Sarah Elliott I would really like to give higher scores here because the actual care received by the doctors and nurses here was fantastic. However, I have now spent a month trying to speak to someone in billing about a charge that my insurance company has noted I should not owe. I have left countless messages and emails to no avail. It’s really concerning that there is such poor customer service after a procedure is done. If this improves, I would give them 5 stars.

Bakara Wintner still in shock from the experience i’m about to share. i called 3 weeks before my appointment to schedule a checkup, im new to the area and uninsured. when making the appointment on the phone, i asked for a price list and for cost of the appointment and was told it would be sent to me when i filled out my paperwork. i filled it out right away and then followed up later that day and 2 days later asking about a price list. 3 weeks later this arrives in the mail. i have no idea what it means and call for clarification, wherein i am told i never should have received it as it is not for patients. i was also told the cost of the appointment written on the sheet of paper was wrong. when i asked for correct pricing, i was transferred to 4 different women who failed to provide me with any information, called me combative, and then cancelled my appointment. the same question was posed to all of them — how much, roughly, will my appointment cost, since the unreadable price list i got was incorrect. when i told them that being made to feel annoying and like an inconvenience for inquiring about price is demoralizing i was laughed at and hung up on, and then called back a few minutes later to let me know my appointment was cancelled. maybe go here if you have unlimited money and don’t mind being treated rudely but otherwise seek another doctor

Megan Dill Canceled my appointment after waiting 3 months. I set up an appointment as a new patient in early October. Promptly filled out the paperwork and returned it. The first available appointment (a virtual appointment, which was made clear to me over the phone) was three months later, which I took. Less than a month out from the appointment, I received a rather unprofessional confirmation text from the office which should have been a red flag, but I trusted the process. They said that my in-person appointment would need to be rescheduled or made virtual since the provider would not physically be in the office that day. I corrected them, saying I was already tracking a virtual appointment. They eventually replied saying that they would make the change from in-person to virtual on their end, so it obviously wasn’t handled right from the beginning. After this (initially) unnerving text exchange, I had no reason to believe there would be further issues with this appointment. The week before the appointment, on a Friday, I received a phone call informing me that the appointment is now canceled because the doctor would not be in that day. I was understandably deflated over this bad news, and it got even worse when I was offered an appointment TWO AND A HALF MONTHS later—the next available—after already waiting three months. Unacceptable, and quite frankly, cruel since they canceled the appointment— not me. They penalized me for their error by moving me back to the end of the line. A rational person would expect some accommodation for their mistake, but none was offered. I am leaving a public review to warn others to steer clear of this practice which has demonstrated zero respect for patients. Pretty sure my email complaint was never seen by the doctor I had the appointment with since it went to the staff email listed on the website. There is some gatekeeping there, I am sure. I could have gotten care from another provider within this three month waiting period. Instead, I was gaslit into thinking I had an actual appointment. This practice robbed me of three valuable months. I am just beside myself frustrated, hurt, and angry over their incompetence. **Update after MAHV response: I did receive a call and chose not to answer. And, I will not be returning the call because this practice has already wasted enough of my time, and I never got the chance to see a provider. It is not my job to take time out of my day to help MAHV improve their practices. My detailed review should help with that. I had to drop everything last Friday and find a new provider that will take me in ASAP, and get a new referral through my insurance. For other reasons I wont share here, it is a colossal inconvenience. My review stands.

Garrett Grimm This is the worst doctors office i have ever been to, they are terrible at calling with appointment reminders, the doctors there aren’t friendly and do not care about their patients. The staff is absolutely atrocious, not to mention will violate Confidentiality with office gossip. They’re in it exclusively for the money, they will not provide you with any help whatsoever. They should really be investigated at this point.

