Kate DiGraziano I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of care I received at the Triage/CPEP units. I came in with pretty severe withdrawals & suicidal thoughts, and the nurses/in-house psychiatrists could not have been more compassionate, non-judgmental and attentive towards me. Not only that, but they were very professional in giving me a concrete mental health plan going forward (setting up an appointment with a new psychiatrist for medication management, and another with a social worker I can speak with going forward). It made me feel like I was not alone in this, which is very important in my opinion. If you are in crisis, it can be scary to think of going to one of these places. But I can assure you, one mentally ill chick to another, they will help you here. The waiting room is a bit chaotic -- but once youre back in a room, they really will take care of you. Highly recommend for anyone going through a similar crisis -- there is nothing to be afraid of, they truly want to help you feel like yourself again.

Lynnette Hawkins I just want to say that this program is a Godsend. Even though I had to wait countless hours to be seen....it was worth every minute. Charles in the CPEP department is one of the kindest, most understanding people that I have ever met in the healthcare field. Dont let the wait deter you, they will truly help you to find your way.

Erika Renee I once was begged to stay and few years later, I came back and tried to be admitted and they would not take me. I have heard nothing but good things about the staff in the doctors there I highly suggest anybody going through a mental health crisis get to where they will help you! Sometimes we all need a break

Tyler Loop Emergency mental health in this community is run by UHS so there for it is run by corporation. No matter what corporation it is any corporations main goal is to make as much money as they can. UHSs main goal is to push as many pharmaceuticals on their patients as they can so that they can make as much money as they can. Notice how rarely youll see any private practices anymore. Many of these doctors have been sued and put out of business because of Medical malpractice. UHS like many other corporate hospitals have thought of a way around this by prescribing as many pharmaceuticals as they can. All and all it just adds to an endless cycle of drug addiction and mental illness.

Isadora Luce I tried to make an appointment for 9:30am at 9:08am because I woke up sick, and I wanted to get tested for covid/strep/flu because I have an immunocompromised roommate. It wasn’t within the 30 minute window, and there were no other appointments for the day. I called decker and they were completely unwillingly to help me or try to figure something else out. I understand there’s a 30 minute window to schedule an appointment, but it seems pretty insane that an open appointment was wasted over 8 minutes.

Dieter Borbeck Dr Moose is a very unprofessional and irresponsible medical practitioner. Not to mention the slow and ineffective ambulance service. My friend almost died of anaphylaxic shock because the EMTs took their sweet time (over half an hour) getting to where my friend was. (mind you my friend was in o’connor in dickinson which is right next to decker and the ambulances)

Dana Laws Ive had experiences all over the board here. Ive had nurses be kind, caring, and helpful, and Ive had nurses, be rude, short, and dismissive of my concerns. Its a mixed bag and you really never know what youre going to get. Some staff are amazing, and some have treated me so poorly I left near tears, feeling defeated and still in pain. My advice is to give it a try (after all its the most convenient place for students), but be prepared to go elsewhere if you feel youre not being heard.

Jesse Whitsit There’s a reason it has a bad reputation for bu students. The place is clean and organized but when you go to the doctor you expect to be diagnosed properly. I don’t care if I have to wait an hour or two for a doctor, just don’t misdiagnose students and have them going to UHS because they don’t trust you. Get it right and fix these doctors/system.

Alex I personally have only had good experiences here, but I could totally see how it could be a mixed bag. I only go here for minor issues. If youre really sick I recommend UHS (in font of campus) or emergency room.

Becky Conklin Continued to discuss patients private health information with other agencies even after the patient had been removed from their counseling program.

Andrew Eldridge If what goes on here was made public, thIS place would be forced to close its doors...IF youve been following along these past nine months...you would come to the conclusion: These people cannot be trusted. Im a patient at another NYS Hospital and they called me a "role model" patient (release me within 90 days). I come here to GBHC after And i apparently need Clozapine AND they keep me locked up eight months. Then, once outpatient, they DO NOT write up a rental agreement with me until after three(3) months, saying i owe $2400, for 3 BACK months rent!!! They do everything from illegally prescribing medications, to blatantly steal your money. I can prove it all. ThIS place has been an absolute nightmare. I have been forced to stay here since June 28. Not once did I ever feel like these people cared about me.

Nisha Cuddihe My daughter was held there for two months summer of 2022! They told me my daughter was trans and that was the problem! Not long after my daughter leaves this place she comes out as not trans and didnt understand why the staff told me that! This places tries to confuse kids so don’t send them here! They’re also extremely mean to the parents who are trying to do their best.

