Mary Salvatore E R reception desk- rude and careless people to service you. I was told to wait to see a patient for 20 minutes, before they even would check you in. Everyone is to busy, b s in. As for as the inside staff nurses were very helpful.

Raymond Elsayed Complete violation of all HIPAA regulations, complete disregard for patient and visitor comfort by being told to wait in the parking lot. EMTs using wrong entrances and getting aggravated at visitors and patients waiting in the parking lot extremely unprofessional.

Tony C. As a service member, I am very happy with all staff involved. The Docs on shift, gathered adequate information about injury. Actively listened and provided exactly what was needed to alleviate pain and resolve the medical issue. Explained future potential procedures. Very respectful and caring. Again, very very happy with all involved. Would definitely return to this medical facility. Time to process and treat was also very impressive.

سنوة سنا An excellent and hardworking team, where my husband and I went. The patient was suffering from tonsillitis and he received immediate aid from the doctor and nurse Tazia. They have the best ethics and treatment, even those who work in the gaskin? area. They are all excellent.

Gaby AA If it wasnt for Dr Fedele with the breast center, I would have ended up with a SECOND unnecessary surgery that NYU language in Manhattan was suggesting. She recommended a prone table and my biopsy took 20 mins tops. The techs were also great and the front desk was fantastic.

Nargis Bigzad Excellent doctors! The front desk, IS HORRIBLE! They have No respect to patience and very unprofessional. I had to wait one hour and 30 minutes. I would never recommend this location but highly recommend the doctors. You may try to see their doctors in other locations if they have clinics elsewhere.

Shaday George I come for my finger and I have to wait one hour every appointment every time.. I come early all the time the wait is insane & I honestly don’t like this office personally.. Writing this review from here and been waiting over 40 mins so far and everyone who walked in after me was seen and left ….

Destiny Lewis This has been the worst Syrians I have ever had with my medical center. I have been calling for 48 hours and still have gotten home from anyone on the team automated service sends me to multiple offices and nobody picks up or returns Voice Mail.

B R This was the least professional medical office I have ever been to. The front desk doesnt know what HIPAA is as they yell about patients and their needs across the desk eith a full waiting room. The nurse never so much as introduced herself and then after speaking to me briefly proceeded to "tell" the NP about my issues by yelling where I heard clearly they the closed doo . Why did my entire visit need to be broadcasted for all to hear? This has womens on the building so I assumed it was much more breast feeding friendly and it just wasnt. I felt like I had to keep explaining myself and they had nothing to really offer to help other than an antibiotic after i pretty mu h diagnosed myself. I would never recommend them.

Mary Bratti BEWARE OF SIUH SOUTH!!!!!!!!!!I’ve never once complained on Facebook or online about any business or anything… But I was just released from SIUH SOUTH and let me tell you…. The worst experience of my life. I was in for diverticulitis which is extremely painful. I was admitted for strong IV antibiotics. 2 out of 4 nurses I had were miserable horrible people who shouldn’t even work with animals. I felt like I was there to be experimented on!!! I was literally on the floor in the bathroom in extreme pain and pulls the nurse button and was kicking in the door while the nurse is in the room with the other patient explaining how to use the TV and told me to wait!!!!!!!!!!

Mary Salvatore Very professional and caring. Was given private rooms, a lot of Covid cases. The parking was difficult and small. However, there was a leak from windows on the 4th floor room. Cafeteria was clean with a variety of foods to choose from.

paul pergue I had a great experience at Staten Island University Hospital - South Campus with knee revision surgery performed admirably by Dr. Hip Flores on 9/13/24,. I was kept overnight as is usual with this type of surgery. There were so many support people that I would like to thank. From the anesthesiologist and other attending physicians. I remember Liam being prompt with my scheduled pain pills the first night. Tatyana with PT the next day. There were a lot of helpful people. One I thought was exceptional was Adele who actually made that next day enjoyable. She was the perfect professional nurse but was able to make it seem like she was a friend also. She almost made having knee surgery enjoyable. Thank you Adele and Dr. Hip Flores and all the wonderful caring staff that handled people like me recovering from knee surgery. You guys rock. The other staff members that helped me greatly were Josephine, Kassana, Erica, Lisa, and Katrina. Sincerely Paul Pergue