Debra Ridgely This office has horrible billing practices. I was seen for an endoscopy and received my first bill, thru a text, which states PAST DUE NOTICE with all those warnings. They did not disclose my results until I called repeatedly. They then send me a bill thru text, for the first time, threatening that it is past due. The bill is very expensive and this is not the way to treat your patients. It might be a good idea to give a patient a little bit of time to receive and pay their bill before you threaten past due to them. I will not be returning to this practice. The worst part is I am still ill and still do not know what is wrong. $3500 later, no communication and no help.

lil matryoshka It’s been a few years since I was a patient of Dr Buch’s and this review is very much long overdue as years later I still recall how unprofessional, inadequate and horrendous his services were. My complaints were of mystery upper right quadrant pain and he did an endoscopy. As soon as I came to from the anaesthesia, I was told by his nurse that it was the quickest exam she’d ever seen him do, 4 minutes flat, and then he came back in and aggressively told me I had acid reflux. Despite my anaesthetised cloudy head, I tried to ask him about the pain that brought me there in the first place but he wasn’t interested in talking about that and got rather irate and stormed out. I called him the next day to get more information and he accused me of interrogating him, about my health. They never called to tell me the biopsy results which were significant and now years later I am dealing with a disease he should have caught based on my complaints. The receptionists I dealt with in his office didn’t feel like doing their jobs was a thing others should expect from them. I’m used to this, so hard to get good help these days, and to top it all off, Buch used an anaesthesiologist that was out of my network and tried to bill me over $5000 for it. Yeah right d-bag, NY protects patients from surprise medical bills and I know it liver lips so joke’s on you there Bucho. Only good part about it was Marissa, his RN, who was amazing and the only source of useful knowledge to be gleaned from that miserable man. Why does he have so many good reviews? Why, I’ll bet those are the folks he goes to church with.
1 /5
Amanda D Not sure how this place has so many good reviews. Our experience with this office has been atrocious. They got us in quickly which was the only positive. The office staff are the rudest Ive ever dealt with. Very little information was given after procedures, and no one made sure that any of it was actually understood. They refused to provide any information to a medical advocate when they were asked for clarification. Received a bill for something we already paid for. Now we got notices from the lab company that they provided the incorrect insurance information, that was over 10 years old (which of course they blamed on the lab company). Then found out that they did testing that they never disclosed to my spouse, and they never called us with any results to boot, we only found out about the testing due to the notices from the lab! Go to pick up the results and see a notation about an area of concern that Dr. Buch noted during a procedure that he never told me spouse about! He said everything looked great, but the notes say otherwise. And forget trying to get through on the phone! Steer clear! Atrocious practice!

Samantha Carney FYI, I do not recommend Dr Hal Buch as a GI doctor. I had an endoscopy performed last November. The staff were very nice and communicated well. Ever since I’ve had nothing but problems with them discussing issues, updates, etc. The icing on the cake is I just got a past due invoice from the lab they contracted with last year A2Z Diagnostics (who they’re supposedly no longer working with) stating I owe close to $800…why wasn’t I, the patient ever informed that they were using an out of network lab?? And why am I just being notified now?? I called the lab and they’re going to try and help me get this resolved (they’re aware of the miscommunication buch’s office has with patients), but when I called Buch’s office, the billing lady I spoke with wasn’t understanding as I told her I didn’t want this to keep happening with future endoscopies I might have in their office. I expressed my frustration that I was never informed back November that the lab was out of network. It should CLEARLY be communicated to patients (and not hidden in some fine print). The woman justkept stating the obvious to me - that my insurance paid their part and that invoice is what I’m responsible for. No s***, Sherlock! IF they would’ve used a lab that was IN NETWORK, my patient responsibility would be $0, and I know this because I pay attention to all my claims. She clearly didn’t know what she was talking about and kept arguing with me so I ended the call. I’m so displeased with them that i think I’ll be switching back to my previous GI. This is just my experience, but I’m sure others have had similar ones. As the patient, educate yourself and be your own advocate because it’s crucial these days!

Chris Geiger I had a very negative experience with Tasha. Despite clear imaging evidence, (bc she identifies as an orthopedic dr and can read MRIs as an NP) she dismissed my pain and attributed it to psychological factors, prescribing psychotropic medication instead of addressing the underlying issue. Based on my experience, I would not recommend her care. Update, I saw a new primary and offered to have them review my MRI’s. I was told that he, an MD, was NOT qualified to review them, yet, Tasha as just an NP has told me personally, after looking at my MRI’s that she has “seen people bounce back from worse.” Yes, a medical professional said that to a patient. Also, somehow an NP is qualified to review my MRIs but an MD isn’t?

