Sweet Serenity Oh my GOODNESS!!!!Ayanna is such a blessing!!! She was so patient with me and she took the time to really fix my hair. Im always going to come back for my retwist, and Im SUPER EXCITED. I highly recommend her. You will NOT be disappointed. I promise you!!! I love this girl. Great service, very professional. And her heart is really into what she does. She loves what she does and she loves people too. Thank you God for Ayanna!!!

Bernice G. Very bad experience. She doesnt comprehend the care of authentic, NATURAL hair that doesnt include any weaves, locs or extensions. I do not recommend this salon if you have natural hair and dont wish to look jacked up and have to start over your natural hair journey with another big chop...!

cheyenne cortes I would give this place zero stars, but that’s not an option… I went into the salon, asking the stylist if she can do My hair like the picture I showed her she told me yes afterwards I had informed her that I already had box dye on my hair from over a year ago and then she continues to tell me she was able to get my hair like the picture I showed her I asked for a full head of highlights, and I came out the salon with my hair almost looking the same as when I came in. Overall, the hair trim I got was choppy and She did not give me the highlights I want they are Chunky… The price was $210.. the manager insisted i pay full price for an incomplete service while I showed my dissatisfaction for my hair he still insisted I pay full price for my hair after I got a choppy hair cut, chunky highlights with uneven color, and with my hair only blown out and not straightened. Even though during our conversation he had mentioned that if I already had a box on my hair, the hair style I wanted to achieve was not possible. He still insisted for me to pay $210 after he admitted my hair should not have been worked on definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and the middle aged manager with glasses and gray hair(male) did not keep his composure at all he definitely made the whole issue worse he did not act like a managerial figure. DO NOT GO HERE

Rebecca Adams They left my daughter crying and bleeding after almost ripping out her piercing with the comb. The owner refused to even apologize, just said his staff were trained. Never did get the haircut done, we walked out.

Maureen Johnson Had my haircut again today by Lulli . She never disappoints! I love short hair and love to change the styles. I’ve brought in pictures of what I’d like and she could duplicate it. Sometimes I just trust her judgement and love what she’s done. Prior to finding her, it was hard to find someone who didn’t give me a man’s haircut. So, I highly recommend her, she’s great!!!!!

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food. Ive gotten a few good haircuts here over the years, others not so great (seeming lack of experience w/ mens fades). I also like that the Galleria bus stop is now situated near here; reduces crowds at the food court. Naturally, I also like the exterior artwork.

Jenna Williams I absolutely love the way Hannah cuts my hair! She always gives me the perfect angle I want, and it looks amazing every time I go! I even bring my son in to get his hair cut by her, as sometimes a barber will take too much off when we want to grow it longer. She is so sweet and fun to chat with while she’s making me look and feel fabulous. And cuts at CC are super affordable too! Definitely go see Hannah for your next cut or color! You won’t be disappointed!

Niko Konan NATURAL HAIR GIRLS BEWARE!! I was natural for over twenty years. I went to this salon for a blowout. They were very nice but kept telling me my hair needed a DEEP conditioner. Welp. I did the DEEP conditioner and got a blowout. It was beautiful. Only when i went to wash my hair it didnt recert back to its curl pattern. Stayed straight and then started to breakoff as it grew out. They had perm in their conditioner. I have terrible breakage around all my edges. Im heartbroken that they did this to me. I now have to start all over again. This place should be shut down what they did was literally criminal.

Tasha Benbow-Harris ASK THE PRICE BEFORE YOU GET IN THE CHAIR!!!!!!! I am taking precious minutes of my life to share about an experience that I recently had with a Poughkeepsie hair salon. I wish this was to talk about the awesome experience that I had but…years ago when this place was called Yahaira’s, I was fairly regular with my wash and sets, so when I was back in need of a good wash and set and a simple cut, it was the obvious choice. On Friday, October 28, I stopped by and asked if I needed an appt and how much a wash and set with a cut was. The woman told me “$35 and up for the wash, $10 and up for the cut.” Two days later I returned. There was nothing unremarkable or remarkable about my experience in the chair, except that the stylist (the same woman who gave me the prices on Friday, made comments about how dry and thin my hair was, in the little English that she seemed to speak. I brushed it off because it was true. All is said and done and I go to check out and she says to me with a straight face, “$80.” It took a moment to process because I thought I heard wrong. I asked again, and she repeated that absolutely ridiculous price to me. I asked what the breakdown was. She said the wash and set was $45 and up and the cut was $25 and up. Forget the fact that she told me completely different (jacked up) prices…what does and up mean? I asked what “I” was paying for. When I told her what she had previously told me as the prices, she smiled, shook her head and said, “no.” I only had a card so I was forced to pay the $80…NO TIP! I left feeling beat down by the audacity, as if I was born yesterday. I don’t even know what to suggest to other potential customers because the experience was so brazen. There was no reason I should have left paying more than $50. They lost a potential long-term customer because of a big con. They should be ashamed of themselves. I plan to Google translate this into Spanish and take it back to the salon so they know that they are going to be put on blast…I work at Poughkeepsie school…I’m telling anyone who will listen. NOT OK!

