Tehmina Shaukat I made an appointment for family plaining and confirmed it a day before. The following day when I got there the receptionist told me my appointment was canceled and no one informed me. She told me she can make a new appointment for tomorrow, when I said I cant come every day. She said I dont care it is not my problem. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff.

FARIYA CHOWDHURY Amazing psychiatric care! always listens and takes his time to thoroughly address all my concerns. Customizing treatments to my needs have given me a lot of comfort and trust in the mental health care that I’m receiving. Dr. Halil is the best!

Hidaya Majeed I am beyond furious with the service at this doctor’s office. They never answer the phone, making it absolutely impossible to get through for appointments or inquiries. It’s as if they don’t care about their patients at all. I’ve wasted countless hours trying to get someone to pick up, only to be met with endless ringing or rude, dismissive staff when someone finally answers. The staff’s attitude is appalling. They are consistently rude, unprofessional, and treat patients like a burden. It’s clear that they have no interest in providing decent customer service or even basic human decency. Their indifference is infuriating and unacceptable. To add insult to injury, the wait times are a complete joke. Despite having an appointment, I’ve never waited less than an hour to be seen. The waiting room is overcrowded and uncomfortable, making the experience even worse. It’s obvious that this office is grossly mismanaged and has zero respect for their patients’ time. Overall, this place is a nightmare. The lack of communication, horrendous customer service, and absurdly long wait times make it one of the worst medical offices I’ve ever encountered. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other practices out there that actually care about their patients and know how to run an office properly.

Keith B I been going to Jericho for quite a few years and have mostly been happy with the service. They are friendly and professional. The only problem I ever had with them was at the beginning of COVID. I tested positive for it and then they didnt want to help me out with my back issues.

Melanie Borrero Been with this clinic since i was 15 yrs old. They are good . But for the past 2-3 days i have been calling morning , afternoon and before closing to schedule my 2 week Ob appointment and to also get my test results and no one answers the phone at all. I have left voicemails and no call backs, i have also messaged the page and nothing either . Im not understanding the issue with simply answering a phone call for medical reason.

Curly Jay This office just really keeps going downhill. They don’t care about their patients . I been begging these people to fix my dad’s script so he can get his feeds since he’s a stroke patient and can’t really take nothing by mouth. It’s been a whole month trying. Now nobody answers the phone. Dr Glick and Ciera never call back super hard to reach I don’t know what else to do . Will definitely be leaving this clinic and removing both my parents from here as they have no care in the world for their patients .

purna Pulami This is nice and good place for health needs and regular check-up, and also better for those who cant speak english for communication they will provide you more than eight different language interpreter also more convenient for walk in some days. In my experience regret on choosing this as my physician is ,more than 10-15 visit i never get parking here and this clinic gets busy more often.

Samantha Bell If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I saw the nurse practitioner first. It was a great visit. This past visit I met the doctor. I had Dr. Cruz. I absolutely do NOT recommend you have her as your doctor. I went in regarding thyroid pain. With a family history of thyroid issues it would make sense for this to be a concern. Well she had no interest in discussing the issue. Instead she wanted to go over my mental health and ask if I wanted medications. I am not on any medication for anxiety, depression or anything else for mental health. My mental health has been great and she was just pushing the pills. I am on medication for asthma but she had NO idea that her practice prescribed the medication and has conducted the tests on that to keep tabs on my asthma. I also have the tendency to get extremely nervous at a doctors office, which I was really nervous since I thought she was going to be pressing on my already painful thyroid. My blood pressure was slightly elevated. Nothing alarming. She even said so at first and so did her nurses! Well then it was all about an EKG and the rosacea on my face. I was there for my thyroid. I told her I do not consent to the EKG at this time and she tells me this practice doesn’t seem like a good fit for me and my family. First off, when did my family come into play? Secondly, you didn’t even address the issue? I was there talking to her for over half an hour. Also how many brain cells does it take to figure out a blood pressure cuff? She couldn’t figure it out! He had my hand above my head causing it to fall asleep. She was not even releasing the air so it was just hurting me. I called to make a complaint and had to get a voicemail. I am posting this as a warning. If you are looking for a practice then don’t choose this practice. I don’t trust them when my life. I had to walk out of the office. I couldn’t stay there any longer. She told me I couldn’t then I asked if there was something I could then sign saying I will leave against medical advice. I wouldn’t trust her at all. I don’t know how all of the doctors are at this practice but if they are anything like her then they need their license stripped. She doesn’t deserve the job she has. I also reported her. She doesn’t deserve to treat patients the way she did today. I don’t care if you were having a bad day or what was going on in your personal life. LEAVE IT AT THE DOOR AND TREAT YOUR PATIENTS WITH THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE! I hope this saves someone from deciding to go to this practice!

Jessica R I don’t know when the hospitals in Buffalo became the worst of all! I am here with a person who clearly has the flu, he has 7 of the 8 symptoms on the warning chart due to a flu outbreak now Jan 2018. He was taken a flu swab at 2am it’s 2:51 am so I looked up “how long for the flu swab results?” It says 15 minutes so I tell the lady at triage and she says another 45 minutes?? So I tell her there are two people that’s has been over 12 hours and I know everyone’s case is different so I went and ask her based on your experience how much longer until he gets some flu medication or something for the vomiting -3 since he got here- and she says at least a couple of hours! For a person with flu on nationally known outbreak .... only one ambulance patience and 13 here at the ER Waiting room

Kim Gallo The review written by Jessica that is just below mine is for the ER at Buffalo General NOT the Neurology Clinic. I have spend a great deal of time in the hospital and getting care from the Neurology clinic at BGH. They are top notch in my opinion. I have an undiagnosed illness that stemmed from getting a flu shot in 2005 which caused terrible issues with my nerves effecting muscles, as a result I lost my ability to walk twice for about a year each time. Out the three hospitals I spent time in, the rehab team and the neurology clinic at BGH got me walking when no one else could. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Mike Dr.Glover here at BGMC neurology has saved my life and has been the best neurologist I could have ever asked for. He hes been a blessing and has done miracles withy epilepsy, I was having about 300 seizures a month and after speaking with Dr.Glover I was able to have a procedure done and now Im down to about 15/month and there so minor idk there even happening

Jeremy Bartee I had reason to visit the hospital after having some questions about my heart rate at the eye clinic where I was having cataract surgery. I spent two days there and even with a few things that were aggravating or things that may not been moving at a pace in which I felt they should, the staff was fantastic overall. From the start, the intake nurse was great all the way to Ella who was the nurse who took care of me for most of my stay and she is a wonderful, patient and pleasant person. I apologize that I dont remember everyone. There were a lot of different people taking care of me and performing different functions. Dr. Brumberger (cardiologist) came to see me during my stay. He is a great guy. Talks to you, looks at you when he speaks and explains things so you can understand them. I have been to see him in your offices subsequent to my stay and I am happy to say that I have found a new doctor if I need those services going forward. The nurses in his office in the hospital were all very polite and professional. I only remember Laura, but the three working on that unit were all equally cordial. Thank you

Lu Sal My water broke at 28 weeks and was admitted to sisters hospital. I was so scared and confused and didnt know what was going to happen. I spent a few hours at labor and delivery and everyone there were so nice and helpful. Many doctors came in from the nicu and explained to me what could happen which was so scary but they did their best to reassure me that everything can also be ok and their was also a chance i would not deliver soon. Hours passed and still i was not in labor thank god and they took me to mother and baby where i spent the next four weeks there. I met the most kind hearted and sweet and loving nurses and doctors and nurse aids there. Every nurse and nurse aid that walked in my room was very compassionate and kind and did their best to keep a smile on my face considering i was going thru a scary time in my pregnancy. I wish i remembered all their names to thank each one. Even all the doctors that would come every morning were very nice and listened to all my concerns. I had one doctor specifically that came in every day and did my ultrasound Dr Katherine O’Donnell, she was the sweetest soul i have ever met. She was very professional and loving and cared very much for her patients. After our talks and ultrasound i always felt comfortable and reassured and will always be greatful to her. After i gave birth at almost 32 weeks my baby Zayn spent almost 6 weeks in the nicu where he was in amazing hands. All his nurses and doctors where amazing and loving there. They made us feel very comfortable over there and took care of my baby. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses for everything they did for me and my son and for being so kind.

Shelly Pitz I visited the ED on Wednesday and stayed for observation until Thursdsy evening. From intake to discharge, everyone was amazing. The nurses were all so friendly and helpful. They were very attentive to anything I needed and genuinely happy to help me. I had an incident with an allergic reaction and the nurses jumped right into action. I had 5 nurses in my room all working quickly to make sure I was ok. I believe it was the quick action that only caused a very tiny reaction. I am so grateful for all who helped me in my 2 day stay. They made me as comfortable as possible. If I didnt have to be there for a reason, id say I enjoyed it. Great job!

E Mass The security guards could learns some manners and hospitality. The only reason for the 3 stars is because of my limited interactions with the nurses. They were great and so kind. While every security guard, especially the one at reception tonight, was so rude.

Joseph Gajewski Worst hospital I’ve ever been in to. My girlfriend started to experience signs of pre term labor. We went into her obgyn and they saw contractions. We were recommended to go into sisters hospital. We go there and they get us into a room. The First Lady that comes in does not even state her name. Didn’t even smile. My girlfriend was told to get undressed and the nurse didn’t even leave the room to give her some privacy. She gets the monitors on her belly and we wait. One of the monitors fell off of her belly and I notified the nurse. Right when I told her, she was shaking her head like we were in the wrong. Never came in to fix it by the way. My girlfriend had cultures taken and they didn’t even take them out of the room to test. They were sitting there on the table when we left. For all we know they threw them in the trash. The nurse comes in the last time and rips the test paper right out of the machine, almost pulls the machine right off the table. Crumbles it up and says we are good to go home. The best part is the nurse with no name told my girlfriend to take all of the medical equipment off herself. They didn’t even take it off for her. We left with no answers and we are very unhappy with the professionalism from the staff. They honestly deserve no stars but I had to atleast put one to write a review. Everyone seemed unprofessional from whom we talked to and saw. Hope the next visit will be better.