Jan Milberg A man was having a heart attack and dying in front of Deisings in the middle of Front st, about 200’ away from KHP. A firefighter who was passing by yelled for an AED as he performed CPR, a woman ran to Kingston Health Pavilion amongst all the places people ran to find one. KHP was the only nearby building with one but said they didn’t want to risk liability and wouldn’t allow her to take the AED. While she went to KHP, I went to Quest Diagnostics at the same time and the nurses there dropped what they were doing to run and try to lend a hand to the Firefighter. Praying for the man and hopefully he survived the few additional minutes it took for the fire truck to arrive with one.

Cathy Silvers I was really so very happy with my first-time experience at this urgent care facility - though I will say just an FYI, that I had made an appointment for 3:30 and I didn’t get in until 4:10 (which they do make mention of on their website can be the case). But that aside, the staff was fantastic. Cathleen, the intake nurse, was knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The doctor, or PA or NP, Tanya was wonderful. Her confidence in her ability to help me was a great thing to hear. And she was very personable and funny. I highly recommend this place.

tenderlovingpaws I just wanted to say that I apologize to Dr Black and her staff for not having faith in the veterinarian field because that night when I came in with lucky I was so depressed so emotional and I didnt believe anyone was trying to save him they spent hours on him and I just spent my money on him because if I could have saved him I would have and Im sure if they could have saved them they would have to. I know that veterinarians going to this field because I love animals and as we all would love to say if they can save every animal in there they would but unfortunately some cannot be saved. It took me over weeks to get over this because I was thinking of a thousand to one things and didnt know what could have happened to him because I take very good care of my cats. And this was never one of the signs that he had displayed according to Dr Black he had cancer of the liver and when he jumped around he just kept bleeding inside and he got worse and there was nothing I could have done for him. If I could best believe I would have now since I got the news I can relax my mind and not feel mentally depressed anymore thank you Dr Black and your staff for really looking out for lucky I truly appreciate you you went way on and above to try to save my baby

Haleigh Rockefeller 02/08/25 I brought my 1 year old pup to this emergency hospital due to her having a decent amount of blood in her stool and vomit for more than a day. She was no longer eating, very lethargic, extremely not herself and terrifying me. She was up every hour on the dot using the restroom or puking. My poor girl was so dehydrated, so scared, and so sick it was literally making her deteriorate by the day. Calls to over 20 emergency vets due to it being 3:30am and my primary vet not being open, I stumble upon AECHV. Now here’s the kicker. The lady on the phone, who I did not catch a name for, (older lady, shortish, dark hair, smokes as she went out on a break every few minutes to take a drag. Mind you, I’d look at her and roll my window down to ask if they’re ready, but she’s just roll her eyes and turn her back to me almost as if so I couldn’t “see her smoking”.) She was so rude. She was more interested in telling me 80x that the doctor was in surgery, call back in an hour. I was already there. I stood there, holding back tears and yells, scared for my babies life as she just kept interrupting me to ask me simple questions about myself, all of which she already took over the phone but wouldn’t even let me tell her that. She just kept rolling her eyes, cutting me off and told me to go wait, but I should probably leave and come back. She talked over me so much, she even got the breed incorrect on the paperwork she handed to the doctor. My dog is a Bluetick Hound, Husky mix. She has minimal husky but for whatever reason, husky is all that the receptionist heard. Not going to lie, my initial interactions with her, I almost turned around and spent the extra $150 to go be seen elsewhere. Moving on a few mins, I’m sitting in the car with my dog who won’t even get up to move, as I’m waiting for her call to say “you can come in.” A new car pulls in, with a pitbull puppy, who got out, was jumping around, peed in the parking lot, played in the patch of snow on the ground, seeming healthy. They went in, and I followed shortly after to check up on my dog’s wait time. The dog and his male owner were nowhere to be seen, I suspect they were already in the room with the doctor, which aggravates me beyond belief. They all came out a few minutes later, and happily went home. She pushed a non emergent animal into the room, when I had already been there waiting for over 2 hours. So right after I see them leave, I go in WITH my dog this time so she could see her state. I forced my dog to be in a more uncomfortable state because this receptionist is incompetent of caring or having any kind of compassion. With that being said, I walk in, she sees her and suddenly says “oh I think she’s ready, she finished a little while ago.” Immediately I’m in a room. Are you kidding me!?! You said you’d come get me or AT LEAST call me as I’m keeping an eye on my very sick dog who’s throwing up blood in your parking lot!!! Absolutely no compassion or care from this receptionist and she needs to be immediately terminated. Moving on from the receptionist, ALL of the nurses and doctors in the back, AMAZING. I cannot say enough positivity about the remaining staff in the building. There was two nurses who assisted in getting wolfys temp and initial look over, and they were ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL HUMANS. they treated her with care and respect. I was so overloaded from my dog and the receptionist, I sobbed and sobbed, and those nurses MADE ME FEEL SEEN. they honored my pain and understood my fear of Wolfy’s condition and state at the time. They assured me she was in good hands and was a great dog. They’d take care of her beautifully through the rest of our 6 hour visit. Through exams, fluids, meds, shots and more, Wolfy is on the road to recovery. Dr. Black came in and did an OUTSTANDING job exam, explaining, walking me through, playing with my dog. She took the time to get Wolfy stimulated and play. Something she has not done in days! Dr. Black and her assistants are the absolute BEST veterinary emergency doctors you can find. Dr Black & techs- THANK YOU!

