Victoria T This place has been on my radar for a while and I finally set up my appointment when I saw their big rainbow sign in the window as I drove by the other day. They were able to add me to their schedule last minute and Heather cut my curls to perfection. I feel bouncy and boing-y. Definitely will be back, I’m so happy!

Elena Viscardi Head Spa Scalp & Hair Treatment Review: This is the only service of its kind in Rochester so it was worth every penny. My hair feels healthier and lighter after one session. My frizzy wavy hair now has a more sleek defined curl due to health restoration. Chi Wah is personable, friendly and happy to share her expertise.

Erika Baker Wow wow wow!! Best service Ive ever had done! I had the scalp treatment head spa service done today with Paige and it beat any massage, shampoo, or pamper service Ive ever had. It was not only great for my scalp and treating my specific needs but was almost 2 hours of non stop scalp and head love!! The stress and tension i carry above my shoulders is a lot and this service was pretty much tailored to relieve and rejuvenate that! Paige was so gentle and never rushed one part of the process. Head massage, scalp brushing, scalp mask, exfoliation, shampoo, steam cap for 40 minutes, brushing and I opted for the blow dry after that. I will 100% be booking again and suggest you do as well! Thank you!!

Zhi Yu Chi Wah is an amazing hair stylist, definitely recommend for Asian hair and styles. She is very warm to talk to and holds great conversations as she works on your hair.

stephanie g A year ago I gave a five star review. I had to change this review due to a recent experience. I received an estimate and went in for a consultation before my appointment for highlights. My estimate (which I received via voicemail and email) was for $260. When my service was done and I went to pay, I ended up being charged over $750!! After my Aveda rewards coupon of $75, I paid over $675. At no point was the price increase discussed by Chi Wah or the two women she was training during my service. I can understand an estimate is approximate and not a solid number. However, a bill over $700 without prior discussion is unethical and shocking. I am equally disappointed with the lack of understanding by Chi Wah when I tried to kindly express how concerning the price jump was and never heard back after two attempts. As such, I will not be returning, despite my time there as a client.

Diane Merzbach Ive been going to Jen for almost 20 years and have never had a bad hair cut, color, or style from her. Shes done everything from prom updos, to every shade of color under the sun, to cutting all my hair off to donate. I always recommend her to anyone who is looking for someone new. The salon itself is very clean and well taken care of. They offer other services, which I have yet to try, but have heard great things about as well. I would highly recommend this place!

Pamela Rogers Great salon, just ask for Robert hes the BEST! Easy central location, full services, friendly and accommodating with coffee and water while youre there.

Kate Nguyen The salon is so nice and inviting. I came in and asked for a layered cut and came out with the exact look I wanted. Thanh is a very knowledgeable hairstylist, and so is her colleague.

The salon had a nice, welcoming atmosphere, and I felt comfortable the whole time. I’m really happy with how my hair turned out and will definitely be coming back! Highly recommend!

Cole Maguire As a college student, this place is incredible. She is caring and genuinely wants you to walk out of the door feeling amazing about yourself. On top of having a gentle soul, she is very skilled at what she does and her expertise is out of this world. All in all, a 10/10 haircut accompanied by a memorable experience :)

Bando Ron WORSE PLACE TO EVER BRING A CURLY MIXED CHILD. OR ANYONE WHO WANTS COLOR!! For one my wife booked a color and cut for her and my child (11), she gets there, tells them what she wants and explains that they don’t have enough time.. mind you she called prior explaining what she wanted done for both child and wife. And proceeds to tell them they don’t have enough time because of another client coming, her appointment started at 1, they were running behind, proceeded to text and ask to come 30 minutes later… my wife agrees! & the old lady was nothing but rude and unprofessional. Non accommodating, RUINED MY DAUGHTERS HAIR!!!!! Never going there again. Screams at the top of her lungs when I arrived to pick her up that she’s not a babysitter while she wanted for her mother to get her 30 minutes of a wait just patiently waiting on her tablet polietly & quietly. Screams her salon is closed (but had 5 other clients getting there hair done). Refused to fix the frizz, terrible highlight job, and unevenness. My daughter left in tears!!! Amongst other racial remarks made towards her being half black. -10000/10. WORSE SALON IVE EVERRRRR BEEN TO IN 30 years!!! Disgusting rude staff, unorganized, didn’t ask professional questions prior to their appointments to adequately service and provide enough time for both services. SHE RUINED MY CHILDS HAIR! I’m calling every agency I can to sue for emotional an financial damages Monday morning. Pure trash hair dressers. I will show a before they ruined it and after, the after photos is how they let my baby leave the salon, no gel, no moose no oil, NOTHING!!! Disgusting!!!!

