Sandra Ochoa I enjoyed visiting Capelli Curl and couldn’t be happier with the experience! Judy was incredibly gentle and took her time to explain every step of the process, making me feel comfortable and confident in her hands. She truly understands how to care for and style curls; her attention to detail was excellent. My hair looks and feels fantastic! If you’re looking for a stylist who knows curls and takes the time to educate you along the way, Judy is the one. Highly recommend!

Carla S I have been searching for a curly hair stylist for a very long time and
after ton of research, I stumbled upon this salon. One thing that caught my attention was all great reviews about Pedro. I finally made an appointment.
Pedro deserves all the hype. He is kind, patient and highly skilled. Most of all, he listened to me and explained what needed to be done to achieve the look I wanted.
Pedro did such an amazing job with my hair.
My Curls looks so much better. They are well defined and perfectly shaped.
Anyone with natural curly hair knows It’s not easy to find a hair stylist you can trust. I am so happy to have found Pedro. I would highly recommend him.
Judith and other staff are very nice. Cute salon. Very clean.

I never write reviews to places but I had to come back and post something. They taught me to do my hair and showed me products that worked with my curls. Absolutely amazing service! They also made my engagement party hair GORGEOUS. I loved every part of it. Thank you!!!

Celeste Housey I went in for a light trim. He absolutely butchered my hair, leaving me with a mullet mushroom. He cut 4-5" from the top and around my face and left the back long. He then blamed me for having "bad hair" and claimed that he needed to shape my hair. Then he claimed that my hair is a different texture in the back. I have never heard this from any stylist before, including him when he first cut my hair years ago. I have a long chunk of hair in the back of my head and everything else is short. Instead of trying to see what he could do to make me happy with it, he tried to continue to cut the top and then blamed the fact that I had requested to leave the length and only do a little trim. He said, "she dont know nothing!" at a very loud volume from across the whole salon while walking away and waving me off, in front of all the other people in the salon. I know when my hair is butchered! In addition, I felt super humiliated as the only Black woman in the salon being treated like this, talked down to, yelled at, blamed, and insulted. Humiliating visit. I left crying with a mullet two weeks before my wedding. Horrible.

Jessye Salmon BEWARE DO NOT GO HERE!!!
It has been around 2 months when I got my hair cut here, and it’s taken that long to fully process the trauma that took place at the salon. I came in wanting a mullet, and a previous hair stylist made the foundation for this cut (my other stylist did not want to go all the way but that’s a different story love him). All they had to do was trim the sides and I would be on my way. I initially was excited, since the receptionist had the hair style that I wanted. But when I got into the chair that I booked (I believe her name was Jaqueline), I could tell immediately had no idea what she was doing. She lacked confidence, and I become very nervous when I asked genuine questions and was trying to walk her through what I wanted. The entire time I was very clear, I wanted to retain the length of my hair. She proceeded to cut my hair, then wash and style it. Now with curly cuts there are 2 cuts involved, a dry cut when you come in and a second one when it is washed and styled. Now during this second cut her boss (I’m assuming the owner) came over and started to speak to her in Spanish, I did not understand what he was saying but then he started touching my hair and trying to explain to her what to do to give me my desired cut. This is when I felt truly uneasy and started to speak to him. He said that she cut the length of my hair and to get the desired cut that I wanted I’d need to chop almost all of it off. I was mortified, and started crying in the chair. I was very upset and what was worse, the whole salon was looking at me as I was mourning my hair. The boss then took over the cut and explained to me that I’d had to sacrifice the length to get what I wanted. At that point I just wanted to get out of there and was in a haze so I just said yes. This was a major mistake. He cut all of my hair off. Did not remotely give me what I wanted, not even close to the shape of the Mullet even short, and sent me on my way. He comped the haircut (which I was not going to pay for anyway after what had just happened), and the worst part was, there was no apology given by anyone who had touched my hair that day. No one said they were sorry, nothing. Honestly if I was given an apology I wouldn’t be making this post but they lacked the character to do so.
After reflecting on my experience I believe that my initial stylist was not properly trained on how to do African American hair. I have 3c/4a hair, and I believe it is that which made her uncomfortable doing my hair. This is unacceptable being a diva curl salon which is meant to be inclusive of all curly textures, even mine and it was clear they are not properly trained on how to do it.
To capelli curl, you must do better. Learn how to apologize to a customer and learn how to do type 3c/4a hair and most importantly know when you are out of your depth. She clearly did not know what she was doing and if she just backed away and said she couldn’t do it we would be in a completely different situation, but no. We both know what went on, you knew you messed up, and now I have to live with the consequences and I will probably be regrowing the hair you butchered for years to come.