Lisa K Earlier this week I had my 3rd joint replacement at St Joes Hospital on Harlem Road. Each experience was very good considering that I was having surgery. Everyone, yes every single staff member was kind and considerate. At this point, you are lucky to get someone nice to buy coffee from anymore, so its a wonderful surprise to find that kind of treatment. They have been attentive, courteous and took all the time I needed to answer any question. Ive had surgery at too many of our local hospitals so I feel like I have enough experience to compare. I was concerned at first because I have heard the St Joes horror stories but to be fair, all the hospitals have their share of those. What was abundantly clear to me each time Ive been there was that St Joes is working hard to be an exceptional place for surgical care. I have chronic health issues and, unfortunately, medical treatment is a necessary evil for me. One thing at my age, (60), that I insist on for myself, is to be treated kindly. I try to be nice and respectful to all of them and I want the same. If you are going to hurt me at least be nice about it! Not only are they nice, there were some notable acts of kindness showed to me that were above and beyond. They were actions that were clearly not taught, but were the nature of a nurse that was doing the job she was meant to have. If you have ever been the recipient of one of these acts of kindness, you know how much they mean. Whether its the maintenance crew that is friendly, brightening your day, the anesthesiologist that uses humor to lighten the situation, putting you more at ease. Or the aide that not only covers you with a warm blanket when you are cold, but takes the time to tuck it in around you, these acts of kindness matter. They take an unpleasant, painful, and sometimes scary situation and make it so much better. Its isolating going in for surgery but St Joes makes me feel like Im not there alone. I hope the entire staff knows that I appreciated you all. If I thanked everyone this review would be 10 pages! I wish i knew all your names and could mention everyone. To the administrators, you have some exceptional staff, take care of them. I will just end with a special thank you to Tami, the nurse that gently reached out and took my hand during a painful procedure. It was unexpected and very comforting. In that moment I felt better and knew I was in good hands. Thank you all so much!

Suz Knobz On Mar 11, 2025 at 4:15 pm, ER support staff and medical personnel treated me swiftly, with compassion, and effective, knowledgeable care. As a senior, I wish they had capabilities for in patient care too! Thank you to ALL.

H H I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the emergency room at this hospital. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by long wait times, disorganized staff, and a general lack of empathy. From the moment I arrived, I was left waiting for an inordinate amount of time without any updates on my status. When I finally was seen by a doctor, I felt rushed and my concerns were not adequately addressed. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, which added to my frustration and anxiety. As someone who was already stressed and worried about my health, this experience only made things worse. I hope that the hospital takes steps to address these issues and improve their emergency room service get better nurses .Patients deserve better care and compassion, especially in emergency situations.

Linda Murray We just had outpatient surgery and it was the best hospital experience in years. Clean facility extremely kind people From the hospital staff to the professionals. Even when we ran into a post op concern they followed up thoroughly and appropriately in the emergency room . Again the nurses aids and doctors were great communicators And showed thoughtfulness.

Melissa Borkman My mother in law got into a car accident and went here to be seen. They had her waiting in a waiting room for 5 hours. She ended up walking out. The staff were just lounging around watching law and order. Youve got to be kidding me. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. This hospital is useless.

Edwina Davis I waited 2 months to see Dr. Sousa because I wanted a Black GYN- I could have just gone to a local clinic and seen anyone available. Very disappointing. She asked a few questions, the actually stated, I really dont even need to know, Im just being nosey. Excuse me? How incredibly unprofessional, not to mention that was a month ago and I havent heard anything. When I called back to get test results, the location I visited is not even an option on their main menu. Then I tried calling another site thinking someone inside could assist me with the right location, no one answered. Do better!

Tina Núñez Mean, dismissive, uninformed, bordering on malpractice. They only care about pregnant patients, When pregnancy is just a small percentage of *some* womens lives. I was really excited to find a minority female OBGYN, now Im looking for a new one after just 2 appointments with this office.
1 /5
Tracee J I visited this location from 2011-2018 and the only reason I did is because my OBGYN nurse practitioner was at this location. She split her time between her and Buffalo State. I was enrolled as a student and she was my regular doctor there. When I graduated I followed her but I ultimately left after I ended up needing surgery. I give two stars and mostly 5 for my OBGYN NP cause she was amazing! The two stars was for the rest of the different doctors and staff who treated me like I was stupid, were condescending and acted like I wasnt educated about my medical background and conditions and the staff....lack of professionalism, incompetence, poor social skills, questionable HIPPA violations and overall being disgusting people that I didnt want to deal with. I left my doctor that I loved because of that. I now go to the Womens Health at 2072 Kensington Ave. staff is WAY more pleasant and professional and I love the doctor I see who has performed my most recent surgery a year ago. If this place isnt working for you ladies then I suggest advocating for yourself and moving on. Womens Health has other locations that may work for you. It was worth it to me.

a shahla The service and staff at buffalo medical group at orchard park is exceptional efficient and very courteous. I specifically want to highlight BRIDGETTE, who was my ultrasound technician. From the minute I walked into the office, she was extremely pleasant, warm and welcoming. Her bedside manner was impeccable. She was extremely sensitive to the nature of my imaging test and provided me with details as she proceeded. She made the entire experience comfortable. When we learned I was pregnant, she also allowed my husband to be a part of the experience. We will always remember this. What a wonderful team and they are lucky to have her there. Thank you so much!

Valerie Rauth This place should be shut down for how it treats its patients. I went to a foot doctor in the group and he was completely rude the whole time he was in the room with me, talking down to me, most of the talking with his eyes were closed, telling me my insurance is not the best, I work for NYS I have excellent insurance. Never went back to foot doctor and they also cancels my primary doctor cause I complained about the foot doctor experience. I am taking further cause a lady name "megan" told me today that they could not give me a reason why Im not a patient any longer. STAY AWAY FROM BUFFALO MEDICAL GROUP

Laura Douglas Ive gone here for various appointments since this place opened. I generally never have good experiences with support staff or nurses. The PAs and doctors are usually nice, but clearly overworked. I usually dismiss the behavior and schedule appointments elsewhere in the southtowns when I can. Today though, I could not dismiss how absolutely filthy the exam room was. Sharing pictures, so others can make informed decisions before waiting months for an appointment. I will not be returning.

Address: 3085 Harlem Rd # 200, Cheektowaga, NY 14225

(239) Reviews WNY Urology Associates - Cheektowaga:

tara petty Multiple bad experiences with this office. I was referred initially to follow up about some abnormal results. Dr. Gonka scheduled some imaging to be done. Her and multiple of her staff told me multiple times that I would have all of the results before I left the day of the imaging. This did not happen. Dr. Gonka told me she would call with the results if there were any issues. She never called. There was no follow up. About a year later, after visiting the ER due to kidney stones, my primary scheduled a visit with this office for follow up as I was already established there as a patient. This office communicated the wrong date of the appointment, so when I showed up for my appointment at the time I was told, they said I would not be seen that day, and that the appointment was for the next day. When I came back the next day and finally saw the doctor, the doctor had no idea why I was there. She thought I was there to follow up from the testing done a year earlier. She had to scramble to look at the notes and did not look at the most recent imaging but only a summary of the findings. She scheduled me for more imaging that day, which I had done after seeing her. She also said that I needed to schedule a follow up appointment with her six weeks out to discuss treatment of the remaining stones. The office called me later in the day with the results of the imaging done that day. That follow up appointment was today. I waited over 30 minutes to be seen. The provider I saw was not Dr. Gonka. All the provider did was give me the results of the imaging that I already had from six weeks prior. There was no conversation about treating the remaining stones. When asked about it, the provider said they were stable. I already knew that. It was a complete waste of time. Due to multiple chronic health conditions that I manage, I see multiple specialists on a regular basis. I am used to a range of the level of care across different specialties. None of my experiences have been like this. This office feels like a human factory and the incompetence demonstrated by multiple levels of their staffing leads to me questioning their competence to provide appropriate, adequate care. I will be working with my primary to establish care with a different urologist for any future care. Avoid if at all possible.

Allison My Dad is a current patient and he has had nothing but good things to say about the office from the warm and welcoming staff at check-in to the excellent physicians who provide the best care. He travels from out of the area just to come to this office and has continued to do so for years. He highly recommends this office.

Kelley Lorich It’s been 2.5 years since I have come back to this place because I avoid it at all cost due to being completely unorganized and only out for $$, not patient care. This morning I couldn’t take the pain anymore so I called the office at 8am asking for an appointment. They called me back at 9:10 and asked me how soon could I be there, I said 20 minutes and they said “perfect come now.” I get there at 9:30 and am told my appointment isn’t until 2pm. I explain that they are the ones that told me to come now so I did. Then now tell me to just sit here and wait to see if they can get me in. This is absolutely ridiculous. Next time, I’ll go to the hospital.

MLQ L Ive been coming to this office for years, I can finally say that no matter what happens to me and my health, I will NEVER EVER return. Each visit Im there for well over an hour in the waiting room, then wait to see the Dr, then go to checkout and wait again, but cant hear the scheduler talking to me because I have trouble with hearing. This place it is an office set up more like a factory farm for humans. No one answers after calling to them from an exam room after waiting for a substantial amount of time, being left in a vulnerable state because youre undressed from the waist down, but finally when someone comes they get less than 2 inches from a patients nose to inform them that theyre still running behind, but have no decency or respect to update the patient so that they can make sure they have transportation set up to get home. Ironically though, they get beyond furious when a patient is still waiting to get picked up, but cant leave if a patient in a wheelchair is still waiting for their ride outside unattended because theyre off the clock. All of this said, they are more than happy to bill you for a no-show because you left only so that you can get a ride home and avoid them being furious that you cant get home when their office has closed for the day. Honestly, if they bother to remove my post, I will just repost it again because potential patients should know how their staff overbook themselves, yet if a patient is 15 mins late, they will not see them and just send them a bill, afterall, money is way beyond important to them than treating their patients with any dignity or respect.

