5 /5 Mercede: My car had issues with the A/C for a while and it was long overdue to get it fixed. My dad recommended me to go to Hylan Auto Repairs since their store front showed a sign that they also specialized in repairing vehicle A/C. I made a visit a week ago (Sat, 4/26/25) and spoke to Elson who advised me to bring my car into the shop at 8am since there were already about 2-3 customers in line who were also having issues with their A/C. I went the following week (Sat, 5/3/25) and showed up just a few mins before they opened. The shop was empty so I believe I was the first one there. I spoke to Steve and explained the issues I was having. He gave me a quote for running diagnostic tests for the A/C system and refilling refrigerant if all is good. I accepted and he took my car in, estimating it would take about 2 hours. Later in the day, I received several calls from Steve. He explained that the AC compressor was not working but he could have it fixed for me if I wanted him to. The repair cost was somewhat higher than the average with aftermarket parts but I still went ahead with it since it would be one less problem to deal with. My dad went with me to pick up my car and requested to see the new AC compressor (although you can’t really see it since it’s underneath the car). Steve showed the old AC compressor and my initial reaction was that it was so beat up and aging. Steve also stated he changed 2 valves and the A/C filter free of charge. It might not be much but to me, I appreciate everything and am grateful. Overall, the repair took almost 5 hours. I was in no rush so I was more than happy if they took all the time they needed as long as my car was fixed. It was a pleasure doing business with Steve. He was very patient and explained everything thoroughly. Hopefully my car can last for a few more years. Thank you!