Joan Crowley My husband was brought here by ambulance after a health emergency resulting in a car crash. The ER was extremely crowded when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and continued to be crowded for the entire night. There were 2 Codes and many other serious cases. While trying to understand the urgency of other patients, I didnt feel that we received adequate follow up. We only saw the doctor once. He asked good questions and explained the course of action, but then when my husband continued to have episodes while on 2 heart monitors, no action was taken. I am sure somebody was monitoring him, but they never shared information about it. It was frightening. Eventually, after 10:00pm, he was moved to a bed in ICU. The nurses there were wonderful. They explained about the in room camera where he would be monitored by a technician overnight who would help the nurses should anything happen with his heart. I felt so reassured. They offered to make up a recliner for me to spend the night, which I declined, but it was so thoughtful. He was in this unit for 2 days before being moved to another campus for surgery. I didnt like that there wasnt a door to his room for privacy and for control of germs. The hospital is very dirty. The hallways, the elevators, the bathrooms, the cafeteria, all needed to be cleaned, and this was over two days of observation. I was so happy that he did not have to have his surgery there. The security and other people were very kind and helpful, but the hospital needs a new person in charge of keeping this place clean. Parking here is a huge problem. I ended up parking on the street because their parking lot is so small in relation to the size of the hospital, there just is not enough room on site for people to park. Parking on the street was not a great situation because I left late at night and needed to walk to my car alone.

Kenneth Dennis Make sure you don’t make late appointments on nice summer days. They’ll shoo you away with some nonsense, even though you’ve waited a month for an appointment. Not even willing to help or solve their own issues. Seems they’re more concerned with getting home to their boxes of wine. This is what happens when you dub people “heroes” for merely doing their jobs (which they’re paid handsomely for, by the way). Seems like all the baseless adulation has gone to their heads. Shameful.

Ilona Yuzbashian The worst place I have ever been to. I don’t have insurance and I paid for my immunization there. Few days later I received a bill for weird services I haven’t even done! Ridiculous! They didn’t tell me that they were going to bill me for something else. That’s not right. Well I decided to give them the second chance and went there to fill out the physical for my job. As a result, the paperwork wasn’t done in time and I nearly lost my job. The girl who was at front desk Maria closed the door in front of my face. So being pregnant I had to find another place to finish paperwork and I had only one evening for that. The most unprofessional and disrespectful approach to the patients.

Aly I’m giving it one star simply because of the Nurse Practitioner Indira. First of all, she makes you wait a half hour when she has no one else to see. If you’re sick you wanna be checked and given a prescription and go home. Second, She does a quick check up and refuses to do a throat culture or any kind of test when you have a sore throat. Thirdly, she refuses to even write a prescription. Try and get an appointment to see ANYONE else; if not you might as well stay home because seeing her is an absolute waste of time. It happens every time I get stuck with seeing her. Each time I hope it will be different but the definition of insanity...

They attended as soon as they can. I am so glad that i went here and not the other hospital in the island. Good job to you guys! To the SIUH Staff that night, Nurse Ryan, Michael and everyone else. Sorry if i cant remember everyone. But you guys did the best job!

Nataliya Prasad The whole staff, starting with the security and all the medical personnel, were very friendly, polite, professional, and tried to do their best to help me! The emergency room was very clean, too. Maybe I was lucky but the waiting time was not long. I am very grateful for helping me. The follow up call was made as promised and an appointment was scheduled to see the specialist, too! I put 4 stars instead of 5 because the hospital couldn’t put a cast on my feet as they don’t have casts, which is very strange! It will take me to 10 days to see the doctor for the cast. This fact is disturbing! I suppose that it is the Hospital management drawback, not the doctors’ and nurses’! Overall I appreciate the help provided to me! Be safe all Doctors, nurses, all hospital staff! You have a very difficult job!

Katherine Scott Probably one of the worst family member experiences Ive had. My mother is a patient here (im her proxy) I called her unit. Operator had an attitude and stated "I need to spell her name" I spelt is slowly and calmly 3x times. She blind transferred me, I called back and she said she couldnt find that person. Then she quickly said her room number and transferred me to the operator. She did not tell me what building or unit or anything. Then the next operator told me she was moved to a cancer unit (frantic because I never got a call she was getting transferred) I asked for the nursing unit number and he refused to give it to me. He transferred me to a nurse who then starting rambling off patient information about ANOTHER PATIENT. I had to interject and thats when she mentioned the unit isnt just oncology, its med surge as well. So you can imagine the fear when I called and heard that from the operator right???? then I started asking the nurse questions about why she was transferred, how is she doing etc she responded "I dont know any of those things" so then I responded... "can you look it up?" and she said "yeah umm give me a second" ... I patiently waited and it turned out she was fine. Nothing was communicated to me that she was bring moved, or why she was getting transferred. No transparency, no professionalism. The previous unit she was on THE CHARGE NURSE started reading me another patient information and then decided halfway through to verify name and DOB AGAIN (I guess she didnt hear me the first time?) Not to mention when her sister went to visit her they had her food tray so far towards the window it was not in reach, so by the time my aunt got there she had her lunch and dinner tray sitting there. You would THINK between the person dropping off the tray, the nurse, PCA/CNA SOMEONE would have noticed she ate nothing???? but instead just put a dinner tray next to an old lunch tray and not take the old one away. I cant wait to get her out of this hospital, if you are looking for compassion, communication or quality care.. its not here.