Tyler Bluder Not sure why all the negative comments/1 stars, but our experience was exceptional. I’d give 10 stars if I could. My son was brought in on a referral from another hospital without a pediatric surgeon at 4am for an emergency appendectomy. We had a room right away in triage and then to the family room shortly after. He was squeezed into an early surgery and out by 9am. Everyone from the nurses, RNs, Doctors, and even the housekeepers were amazing. We were extremely skeptical from reading the reviews before we arrived, but our experience was amazing. Our room even had two pull-out beds and a bathroom with a shower that we could use (much needed after being up for over 28 hours at that point). Just bummed we missed Josh Allen visiting by about 12 hours. If you’re coming here for emergency surgery, rest assured your experience will be nothing short of amazing. Huge thank you to all the staff for going out of their way to support us!! Last note is the food. “Room service” for the patient is ACTUAL FOOD and not the typical hospital food. For the parents/guardians, there is a deli on the second floor that was great and across the street in Buffalo general (I think that’s what it’s called) is a Tim Hortons. It’s just a short two minute walk away and on the second floor also.

Brenda Molina I brought my daughter for a same day surgery, and I am really happy with the care we received. Everything went smoothly, and the staff were wonderful. A special thank you to Stephanie from Patient Relations. She was so kind and helped me with everything I needed. She really made me feel comfortable and supported. I am very grateful for her help. Thank you for making this experience better than I expected.

Tom Meland My 2 year old son woke up at 1am gasping for air and coughing uncontrollably. I assumed going to the emergency room for an emergency would imply some sense of urgency. Not the case. I parked in front of the nearest door and ran to it with my son. Apparently only one door is open past a certain time. Banging on the main entrance door while holding a kid who can’t breathe on Christmas morning is apparently only good enough for a few awkward stares from security. Signs that say “use emergency entrance only” have no arrows or description of where the emergency exit is. After running around half the hospital’s sidewalk (a good portion uphill) while holding my son and the diaper bag I finally got in. I then waited in an empty waiting room, nobody at the desk, multiple nurses waltzing around in the back. Security made a call to someone once I asked if my kid had to stop breathing completely in order to be seen. Here’s the fun part… the nurse/receptionist/whoever it was that checked us in, sits there and stares at my kid for no joke a whole minute after all the necessary steps were completed as if she was giving him the “eye test” to see if he was sick enough to be seen. His breathing calmed down a lot since we had left the house, thankfully. Unfortunately your pale stare didn’t kill the croup virus he was diagnosed with but it did make me remember your face. I hope I get the chance to help you when you’re in need some day. I’ll take a good long look at you while you suffer, first. Once admitted, the doctors and nurses were fantastic, I will say.

Daniel Kolb This hospital is nothing short of exceptional. Ive been here with my son multiple times over the past 2 years due to his asthma during rsv season. One of the times landing us in the ICU for two weeks and on a ventilator. I cant say enough good about the staff here especially the nursing staff. They are undoubtedly the best of the best. I would go as far as saying the best in the country. Ive never seen care in any other hospital like this. Round the clock, crossing the Ts and dotting the is to ensure they are doing everything in theyre ability to make my son healthy again. Us western New Yorkers are so lucky to have this place in our back pocket. Thank you Oishei Childrens Hospital for your exceptional care!

Samantha Branchaud My son was there with pneumonia last summer and they did a great job from the nurse at the ER to his inpatient stay. We were on vacation when he got sick and were grateful for their help. My son often asks if we can go back which is pretty rare for a hospital.

Then had the nerve to tell me I need to take time off of my job to take care of things. They just want money. They dont care just like cpep. I will be calling patient advocate about this

Ally Pierce I was at Brylin 4 times in under a year. I was suffering from severe mental problems. I was met with supportive staff and doctors. There is always room for improvement but i was extremely grateful to be here. This is a luxury place compared to ECMC.

Nick Kazowsko My name is Ethan, I’m not one to leave reviews on here or anywhere in that matter. However, as someone who has been here a genuinely countless amount of times (child unit) between the years 2020 and my most recent visit being just a month and a half ago, i feel like its almost necessary to share my experiences. I’ve been to memorial(ER psych unit) ECMC(ER psych unit) CPEP(short-term, like Brylin) and CPC(a longer term hospital) as well, sadly I have to admit this is most likely the best option if you or your loved one has to be seen inpatient. Negatives: 9/10 they cannot keep the unit under control, multiple “codes” (emergencies) a day, kids there get triggered by the other peers and or staff constantly, if one person slips up it can ruin the day for the entire unit and were put in “down time” (i think its called reflection now) but its where everyone has to be in their rooms and sometimes they drag it out until the end of the evening depending on the situation at hand. I’ve personally witnessed so many of the staff reward the kids who had just gotten into trouble for their bad behavior even after they just got our group shut down/taken. Lots of screaming and shouting, as to be expected, but it can never get under control because the other peers or staff almost enables it. I’ve been on both sides of the “screaming your head off” coin, and let me tell you; staff threatening a “shot” (a sedative) and the kids screaming “booty juice!!” Isnt helping anyones situation. Theres kids in there getting taken out who need more help and theres kids being slammed into residential or long term who need a different type of care. The doctors can listen, but usually not well. I’ve seen myself out of this place well over 10 times, in all honesty they have focused on the wrong problems even when i tried to explain what i needed they ignored me and said “yep, this kid needs his 10th med update!” Also, this place is normally understaffed, when that happens group options are more limited and no matter the weather we are kept inside, the kids are usually asked what group they want to do and going outside is always a ‘option’ but never given up. Sometimes people need fresh air that isnt hogged by the STRONG and repulsing smell of urine in the bathroom, hand sanitizer, and glue. Positives: a good amount of the staff here care enough to see you, they do admissions over the phone and tell you when you can be brought in, the waiting list can be very long so it may take a while to get a bed, the doctors will most likely see you every weekday (Monday - Friday) morning, the staff are attentive in most cases and normally understanding, theres options to pick meals for the day (not including breakfast but they bring options), and normally there are multiple groups a day if its not extremely understaffed.

Mary Magic I realize that if you came to read the reviews, you are already in a desperate situation. If you care at all about your loved one, PLEASE take the negative reviews seriously. We have extensive experience with ECMC & BryLin. While CPEP at ECMC is a traumatizing experience, the end result after a stay at the psych unit has always been much, much better. My loved one was never released from ECMC until they were on correct meds & stabilized. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for BryLiin. They released my loved one in a worse state than when they were admitted. BryLin did not administer the correct meds to get my loved one stabilized before release even though they were provided with the information on the 1st day. To top it off, they never made sure my loved one had a safe place to be released to, they were literally dumped at the curb.in the city. BryLin should be ASHAMED! Response to BryLin (owner): Unfortunately, a parroted response was expected. We DO NOT believe you are sorry to hear about our negative experience. Quite the opposite. Brylin had plenty of opportunity to help someone & they did not. Your inaction actually hurt people. Just curious, hearing this, did the smirk on someones face at Brylin just get larger? #2 Response to Brylin (owner) Where have I read this before? Sorry about your experience, blah, blah, blah, Please contact Quality Improvement / Risk Management.... SAVE IT !!! Tell me why would I waste my time? So I can receive the same rehearsed lines? We did contact BryLin numerous times while our loved one was in your care. We expressed our concerns each time. Luckily, I kept a journal. BryLin was not interested at the time, so, why would BryLin be interested now? The hospital had plenty of time to do the right thing & failed miserably. What happened? Short staffed? Employee burnout? Some employees not qualified to hold a position that requires empathy & compassion? Did the money run out???? From now until my dying days I will fill anyones ear that is willing to listen, exactly how our family was hurt by what has happened. Live with it. We have to.

Eric Niedermeier No full time regular male doctors. All males are residency and constantly changing. Specifically requested a male doctor, and the residency doctor brought a female student in with him. Specifically requested certain blood work and he never entered the lab order. Trying to get ahold of a nurse to ask a question? Good luck. Theres an extension that NEVER answers the phone even during working hours. What are these staff doing? Want to connect through an app? NOPE. they direct you to FollowMyHealth, where they dont even show up as a healthcare organization you can connect with. Jumped through a bunch of hoops for nothing. The number in Google (961-9900) is not correct anymore either. This place is a trainwreck. Go elsewhere Will be looking for a new primary

Tricia Zafuto My family member was advised they accept her insurance. The same day as her appointment she was notified that they do not participate with her insurance. Additionally, she was then offered to pay out of pocket, which I’m pretty sure is against state guidelines. When she informed them that she cannot afford to do that, she was then threatened to be charged a late cancellation/no show fee. Further more receptionist said that other providers there participate with her insurance carrier but are not accepting new patients at this time. We asked to speak with the office manager and were transferred to an extremely rude woman named Sally who was talking over my family member and didn’t let her finish what she was saying. She also then contradicted the information given by her front desk staff and said no one there takes that insurance. I have never experienced(as I was listening to their conversation) such poor customer service, unprofessionalism and complete lack of empathy from a healthcare professional, much less someone in management. This is very sad and I’m sure is a deterrent for individuals seeking care. I definitely do not recommend.