We have been very happy with the online available appointments and check in process. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. We have received excellent care from all of the doctors and nurses. Michael Mattes Heed the negative reviews here! Have not had a good experience with this practice for > 1 year I’ve been a patient and I am switching practices for the following reasons. Simply, they put the business before patient interests. This has created an architecture for the practice where the receptionists guard access to your doctor beyond a reasonable degree. I understand the need to make money in any business, but in a medical practice, it should never get in the way of a patient-doctor relationship. No, a receptionist is not your doctor, and not subject to confidentiality, and should not be the person determining your need to speak with a doctor; not medically trained, not a nurse or other medical professional. And if I felt like a a visit to the office would be a good use of my time, I probably wouldn’t mind making more appointments, but sadly I’ve found that the level of care here is really just to refer out to specialists in the area. There’s no real diagnostic process or physical evaluation. Welcome to the middleman of medicine. People reviewing here note some serious mistakes or omissions, and I’m not surprised given the lacking attention to detail of nearly every employee I’ve interacted with, including my provider. Overall, it would be better just to save the co-pay or deductible for a visit, not have a gatekeeper on your insurance and find your own specialist. Avoid the clerical bungle of Hudson Family Physicians, opt for a practice that has its priorities straight and find a good PCP that cares about your health and concerns.

Diann Keyser Have been a patient here for more than 5 years and have no complaints! My entire family sees Laura Garafalo. Do we wait on hold- yes! But I also see how busy the office is when we are there! Every person gets attention and sometimes I wait and sometimes Im the person who needs attention, so you wait. But rest assured, if I ever have a problem with any of the receptionists and there might have been one or two over the years I certainly let Laura know so that the practice is aware... maybe thats what we should be doing as adults.

Quinn McCauley After reading some reviews here, I wanted to leave one on my experience because I do not believe the past reviews to be reflective of this office. I have been a patient with HV Family Physicians for about 10 years now, and I am always taken care of, listened to, and communicated with thoroughly. There are sometimes some wait times for appointments, but they are a sought after, busy practice, so this is to be expected. Laura is an absolutely fantastic medical professional and I would recommend her to anyone. She has always listened with major concern to any and all complaints I have and takes me very seriously. She is also just an incredibly nice woman who is easy to talk to and comforting to be around. The nurses and front desk girls are also kind. They are diligent in their work, and explain everything to you, all charges, etc. HV Family Physicians is a great family care practice with multiple PAs/RNs/etc with vast knowledge and wonderful bedside manner!

Stephanie Moss Went here two weeks ago to receive stitches. The PA who gave me the stitches was professional and the office staff were friendly. The 1 star review is for the fact that they did not send me with an antibiotic script for the 8 stitch cut, which was infected 2 days later, they don’t have any weekend hours (got the stitches on a Thursday) and I was told that I could get the stitches out at the same location 12 days later. I returned to get the stitches out and they tried to charge me $150 copay again. How is this legal? Complete lack of aftercare. Don’t mislead patients. Staff is good, management is terrible.

Jenn Constantine I think a lot of lower reviews were during pandemic and Covid scares . I was greeted by receptionist and called in before I had even sat and crossed my legs. Nurse was prompt and courteous . PA or Dr whom came in was lovely. Described course of action and what to expect. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Scripts called in. Polite, professional, courteous. I’m thrilled and will go back. Reviews aren’t painting accurate portrayal of how it is during a lesser Covid time .

