5 /5 Drew Broderick: Due to stressful dental experiences during my life, I find dental appointments to be stressful. Yesterday I had an appointment at Voci Dental in Canandaigua. I was pleasantly surprised at how it went. This was for a cleaning and to have a cracked tooth looked at. Peggy was my dental hygienist and Dr. Matthew Wolfe was my dentist. I explained a bad experience I had with a root canal and crown a year ago with a dentist in a prior town I lived in. It was very painful, the staff lacked empathy and I continued having issues post appointment.
Both Peggy and Dr. Wolfe really listened to my experience with the other practice. They were empathetic and compassionate. Peggy regularly checked with me during X-rays and the cleaning to make sure I was ok. She didn’t rush the cleaning and the few times I had sensitivity she stopped and waited until I was ready to proceed. I will have to have a second appointment to fix my cracked tooth. I’m not anxious about it due to how great Dr. Wolfe and Peggy were today. The office staff are very nice, friendly and cordial. Very welcoming. The entire experience was far better than I expected. Lastly, Dr. Wolfe could have easily said I needed to have a root canal and crown for the cracked tooth. Instead he said, knowing your past experience with your last root canal and crown, let’s take the conservative route. He is also going to adjust the crown I got a year ago (from another practice) to make it more comfortable. Honestly, I give my experience a 10 out of 10!