Anthony Disclaimer: I have never left reviews for bad service as I usually don’t like to hold grudges or condemn a business. However I cannot in good conscience keep this horrible experience to myself. If you want to get treated for an emergency do not go to this ER! I took my partner here when she woke up to a serious infection in her hand & arm that was discolored & swelling. The swelling was so severe that her ring was unable to be removed. We went to sisters hospital and checked in at the ER around 2AM and felt we’d get serviced in a reasonable time due to the seriousness of her condition and the waiting room only having a couple other people waiting to be seen. Both the registration nurse and the nurse at the triage saw her hand and DID NOT seem to have the slightest care or sense of urgency when my partner expressed the level of pain she was in. I’d like to add both nurses didn’t even attempt to examine her arm and just stated “okay your vitals look fine and you don’t have a fever.” We then sat in the waiting room for no less than 4 hours and her vitals weren’t even rechecked in that time. I mentioned the number of other people in the waiting room before because if the ER was full or if there were people getting rushed in on stretchers or others being prioritized due to the severity of their injuries, i can sympathize with a longer wait time. However that simply was not the case. It was not busy and my partner was not a priority even though the swelling in her hand & arm had doubled in size in the 4 hours we sat there unserviced. We came to the conclusion we weren’t going to be seen anytime soon and made the executive decision to leave and go to a different ER before her condition worsened and could possibly need amputation to even remove the ring stuck on her finger. I rushed her over to ECMC and we were seen and began treatment an hour later. Catholic health if/when you read this, get it together and restructure how your staff handles & prioritizes physical emergencies at your facility. It’s called an emergency room for a reason. Completely unnecessary wait times and a disturbing lack of urgency from your staff. I’d leave zero stars if I could. Do better.

Nicole Boynton Because ALL the hospitals in Rochester are so terrible my PA friend recommended I go to Buffalo for life saving care. Im not familiar with any of the hospitals but we have a clinic that Sisters runs here so I chose it. Huge mistake. I already knew the dx, Id contracted bacterial meningitis but Rochester is full of providers that would rather mock, traumatize & otherwise verbally abused patients than uphold their oath to do no harm so I experienced & was dx with known complications of it such as compartment syndrome & rhabdomyolysis but they still somehow couldnt wrap it around their micro brains that they were wrong when they mocked me for not dying fast enough and the compartment syndrome ripped through my entire body including my abdomen and chest within 3 months and I was terrified of going back to another hospital. I waited a while & came here with my ex husband & found the security & intake post empty. Waited 20 mins for the woman to mosey over & ask what the problem was & I briefly explained it & had to do it again 3 more times w/triage nurse & the 2 inexperienced & inept doctor & nurse I had. The one star is because everyone was extremely kind to me & my ex. But they dont have a clue what theyre doing or talking about & they even tried telling me that they could perform an LP but they didnt have anyone to read it & how the lab techs can only read blood work. I was laughing out loud at this point & I asked for a CT of my swollen abdomen to show distention & they did it but discharged me before the results came back. They lied & told me everything was normal. I only was coherent enough to make an account and look 3 months later but it showed distention of my abdomen & bowel & other organs. I spent $160 on Ubers there & back for the same BS we have in Rochester & it appears that ALL of upstate NY is going under medically since COVID. NYC is too competitive for that, they actually have so many hospitals for people to choose from theyre ensuring they keep people alive & happy down there because their population demands it. Buffalo, Rochester & Syracuse areas all need an overhaul. I believe theres going to be a huge debacle when the NYS medical board is held accountable for their actions

Becky Silverberg No one tells you anything!! It’s like everyone is on Jamaica time but they don’t tell you why. Why should bloodwork and CT scan take 4 hours with 2 conversations. Hello hello is anyone coming back here to take this IV out of my arm???? I understand they have to triage and continually. But noooooo one tells you anything. You are starving. They won’t let you get any basic thing to eat. Freaking 6 hours nurse munching away at station and I remind and ask again- can’t eat. My issue is not blood sugar. Why not food, let me go get it!“ hey would you like some water, ? No not even cared about. This place is a hell hole. They clock you in. Do something quick with you, and then you are forgotten trash.

Lynn Siegel My dad had surgery at Sisters of Charity Hospital in July 2024. There is no free parking so it cost me $5/day for a week. The hospital has a Tim Hortons inside so that was nice. You need to check in with Security to go anywhere. They were very pleasant and I enjoyed talking to them. They were very helpful and had maps ready to go if you needed one. The day of my fathers surgery we needed to check him in at the Kiosk. We found it fairly easy. I liked that you could sign up for text messages that gave updates on the patients status. Pre-op check in was very easy to find and the ladies were very nice. I was given a free parking voucher for that day and also a card with a patient number to track my dad. They had a TV screen with patient numbers and it told you where the patients were or what they were doing, like waking up. I really liked the communication. The entire OR experience was excellent; from pre-op to post-op. Thats where it ends. Once my father was placed in his room, it went down hill. The rooms are freezing cold. We ended up staying a week and it was a constant struggle with the nursing and nursing assistants. We had 2 really great nurses and 2 excellent assistants out of all the shifts in a week. Extremely happy when he was able to leave. On a good note, the food was excellent!

Joker 66 I was in this emergency room for a case of sciatica, it was the worst pain that I had ever experienced so I was a bit agitated already. I could see the medical staff in the emergency room from my cell door and it seemed that they were all just standing around talking. I just stuck my head out and asked for some assistance because I was in so much pain. I apparently made a nurse feel like I was a threat. They sent in a big muscular person in an attempt at an intimidation factor and when he saw that this was not going to work the doctor came in and didnt do the proper testing nor give me the proper medication for my symptoms. I was discharged and not feeling any relief from my symptoms, I crawled out of the hospital on my hands and knees, still not able to walk and layed on the front lawn of the hospital and waited for my ride. I just wanted some medical attention and was treated like an animal who just didnt matter. I have not and will never return to this hospital.

My Dad suffers from end-stage Alzheimers and requires extra care, since hes confused. They are always kind and compassionate. They always make sure we feel comfortable leaving him in their care. Adline Sarpong Kenmore has been the absolute worst emergency room experience I’ve had in my entire life. I came to the hospital around 1:30pm, sat in the waiting room for over 6.5 hours. When I finally got called back into a room at 8pm, I sat there for another 3 hours without being treated or tended to. I felt so neglected, it wasn’t until I raged with fury that someone came to somewhat support. Don’t ever bother going to Kenmore Mercy. This hospital should be ashamed of the horrible treatment patient care they are providing.

Dr. Jose was incredibly thorough, taking the time to explain everything that happened to her and what treatments she was receiving. Day nurse Amber showed great attentiveness and care towards my grandma. And Nurse Emily is truly godsend. She was so attentive, wiping my grandmas feet and applying lotion, putting extra pillows under her arms for comfort, and providing a reclining chair for visitors to stay comfortably. Nurse Emily’s kindness extended to sharing laughter and jokes to ease the tension, which made my grandma smile—a moment that made my day. Thank you, Dr. Jose, Nurse Amber, and especially Nurse Emily, for your exceptional care and compassion. January 9, 2025

Jaelynn Warriner This is long awaited, but this hospital really needs to train their staff on compassion. In 2022, I came in looking for an emergency STD screening. The doctor on my case proceeded to ask why I was getting a std screening and repeatedly questioned me until I admitted I had unprotected intercourse. When I then said I was scared I caught something he raised his voice at me, scoffed and said “well you should be!” What he didn’t know is that I was a r@pe victim, and I had told no one at that point what had happened. I was just turned 19, had no support system, and was scared to death. All I wanted to do is act like it never happened and just make sure I didn’t catch anything. 2 years later I’m married and no longer live in New York, but I still think about this experience weekly. The staff here was usually a hit or miss, but honestly recently I’ve heard some pretty telling stories about the staff there recently. And it’s just proven they don’t really care about the patients half the time, they just care about their own biases. No one should be questioned about their private life, judged, yelled at. This was degrading, humiliating and awful.

andrea claire This is in regard to your ER! The quote was “no body here cares” - that is your reputation — Your job is to take care of the sick not line the pockets of the CEOs!!!! They need to budget 4 more doctors and 10 nurses onto their staff! Everyone making over 500,000 a year can take a pay cut and make room and hire providers to take care of our community. What an outlandish shame to keep people who are sick waiting 9 hours in the waiting room!!!!! Disgraceful!

The only reason I came back here today is because my urologist works out of here! I hate this hospital!!! They don’t consider patients being lost at all. They’d rather socialize than do their jobs and pay attention to patients! They have terrible parking! I just hate it. I Prefer catholic health facilities. Not to Mention their 1 month ago when I was in their ER, the ER doctor threatened to call the police in me because I asked him for a referral of doctors to follow up with my diagnosis! I complained to administration but their focus was to protect their doctor wrather than do anything about his abusive in-compassionate NEGLIGENT CONDUCT!!

Colin Edenfield People have given Erie County Medical Center a bad rap. I say, you get what you give. I was rolled into their ER about dead. Sure, the wait was long, but they check vitals often and as soon as I started to crash they had me set up with a bed in a quiet room and they did everything they could to bring me back to a point where I could go finish getting healthy on my own. The entire staff was respectful, in kind, and compassionate with the care they provided, including setting up my antibiotics and giving me an all-day bus pass to ensure I wouldn’t have to walk anywhere while I made my way back home. I love these guys. Show them some respect and watch what happens. You won’t regret it.