Faith Davies This is a small town urgent care, and a perfect example of what a small town urgent care should be. Its clean, everyone was courteous and friendly. They made me feel welcomed and listened to my concerns and perspective of what I felt was wrong with me. The practioner then made me feel validated with my concerns and explained what she was going to prescribe for my treatment, and what will happen if the labs came back with a different result. That is what a positive medical interaction looks like and it left me feeling taken care of and respected.

Samantha Marshall Rude staff. Doctors are nice though. Also there is zero reason your charging me 150 dollars for a covid test when my insurance covers it. Not one other urgent care has charged me. It took 4 months and 20 phone calls to be reimbursed. 2 stars, the extra star is because the doctors have always been nice and professional .

George Veloudas For years, customer service has been basically nil until a few years ago when I needed to order a harness for the mask. after that order, without making another order, I received a box with everything that I would need for the machine......threefold! I had the machine for at least 10 years, then they tell me what they sent needs to be replaced every 3 months and not to worry, my insurance company would pay for those supplies. My insurance was billed over $1000.00 for them AND they sent me for over $1000.00 that my insurance company didnt cover. I called them and demanded they take it all back, and they did. Now I am receiving robo calls from them at all hours of the day and night without being able to be directed to a human, or not being able to stop the calls by pressing a key. I am tired of the harassment.

Helen Specht The directions for putting the equipment together and getting started were not complete . I really had to get help on line and with a phone call. The mask (full face) seemed awkward at first but I adapted to it well and was able to sleep with it even the first night. the fit has to be adjusted when in sleeping position which was difficult at first. Also difficult at first was finding a sleeping position which is comfortable and adapts to the hose. so far it seems to be working

Brenda s I called several times for a nebulizer. The person answering the phone was not helpful and was requesting not only the script, which was faxed to them, but also office notes, which seems to be a hippa violation. I have repeated notes and a script now being faxed at 3:30 and they close at 4. It is now 3:45 and is seems they have left the building! No answer. This is unacceptable service especially since this is necessary medical equipment.

Lorraine Gyscek I am so frustrated with April! Ive been a c pap patient for over 25yrs. Always used Landaur Meds that for my pap equipment with excellent results. Since I had to go to a bi pap machine 8/24 I am confused. The technical department was very helpful and told me I was eligible for new cushions. I was told I could place the order 1/25, which I did It is being held up by the supply department due to a medicare rule stating I need a face to face primary Drs appointment so he could fax documentation that I still am in need of Bi pap? He did that last week. The supply department still will not release order as they are saying the Dr would have to send something stating I used the bi pap 9/4/24. To 11!24/24 Meanwhile I have black and blue marks on my face because I have to wear the mask extra tight as cushions are worn. I also have sinus infection! Im frustrated and just want my cushions!!!!

Vanessa Reagan While the majority of the staff is pleasant, over the last 7 months I have been a patient here, I rarely see the same doctor, so there is no ability to build a relationship. I don’t feel like I’m being listened to sometimes and it shows. There have been no less than 3 appointments where whichever doctor I was seeing had no idea I was on a particular medication because although I’ve gone over my history and detailed my current medications while doing new patient paperwork, it never makes it on my file. Scary. When I saw one of the numerous providers I’ve seen for the first and only time, one of my prescriptions was never called in and it took me 7 phone calls, numerous “escalations” and TWO WEEKS to get my prescription called in. Mind you, no one called me, I had to call them numerous times. I am way too busy to deal with this aggravation and this place is adding stress to my life. My husband was at an appointment there and his blood pressure had been taken by the nurse’s aide. When the doctor came in she was very alarmed over my husband’s “dangerously high” blood pressure and was about to send a prescription over to our pharmacy for high blood pressure when he stopped her and let her know he never has high blood pressure. The doctor took it again and what do you know? Totally normal reading. I guess they track the blood pressure readings they take at every appointment as well as they track which medications their patients take.

Sam Haselby Dont be misled by the bucolic name, while the staff is mostly pleasant and competent Sun River Health and Wellness is basically like going to a Walmart for healthcare. No one answers the phone, appointments are made months in advance, you can not see the same doctor and the front-line of care is provided by a rotating cast of residents.