Yanira Feliciano This hospital is the worst hospital in Staten Island. Their level of care in the ER is a disgrace. Doctors and nurses have no compassion for their patients. Nurses on their cell phones ignoring their patients needs is sad. This hospital needs to be investigated immediately. Neglect is a big issue with this hospital. Avoid at all cost

Sal picataggi The worst hospital I have ever been ln. My room was in the hall way. Bright Florescent lights. I feel like an animal in the zoo, everyone who walks by looks in. I have no privacy, I urinate in a container with people walking by. Im forced to sleep under these bright florescent 6 above my bed. Whom ever is in charge of the hospital should be embarrassed and leave his position for someone who can preform.

Shakhzoda Khojisharipova Please don’t come to SIU hospital for give birth In Women’s Health center and labor. All doctors are unprofessional. My 34 weeks baby girl died because of them. When she was 33 weeks I came to women’s health center for the Ultra sound and doctor said your baby is too small it’s not good and I asked her what should I do for that. Doctor said nothing just came 2 times a week. After a day I came to Labor and delivery because I didn’t feel my baby more than 7 hours, it never happened before, she was really active. And it’s my first pregnancy. When I told to doctor about it she said baby most be sleeping it will happen, just drink a cold water. After 2 days I lost my baby(((( They didn’t give me any vitamins or didn’t check my baby during my pregnancy Please go anywhere else.

Duke Nukem Avoid This Hospital at All Costs – A Nightmare Experience If you care about your health, your baby’s well-being, and your rights as a patient, DO NOT give birth at this hospital. My experience here was beyond horrifying, and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. First and foremost, they do not respect the natural birth process. They clamp cords early without regard for the benefits of delayed cord clamping. Worse, they pull on the placenta cord to force it out instead of allowing it to detach naturally, which can lead to severe complications. Their disregard for evidence-based care is shocking. The conditions of the hospital itself are disgusting. The floor was left bloody, the room was in disrepair, and the overall environment was completely unsanitary. It’s clear that cleanliness and patient dignity are not priorities here. Even more disturbing is their treatment of patients and families. If you decline certain treatments, they call security on you and try to paint your husband as abusive just for advocating for your family’s choices. They call the police on other patients and refuse to let you leave until they decide its acceptable—essentially holding you hostage. If you don’t comply with their demands, they resort to threats of calling CPS on you. Imagine giving birth and then having to fear that they’ll try to take your child away simply for making informed medical decisions. This hospital is a disgrace. They violate your rights, ignore evidence-based practices, and treat patients like criminals instead of human beings. I urge every expecting mother—stay far, far away. There are better, safer, and more respectful places to bring your child into the world.

caryn davis Excellent 13 hour ER experience with nurses, doctors and other staff yesterday. Nothing is perfect anywhere. And, I showed my appreciation to each person I encountered to help make their day go better, too. I also politely and kindly asked for what I needed. And, even sometimes waiting longer than I liked, I did get everything I asked for. My nurse, Martina, is an angel. I was in good hands.

Tahana I can not thank Dr.Ahmed and his amazing team of physicians for helping my 3 year old son feel better after being diagnosed with RSV. He was super gentle with my son who was extremely fussy and was able to treat him and feeling better. They were super fast and up to date with everything. This was one of the best hospitals we’ve been to. From the reception in the front to the security guards, everyone was super friendly and all wished for my son to feel better. Sometimes it’s the little things that really help lift people up. Thank you again Dr.Ahmed and team. We are forever grateful ✨

Pavlo Semehen I was amazed by how helpful everyone was, from my visit to the emergency room to my recovery after surgery. Dr. George J. Kuczabski performed the surgery, and I cannot thank him enough for his professionalism and the excellent care he provided. Communication was outstanding, and the nurses checked on me frequently to ensure everything was fine. The same goes for the doctor’s team—they were attentive and supportive. I’m not sure why this place has so many negative reviews because my experience was nothing short of excellent. Thank you, and God bless you all!

Pamela I just got back from having a procedure at RUMC and I could not have been treated any better. From the moment I walked in, every staff member I encountered was friendly and competent. Nurse Kevin did my paperwork and checked me in. He was compassionate, professional, and made me feel at ease. All of the nurses that were part of my procedure were incredible (Allison, Lil, and Roseanne). They made sure I was comfortable both during the procedure and in recovery, and you can tell that they really care about their patients. My doctor (Dr. Yiachos) is excellent. He explained everything and came to see me after to let me know that everything went well. Thank you for making an unpleasant procedure so much easier!