Sean Ward I would have given this hospital five stars but my recent admission Im dropping it down to two. Late last year I was admitted into unit 7 zone 2 and I had an excellent experience - shout out to nurses Natalie and Josh and Chris for making sure that I got PT it would actually chat with me because I was in a very traumatic state. This time around I was admitted to unit 7:03 which is more like a holding pen waiting for placement. The therapy department is basically turn their nose up happening. I cant walk anymore because of severe deconditioning since I didnt recover from an accident or my legs were partially crushed 5 years ago. All they do is give me painkillers and drugs to suppress nurse simulation - medication instead of therapy with therapy is the treatment I actually mean. My physical condition has deteriorated rapidly if thats even possible. And the night staff here its like a whole different unit from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the night nurses specifically Kiera and Tamika a rude and nasty. Ive heard comments made to me that I dont need medications that Im prescribed I just want pills - specifically opiate painkillers. we have no perspective of what its like being left in this bed for three months so far. The only activity I get is when theyre changing sheets and clean me up in the morning. I wish this hospital would take better care of people like me but some therapy department wont do anything with you if you cant walk. Instead they focus their time on geriatrics who can still walk. When I was evaluated by the physical therapist he just picked up my leg and dropped down in the bed and said I should go to a nursing home. How horrific is that! Im not police for this hospital stay. I feel like Ive been mistreated especially by the night staff for the nurses and a complete snub from the therapy department. The physical therapist know my long-term vet confinement does through a human body but they dont really Care. I do want to make a shout out to Jessica, Ann, and Antoinette nurses on 7-3 that have actually treated me well. If it wasnt for the fact that therapy gave me the brush off I would have given a higher rating here. Ive been here for 3 months now waiting for placement. I came to ECMC after I sign myself out of the worst nursing home in Buffalo - the Humboldt house. That place is not meant for human beings. So thank you to the staff that have actually taken care of me after I escaped a traumatic and unsafe situation. The hospital administration should look at the complaints that have not been lodged against certain nurses than working the night shift here and make staffing decisions. In the hospital administration should also look at the therapy department and investigate why they seem to operate autonomous of the medical team. My doctor has submitted orders for them to do at least range of motion with me which has been completely ignored. Instead of therapy Im taking Dilaudid try to mitigate the excruciating pain I have feeling my muscles decaying.

Cathleen Maass I just had cervical Spine fusion done on my C4-5, 5-6. From the minute I got there i was impressed with their hygiene protocols, making every effort to ensure that the site was clean by washing the site no less than 3 times from when I arrived up until I was wheeled into the OR. Every step of what was going to occur was thoroughly explained to myself and my husband and we were both given opportunity to ask any questions we may have had. I was reassured that my surgeon was highly qualified and experienced and was told by more than one nurse that they would let him work on their own family. I was in the holding area and next thing I knew I was waking up in my room. I was covered with warm blankets and had my family right there with me. I was told that I could order anything I wanted from the menu to be brought up, the service ran from 7am through 7pm. I was hungry but had my fair share of reluctance since I had not had any good experiences with hospital food in the past. I was very pleasantly surprised with the food at Mercy however. Not only is there a wide variety, but everything I tried, I enjoyed. Every nurse and doctor that took care of me was courteous, friendly and helpful. I was there for 2 nights, and never felt like I was an inconvenience when I would push the nurse button. I was frequently checked on, and brought water and ice as well as blankets and extra pillows. When it was time for me to be discharged, it was done quickly and efficiently. I wasnt kept waiting for hours for paperwork or for a doctor to sign off on the release. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Mercy Hospital and if I should ever need to have surgery again, I would gladly go back there, and will recommend them to others as well.

As someone who initially dreaded the idea of giving birth in a hospital and was even considering a car birth to avoid it, I can confidently say that coming to Mercy was the best decision I could have made. From the moment I arrived, overwhelmed and emotional, to the excitement of delivery and the compassionate postpartum care, the midwives, nurses, and doctors were nothing short of amazing. Every single nurse my husband and I interacted with was kind, understanding, and truly exceptional. We couldnt have asked for a better experience. If I could visit my past self I would tell her its not as scary as she thought because the staff really guide you through every step.

Z. A. I went to ER for sever sudden headache while I was driving back to home, ambulance said this hospital have all the equipment for my case and it’s the best choice to treat me though it was very far away from my address. They did 2 CT scan with IV, within few hours, I was begging them to call my family and let me go home. I couldn’t handle a light or sound and they put me next to the reception where the light and people coming and going talking. I was dying literally and all they care to keep me and make benefits out of me. I told them I feel I am going to through up and no one care or listen, instead the put me inside the CT scan and the through up cover my face and everything then they gave me a small towel to clean myself and I woke up in the morning all the sheets full with vomiting and I told them I feel the blanket is wet and the nurse said because I am cold but it’s not and it was obvious to see. My vitals were low at times, yet no one seemed concerned. After 14 hours of waiting, a doctor finally arrived to tell me it was “just a migraine” and sent me home. This experience felt more like a way to run unnecessary tests than to provide actual care. If it truly takes three CT scans, extensive bloodwork, and nearly a full day to diagnose a migraine, then something is seriously wrong with this system. To make matters worse, my kidneys have been hurting for two weeks since the visit, and I wonder if the excessive IV contrast played a role. I hope this reaches someone in authority who values patient dignity and ethical medical care. No one should be treated this way, it wasn’t an ER, it’s a nightmare.

Hannah Mitchell 1 not an ideal circumstance, but the nurse i first encountered treated me like a human and gave me water and a granola bar so shout out to him! After that things went a bit down hill, i had to sleep in what was essentially a cold dorm for most of the night with no updates about whether or when i would be let go. Thankfully I was released around 6:45 am but the whole situation was still very stressful.

Lindsey Phenomenal in every aspect- the counselors, groups, doctors, nurses, front desk ladies and anyone else I’m missing, all provide above average, high quality service. I started out in crisis at this clinic 2 years ago after receiving (equally as wonderful) treatment at the grider clinic. My life has completely transformed and is manageable now, and I have not a single complaint about this clinic in those 2 years.

Chris Heiderich I had one of the worst experiences while I was a client on the mental health floor at the hospital. I was put in a dorm with about 50 other clients. The attending aides there have extremely poor caring attitudes, very neglecting, vulgar language, mentally abusive, seemed like they were only there for their paychecks! The Dr which straight out told me that I didnt have mental health issues when I was going through one of my toughest times of my life! I was diagnosed with PTSD because of the mental health providers at ECMC! There were just so many negative aspects about the mental health ward! I wonder where the some of these so called professional people get their degrees at. I also wonder where they get these aides within the mental health field in the hospital. If I could give the mental health unit 0 stars, I absolutely would but, the lowest rating there is, is one star. Congratulations! They get one star!

Gary no nurse would help me i just sat on the chair for 46 hours. i heard my nurse telling a story and it was very vulgar and inappropriate. i didnt feel safe so i asked to speak to an officer and the nurse said OK but 2 hours later after asking her, she lied and said something different. in my opinion they just steal the insurance money. The one nurse guy with a shaved head to kinda looks like Tom Segura, hes pure evil and will only help women there that he finds attractive. i still feel traumatized from being there it was a horrific experience. Can’t stop having nightmares every single night since being there, i sleep a few hours and wake up covered in sweat every few hours the nightmares are always about the evil nurses at ECMC torturing me and my family. They would of kept me in there much longer if i didnt smash the phone and scream “ i feel unsafe” while crying my eyes out. once transferred to Brylin, i had a good experience and was treated human again. ive been praying non stop to Jesus that he sends those evil ECMC nurses to Hell for eternity. They still have my coat and sneakers but im too scared to even attempt to get them back. i beg you, DO NOT send your loved one here. Go to Brylin they are atleast caring human beings. At ECMC they don’t even try because they know they can’t get fired because of the nursing shortage. They could message me back on this forum but they won’t because they have zero respect for the mentally ill. Its not even that they’re busy its that they simply don’t care.

Erin Ahearn Do not go here if you want to be treated with respect and dignity. I went here for a medication issue and the doctor, Dr.Bakhai, treated me poorly. My experience up to seeing him was relatively pleasant so it’s a shame that everyone else in the clinic is friendly and kind. Upon sitting down with Dr.Bakhai, he immediately began what felt like an interrogation. Again, I understand the boundaries and purpose of an emergent need outpatient clinic, but people should still be treated with respect. There was a student in the room during my appointment and when the doctor started grilling me with questions, I became wildly uncomfortable, anxious, and almost started crying immediately. If people are there for a crisis or a need with medication, they surely should not be treated this poorly. Dr.Bakhai rolled his eyes and laughed upon hearing the medication I am on and have been on for years. I have been a part of behavioral health services both in a professional and personal capacity for roughly 8 years now and I have never been seen by someone who lacks so much basic human decency. An appointment for meds when already in a fragile state should NOT feel like an interrogation and it is NOT trauma informed to make people feel this way. Whether Dr.Bakhai is overworked, underpaid, or just does not enjoy his job is not the fault of the patients he sees, and he should not be treating them as such. I would rather end up in the ED and inpatient treatment than EVER utilize this clinic again in my life. Maybe this clinic should revisit their mission statement, purpose, and do some trainings instead of sending people off worse than they arrived. It is insane to me that an MD, regardless of if they are a psychiatrist or not, would make people feel so awful or demand someone to answer rapid fire questions when they are already feeling so low. Beware if you need to go to this clinic that this may be your experience. It is not the fault of the patient that the doctors only have a short amount of time, they still should not be making people feel so unheard or traumatized. If I could give this clinic a 0/10 I absolutely would.

Albert Testa Went to the Summit location today for a 1:30 appointment. Waiting room was full to the brim with people that had been waiting a long time. Got to the room and was left for over and hour with no sign of seeing the doctor anytime soon. I wish I could say this is isolate but it isn’t. This is the worst run office I’ve ever gone to. The fault is mine for not switching sooner but that will be corrected. The desk staff is disengaged, generally playing on their phone which is ironic since I get get them to answer the office phone whenever I call. Just embarrassing. Thst said Dr Jensen is a rock star but one doctor can’t do it all

Josh Herman Should give me a settlement because of my dead family and my personal childhood injuries being ignored by their staff for a decade of visiting about 8 times in the past. They wanted a diagnosis that didnt match with my PTSD from dead loved ones and my broken neck I had at five years old. I want money from they they suck the can driver even drove away yesterday making me walk six miles to get to a phone and call for a ride in 30° cold with terrible wind.

