The stylists have always been warm, welcoming, attentive, and abreast of all the newest hair trends and techniques. My children now sit in their chairs and they are engaging and patient with them and they NEVER disappoint. If you want great treatment for your hair and as a person then this salon is your next stop. The ladies here are the standard for best service and best practice. They’re awesome!

Saige Berry salon dae has been doing my hair since i was 7 years old and they have taken such good care of me! recently i have been getting sow ins with danielle and it’s has been the absolute best experience ever! my hair went through so much heat damage from me straightening it almost everyday in middle school, so we did a bunch of protective styles and treatments and now my hair is almost good as new! i could not image getting my hair done by anyone other than danielle!

Brittany Farrell We love Live Free & Dye Salon. The salon has a clean, modern, and inviting atmosphere. Brittany is a wizard with full highlights and blonding services, and that’s coming from someone with dark brown hair who is now an ashy blonde. My son has also had his hair cut there and she is so patient and accommodating. When I first came in as a new mom I was able to bring my baby and had a space to breast feed him during processing! Above & beyond customer service.

coffee n. Frances did a great job with my highlights, I think they turned out great! :) The price was reasonable, $210 total with a 20% tip, $150 for the highlights and $20 for the haircut. The first 2 pics are immediately after, and the last 2 are 3 weeks later. I definitely recommend buying their Color Revive product because the color does fade. Overall Im satisfied and I would go there again :)

Kristy Lopez Frances is the best hair dresser I have ever had. She does amazing work and we love her. Me and my family have been going to her since 2013 when she was at her Bronx location. I drive over an hour just for her to do my hair and j wouldnt have it any other way. Would totally recommend to anyone, especially for people with naturally curly hair.

Kat I cannot say enough good things about these ladies. My first time going I was treated by my daughter last minute and was totally unprepared. At that time my hair was almost like dreads because I dont wash it often when its in its natural state and thats what keeps it healthy but it definitely curls up and can get like dreads if I dont manage it. Well the lady that washes hair put in that work! I felt so bad because I knew how knotty my hair was but she busted through it. And it was the best scrub ever, God bless her hands. The lady that blow drys just had me stunned. I could not believe the transformation. My hair was long and soft and bone straight and shiny and just beautiful. So I just returned on Valentines Day and it was late, my apologies I didnt look up their hours but I called and they graciously welcomed me to come. It was around 5:45. They close at 7. I was there until 8 so they stayed late to finish my hair. As Ive mentioned before, my hair isnt easy and takes work. They also had other clients they were assisting. Again, my hair came out beautiful. Soft, shiny, bone straight, a complete transformation. They are the sweetest ladies and they really take their time and do a thorough amazing job each time regardless the conditions. I love this place and I am going to consider trying out many of their other services they offer.

Never once have I sat in his chair and left unhappy. From sitting down in the chair, discussing with an expert what we should do with my hair, to the conversation and consideration, getting your hair cut by Alex is an experiment on all levels. He takes in to account your hair length, texture, head shape, recent trends, and frequency of visits and leaves you with a cut and style that both meets the requirements and sets your hair up for growth so your hair doesn’t look bad after a couple weeks. From the moment you enter the curated space, you can tell that Alex and his team have invested time and energy into delivering the highest quality experience. Alex offers product and styling recommendations that have elevated my haircut/style to a whole new level. I’ve been a client for well over 6 years and I wouldn’t trust any other barber with my haircut.

Lilac Bravestrong This was my first time going here. Let me just say ... it was truly an amazing, genuine experience! I had called earlier this morning to see if they were available today (same day). Jennifer Frisenda Kara is simply amazing. I went to her for about two years for my undercut and design. She was always quick and precise with her work. I would show her a picture of what I wanted and boom, she nailed it (Andy Bernard’s voice, please) every time. I highly recommend her. I decided to grow out my hair, so I unfortunately don’t see her anymore. But she was always fun to chat with and her work is amazing.

Chris Hudak I have been going to Kara for about 2 years now and i have always received a great cut. Even moving after moving to Brooklyn, I still continue to come up to have her do my hair. She is consistent, listens to what you want and provides insight on new things to try. Aside from the compliments I normally receive after my cuts, I went to a barber in Brooklyn when I couldnt make it up to Poughkeepsie - it had been about a month since my last cut and the barber asked who normally does my hair. When I told him where I went he said, "You should definitely keep going to her, for your cut to be a month old and the lines are still this good, she knows what shes doing."

Sima Karshenas Stephanie is the BEST!! Every time I go to her I feel so refreshed and polished. I always feel like she knows exactly what to do and I feel listened to. She is so nice and true professional who puts the customer first with her knowledge, skill, and dedication. Truly the best haircuts and colors I’ve ever had. Andrea Castro We got our hair done here for my wedding: 1 bride, 2 older flower girls, and 5 bridesmaids. I had a trial first, where we were able to discuss exactly what I wanted so that the day of would be straight forward and low stress. I absolutely loved my hair (it stayed in all night, even with my decorative comb and lots of dancing) and everyone else was very happy with theirs too. The online appointment system made payment easy. We had drinks and snacks available for us that morning, even homemade gluten-free spiced apple bread, which was really sweet. We were able to get dressed and fully ready at the salon, and were right on schedule for the big day!

steven pesola I’m 52 and I wanted to get the gray out of my hair and was very apprehensive… Having seen some “really bad dye jobs” I didn’t wanna come out of it looking like Wayne Newton. I did my research, checked the reviews and found New York hair and color salon. Ken and his assistant Brittany are amazing! Not only is there work exceptional they’re terrific people and it’s like hanging out with a couple of friends. As far as the hair color goes… I expressed my concern about not wanting my hair to look unnatural for my age. They formulated a color scheme that looks completely appropriate. When you have your own mother tell you how natural it looks I don’t think you can get a much better compliment than that. I’ve been going to them for about seven months now, and I’m absolutely in love! Ken truly lives up to the name on his business card Ken hair extraordinaire!

