Jennifer Ann Receptionists were very kind. Dental assistant was very kind, and reassuring me I was doing well throughout my extraction and the dentist was also very kind and understanding. Like another comment mentioned they do lower the lights but I believe thats so they can see inside your mouth better. Second best place I have had extractions done. Also you do have to do only a X-ray for your first appt if you live far away thats good information to have. But I was made aware of that before my first appt. I am back today for my 2nd extraction and have way less anxiety than the first time.

Kasey Came in for emergency wisdom tooth extraction & the process couldn’t have been easier/painless. I’m terrified of the dentist and this place put all my worries to ease. Everyone was friendly and made me feel great.

Evan Caro I called on Wednesday asking for an emergency appointment for an ongoing issue. I was told there “wouldn’t be a Dentist here until Monday, and to call at 8am”… Called 8am Monday, told there are no dentists today, and hung up on before given another solution… Kimberly needs to check her attitude, she gets paid to sit and answer a phone and she clearly believes that’s too much work, as she is obnoxious before you even say a word to her.

Anna Lewis The staff are idiots. They promised me an emergency appt to get my tooth pulled same day, said there would be no problems getting it pulled over the phone. I drove an hour an 20 mins from Ithaca and when I got there they would only take X-rays!! Refused to pull my tooth. The receptionists are so stupid & the dental assistant was rude. Avoid this place at all cost!!

deez Staff seemed nice enough, but they didnt go over my options with me. For anyone in need of a possible root canal, go elsewhere because they only offer extractions.

Mollie Ticknor Absolutely disgraceful I’ve sat in this waiting room for 5 hours, everyone before me has come and gone. Yet I’m over here in immense pain due to my cyst ruptures and look 6 months pregnant due to my endometriosis. But apparently everyone else is more important. I’ve sat here with no food, not even a “hey are you doing alright?” Worse ER to come to. DO NOT recommend

Mary Parmenter Provider referred me to a Cayuga med orthopedic surgeon. Referral said foot pain. I questioned why not a podiatrist they said he specializes in foot pain. I went to the appointment. The extent of the exam was x-rays and telling me to stand. He said I needed surgery so thinking he saw something on the X-rays I agreed. 6 weeks non weight bearing and another 3 weeks in a walking boot. Pain all returned. Followed my instincts and went to a podiatrist. He ordered a mri of the foot and said he did he procedures at Arnot & Guthrie and did I have a preference. I immediately questioned why Arnot didn’t refer me to him since he’s affiliated with them. He responded, it’s political”. At that point I picked Guthrie. Arnot used me as a political pawn. They lost the mri, surgery and another surgery for a bunion on the other foot. And needless to say they lost my trust”. Thank goodness Guthrie is close by. I’ll never go to an Arnot provider again. They won’t last another 5 years.Surprise they’ve merged with Cayuga I guess I was part of the process.

james allen I can say that this institution is consistent. My ER visit was horrendous. The staff was unattenent and snippy, not to mention slow. The patient advocacy team was difficult to get in contact with and marginally helpful when I finally did. My bill from the hospital did not match what I received from my insurance company, as it had an "insurance adjustment" that raised my bill $233. When I called to get an explanation, it was hard to get in touch with anyone who cared much less who could tell me what the charge was for. After some doing I was told it was a NY state tax, so I asked for an itemized bill reflecting that it was a tax. A couple weeks later I received the same bill in the mail stating the charge was an insurance adjustment along with a Google printout explaining the New York Healthcare Reform Act. And yes I am referring to a printout of a Google search; petty I know. I ended up paying the bill in full just to put this establishment behind me. I would highly recommend going to UHS.