Angel Huey If I could give zero stars, I would. After reading numerous other reviews about this hospital and its rehab facility, it’s clear that what happened to my father was not an isolated incident & clearly proves that it has happened to counteless families. This place has a history of neglect, and I want to share what happened to my dad so others can see the truth. My father passed away on January 29, 2025, while under the care of this hospital. His death was preventable, and the lack of proper medical attention he received is absolutely unacceptable. They failed to Provide Communication Access for my father, as well. New York State law requires hospitals to provide interpreter services for patients with communication disabilities, yet this hospital blatantly ignored that requirement. My father was Deaf, and rather than ensuring he had proper communication access, the staff did nothing. When I asked why he wasn’t provided an interpreter, I was told, “We don’t provide that kind of service here,” and “We weren’t aware that he was Deaf until you got here.” That was a lie—his medical records clearly stated that he was Deaf, and there was even a note taped to the wall. Instead of accommodating him properly, they isolated him. They attempted to use a dry-erase board to communicate, despite the fact that he could barely move his hands. A nurse became visibly frustrated with him when he couldn’t respond quickly enough, treating him with disrespect and impatience instead of the care and understanding he deserved. When I arrived, I was horrified by my father’s condition. He was nothing but skin and bones—a shocking difference from how he looked just weeks earlier. I immediately asked why he was so malnourished, but nothing the hospital told me made sense. My father kept telling me he was hungry and that he felt ignored and neglected. If they had been properly feeding him, he wouldn’t have looked the way he did. That’s when I learned what had actually been happening. His feeding tube had been leaking for days ( who knows how long prior) and the staff failed to check why. When two new nurses finally examined him, they discovered that the tube had been completely out of his body, just lying on his chest, covered in buildup. It had not been cleaned or replaced in days. It proves that this has been a repeated cycle & the start of why he was getting these infections in the first place. He ultimately died from starvation and infections caused by improper feeding tube care. A nurse admitted to me that they knew what needed to be done but never did it. Another nurse told me that the only way to help him was to move him to a percussion bed to clear the buildup in his chest—but they never did that either. Stated that if she mentioned it, she could lose her job & to keep pushing till he received one. Clearly my efforts meant nothing. This Hospital Failed My Father. The lack of care, neglect, and outright failure to follow medical standards at this hospital directly led to my father’s death. He did not have to die. If the staff had done their jobs—if they had provided proper communication access, monitored his feeding tube, and taken his condition seriously—he would still be alive today. This hospital failed him, and I will never stop speaking out about what happened. What you did is unforgivable, and no family should have to experience this kind of negligence and mistreatment. This facility should not be trusted with anyone’s life. This has been going on long enough.

Kim Munoz The nurses and doctors on the ICU floor were so amazing to my brother and took such good care of him. When he got there he was in bad shape and the whole ICU team stepped up and took care of him. I can not thank them enough and my family and myself can’t thank them enough. I am forever grateful to this hospital.

Janelle Great people but dirty facilities. Emergency Room (ER): Intake was fast and care was provided in a timely matter. Staff was well educated and informed. They communicated clearly with patient. The level of care provided was fantastic and they do a great job of prioritizing cases and making sure you are being cared for even if you are a lower priority due to severity of injury/illness. On the other hand, the place is dirty. On multiple occasions, Ive noticed that the patient rooms in the ER have filthy floors. I would expect them to be much better cleaned. Some floors look like they havent been cared for in weeks. Other hospitals in the area are immaculate. NFMMC is not. Its gross. Hospital: The staff are caring and communicate well with patients and their families. They seem to care and I feel that the care is above average. Again, the cleanliness of the facility leaves much to be desired. Also, it is in dire need of updating. Rooms have 15+ year old wallpaper. Why not spend a little and give them a fresh coat of paint and get rid of the time warp? Also, the floors are dirty. Not as bad as the ER but they definitely leave a bit to be desired. If Im in a hospital, I expect cleanliness to prevent the spread of infection and disease. That includes the floors.

Coll R Unfortunately the experience there with my mom was awful. I want to clarify that this does not have to do with the hard-working nurses. Its the system that needs a great deal of work. There seems to be a huge lack of communication between, the patient, medical professionals, departments, and scheduling. Three procedures were done and not once did anyone know the time. Staff would come to the room not knowing where the patient was. They should just be able to simply look at a chart or a calendar and see what is going on so precious time is not wasted. I think the long long waits would be tolerated better with some information and simple communication. Nothing seems to be properly documented and she was brought down for something she already had done the day before rather than the procedure she was supposed to have, and two other times they had the wrong site noted to do the procedures. Nothing was communicated to the patient and nothing is done over the weekend and definitely not over the holiday. To be admitted for four days and not have any straight answers is more than frustrating. There was an enormous amount of waste, rather than doing a procedure precious amounts of blood were given instead. With the resources that the hospital has, it shouldnt take so long to have anything done and get the results and communicate them to the patient. This hospital needs help with their processes to run leaner and smoother in my opinion.

Julia E If you can help it, I would say to avoid going to Buffalo General at all costs. While there are staff there who are genuinely kind and competent, our overall experience was absolutely horrible. The biggest issue is the complete and utter lack of communication anywhere in the whole hospital. I wont go into all of the details of our experience, but basically, my mother-in-law had her cancer surgery rescheduled at the last minute (as in, in the hospital waiting to go) TWICE. The second time was because two of the doctors had not communicated. How a hospital can have a surgery scheduled and the doctors not communicate about it is beyond me... Furthermore, this was not communicated to my father-in-law, who sat in the waiting room for hours. After she did have her surgery, we were called to come up immediately, as she was not doing well. The hospital was well aware that we needed about 2 hours to be notified and get up there, yet when they called and said come up, shes not doing well, nobody mentioned that there are no visiting hours from 7-8 (when we arrived). Or that visiting hours would end at 10 and we would be kicked out. Having just been in another hospital, where we stayed overnight with my father-in-law, we were not expecting to be kicked out when we had been called up because of her condition. There were plenty of other issues that came up, mostly due to the lack of communication, but this gives you the basic idea of our experience. Again, there were some very good people working there, but the hospital overall I can NOT recommend.

Ted Pitera Another bad experience at Buff Gen Emergency. Six plus hour wait so far. The waiting room is uncomfortable and dirty. Six hours in and no custodial visit to waiting or the restrooms. Staff is cranky to downright nasty. I’ve seen four couples leave after waiting for no help forthcoming from the staff. Same experience as last time except we haven’t seen a “provider” yet. Last time the emergency dr diagnosed a chronic serious condition as gerd. This an add/edit: shortly after posting my review a pair of porters went into the restrooms. After there is still urine on the toilet seat and one of two paper towel dispensers remains empty. But, a paper towel was picked up from the floor. Not long after the medical assistant conducted attendance to see who was still left waiting. The crowd has thinned more. All should know that the Emergency reception desk staff told me that six hours is nothing as far as wait times go. One said 14 hours is not uncommon.

Melissa Kamper The first time I went here they told me I had a uti. Well turns out my urologist found out I didn’t have one 2 days later. The hospital failed to call me, so I was back at square 1 not knowing what was causing my symptoms. I waited 2 hours for someone to see me in my room once I was called and was there for 12 hours just to not know what was wrong! The next time, I’ve been here for 8 hours so far and have only gotten blood work and an ekg! This is unacceptable as I am in pain! They make you sit in the waiting room not knowing anything, which is ridiculous! Do not come here to the er at all costs as they don’t care and don’t know what they’re doing!

Jason Z This place is awful. I came in at 6pm on Saturday with super bad headache and dizziness to a point where I could not walk.I told the administration that I need to rest my head back and thats the only way I could get relief. They said someone one see me soon. After 1hr I was in the worst pain ever and ask again.I got a response of shouldnt be much longer. 4 more hours later they call me for blood work and urine test. Finally at the 6th hour with more bitching and only a few others waiting I got a room. I ask for a MRI since I just got a cat scan Monday The nurse came in and give me some Baby aspirin and hook me up for blood pressure and viral At the 14th hours finally got the MRI . At the 18th hour had some brain doctor go over a few things and said my dizziness and headache are not causing bye y brain..The whole time Im in serious pain and have a iv in me with a aram and I cant leave and they said they cant take it out also I was promised many times that I could go and smoke...but I had no wheels chair and finally at hour 24 being in a shoe box room that smells like my urine and a lot of bitching I got my release papers they did not feed me anything and the only thing I could get was Gatorade at the end.Stay away from this place its nothing more then college students They also thought I was faking my symptoms

Katheryn Pratt I went here in 2015, The staff are horribly abusive, They forced me to stay on the "boy side" after another patient suffering psychosis choked me. They manipulated and lied to my legal guardian forcing me to move in with my abuser. They falsely diagnosed me and put me on medications that did more harm then good, Use physical and chemical restraints and the staff bully patients like its a game. Also they weaponize "privileges" to make you more compliant. I have PTSD from my time here and you should not send your child here.

Katrina Mount I was looking at others reviews and clearly I can see this place has not changed a bit . I was in there back in 2007 and the rooms were just as bad as they are now you may as well been thrown in a jail cell. I remember anytime I was just having a bad day whether emotional or whatever not even any aggression the staff would grab me up and gave me an injection of something In my arm to calm me down and would send me to my room all day. I got put on assault alerts multiple times just for accidents one time we were somewhere and a kid tripped over me and got hurt and had to get medical attention for a bloody nose and because of that I got put on assault alerts I had to learn to master eating salad with a spoon. The staff used to always try and find a way to get under your skin just to put you on some kind of alert . I was there for 3 months and while I was there my cat that meant everything to me died and that took a toll on me and because I was upset they immediately put me on a suicide watch and self harm alert. They are not there to help they want to break you to your core. I would never recommend anyone sending their children there!

