Tere Williams Over quarantine, I did a big chop and let my hair grow. I have thick course hair that wrangled easily as a natural fro. The stylist, Angela, allowed me the pleasure of an introduction to a Dominican blowout. Im still natural, but my hair is straight as a pin--no chemicals. I will be returning as the price was beyond reasonable AND I was taken without an appointment because the shop welcomes walkins on a first come first serve basis. I will be returning EDIT: I returned. Same (excellent) silk press, same price!

Elenzia Johnson I do not go anywhere else but here. The owner is so sweet every time I come in. Shes very inexpensive and always slays my hair. I be feeling myself fr. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a sleek wash and set.

Lilac Greene She’s great at what she does but it’s bad business to never answer the phone , to be closed when online says open you literally have to go all the way to the shop Hoping it’s open when you don’t have her personal number smh it’s crazy

Raquel Prado I am actually disappointed… asked a simple blow out for a wedding and i felt i could have done a better job at home.. I dont think she pull my hair enough to straighten … my hair got all frizzy and with more volume and not totally straight as i requested

Samantha Williams I was hesitant to try this place considering some of their one star reviews in recent months but decided to give it a try. I got ANC dip done by Ester and she was incredibly thorough and checked in during the process to make sure I was happy with the progress. I have short nail buds and did not want tips so she did the best she could and I’m thankful. For the price and the experience with Ester, I’ll most likely be going back!

Tessa Sontheimer Cosmopolitan is the best place to get your nails done in Syracuse! I HIGHLY recommend Afom. She is a great at manicures and pedicures. She always does a great job shaping and with the dip application and it always last such a long time. I have gone to her for a year plus and am always satisfied my nails. She is also just the sweetest!

Colleen Shrewsberry My niece and I went here today. Both of the ladies that helped us were awesome. My heels were pretty bad because I haven’t been in a bit and she did an amazing job. Only reason I didn’t give a five star is some of the equipment, like the dryers for your toes were pretty beaten up. But the service was great and we would both come again for sure!

Molly Sabine I have been going to Cosmopolitan since 2021. I was never a nails girl, but soon became addicted after I started coming here. I go to Jenny every 2.5-3 weeks and I love how durable the dip manicure is. On top of that, Jenny is amazing at what she does. She pays attention to detail and listens to what I want. Her pedicure is also great, it always comes out beautiful. She is super gentle and has never cut me once- and my skin breaks/bleeds very easily! I have tried so many other nail salons in the past (all over Syracuse) and Cosmopolitan is head and shoulders above the rest. They are organized, timely, and trustworthy.

Jessica Stewart Too bad I live in New Hampshire because this place has my heart! I’m visiting family and decided to get my nails done with a friend. I am very picky when it comes to my nails because I usually do them myself and I have never been amazed at my past manicures when I do go to a salon. But this place is amazing, clean and they did above and beyond on what I was wanting. Definitely will be back when I’m in the area

Bonita Hill Shop was very professional clean. I called at the last minute and got an appointment. My hair was done beautifully. I really appreciate the customer service . Everyone was outgoing very nice and helpful.

Melinda Kneer This place has really gone downhill. I bring my boys here for their hair to be cut because its cheap and affordable. And just because its cheap, doesnt mean a haircut should be uneven and look like crap. My son had his haircut Saturday the edges are uneven and jagged. Looks awful and I will have to buzz his hair off its so bad. Do not go to this salon if you want professional cut hair because the results will not be great. Not sure where the woman got her cosmetology license but shouldnt be cutting hair. My son wanted a low cut fade and she couldnt even do it. This is absolutely ridiculous. Again stay away from this hair place if looking for professional quality cut. It was rhe older lady with blonde hair maybe had glasses on. She was at desk when we walked in.

Jhana Guzman-Scholder Got my haircut here in the beginning of the month. My hair was pretty long (mid to lower back) and I wanted some long and face framing angled layers added. Left with really short, blunt cut layers that don’t blend (which I thought I could curl and make look better) but my hair is worse than when I went in there. My ends are brittle and frizzy no matter what I do. My hair looks horrible down because there are so many different blunt lengths, looks terrible in a high bun ( random short pieces that fall out) and looks terrible in a ponytail because of the chunky, heavy blunt ends… so I’ve resorted to hats and just tucking hair in a low bun praying this will grow out quickly. I’m starting to think they used dull scissors and the combination of that with the blunt cutting just completely ruined my hair. I’m giving it another week or two but I’m worried I’m going to end up cutting a lot more off to fix this. I usually see Joan and she’s great but unfortunately I was impatient and just took a walk in appointment with the blonde with glasses. Biggest regret on my part.