Christina Correll Worst experience ever in the ER. Arrived at 8pm, they immediately decided to admit my husband yet we stayed in the ER until 2am listening to the staff swear and use prejudice slang and act grossly unprofessional. Then they put us in the Clinical Decision Unit where we were advised the complete opposite information of what we were told by the ER staff. So now we are under observation for up to 24 hours, not yet admitted. The nurse didnt even know how to open the chart on the computer and was full of complete medical misinformation. Cant wait to see how much were paying for this garbage service and if theyre ever going to get their stories straight. We ended up being in the Clinical Decision Room until the following evening. The night staff gave me a .metal chair for the entire stay, gee thanks. What I will say is that the DAY STAFF WAS AWESOME. They were professional and informative.

What happened to those people that actually give a damn about getting shit done and being accountable ?!

Amanda Cossel This facility was the absolute most disgusting hospital I have ever set foot in. I was one of two patients in the emergency room and it was filthy. There was vomit, feces, and urine literally all over the floors and walls. I thought maybe they had just had a rush or something but after being there multiple hours without seeing ANYONE lift a finger to clean up, I suspect dirty is the norm. I then went to triage where they requested a urine sample. I provided one and they told me to place it on the counter. It sat ON THE FRONT DESK IN A PLASTIC BIN for over two hours. I asked for an update on a timeline since the sample was no longer viable and was shrugged at. After an obscene amount of time, I left and went to a different provider where I was then transported by ambulance for INTERNAL BLEEDING. I had emergency surgery and thankfully am expected to make a full recovery. If I could give this place less than one star, I absolutely would. Having been a Guthrie patient for decades, I am appaled that they would allow their branding on such a horrible facility. I wouldnt recommend this place to ANYONE, under ANY circumstances.

Heather Prow This place is terrible since Guthrie took over. This is the third time Ive been to the er with my mother in the past 2 weeks. We waited 6 hours the first time, 8 hours the second time, and this time we are sitting here in the hall, going on 9 hours. The last 2 trips could have been avoided if they had done an mri the first time like my mom wanted, but they refused. Lo and behold, she is being admitted tonight with a bulging disk and will meet with the neurosurgeon in the morning. Thanks for putting her through a week of unnecessary pain because no one would listen.

Angel Hunt Miserable receptionist, horrible time management showed up at 9:48 for a 10:05 appt told they were on time. Still waiting in lobby at 10:30. Staff is rude and degrading and quick to push u out the door with no answers and “reschedule” so they don’t have to see you.

Kaitlyn This office is highly disorganized. As a patient with a common thyroid disease, I faced significant challenges in obtaining timely and adequate health care from this facility, resulting in a lapse in my medication. Having recently moved to the area a few months ago, I was not informed about the requirement for a check-up every couple months and the necessity of undergoing regular blood work to secure a prescription refill for a maintenance dose of medicine Ive been on for several years. Notably, no other doctors office has imposed such frequent visits for my thyroid condition usually a yearly visit and blood work was sufficient if I have not been experiencing any issues. The most frustrating aspect was my phone inquiry about prescription refills. Upon calling Guthrie and being promised a prescription refill, I discovered a week later from the pharmacy that my prescription had not been filled, leaving me without medication. When I reached out to the on-call doctor at Guthrie, they suggested providing just one pill to hold me over. Given that I need to take this medication daily, the on-call doctor failed to comprehend why a single pill is not sufficient care in this situation. This incident highlighted the lack of understanding about treating thyroid conditions and the lack of concern for their patients well being. While I appreciate the importance of routine blood work, it is crucial for my caregivers to inform me about the required procedures, keep me in the loop and not prevent me from taking my regular medication. The typical processing time for bloodwork, new appointments and receiving my medication at the pharmacy means that I am now without medicine for an extended period. There is a definite need for improved communication and organization within the office to ensure the well-being of patients.

Ashlee The office is clean and my family loves the PA that we have been seeing. But the receptionists are horribly rude and not friendly at all. I told them I couldn’t make an appointment for my son before 4pm due to his school schedule and they went ahead and scheduled a X-ray for 3:30 and the follow up appointment at 4pm. When confronted about it, I was told that I should always be 15mins early, to which I replied 3:30 is not 15 mins before 4, that’s a half an hour! The receptionist didn’t like that and just proceeded to be rude! Never again with them! I will push for another office.