Yuri / Bones Okay okay so I spent about 5 1/2 months here through our spring till the end of school break. It was really hard for me to adjust due to the very strict and humiliating rules. It was even harder not being able to see my family. I was allowed only 1 visitor to see once a week. I was allowed less than 15 minutes a call every day that the staff would sometimes tell me I couldnt call because its too late even tho they make a list of people going first than last. The rooms are horrible. Gross dirty, full of bugs, and overall smell pretty bad. I could barely sleep due to the staff yelling and talking extremely loud. They would let people stay up all night screaming (like on the top of their lungs.) Staff are pretty rude and some male staff are really creepy. You would get into trouble for even playing with Barbies and dolls. The one good thing that came out of the many months I had their was them getting me an official autism diagnosis.

Maddie C I would give negative stars to this place. I was admitted here 3 separate times 5-6 years ago adding up to 10 months altogether. They start with a sit down and tour with pamphlets with how therapeutic it is with the pool, and the sappy speech about how it is such a great place to get better with a structured, positive atmosphere. The first thing that is wrong is the neglect of basic human rights. One of the many examples was I was getting raging UTIs all the time from the lack of cleanliness in the entire facility. I did not raise my hand to ask for one of the 3-4 staff members including my nurse and therapist who were chatting near the bathroom to please open it so I can go and I was told "raise my hand" and that ultimately ended up with me having an accident and then getting into trouble for having the accident to begin with. Many neurodivergent children and teens have issues with food whether its texture or taste or both, etc. I have seen plenty of times where other teens on 805 including myself asked for a diet change to receive food I actually wouldnt mind eating (note: most of the food was intolerable) so there were plenty of times I could not get myself to eat and would not be able to eat all day until snack time even tho we were forced to portion out snacks even if we brought our own snacks from home. Obviously it is not a fib since many of these reviews STILL are referring to staff as "Mr" and "Mrs" when they enforced a point system that gave level 3s the right to sit on a couch. We all walked in straight lines and were not allowed to speak to other patients about anything they deemed "triggering" which included but was not limited to: dx, past traumas, past hospitalizations, symptoms, how we were feeling. If we were caught speaking about these things we would get into trouble and have a "positive Correction" which basically meant that at card review, you would have to discuss with staff about what you did wrong and how you can change for the future. Patients who want to discuss should be able to in an appropriate manner I certainly understand how speaking on extremely graphic or non negotiable language should be kept to a minimum but to basically have to sit there and not be allowed to talk and have some form of normal interaction for 3-4 months at a time is not right. We will do it anyway im sure thats not a hard concept to professionals in psychology...its useless rules. If your child is going here for the 2nd time in 1 year or even 2, unless there has been some major update to how children are being "educated" in this facility I have news for you. They have a teacher who will get all the paperwork and homework from the home district and give it to your child and wish them the best of luck and any questions I had were not answered and the teachers I had were clueless. Days in class were spent reading books and having vague discussions that they would count as english credit. In between we would go to RT/OT and lunch. Other than that I spent the remaining 4 ish hours staring at paperwork I either sat in frustration unable to teach myself everything or doodling or just sitting. As stated previously I spent 10 months in this facility in a short amount of time and I was high honors student, smart, etc and I fell so behind that I gave up thinking I was just becoming stupid but truth is I had no education at WNYCPC for 10 months and any of the other placements I was at and thats what is wrong with this system. You place kids in these systems for years and years with staff and doctors who cant just do their job and listen without a big ego getting in the way. A system where parents feel they have no other choice in order to get the child help or to stay safe and they receive little to no education even in 3 months there or 10. There are literally no places in WNY where a child can get sufficient help AND proper education. WNY does not have a good enough system for kids who are in and out of facilities for over 5 years like I was. NYS do better.

sterling marceau UPDATE SINCE THEY REPLIED: The owner replied to my review, which is great. Glad they are observing them. Manager called me a day after. The conversation didnt go as expected. They apologized for my issue, then promptly asked how I would like my records transferred to the new provider. Clearly its not about servicing the patient. They stated the doctors make their own schedule and that is why I had to wait 3.5 hours to be told they couldnt fit me in. The nurse/phone operator could not decide if I could be seen or not. I wasnt sure about this, but if that is the case, the person Ive never met decided they couldnt fit me in. Very concerning to say the least when it comes to ones medical health. Been with the practice for quite a few years. The office is always so clean and I never have an office wait when I arrive for an appointment. This is completely offset by the fact that Im not allowed to ask drawn out questions during my visit. Multiple times Ive come in for a visit and Ive asked questions about something specific and Ive been told I need to make another appointment because they are only allowed so much time for visits. Ive never seen the actual doctor, only the PA. I honestly dont know if that matters, but Im told my primary is one person, who Ive never met. Im being told by different sources that it isnt supposed to happen. My most recent issue with the practice is when I called because I was sick, and asked if I could fit in for a visit or if I should go to a walk in care facility. They asked my symptoms and told me a nurse would reach out. 2 hours later I went to a walk in cafe facility. Then 1.5 hours later, when being discharged they called me to tell me they couldnt fit me in and to seek other help. I dont understand why they didnt tell me right when I called they couldnt fit me in. Instead of 3.5 hours later. Im glad I didnt wait to seek help. I will most likely be seeking services elsewhere. Its my opinion, but it feels like its just a dollar sign issue.

Mel S Not usually one to post complaints but this is ridiculous. Called first week of February to make an appointment since it had been 2 years. Needed physical and other stuff I had been out of the area In that time and was finally back. They called me back today 60 days later to follow up and attempt to schedule. They called 3 minutes before they are listed as closed so I couldn’t call them back. I’m taking this as a sign to find a new provider… ridiculous. Finally found out this week as well my provider left their practice while I was gone as well. No notice. No mail. Appreciate it.

Nicole Q Getting anything out of this practice is like pulling teeth. I’m seeing a dietian and she sent over a request for blood work to my doctor. Close to 2 weeks after, still no word so I gave them a call. Whoever I spoke to said it looks like the request was viewed but nothing was ever done with it so she said she would have someone call me back. The next day I get a call saying that the doctor (not even my own doctor?) denied the request because I am “young and healthy” and don’t need any more blood work this year. Even though I’ve been suffering with symptoms for as long as I can remember. And this isn’t the first time they’ve denied my blood work. They refused to check my b12 level and D level in the past saying they “don’t recommend people having those checked” ???? How do they even have a right to deny me something for MY health? That I’m willing to pay for!

Meegan Panzarella Please take the time to read Dr Leos reviews. I wish we had. My grandmother was a patient of Dr Leo for severe depression. We watched her decline over the period of a year under his care. My grandmother contacted him multiple times when she was feeling very depressed and anxious, explaining she was not doing well and needed help. His comment was, "There is no pill for loneliness", and made no changes in her medication. (This was documented in his records also that he told her this). She was humiliated and felt more anxious and helpless. She had even called 911 twice for help. Her daughter was in psychiatry for 30 years (retired) and reached out to Dr Leo regarding her symptoms and concerns. She explained she stopped taking care of herself, wasn’t eating and lost 20 pounds and was sleeping all the time. As she continued to worsen, her daughter again called and emailed Dr Leo. Being a doctor, I contacted him next, expressing my concerns and asking why he had not responded to the calls and emails from her daughter. He was cocky and rude and said he was not going to have another practitioner recommend care and that he was refusing to respond to her at all. He was very hostile during our conversation. When I asked if he could prescribe something to help her, he refused to discuss her care any further. He said he had her daughter calling and now me, and refused to discuss her care further. He said, he "does not want to deal with family calling". He said, he "keeps his client case level small and not complicated" and said, "he is not willing to deal with this". We received a letter in the mail that he fired her as a patient. We have now obtained her medical records and he did not document any of our conversations, nor did he include her daughters three emails and phone calls in his medical record (poor documentation and not practicing at the standard of care per the APA). I took the time to write this review because I never want anyone to go through what we did. Dr Leo lacks character, compassion and did not demonstrate any passion or caring for the resolution of someone suffering from mental illness. He is narcissistic and cocky and was threatened by collaboration and outside concern and input. Please do not make the same mistake we did at the cost of our grandmothers mental health.

Rachel Meyer I went to ECMC in regards to my mental state. Dr. Raphael J. Leo was the psychiatrist that I saw and he also had a couple students with him. All three of them questioned me and I explained my situation. Afterwards, Dr. Leo was in the hallway with his med students and all three of them proceeded to make fun of me and my current state. I would not recommend him as a psychiatrist as he clearly is not sensitive to those with mental health issues.

gemini K Left a voicemail on this doctors # while in search of new medication management. He calls me back and after mumbling where he was from I asked him to repeat. When I asked a second time he paused and stated that perhaps I should call back once I’ve spoken to the other doctors I’ve contacted... then he hung up. Weirdly passive aggressive, antagonizing, and unprofessional. By hanging up abruptly he took things to an emotional level, it frustrated me but it left me perplexed. I’ve never had a doctor hang up on me and I’m not a rude or insistent person. Today is my day off and his call woke me out of a nap... I simply didn’t hear where he was from and was in bed away from the living room with the documents with my notes on the doctors I’ve contacted. Regardless, very unprofessional.

Daneen Ive been seeing Dr. Leo for over a year. He is a kind, sensitive and intelligent individual. He listens attentively and, unlike other doctors, he provides input and offers logical advice. It has helped me manage my stress, set boundaries and understanding myself in order to make better life choices. I highly recommend Dr. Leo.

Maund Anthony (Tony) If it were possible, I would not even give this place one star. I went in with confusion, high blood pressure, and couldnt even tell them where I was, but they let me leave and drive home. Thankfully I had someone driving me home in my car. Im still suffering. Theyre was something weird on my EKG which the Dr never stood to explain what it meant. They accused me of drug seeking as they were reading my negative toxic screen and had records of almost 5 years with clean toxes. This ER could kill you by the lack of medical treatment and they dont even care about the people they are treating. I waited weeks to make this review so I could better explain how they almost let me die then sent me home. This is not a good hospital and far from a safe space. I literally will never reach out to another medical facility again, even if I die as a result. Im still sick and cannot eat. This was the major issue I had brought up. Its been almost a month and I am only consuming meal shakes. I was in mental health distress and am still there. Id rather die than ever go back to any Buffalo hospital, Mercy Hospital is next up because they let me also drive home without me even knowing where I was at. NO ONE WITH HALF A BRAIN GOES TO THE HOSPITAL TO DRUG SEEK, THEY DONT HAVE ANYTHING NEAR AS STRING AS I CAN FIND ON THE STREETS, I NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION, NOT TO BE TREATED POORLY.