It meant a lot, and I’m very grateful.

Michael Mann We had to look for a new pediatrician after our old one dropped our insurance provider. We made an appointment with Dr. Mendez at RUMC medical center. After sitting there for 2 hours and 15 minutes we left. Can’t say anything about her skills as a doctor as she never graced us with her royal appearance. Patriciamatos435 Patty If I could give them a zero I would. The order of operation in this place is a joke. Appointments are unnecessary because you still have to wait an hour in the waiting room to be called, An hour for the doctors in the examination room, and another hour to be checked out. It makes no sense what so ever to have to sit in an office for almost 3 hours and be seen for 2secs and receive the bare minimum treatment. If this is normal please feel free to correct me.

Dr T My name is Dr. T, and I recently had a distressing experience at Richmond Hospitals emergency room with my newborn. Despite being admitted, we were placed in a room outside the hallway, directly in front of the bathroom, where numerous patients walked by, coughing and sneezing. I repeatedly requested a room change from various nurses, but they claimed everyone was in critical condition, and it wasnt possible. When the Physician Assistant (PA) examined my baby, she seemed uninterested and dismissive. I had to ask her to perform basic checks and even request an ice pack, as no one offered assistance. When I inquired about a CT scan, she initially said it wasnt necessary, despite that being the primary reason for our visit. When I asked what she could do for my baby, she replied, Nothing. As I prepared to leave, the PA asked if I wanted a discharge. I requested time to consult with my husband , but when she returned 15-20 minutes later, she refused to let us go. She claimed it was because the room behind us wasnt ready, despite the previous patient having just left and the bed being quickly changed without proper sanitization. When I asked her to sanitize the room, she bluntly said, No, this is emergency room and it is the best we can do. I was scared for not fully vaccinated newborn baby, so I took him home and I watch out for my baby myself. Mom should never go through this. They saw a black woman distressed with her newborn baby I am sure that was their negligence and being racist towards me. I advise everyone to go to the other hospital nearby. My bed image is attached

Juan Rodriguez Do not come here if it’s an emergency. This hospital is understaffed and ill equipped. You can spend days in the ER, waiting to be transferred to a room. I’ve gone three nights so far without being able to shower, bc I do not have access to a proper bathroom. The call button is pointless. The staff is a skeleton crew that is being pulled in every direction. Hours go by before an issue is resolved. I don’t know how the other hospitals on the island are, but stay away from this one. There is a reason why this place has such a low rating.

Joseph ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. STAY AWAY AND LET THEM GO OUT OF BUSINESS. Worse emergency room Ive ever been to in my whole life. Ive been neglected by the nurse and the staff, kept calling them and they did not even bother coming for over an hour untill I got tired and despite being in pain I walked there. Other staff promised to bring me pillow and blanket, it never came. They let me go home without even changing my dressing. Waited for a Dr forever despite there was not many patients at all. Seems like people there just want to get paid without actually working. WORSE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

Sarah Karina If I could give this place no stars I would. Walked in, took a half an hour to get checked in, an hour before anyone bothered to talk to me, the doctor was hooked on one symptom I had and wouldnt let me explain further, did one ex ray and saw nothing so he sent me home with cough medicine even though the pain is much worse. The doctor didnt explain his reasoning after or even see me. I was handed papers and show the door. Horrible care. Go to the city if youre having an emergency Im heading off the island to get real care.

Allison Awadallah I came here for their urgent care. The receptionist, who took 20 minutes to come out of the back while I waited there, told me there was no urgent care in the building and she was very rude and abrupt… It literally said walk-in clinic on the door and it’s definitely an urgent care center. I have no idea why they would lie, maybe they were busy or something, but I would not go here if you are seeking urgent care.

Asya K. My doctor is a nice person, BUT Ive never met such a rude and crazy manager in my life. As I understand it, her name is Eileen W, and shes probably burned out and completely forgotten that she deals with patients who have come because of pain. Im not asking for a kind attitude and warm greetings, but when I go to the doctors office, I expect the staff to communicate politely and respect my boundaries. What I experienced in this institution is the humiliation of human dignity. Heres what happened: I arrived to drop off some paperwork for my work, and she attacked me, yelling that I just dont want to work and that she doesnt care that Im in pain. She also opened my personal documents on her computer and started to read everything about my health, analyses, meds—just everything—and she commented on and judged me. Im not even sure if its legal for her to delve into such sensitive data. Its not okay to yell at patients and insult them in accordance with her own ugly stereotypes about life and people. This behavior is absolutely inappropriate, and this lady shouldnt be working with people. Doctor Khaimov himself is kind and professional, Im definitely going to visit him again and Ill leave a separate 5-star review for his work after well finish treatment. Girls at reception are polite and nice sometimes.