Kenita Carty Disgusting business practices. I came back from vacation with Covid. My daughters had appointments the next day. I emailed and called as soon as I found out what we had. Shetalia emailed back that she would rather we cancel. I left a message on their phone as well. No one mentioned in email or on phone that I would be charged a cancellation fee for canceling with a 24 hours notice. I saw money deducted from my bank account and then an emailed receipt about cancellation fee. I spoke with receptionist the next day and told her I might as well bring my kids in, I would have been on time for one of the appointments. She didn’t want me to come in, and said she understood my frustration. She said the person who made that decision would call me back, and still no response from them. Terrible customer service. I wanted to use a salon closer to home but I’ll continue driving an hour away for good service. Will never support this business again.

Raashida NVus The young lady does it alll!!!! My hair was very tough and unmanageable. We decided to do a big chop and my Natural hair can be combed through without a fight. By the way, she gives you any style you ask for and make sure your natural hair is being well taken care of. I been going to hee for 3 years and very happy with my outcome every time. Must go too. Jillian Kara This is the best salon in the area! I’ve been going here for years and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve gotten my hair dyed, cut, and prom hair done here and it’s all looked beautiful. Everyone is incredibly friendly and they really make sure you love your hair. They listen to you and they also go above and beyond to have your hair look the best it can. It’s incredibly clean and the salon itself is very large. They have a nice waiting area and they always offer some kind of drink (tea, water, etc). 100% recommend going here.

Everything Ella It was my first time going to this salon last year and my appointment was for a wash and blow out. The salon was very clean. The wash I received by one of the stylists was refreshing and my scalp felt thoroughly cleaned. I wasn’t a fan of having two stylists work on my hair throughout the blow drying process. My salon appointment lasted four hours total. After the blow drying process my hair wasn’t straight enough so Fatima went over it with a flat iron. In the end, I loved the results Fatima gave me and I paid between $80-$85 after tax which was a good price. My hair was silky, smooth, and shiny. Additionally, I wish the salon was in a different location as it’s on a busy street with mostly parallel parking which made it difficult to find open spots. Nonetheless, I will be coming back to this salon in the future.

Lisa Appler If you are looking for a great hair salon this is the place to go! After struggling for years to find the right place I finally found a gem. Not only are the services that are provided outstanding but you are made to feel right at home. Its like catching up with old friends while getting your hair done. The pricing is on point and you will absolutely leave feeling amazing. Angelline, the owner, is meticulous with her work and the way she keeps the salon. She is FANTASTIC! Shout out to Flora and Adina too, they are so personable.

William Swift This is the most trans friendly hair location in dutchess county, and it is also the friendliest. You will talk at Gilmore Girls speed about anything at all, the staff are truly interested. I was 100% comfortable there and knew that although it was a salon, I could explain that I wanted something masculine and have it done. Registered on strands for trans as well!

Ashley Leonard I have lived all over the country and have had my hair cut by many stylists. Kourtney is awesome! It’s great to find someone who genuinely knows what they’re doing and you can trust. I get to relax and take a chill pill and let her do what she does best. I always leave happy and get tons of compliments on my hair. Oh, and I have moved away from Poughkeepsie and still make the two hour roundtrip back to her. Time is valuable- so that says everything!

Kiggins Jules “Jules” Kourtney was amazing!! Ive never felt so welcomed and listened to by a hair stylist. She took my concerns and input seriously and gave me the best dye and cut of my life!! Im shocked she doesnt charge more for how good she is. So thrilled, I cant recommend Hairesy enough.

Marilyn Carkner Kourtney is awesome! She is as talented as she is friendly. The whole salon has a very welcoming atmosphere. I suck at keeping my hair regularly trimmed but Hairesy Studio has such good vibes that I want to go back and actually remember to make appointments. This salon is also openly LGBTQ+ friendly!

Alexis Waller She is excellent, I was in and out (I went on Tuesday). Anyway she’s super sweet and is really fast and efficient, you can’t find a lot of people that can do a good blowout. Just make sure if you’re leaving a tip to tell her before swiping the card because she really deserved one and I didn’t tell her soon enough. I recommend her for sure

JoyWill75 I have tried two braiding salons here in Poughkeepsie and I was not happy with their work at all and unfortunately vowed not to return to either one. I googled other braid salons in the area and found African Hair Braiding Studio. I made appointments for two of my nieces (11 year olds). They were able to do their hair (knotless box braids) on the same day at the same time and the braids came out very pretty. It’s a nice, clean and new salon. Both ladies were personable and professional. I plan on returning for myself and with other family members.

Discount_ Trashhh My friend recommended this place to me and honestly Im glad I went. I Love it. I was prepared to sit for alot more hours but it was so quick. Ask for Esther she did my hair and I love it. She was so nice and professional. This was my first time during quarantine getting my hair done and it was very clean she wore a mask the whole time. No tight braids that hurt my head either. 10/10 place

Brendan Sullivan On the outside Mane & Clover looks like a womens salon (which it is) but in addition to that, Courtney and her colleagues provide excellent mens barber cuts. I lived in the apartment above Courtneys shop for 1 year and every cut I got that year was from Courtney. I was always very satisfied and appreciated Courtneys styling advice and brainstorming. As additional bonuses, the salon is a wonderful place to hang out, chat, snooze on a couch in the sun, etc–and Courtney is an excellent conversationalist if chatting during cuts is your jam. I highly recommend.