Dylan Neely Had a great initial appointment with Dr Softness several years ago, but this clinic doesnt function as primary care. Theres no continuity between appointments - Ive been passed off between residents from year-to-year with no way to build a relationship with a PCP who is aware of my medical history and self. The phone system requires going through a phone tree for the entire Sun River system; theres no way to contact your providers other than through a glitchy online portal, and Ive never received a callback when one was requested. The reception staff here is very friendly - this seems like a good clinic for some purposes, but extremely disappointed in it as a primary care facility. Will be finding a new doctor.

Meghan Clausi My previous dr left her office so I needed to find a new one very last minute. I’m not even a patient yet, technically. I went in to Sun River once to do paperwork and the rest has been done over the phone but everyone I’ve spoken to has been amazing and they have returned my calls the same day each time I’ve called. So far I’m very impressed with this place!

Mr. Toohey If 0 stars were possible I would give that. This is the WORST medical facility you could possibly go to. The doctors have no knowledge of medicine or health, the staff is not terrible, they will intentionally mess up your medications and prescriptions, they usually no-show telehealth appointments. I have to find a new doctor after years of this mess.

The procedures were prompt, professional, and I was treated with respect and kindness. The anesthesiologist really knows what he’s doing, and I felt better upon waking up than I have after any other procedure.

Jay Leavitt I walked into this office petrified by what I was about to experience - my first clonoscopy. However, Nurse Vanessas warmth and wit, and also Dr. Goldsteins warmth and professionalism, made this experience rather enjoyable. (Of course it helped I was sedated lol). M S "One of the worst places I have ever been to in the world! I felt like I was treated like an animal. I really wish I had read the reviews here before deciding to schedule my gastro procedure there. I was administered strong anesthesia and couldnt even open one of my eyes when The young rude & very aggressive nurse was insisting that I wake up and get out of bed when I was not able to and hardly 30 second after I open one of my eyes. I have had several procedures with anesthesia in the past, but I have never experienced such hostel rude treatment before. Being forced to wake up abruptly and forcefully pushed to get out of bed was a terrible experience not even two minutes after I hardly open my eyes. Not to mention the whole facility based in a small townhouse That smells like a Someone smoked cigarette for 100 years. When I finally managed to open my eyes, the nurse called her colleague, who also pushed and pinch me in the middle of the chest forcefully to get up. I am appalled by the behavior of the staff at this facility. The doctor Kevin Dodd who performed my procedure was impatient and unprofessional. The report he provided lacked details and was very vague, as if he had written it in a rush. He did not return to the room to discuss the report with me And never called to follow up. How can a doctor effectively communicate with a patient who has just been forcefully awakened from anesthesia? He said he will come back in a few minutes and he never did. My friend who accompanied me was equally shocked by the whole experience. Additionally, the receptionist was impatient, rude, and took her time to assist us at the window. It is unacceptable to allow such behavior in a medical facility. This place should be shut down. I urge others to think twice before seeking treatment here." The woman who run the place named “Allison Dodd” The Doctor Who did the procedure is Kevin Dodd. Both should be Ashamed of themselves and find A new career.

Jay Woods I wish I had read the reviews before I chose this practice. I waited quite a long time for an open appointment and now that I have gotten no help I am right back where I began. I saw the doctor for maybe 5 minutes total over 3 encounters, never in person until 30 seconds before they put me out for a procedure. I dont get the impression that the doctor is interested in me feeling any better or resolving my concern. After my procedure I was told to take a pill and that they would call me in 2 months. I found the doctor difficult to get ahold of, in fact i was always answered by anyone but the doctor when I had questions. This is the state of modern medicine, and here I found it at its most disappointing and least helpful.

Jeanne Stenswold If I could leave zero stars I would. There is no doubt in my mind that this clinic just wanted to charge our insurance company for all they could knowing they were not going to be able to affectively treat my husbands hemorrhoids. There is not enough space for me to give this all justice; husband in more pain than of he did nothing, no call back to follow up, looked at both of us like the pain level was being faked/ or they flat out didnt know what to do, said he might need a surgeon and dodged giving us a name of where to go by saying they would call- No call! If you or a loved one is suffering from this problem go elsewhere.

Mary Fitz I had a very rare cardiac emergency and was taken here via ambulance… despite all the difficulties that Covid has done to the medical community, every nurse in ICU and the cardiac ward, helped me through a very scary time in my life. The cardiac MD’s also explained my situation and procedure and genuinely cared about my fears and questions. I’ve heard this hospital gets a bad rap, but they saved my life and took real care of me. I won’t have a bad thing to say based off this experience.