Catherine Breen My husband waited for 8.5 hours after being told by his doctor to go to ECMC and wait it out. I called the staff (because no one was at the desk and talked to Kaitlyn, his PA called the ER several time explaining the situation and after 8.5 hours, he wasnt triaged so we left to go to Mercy. There were people, listening to their devices with volume turned up. Some were walking in stocking feet, pants around their ankles, talking to themselves and arguing on the phone. Two security guards were spread out in easy chairs, not moving and no one was at the desk. It was like an unsupervised asylum. Disgusting.

Seth Edwards Waited 5 hours to be scene at the emergency room, eventually left and went to another hospital. Staff was cold and uncaring. At least telll me that what th3 expected wait time is so I can make decision if seeking help somewhere else is my best option.

D T Brought my son in for a foot injury at 4pm on a Saturday. They immediately did an X-ray which seemed promising. But it took Ortho dept until 9pm to review it. They did a splint and said they wanted a CT scan. We waited until 330am for the CT and its literally 7am and we are still sitting here waiting for the results. Nowhere for me sit except a folding chair. This has been the worst ER experience ever. For kids under 21 go to Childrens. Had we known they had an Ortho available in their ER, we would have went there. We were told he would need to follow up with a pediatric orthopedic anyway.

Kansas Ceasr If I could give negative stars I would..but Google wont allow this. . I checked in 3:39pm on a Monday, waiting room was packed, but I was told it was going fast .. and the wait wouldnt be super long.. Well thats a lie! Waited.... 2hrs in and I got my vitals checked and talked to a triage nurse.. was told by her they were trying to hurry along people, and get people moving into rooms... Well this is a lie. 2 more hours waiting in a waiting room..several people come after me, are seen almost immediately. One guy who got hit by a car, was seen and rushed right away! Due to him having connections to a nurse/Dr who worked there... One more hour passed. Got my vitals checked a 2nd time.. Ok By this time Im done waiting, tired, and freaking hungry.. But by this time, the waiting room is PACKED! So you get up you basically lose your seat.. Several people in there are homeless just taking up a spot, some people are on drugs talking to themselves, there was a fight both inside the building as well as our front.. If you want to see a zoo..come to ECMC. Where is there is long waits, huge lines, and you never get called on.. Worst hospital ever! Shame to cause the nurses seemed like they cared, when I walked in. Obviously I am wrong.

Tashnemara Upama What a joke this hospital is. Horrible experience. I’ve been waiting in the emergency with my dad since 5 o’clock. So 8 hours. When i asked staff nicely, they reply saying someone is waiting for 13 hours proudly. What a joke? How is this even a emergency room? Never had an experience like this! Unacceptable. People will die out here just waiting to be seen by the doctor. Update: we waited 10 hours and ended up leaving without seeing doctor.

Yvonne Emke Went to ED in severe pain for appendicitis evaluation. After hours trying to be seen by ANYBODY (we never left the waiting room) the staff then misdiagnosed me by saying I had a blood clot in my leg--which was totally not accurate. After 14 hours and constant nasty attitudes by the staff, I finally got discharged. No diagnosis for abdominal pain. No care to relieve these symptoms. As an RN for the last 30 years, I have never seen or been a part of such a horrible lack of care. Will never return to such a negative environment. Think twice before going to this so called ED.

Rick Kelchlin Very bad emergency room took wife in there. She’s been in the waiting room for 24 hours. Seems like they take care of the homeless and the drug addicts.

Sarah Sprague If I could pay to leave zero or negative stars, I would do it. They refused any form of pain relief, including ibuprofen and water. 16 hours of laying in a bed by the ambulance bay. I begged for water. For help. To go to the bathroom. I begged for answers so I could possibly get out of that wretched place. But no one came. No help. I had a bed next to a wall with no call light. No outlets.. nothing. The only reason I got out of there was because my significant other came and saved me. They had forgotten that I was there. Proven by them repeatedly trying to give my bed away to other patients. I was then gaslighted by the dr when I was finally able to meet her. She told me I had no reason to be there, despite my bloodwork and imaging suggesting otherwise. Once I pulled up my test results she said. Yes there are abnormalities. But she couldn’t do anything about it now because I’m discharged.

Gerald Gorecki I would rate it zero if that was an option. This emergency room is an absolute joke!!! I took my wife there because she had symptoms of a stroke or neurological issue. The staff did nothing to address the reason why we came in at all. We sat in a waiting room for 10+ hours. The staff never checked her, ran a couple of tests, only after I told them I was going to take her somewhere else, which was 8.5hrs into this visit, then sent her home with release forms that weren’t even filled out properly. While on our super awesome day at the hospital, we witnessed so many other individuals in obvious pain just shoved in a corner and also ignored for hours on end. They don’t even take people back in a room to get seen most of the time. At one point we witnessed a doctor coming out to check a gentleman’s lower extremities in the middle of the waiting room. If that’s not enough, they gave my wife a cat scan, then afterwards, they gave her a urine cup, also in the middle of the waiting room, made her keep the cup in her pocket for 15 minutes, then came to collect the cup.. the biggest problem with that is that they didn’t even do a pregnancy test on her until after they shoved her in a tube(which they didn’t even scan her whole head)!!!!! This place is worse than a 3rd world meat factory. If you have the ability to go to ANY of the surrounding hospitals, DO IT! This place should be shut down and the staff should all find a new career! Never again!

Miggie Jean A year ago, Dr. Schifeling came highly recommended by one of my specialist but the receptionist said he does not really see patients. I got a young Asian doctor (can’t remember his name) but he was an awful physician. I have multiple sclerosis and was just came off heavy steroids a few months earlier so I was concerned about the excess weight. He dismissed my concerns and basically insinuated that I must be overeating and that’s the only reason I’m fat. He gave me literature on how to not overeat—for context, I am a pescatarian who is a picky eater and under calories. My dear neurologist was the one who found that my thyroid is extremely enlarged. I called the primary care to set up an appointment and spoke to the disgusting excuse for a receptionist. She yelled at me “what is the emergency” when I told her I couldn’t wait months for an appointment. It’s been over a year and I won’t go back to this office.

The Elegant Brain This is a hit or miss type of clinic. Some interns are great while others shouldnt be allowed to practice. The receptionists are by nature extremely rude, with rate exception.

Trippy Savv The way they treat people here is disgusting!! You can ask basically anybody who has been to ecmc and theyll all tell you how horrible it is. Treated my mother horrible after her surgery and discharged her under an hour from getting out of surgery despite it being a major life changing surgery. They told me theyd update me when she was out of surgery and they didnt!!! I was waiting in the waiting room for hours with nobody telling me what was going and then to find out they made horrible comments to my mother! UNREAL save yourself the energy and go to a different hospital. Sadly her surgeon operated out of ecmc only.

CodyFern Fan ECMCs psychiatric emergency room and inpatient facilities, in my experience, consist of atrocious wait times and a malicious attitude toward patients on the part of many employees/nurses/doctors. The treatment was exceptionally unacceptable at *CPEP*, the centers Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. This program is a highly unhealthy and ridiculously overwhelmed facility to which “at risk” mental health patients are sent, often against their own wishes, without access to the internet, their phones, or many basic needs until they are officially sent. to an inpatient psychiatric ward. It was many hours before a psychiatric doctor saw me on CPEP (at least 27 hours, if I counted correctly), and I had to stay there for several days longer than I should have (they profusely say that “there are no beds available upstairs” ) in an extremely unhygienic and discriminatory environment. The bathrooms *regularly ran out of soap*, and there were *unnecessary restrictions* like complicated plumbing to get your daily or as-needed (PRN) medication, a Band-Aid, a days-old, soaked san, with no one required to wear a mask, and no one is quickly seen by a board-certified doctor. The staff did not provide me with an ADA shower until I had been at ECMC for 7 full days, even though my PCP ordered the accommodation to help me recover from my chipped fibula. I did not receive my prescriptions and the treatment I needed for my disability in a fair, efficient, or reasonable manner. Their medical evaluation and treatment processes, both in my observations and those of other patients, consist of downplaying various findings and aspects of ones behavior and personality and exaggerating certain personal or medical details. Discriminatory treatment based on sex, age, and disability status was widespread, including inappropriate behavior by many staff members and frequent use of name-calling and inconsiderate word choices. These complaints do not apply to all staff members; In fact, many of the nurses and social workers, especially in inpatient facilities, were genuinely sincere, helpful, incredible human beings, but virtually every valid point and unacceptable issue that was brought to someones attention was blamed for them. ECMC was “understaffed.” However, I sure would love to know what the medical director/director/CEO or whoever is in charge of the net worth of this institution is… ECMC has many exceptional professionals, nurses and doctors, BUT it appears that the hospital mental health sector remains the lowest priority on ECMCs radar, and very few resources are actually allocated to the programs they advertise. If anyone is struggling with mental health, I highly recommend visiting their PCP (Primary Care Doctor)*, seeing a counselor (from centers like BestSelf) they trust, visiting a different immediate care center like WellNow, or visiting BPC or BryLin*, contact *Buffalos Mental Health PEERS Connection* (which provides free transportation to and from the center) or by calling 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Line. I think they are finally starting to pay attention to the concerns of many mental health patients as a result of the firestorm of recent controversies and complaints, but I still *wouldnt recommend ECMC to my worst enemy anytime soon*.