Candace Burghardt I was taken to this hospital via ambulance after getting hit by a car. I was a pedestrian. Understandably, I was upset and nervous. The accident happened so fast I was not entirely sure of the extent of my injuries. Of course adrenaline was involved, so it was difficult to determine exactly my symptoms. The doctors words were: "Well, youre walking around so you must be okay" . I was pacing in the room because:(1) it was very painful to sit,(2) I was very upset and nervous and(3) I was worried because my adult autistic son was in the waiting area. My husband was trying to show me support and keep an eye on our autistic son and was yelled at by the registration person for doing that. Then she yelled at me because she said she didnt have my name? The whole experience was surreal. The doctor reluctantly ordered a X ray of my pelvis. When he came back in to tell me the results he was rude and talked over me, not wanting to listen to my other symptoms. I was awake most of that night with neck and shoulder pain. In 34 years practicing physical therapy, I have never talked to a patient the way he spoke to me and I have never treated a patient disrespectfully the way I was at this hospital.

Liu Cristantiello in ~2016 id gone to the emergency room because i was experiencing extreme stomach pain, vomiting, just an absolute mess. it came and went very fast, by the time id gotten to the emergency room and sat there a while id felt a bit better. this lead to my pain being implied to have resulted from period pains, or just me faking it, and i was sent back home pretty quick. in 2017, i was suddenly feeling a very familiar extreme pain in my stomach and vomiting. it did not go away as quickly this time, and this time the doctor did a CAT scan. wouldnt you know, my appendix was leaking. wouldve been great if theyd looked into that the first time. in ~2019, id gone in repeatedly about unrelated stomach nausea and pain. this was ongoing for months, i threw up daily and could barely keep down water for months, i begged for help multiple times. was pretty sure i knew why too, it seemed by all accounts i had an ulcer. everytime i went here though, they insisted that what i had was a uti. i just stopped going here eventually because i knew they wouldnt help me. i was curled up in bed almost everyday, i genuinely felt like i was dying and had nowhere to go. Wouldnt You Know, when i finally got in contact with a g.i. who took my words seriously enough to get me in quickly, not only did i not have the stupid uti, not only did i have an ulcer like i said, i had 8 damn ulcers. this hospital could see someone bleeding out on their tile floor and not give a damn.

Rebekah Cohrs It feels like youre going into a forgotten basement cave when you go in. Just the rooms themselves are so cramped and dated, it definitely does not feel like youll be a priority. I challenge John Carrigg to send his loved ones there. I doubt he would. The nurses all were kind, I was impressed with their care. Thats literally the only positive though. Its been well over a full day with no updates. One Dr spoke to me to get background info almost 24 hours ago at this point. At that time she said Id hear back in a few hours. I waited hours with a patient hoping to get an update, still nothing. Had there been any other feasible option Id be gone in a heartbeat. The lack of social workers or advocates there to assist people unable to make informed decisions on their own there is appalling. I was with a patient and actively seeking answers and got none. What on earth about all those going in with no loved ones to assist? Its like theyre in a black hole where their only use is for the hospital to pad their income through multiple tests that no one ever gets the results to. Again, immediate staff, nurses, guards, I was impressed with their empathy and caring, but they definitely seem to be stuck under the typical issue of out of touch upper management whom assuredly would go to the new Wilson wing if they needed to get treated. If you go here seeking mental health treatment for you or a loved one I am quite sure youll leave scarred from the experience and with new issues to deal with in therapy. This place does not end the cycle, it perpetuates it.

Isaac Glasgow If I could give zero Stars I would I was in the hospital/ ER for 8 hours due to chest pain and I felt like I could not breathe and all they gave me was a pill

Tanya R I will say, the staff is kind and they did several tests. My issues are 1) being released without any relief of the issue I can in with, 2) unruly patients being noisy and get yelled at multiple times in the waiting room, and 3) sitting in the waiting room for hours and having everyone hear all that your care team has to say. So to say I just wasted over 2 hours is an understatement. I wont be back. I go to the ER for help to feel even a little relief and to leave with NONE is pathetic.

Jeff The whole hospital should be turned into a second psychiatric hospital for the area at this point. Most of the patients are psychiatric and the staff is horrible at treating any type of physical discomfort anyway.

Diane Brizzolara Unbelievably bad. Going there for medical care was a mistake. We found ourselves in with a large group of mental, emotional, and addictive patients. Admin actually mistook us as one of these psych patients so that when we went to leave to seek care elsewhere we were temporarily detained against our will. It is sad because no one is getting the care they need there. No one needing med care or psych care.