Maital George We brought my dad in as an emergency and they discovered what some of the biggest hospitals hadn’t discovered about his heart. He was in nyu and Westchester a few weeks before this visit due to stroke and came in here after discharge due to chest pains and ketoacidosis and the cardiologists in here discovered a major life threatening clog that none of the prior hospitals did. Their ICU department was unbelievably amazing. Their ER attended to him immediately and with so much care. They saved my dads life and I’ll be forever be grateful.

Abby McDonough I love the Doctors, I have been with mine for 25 years. Unfortunately, Optum itself sucks. They have decided to unestablish me as a patient for some reason and refuse to reinstate my status. All new patient appointments are 6-12 months out and when you get one they cancel it at the last minute and then expect you to wait another 6 months. And at the end of the day they refuse to let me go back to my doctor that myself and the rest of my family has been established with for 25 years.

L M Caremount/Optum is easily one of the worst medical groups in this area. My former Dr., Sadia Hussain, was just as dismissive as the current nurse practitioner who was assigned to me. In addition to the attached messages I sent on the patient portal, I also called and left a detailed message for Cynthia Pascaretti on January 9th, 2025. My call was never returned and this Victoria person is the only correspondence Ive had about my concerns. I suppose anything billable isnt deemed necessary. Heed this review. You all are nothing but a check to these pple. They do not care about your health, they only care about rushing you through the 45 minute/hour office visit youre billed for in 15 minutes or less. There have been a plethora of extensive reviews that have been posted for various departments about the treatment you will receive if you choose Optum for your health needs. They do not have a care in the world for you. At all. And God help you if youre a Black woman. They will dismiss your concerns and toy w/you. Sadia Hussain was flippant about my concerns regarding fertility in my mid-30s. I told her that my MyChart identified me as peri-menopausal. She said that if I didnt think I was, then, Im not. Cynthia Pascaretti found that comment humorous and informed me that peri-menopause occurs in women after the age of 30. Interesting that my concerns have been a running joke in this place since Dr. Heller was my Dr (another travesty who coasted by until retirement). I completely understand now why sooooooo many Black women choose to bypass this Drs office and wait till theyre sick or dying. Dnt say you didnt know. You are a check.

Courtney Dudley My review is for the OBGYN office. Individual providers and staff were generally wonderful, however I could have had the exact same birth experience that I ended up having by just showing up to the hospital when I went into labor. When my water broke no one answered the phone, I could not get an OB to call me back for over an hour. When I showed up to the hospital, there were no optum OBs there. The OB on call delivered and did a great job but they didn’t have any of my pregnancy info- it was like I literally just walked in off the street. An OB from optum did not come to talk to me til the next morning after I had my baby and she had very little support to offer at that point.

Diana Matos Took my friend who was referred by his primary doctor & waiting parking is basically in front of entrance to the building; however, for people with a stroller or wheelchair its not easy entertaining the facility because the doors are not automatic so someone definitely needs to hold the two doors to allow the stroller or wheelchair to enter the facility. People seem friendly yet a bit inpatient.

Neil Millens I love my primary Dr. Lekaj, but the office management is horrible. Unprofessional, rude, and incompetent are me being kind. Voice messages are not returned (one staff told me they cant even access their voice mail). The office doesnt follow up in a timely manner on referrals or getting authorizations. And when you call about the latter, they deny any responsibility for having to handle prior authorizations effectively because they contract it out to a third party. Its nothing less than bizarre.

Logan Rose Im very disappointed with my visit to this doctors office. The man that greeted me was fine, and the nurse was fairly nice- but the doctor was awful to me. Im fat. I know Im fat. She spent 95% of the visit telling me about how my weight is an issue without talking about my issue I came in for (which is affecting my weight, ironically.). It felt like I was being berated for 20 minutes. She was also very rude to me. Was it because I was fat and she didnt like fat people? Who knows. All I know is that she has fairly decent reviews so Im not sure what her issue was with me. I definitely will go somewhere else for endocrinology, but the bad experience doesnt stop there. The receptionist upon leaving the office was rude to me as well. The only good thing I can say about this place was that I wasnt waiting to get in for hours on end like some other places Ive been to- but the treatment I received was awful and I most likely will be looking elsewhere for treatment.