Sarah Ford She did really good and was super friendly and nice. I feel like the price was a bit too high but the quality of the product used was also high so I feel it was worth it. Im not giving it 5 stars because I feel like the hair foils could have been placed in a little bit neater then thay where and I wanted the color to be a bit darker then it was. Overall my hair terned out grate and the service was awesome!!

Marrin Thomas BEWARE.... I met with Kristi for a consultation to get hair extensions after losing my hair the passed two years. I showed her the picture of what I was hoping to achieve. (See photo) My hair was dark brown and a blunt cut just at the shoulders. I ordered 18" wefts through her per her suggestion. The hair that was sent didnt look AT ALL like the hair I was hoping for but this being my first time with extensions and she said she could color them so I trusted her and the process. Instead I looked like a clown with my dark hair and ice blond extensions and no blend whatsoever. (See photo) It wasnt anything like the photo but I was trying to go with it. I asked her to add blond to my hair to at least try to blend into the extensions. The color blended better but the cut did not. She cut over FOUR INCHES off of my $300 extensions. Mutilated my natural hair and it still didnt look good. (See photo) I couldnt wear my hair down, no style could make these look good. Ive been very frustrated that I decided to take the extensions out to find my natural hair completely botched, completely thinned out and uneven. I sent Kristi a message and she called me with such attitude. She literally argued with me for 10 minutes before finally admitting the extensions werent right and admitted she shouldnt have put them in, especially knowing I would need more hair that I wasnt aware of yet. She offered to purchase new extensions for me adding that would be the last thing she would do for free. Two days later she called me to let me know she would NOT be ordering new extensions for me, that she had random pieces of extensions laying around at the salon she would use and place my cut up extensions back in my hair. I explained that wouldnt give me the look I paid for. She told me to go see another stylist. I spent $700!!!!!!! This woman was so unprofessional, rude and unapologetic after destroying my natural hair as well as the hair extensions I paid hundreds for. I gave her multiple chances and suggestions to right her wrongs but she told me she would not do any of that and she doesnt give refunds. You may have good luck with her, be grateful cuz her customer service is astonishing.

Samantha Schubbe Julia is the only hair stylist Ill ever let do my hair! She is so accommodating, sweet, and does an amazing job every single time!

Tiffany Pollard They wont rent to black business owners several people I know including myself who is a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician they wont return email calls and make excuses very sad but not surprised

Greg Walker My hair stylist at Salon Social is Rosemary Stina. She does a wonderful job of styling my hair. She is the best. Oh! And the Rene Futerer products she uses are fabulous.

Mymy Durant When i first went here i got great treatment and a beautiful silk press! Until it was my second time going ! My second time going was very awful ! The lady at the wash bowl was detangling my hair and literally ripped my hair from my scalp ! Then it was time for me to get my hair pressed and blowed ! The lady that blowed my hair rushed through the whole process and burnt my hair ! I asked for my ends to be clipped she rushed through that as well ! As a black woman i can honestly say they don’t know how to work with our hair ! I will never go back i was charged $70 for something that wasn’t even worth 70$ more like $45 ! If you are a black woman with 4c hair like mine please find someone that will take there time on your hair because they rush through the process especially when it’s “busy”

Dedra Williams They are always good and reliable. Their wash and sets are great and they also wash extensions. I usually bring my own bobby pins for them to curl my hair and pin curl it for me to take down later. My curls lasts for days!

Queen Tina No one speaks English, therefore I’m NEVER greeted when I enter this business. The sinks be dirty with hair from the previous customers. All the staff looks so unhappy, always on their phone. Just a salon I wouldn’t go to again or recommend.

Nell They sneak relaxers into the wash! I’ve gone here about 5 times and they usually do a great job but the last time I went I got a younger woman with orange hair and my curl pattern was completely changed after that, the lady walked away while “washing” my hair. This lady put a relaxer in my hair without my permission, my curls were bone straight after this. I will never go here again and advise other women of color not to come here.
