob I will definitely be back!

Meurcie Zignoli Bob did a great job giving my hair a refresh! I came in having never gone to Salon Salon before and did my best to explain what issues I was having with my current style. Bob took the time to understand what it was that I was looking for, recapped a clear plan, and then explained what he was doing each step of the way. He was kind and professional, and did not rush my appointment even when we approached an hour of me being in the chair. My only points of feedback would be that the shampoo could have been more thorough, and he could have used less product on my blowout- my scalp was a bit sticky with product residue when I was finished. Overall it was a fantastic experience and Ill just be sure to request less product next time I get a blowout. Thanks for a great cut, Bob!

Rachel While I have had positive experiences working with Bob before, todays experience was very unpleasant and I would no longer recommend this place. In our conversation, Bob was rude and talked over me several times. He seemed to assume that I came from a certain background despite knowing almost nothing about my background. Haircuts should be a relaxing experience, not a stressful debate over property taxes when I dont even own a house.

Matt Marx I really enjoyed my first two haircuts here, but I dont think Ill be back. Last time I went there I was in a hurry so I showed up before 9:00 to make sure Id be first in line, but by 9:15 it was still locked so I left. And this morning, I waited for 20 or 30 minutes only for someone who clearly knew the owner to show up and they let her kid in front of me.

Kelly Dowd I’ve been bringing my 2.5 year old son here and now my husband has been going here, too. Every barber does a great job. Tony cut my son’s hair today and was so patient and kind with him. Aimee Dars Ellis I’ve been to Satori for haircuts and pedicures and have always been happy with the quality and service. The atmosphere is very chic. It almost doesn’t feel like Ithaca! The prices for the salon side are competing but the pedicure seemed a little on the expensive side. Of course, it was also very luxurious. A ton of products are available for sale but I’ve never felt pressured. I tried a lot of salons in Ithaca before going to Satori—it’s the only one that has a great combination of quality, staff, and ambiance.

Terri A. McGinn I fully enjoy every appointment I have at Satori. I see Lynette, the owner for my cuts, color and touch ups. The front desk ladies are always so welcoming and professional. When you go in for your appointment, you’re offered a refreshing beverage and I can only say that from what I’ve observed, that every stylist is prompt and friendly as well! The atmosphere is comfortable, and relaxed. The attention clients are treated to is worth every dollar!

Kai McLaughlin Ivy was fantastic! Im really happy with the cut she gave me. She is nice, east to talk to, and listened carefully to what I asked for and gave me exactly what I wanted. This was my first time at this salon and Im so pleased, Ill definitely be returning.

kamala ceu Breanna is an amazingly talented stylist! I have pretty difficult hair that is dry, has gray, and is naturally out of control and frizzy. I was so impressed with her ability to listen to what I wanted, assess the condition of my hair, and then create the most outstanding color and style I have ever had. I highly recommend her and this salon. They are very professional, friendly, and know what they are doing.

Sophia King I had my second haircut and styling with Hair Stylist Brianna, yesterday, at the Ivy Beauty Lounge. I am so happy I opened the door to the Ivy! From the 1st smile of the receptionist, and the owner and friend Amber, stylist Athena, who introduced me to Brianna, I knew I was going to have a wonderful experience. And that I did !

Amy Gaines This team of women are truly the absolute best in Ithaca. The entire team are knowledgeable, kind and professional. The salon is chic and welcoming and the service is always 10/10. I’ve received cuts, color, and multiple types of extensions over the years (note a service not all salons have the experience to preform) and have never left disappointed. 5 stars every single time.

Mia Pittiglio five stars all day long!! I have really only ever had one person cut/style my hair, but since I moved out of state I knew Id have to find someone new. I was super nervous going into my appointment but Breanna was so kind and welcoming that I knew right away I was in good hands. she spent so much time explaining products and techniques to help me love my hair at home. James Thompson ive never had a good haircut, genuinely, but that Bulgarian mofo did me RIGHT. went in like a month or two ago to get a haircut, and im never good at explaining what i want, so i kind of just kind of agreed to everything he was going to do and oh my god he pulled it off. Ive never had a hair style like this i didnt even KNOW i could rock a style like this before going there. the cut looked great right after dont get me wrong, but with all haircuts they get better with time and oh my god i couldnt be happier, this may be the most confident Ive been in a long while. the picture is this morning, i didnt even need to style it, this was like right out of bed. magic. if you want a haircut, you are going here no questions, no ifs, no butts. i will travel the country to come here i dont care, this is my spot.

Erin Brackett I brought a student of mine here for a haircut. The owner was so kind to him and willing to accommodate some sensory issues that he has with the clippers. He did a great job with his very thick, straight hair. My student said it was the best haircut he ever had. 10/10

B S Always grateful for the guys at Pesco’s! I’ve been bringing my son here for his haircuts since he was 18 months old. Now, at almost 4 years old, we’re happy to see familiar faces and they do a great job - even with a wiggly toddler. Always patient and friendly, the barbers at Pesco’s have ensured a positive experience for what can be scary to a small child. Definitely recommend to anybody looking for a clean shop in Ithaca. Danu asked about my hair goals, made suggestions, and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy with the end result. To say I am elated is an understatement. I am so happy with my cut, it is exactly what I needed after an exhausting week. I feel refreshed and beautiful! I got to speak with the owner Julie Stone and was very impressed with both her and Danus customer service. I asked about products and Danu made excellent recommendations while keeping my budget in mind. I will definitely be returning. Thank you again for the excellent service! I will say that this salon charges a bit more than I am used to spending on my hair services (I had been going to supercuts, eek). However, the value of the service is well worth the price. I encourage you to not be dismayed by their pricing as they offer exceptional service.