Maddie Putrino If you’re wondering why the ICU beds are “full”, it is most definitely not because of COVID, it is because this hospital couldn’t stand up against this tyrannical state and fired a bunch of exceptional doctors, nurses and staff. They do not care about their employees which in turn results in poor patient care. If you have any serious health issues consider going across the border to Guthrie where they still have enough staff to provide quality care.

Carolyn Heefner I wish I could give UHS 0 stars. They have consistently put money and the needs of the state and the Governor above their own patients and doctors. They’re now letting go of MANY incredible nurses and doctors bc of this tyrannical state. So if you’re in an emergency and you’re questioning why there’s a healthcare crisis in Broome County rest assured it was created by the state and carried out by our hospitals that pretend they care about you.

Tim Hubbard I was a CHF patient for four years at this location until December 3, 2024. In the four years as a patient, I had three different cardiologists. The first two cardiologists left the practice for personal reasons. My scheduled appointment in September 2024, was canceled due to the lack of an available physician. The appointment was scheduled again for December 3. When I arrived for my 2:30 PM appointment, I was checked in and waited an hour and a half. Other patients came and were called back to see their providers and left. I asked why I was waiting so long and the front desk assistant said, “this is crazy, I don’t know what happened.” She left the desk for five minutes and came back and tried to schedule yet another appointment for the following week. The following day, the clinic reported me as a “no-show“ and started a string of harassing phone calls to try to get me to reschedule. As far as I know, they have dishonestly billed my insurance for the so-called no-show. There was no apology given. It is quite clear that they do not put their patients first as they consistently failed to provide me with consistent and professional care.

michelle My Mom wanted to be treated at Lourdes Hospital but they Failed her. I dont have any good words, at this time, to say. Im still so upset with the care she received especially in the last moments of her life in the ICU. I pray that Lourdes will start living by their Mission Statement-"we commit ourselves to serving all persons, special attention, spiritually centered, sustains and improves the health of individuals, compassionate." My Mom was a beautiful person and deserved to be treated better! Lourdes Mission Statement: "Rooted in the loving ministry of Jesus as healer, we commit ourselves to serving all persons with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Our Catholic health ministry is dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic care which sustains and improves the health of individuals and communities. We are advocates for a compassionate and just society through our actions and our words

Christine Wrighter My Son had a injury in December, a door shut on his finger and cut the tip off. He rushed to Lourdes hospital bringing the finger tip with him to hopefully have it reattached. He was sent through the fast track, the Nurse Practitioner said that she talked to the hand surgeon on the phone and he made the decision not reattach the finger tip with out seeing him. I asked her to please call a plastic surgeon in and she said she would not that I could call next day if I wanted. She said that typically they do not reattach fingers as she brushed me off and walked away from me. I wish that I had immediately had gone to another hospital that would have helped us instead being in shock I accepted this decision thinking that Lourdes was acting in our best interest. We followed the Nurse Practitioners directions and went to the hand surgeon the following day. He cut the finger down to the knuckle saying that was the best he could do for my son. Since then I have spoke to people under the same circumstances that have had positive out comes. Apparently Lourdes works with a different standard than the other hospitals in the area. My son is a avid sports player, he works with his hands and now due to the negligence of Lourdes Hospital he will struggle with this for the rest of his life

I really was not happy with the quality of care the doctor didnt seem very interested in her job and she left use waiting over an hour to be discharged from the hospital. Everythings a waiting game and when you have to ask the front desk over and over away when can I leave after being treated its pretty inconvenient and wrong. Overall bad experience!