Months later (1/21/25) I called to check on the progress because I still haven’t received a phone call back to schedule an appointment and was told they couldn’t find my paperwork! Mind you I’ve been making weekly phone calls checking on the progress, why not just tell me my paperwork was miss placed weeks ago instead of stringing me along! I’m on a time crunch because my current provider is dropping my insurance which I’ve explained during the many phone calls I made to the office. At this point I’d rather just deal with the hassle of changing insurance companies and staying with my current provider than deal with the incompetence from this staff and office.

I have severe anxiety and a large family history of cancer . It is a great luxury that I can trust him and relax knowing I am getting the very best care possible. He is the perfect combination of brilliance and kindness. Janetta and Dorthy work at the front desk and like Dr.Isabell and Jean very professional and caring . They also can take your blood work in their office. She is so sweet and professional . She also makes funny jokes and never hurt me once . They also never over book . William Miller Nuvance represents the absolute WORST of everything corporatized medicine in America has become. Their scheduling policies are so irresponsible so as to be draconian. It is commonplace to not be able to secure an appointment with one’s provider for months at a time. I used to see my PCP monthly, now I count myself lucky if I can obtain an appointment with him quarterly. They have taken to calling in controlled substance prescriptions without seeing me because there simply isn’t an appointment available and I’m running out. My son required a physical for school and the soonest they could see him was five months from now. They suggested I go to the local walk in clinic which I ended up having to do. Naturally my insurance company wouldn’t pay for a physical there, so I had to come out of pocket for $50 for something that should have been free had Nuvance been practicing scheduling that actually reflects concern for their patients’ health and well-being. I’m certainly no attorney, therefore I can’t determine with professional certainty what constitutes malpractice, however I San say with great confidence that when it comes to concern for patients’ health and well-being, Nuvance puts profits before people.

Radine Couture During my moms short stay here, we encountered many kind, caring, and knowledgeable staff. The problem is that there is absolutely no teamwork. The Drs and nurses do not communicate well with each other. You cannot give great care to patients unless you are on the same page. I have never written a review before, but felt it was necessary. I dont believe this is a bad place, I just think they dont run smoothly and because of that, patients and their families are left feeling overwhelmed, helpless and aggravated.

However the doctor (a young man whose name i dont recall) was very rude. He entered the room while i was still with the nurse and fully interupted her midsentence without acknowledging her. Kat Forge Came in via ambulance due to severe vomiting and got put into a room , the tech I had came in and she was an angel no complaints about her! However the nurse practitioner basically judged me and assumed I was a drug user just because I wasn’t feeling good enough to do bloodwork IN THAT MOMENT because I pass out every time, in which I stated to her “can I just wait a few minutes and see how I feel”. She said to me “okay so i won’t be doing anything or giving you anything not even fluids without bloodwork” and told me I’ll be refusing my own care and then basically told me to just leave because she won’t be doing anything for me. Honestly I felt stereotyped and I’m even considering suing for medical malpractice. Most definitely will never come back here, I’d rather wait 17 hours at vassar, at least care would be provided at some point.

Tatiana Verna This hospital is horrible. My grandfather was practically neglected unless my family was there and even with that was a problem. My grandfather was left uncared for, unfed, nearly poisoned all the way till his dying days. The staff has no compassion nor don’t care about the patient only the money that insurance gives. My family drove nearly an hour in bad and decent weather to see my grandfather and give him so T.L.C and we were told everyday we can’t see him even though a doctor and nurse spoke to him on the first day he was there to confirm that his three children and grandchildren are allowed and wanted to see him. The front receptionist (older white lady) yelled at my mom and myself as if we have no right to be there. This hospital never cared to listen even when we spoke to patient advocate it was a hassle to get to her (Allison) she called and her “update” after days of calling nearly a month later, the lost and unfinding of the proxy paperwork is not on them was our fault for not having a copy and can’t find the nurses. This hospital care needs to be investigated. Proxy paper work magically found one day and then the next day lost and undiscovered. They allowed my grandfather go days without food. I have proof that he was well aware and eating so I don’t care. This is my review on the horrible inconvenience caused during the care of my grandfather. There’re were some good nurses there but not enough to forget about the nightmare that was experienced. I hope state investigates the care provided by this hospital because I’m beyond disgusted and fearful for other patients care.