Jamie Millet I had butt length hair, went in for a trim and specified I wanted to keep the length and just add face framing layers. Older lady with blonde hair did not listen to me, after I told her multiple times I wanted to keep it as long as possible, she said “you need it cut it’s been too long” she gave me the worst haircut of my life, it’s choppy and she cut so much hair it now falls to the middle of my back. Also no face framing layers. I’m very sad, I spent years growing out my hair and it was a big part of who I am, and she just chopped it all off with no concern for what I asked for. I now have to go to another salon to get it fixed which will result in having to make it even shorter. Will not go back or recommend this salon to anyone.

They really listen to you when you explain what you want and ask questions to ensure your happiness. All of the stylist are very friendly and courteous with conversation.

Aiza Wall Great service!...Belkis beauty salon offers excellent service to anyone looking for a professional, good quality and the best one to one service. I have been to numerous places for years ( thick, long hair) then finally found the perfect stylist. I went for a haircut, highlights and styling, like always so happy with the end results.

Michelle Johnson Wonderful place to have your hair done. The atmosphere is calm and beautiful decorations on the walls. The women were totally professional and worked hard to give me what I wanted. I got a wash, deep conditioning and precise hair cut. Their hair care products were top of the line. I will refer people here and come back myself. To top it all off, I was a walk-in!

Arianna Russo I’m a woman with type 4 hair and these women either don’t have experience with type 4 or they don’t like doing it. I called ahead to discuss I was looking for a wash and set they said they did that so I made an appointment. They don’t use high quality products. They didn’t put anything on my hair before doing my roller set and then complained my hair was dry afterwards. Proceeded to blow out my hair with no protectant or product on it, and then straightened with a cheap heat protectant. She also passed the straighter over every section 3-7 times. I was counting. She informed me that putting some curls in my hair (this comes with a wash and set literally everywhere else) would be an additional charge and I opted out because I had to purchase a hairnet since they don’t have paper to wrap the hair up apparently. My total was 20$ more then I was told over the phone. I will not be coming back.

Casey Harper I have been a client of Belki’s for years!! I always get so many compliments when I get my hair done!! I always recommend her services!! The salon is clean, beautiful with a tranquil atmosphere!! She is wonderful with all of her clients!! I have cut my hair, colored, got highlights, she made my grow as well!! She is simply wonderful!!!

Monk Donnella “Donnie Monk” Gel Polish chipped the next day. A big lump of polish on my thumb. I did receive a refund and they were very helpful. This does not ignore the fact that it should have been done right in the first place. Be vocal about the mistakes they make, because they will fix them.

M H Excellent experience at Garbos - first greeted by Tina - very sweet ! Heather was amazing - best hairdresser experience ever in my many years. I got the Keratin treatment and a haircut - I will definitely be back to see Heather again - she is a gem!

Rucha Gurav They are bunch of liar and rude people. Jen charge me $20 extra for Brazilian waxing. She charged me $70 while on website upon checking I See they have mentioned $60 and when I called the salon today she told me she charges $50 for students. So she literally overpriced me for $20 and while talking on call she was so rude and was not accepting her mistake. Did not even apologise plus was putting up on me that I should have checked previously but I trusted her on that and thought she will be charging me correctly. I think people here are liars and not considerate at all. They don’t have ethical way to talk to people. Even when the owner Kristie called me and I explained her the whole situation she also lied to me and said that she doesn’t see me in her system like seriously today when I went to do full leg waxing the first sentence Jen said was she had done my waxing before so I feel the business is literally fake. Couldn’t recommend anyone to this place. Please be careful when they charge you. Specifically waxing lady Jen she is horrible she can be sweet while talking but when something like this happens she will be very mean.

Mallika Cadin Called a day before, offered me an appointment the next day. Moved from CA to attend SU so I was new to the area, and found this salon through friends. Was such an amazing experience. Heather, my dresser, was super sweet, helped my find the haircut and style I wanted and was so kind. Loved it!!