Chandra Henry When I arrived, my roots were brown and the rest of my hair was a golden yellow color. I told them that I needed platinum blonde because afterwards I was going to dye my hair bright blue and I didnt want the base color interfering with the dye. The service took about 5 hours and they seemed very overwhelmed because I have long curly hair and they didnt have enough staff to cover their appointments. (The RECEPTIONIST was styling my hair for half of the duration because they overbooked). When placing the bleach, i warned that my head was burning and she continued to apply product ensuring it was a normal sensation. The process took another half hour (at least) with my head feeling like it was on fire. Later I discovered several scabs on my head and I am concerned of a worsening chemical burn. They were very sweet people. But when they finished, my hair was still yellow with a little bit of blonde at the roots, but I was assured it was light enough for the color that I was choosing to dye. After dying my hair, my hair is not blue, it is majority green, because they left a lot of yellow in my hair. I paid $250 for this service and now my hair is green! Which is what I told them I wanted to avoid in the first place. I would have just bleached myself if I wanted mediocre results. I wanted was a clean slate to dye on and they were unable take the tones out of my hair. Overpriced services for an understaffed and seemingly unprepared salon. The blue is the color i used in my hair, the green is what my hair turned out as. Also, she asked to cut off an inch and I am missing like 6 inches of hair!! Wildly disappointed

They both listen well and understand how to handle my "two-zone" hair. Ive most recently been working with Danu and find her to be attentive and talented, a great combo! Highly recommend this salon.

Richard Ballantyne Mitsy has been doing such a great job on my hair for the past 10 years! She is really calm, and her hands are gentle and coordinated. It is very relaxing to get my hair cut from her. Also, she doesnt talk incessantly to her clients like so many other hairdressers do.

Dorothy Lovelace I used blue and purple box dye on my hair at home and it came out darker than I wanted. I’m pretty easy going about my hair, but I thought I’d treat myself and it get it redone at the salon since I’ve been feeling depressed lately. Got a same day appointment which was great. I said several times I liked the royal blue color but I wanted it brighter. I asked for ombré with blue roots, purple between and red ends. The stylist put color remover on and got all of the blue dye out of my strawberry blonde hair. After processing my roots were even darker & duller, now a gray turquoise color; most of my hair was a very dark purple color. That’s a blessing because the blue is such an ugly color I’m happy there is little of it showing. I said right away I didn’t like it and it wasn’t what I asked for. When I commented it was not brighter the stylist told me it might brighten up as it faded. That’s preposterous. She then asked for full payment while apologizing about my hair. She offered to let me come back and put more blue hair dye over the roots for free, I commented that wouldn’t make it brighter. I said I was happier with the way it looked before I came in. At no point did she offer to fix it by using color remover or a lightening product or offer any other suggestions to help me get the outcome I asked for. I declined to have a picture taken of the results which she asked to do. When I called back and said I’d come back to just have it covered up with a solid color since I’m so unhappy with it she told me she she is booked and couldn’t get me in until 5 days later. When I got the receipt from the transaction yesterday at 3:30pm it asked for feedback and I relayed all this information; including that had the box dye not come out I would understand and live with what I got. It is 11am the next day and I’m going to assume they don’t read the feedback daily because otherwise they are just not responding to a client who had a bad experience and shared that with them. This was obviously an error on the colorists part. The response has been utterly inadequate though. I did not get what I asked for, they did not offer to fix it they offered to cover it up, and couldn’t make time for me until nearly a week later. I left feeling like they didn’t care about the outcome or my experience. I’m so unhappy I cancelled the ‘free’ follow up appointment and will probably just put some box dye over it until it grows out. When I called to cancel the appointment I said I was unhappy with the response I got and the person who answered the phone said ‘ok’

For some reason, this time she did not feel like doing my daughters hair even though she was scheduled by DeeDee herself. When my daughter arrived, DeeDee told her that her hair was "a disaster", that it needed a huge trim, that it looked "really bad". All this said to a 13-year old. My daughter felt "humiliated" in front of the other customers and stylists. I then got a call from DeeDee telling me that her hair was bad because of split ends, etc. I told DeeDee that thats the reason she was there. But she made it very clear that she was not in the mood to do my daughters hair that day. My daughter left the salon without any service. DeeDee handled the whole thing in a very unprofessional way. She was rude and was too prideful to apologize about her misconduct towards my daughter. When I tried to explain to her the way she made my daughter feel, she was very defensive and walked away, very unprofessional. A simple sorry was all that was needed

Zee D Paid $27 for a regular men’s haircut, the absolute worst haircut I’ve ever had. It was so bad I had to go in the next day to get it fixed; still not good. Nice people working here though. Let’s blame it on Covid!