Kate DiGraziano I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of care I received at the Triage/CPEP units. I came in with pretty severe withdrawals & suicidal thoughts, and the nurses/in-house psychiatrists could not have been more compassionate, non-judgmental and attentive towards me. Not only that, but they were very professional in giving me a concrete mental health plan going forward (setting up an appointment with a new psychiatrist for medication management, and another with a social worker I can speak with going forward). It made me feel like I was not alone in this, which is very important in my opinion. If you are in crisis, it can be scary to think of going to one of these places. But I can assure you, one mentally ill chick to another, they will help you here. The waiting room is a bit chaotic -- but once youre back in a room, they really will take care of you. Highly recommend for anyone going through a similar crisis -- there is nothing to be afraid of, they truly want to help you feel like yourself again.
5 /5
Lynnette Hawkins I just want to say that this program is a Godsend. Even though I had to wait countless hours to be seen....it was worth every minute. Charles in the CPEP department is one of the kindest, most understanding people that I have ever met in the healthcare field. Dont let the wait deter you, they will truly help you to find your way.

Erika Renee I once was begged to stay and few years later, I came back and tried to be admitted and they would not take me. I have heard nothing but good things about the staff in the doctors there I highly suggest anybody going through a mental health crisis get to where they will help you! Sometimes we all need a break

Tyler Loop Emergency mental health in this community is run by UHS so there for it is run by corporation. No matter what corporation it is any corporations main goal is to make as much money as they can. UHSs main goal is to push as many pharmaceuticals on their patients as they can so that they can make as much money as they can. Notice how rarely youll see any private practices anymore. Many of these doctors have been sued and put out of business because of Medical malpractice. UHS like many other corporate hospitals have thought of a way around this by prescribing as many pharmaceuticals as they can. All and all it just adds to an endless cycle of drug addiction and mental illness.

Isadora Luce I tried to make an appointment for 9:30am at 9:08am because I woke up sick, and I wanted to get tested for covid/strep/flu because I have an immunocompromised roommate. It wasn’t within the 30 minute window, and there were no other appointments for the day. I called decker and they were completely unwillingly to help me or try to figure something else out. I understand there’s a 30 minute window to schedule an appointment, but it seems pretty insane that an open appointment was wasted over 8 minutes.

Dieter Borbeck Dr Moose is a very unprofessional and irresponsible medical practitioner. Not to mention the slow and ineffective ambulance service. Dana Laws Ive had experiences all over the board here. Ive had nurses be kind, caring, and helpful, and Ive had nurses, be rude, short, and dismissive of my concerns. Its a mixed bag and you really never know what youre going to get. Some staff are amazing, and some have treated me so poorly I left near tears, feeling defeated and still in pain. My advice is to give it a try (after all its the most convenient place for students), but be prepared to go elsewhere if you feel youre not being heard.

Jesse Whitsit There’s a reason it has a bad reputation for bu students. The place is clean and organized but when you go to the doctor you expect to be diagnosed properly. I don’t care if I have to wait an hour or two for a doctor, just don’t misdiagnose students and have them going to UHS because they don’t trust you. Get it right and fix these doctors/system.

Andrew Eldridge If what goes on here was made public, thIS place would be forced to close its doors...IF youve been following along these past nine months...you would come to the conclusion: These people cannot be trusted. Im a patient at another NYS Hospital and they called me a "role model" patient (release me within 90 days). I come here to GBHC after And i apparently need Clozapine AND they keep me locked up eight months. Then, once outpatient, they DO NOT write up a rental agreement with me until after three(3) months, saying i owe $2400, for 3 BACK months rent!!! They do everything from illegally prescribing medications, to blatantly steal your money. I can prove it all. ThIS place has been an absolute nightmare. I have been forced to stay here since June 28. Not once did I ever feel like these people cared about me.