Jeannette Diaz Im giving one start base on the lack of courtesy. I arrived at the salon I was not greeted. I proceded to let them know that I want a wash and set. I sat there 30 minutes when I was informed that it was going to be more than 30 minutes before anyone attend to me. Then I was encouraged to go to the other location. At that point I realized that they didnt want my business. I jus left and will not be coming back.

Pete Rosado Brought my 4 year old here for a wash & set and to trim her edges. They were extremely nice, patient with my daughter and also priced well. We recently relocated and our town has no Dominican salons whatsoever. This was about 25 minutes away from us and I’m thrilled to have found a place I can rely on nearby.

Amanda Figueiredo I did not like how the owner tried to increase the price and make the other lady pretend she put in a product in my hair when she didn’t. I had a simple wash, rollers and blower. I didn’t put anything else or even flat iron my hair which they try to pressure you into doing. I have been to many Dominican hair stylist. This is by far the worst one.

Dail MT Milena is the BEST at hair care for males as well as females. Unlike many hair salons that operate like a mill, churning out their clients with noisy hasty visits and damaging processing, Melina takes the time to advise you if something you want to do to your hair may cause it damage. She trains her staff to be as polite and courteous as she is herself. Clean and uncluttered space. They go the extra mile to make your visit relaxing and pampered with offers of water tea, donuts, cake and chocolates. They certainly provide an exceptional customer experience every time.

Liv Good I am an African American woman with natural hair. I have never had a perm or a relaxer in my life. I went in to the Melina hair salon for a wash and set. And they put relaxer my hair. All my hair fell out. It’s unfortunate that it is so difficult to trust a person Who is supposed to be a professional to do the right thing. Part of hair styling is hair care. Customers trust a hair stylist to care for their hair, we trust them to consult us, to be honest with us about what they are going to do to our hair and what the expected outcome will be. Not to do what ever is convenient for them. If they can’t do a simple wash and set on natural hair, they should just say that. Moral of the story, Don’t trust your hair to these people at this salon. Especially if your hair is natural. They will sneak relaxer in your hair and cause it to be terribly damaged to the point that it will fall out.

anashalise minaya i naturally have curly hair so when i got my hair done i kept it in a tubi for a whole day, took it out and went outside and got puffy. this has never happened to me and charges way too much. $50 for a blowout is crazy

Cassie Washington I would never go here again! There is one women doing hair. She doesn’t set appointments so everyone is there at same time. There was beer bottles on counter, hair all over the floor, a large dog sleeping on the waiting sofa. I sent my daughter there for a wash and set only! 4 1/2 hours later she was done. End results was good but the wait time, dirtiness was too much for me. I asked someone waiting was this wait normal! She said yes, then the women Wendy chimed in and said I can take my daughter. I would of if she wasn’t sitting with conditioner in her hair while Wendy blow hair. My daughter had a school dance so we tried this place. Absolutely ridiculous on time and courtesy

Chandelle Thomas I went for a wash and set on my natural hair and left with a perm that was snuck into the deep conditioner (that I did not ask for) if my hair was too thick for you then you should’ve sent me in my way. I do not do chemicals and if you don’t stay away!

Kayla Martinez Yep, lost my business. I went there twice before and can understand people complaining about how dirty and unprofessional it is but thought that her skills overshadowed that... But I was fooling myself. First time didnt even get the color right but I liked the color so whatever. Second time, I waited literally 6 hours and couldnt get all I needed done. Left with the job half completed. Third time, I tried getting a dye and was told I was too late for it at 1:00??? Not even a notification on the website about this. Thank God I didnt pay the cab fare to go there. Whats more, they dont care! And they let you know they dont care! They only cater to their regulars, although how do you become a regular with such pisspoor service from the get? Just not worth the headache since my hair wasnt turned into gold for all my struggle. Prices are reasonable in my opinion, hence 2 stars and not 1.