Candace Burghardt I was taken to this hospital via ambulance after getting hit by a car. I was a pedestrian. Understandably, I was upset and nervous. The accident happened so fast I was not entirely sure of the extent of my injuries. Of course adrenaline was involved, so it was difficult to determine exactly my symptoms. The doctors words were: "Well, youre walking around so you must be okay" . I was pacing in the room because:(1) it was very painful to sit,(2) I was very upset and nervous and(3) I was worried because my adult autistic son was in the waiting area. My husband was trying to show me support and keep an eye on our autistic son and was yelled at by the registration person for doing that. Then she yelled at me because she said she didnt have my name? The whole experience was surreal. The doctor reluctantly ordered a X ray of my pelvis. When he came back in to tell me the results he was rude and talked over me, not wanting to listen to my other symptoms. I was awake most of that night with neck and shoulder pain. In 34 years practicing physical therapy, I have never talked to a patient the way he spoke to me and I have never treated a patient disrespectfully the way I was at this hospital.

Liu Cristantiello in ~2016 id gone to the emergency room because i was experiencing extreme stomach pain, vomiting, just an absolute mess. it came and went very fast, by the time id gotten to the emergency room and sat there a while id felt a bit better. this lead to my pain being implied to have resulted from period pains, or just me faking it, and i was sent back home pretty quick. in 2017, i was suddenly feeling a very familiar extreme pain in my stomach and vomiting. it did not go away as quickly this time, and this time the doctor did a CAT scan. wouldnt you know, my appendix was leaking. wouldve been great if theyd looked into that the first time. in ~2019, id gone in repeatedly about unrelated stomach nausea and pain. this was ongoing for months, i threw up daily and could barely keep down water for months, i begged for help multiple times. was pretty sure i knew why too, it seemed by all accounts i had an ulcer. everytime i went here though, they insisted that what i had was a uti. i just stopped going here eventually because i knew they wouldnt help me. i was curled up in bed almost everyday, i genuinely felt like i was dying and had nowhere to go. Wouldnt You Know, when i finally got in contact with a g.i. who took my words seriously enough to get me in quickly, not only did i not have the stupid uti, not only did i have an ulcer like i said, i had 8 damn ulcers. this hospital could see someone bleeding out on their tile floor and not give a damn.

Rebekah Cohrs It feels like youre going into a forgotten basement cave when you go in. Just the rooms themselves are so cramped and dated, it definitely does not feel like youll be a priority. I challenge John Carrigg to send his loved ones there. I doubt he would. The nurses all were kind, I was impressed with their care. Thats literally the only positive though. Its been well over a full day with no updates. One Dr spoke to me to get background info almost 24 hours ago at this point. At that time she said Id hear back in a few hours. I waited hours with a patient hoping to get an update, still nothing. Had there been any other feasible option Id be gone in a heartbeat. The lack of social workers or advocates there to assist people unable to make informed decisions on their own there is appalling. I was with a patient and actively seeking answers and got none. What on earth about all those going in with no loved ones to assist? Its like theyre in a black hole where their only use is for the hospital to pad their income through multiple tests that no one ever gets the results to. Again, immediate staff, nurses, guards, I was impressed with their empathy and caring, but they definitely seem to be stuck under the typical issue of out of touch upper management whom assuredly would go to the new Wilson wing if they needed to get treated. If you go here seeking mental health treatment for you or a loved one I am quite sure youll leave scarred from the experience and with new issues to deal with in therapy. This place does not end the cycle, it perpetuates it.

Tanya R I will say, the staff is kind and they did several tests. My issues are 1) being released without any relief of the issue I can in with, 2) unruly patients being noisy and get yelled at multiple times in the waiting room, and 3) sitting in the waiting room for hours and having everyone hear all that your care team has to say. So to say I just wasted over 2 hours is an understatement. I wont be back. I go to the ER for help to feel even a little relief and to leave with NONE is pathetic.

Jeff The whole hospital should be turned into a second psychiatric hospital for the area at this point. Most of the patients are psychiatric and the staff is horrible at treating any type of physical discomfort anyway.

Diane Brizzolara Unbelievably bad. Going there for medical care was a mistake. We found ourselves in with a large group of mental, emotional, and addictive patients. Admin actually mistook us as one of these psych patients so that when we went to leave to seek care elsewhere we were temporarily detained against our will. It is sad because no one is getting the care they need there. No one needing med care or psych care.
