Yasmine Allen We enjoyed our time at Ithaca College during their Fall Open House. The campus is beautiful, the people are amazing and welcoming, and the music facilities are incredible. The landscape was gorgeous on our long drive to the college. Would be great for someone who likes a remote location.

Adlantic (Timelost) At its best Ithaca College is serviceable and at worst Ithaca College needs to seriously rethink its strategy to attract prospective students. 1) The dorms are outdated and often lack any ventilation in the rooms leading to the room to either being freezing cold or sweltering hot. The heaters in the rooms randomly decide when they want to work and electrical outlets are in places no one can normally reach. The bathrooms also need work as do the students that use them. 2) The dining halls lack real variety and are mostly closed on weekends meaning good luck finding food like all the other 4,900 odd students. Even with recent changes, it feels like a bandaid to the problem rather than a step towards a solution. 3) The instruction and instructors can be a hit and miss with some who are too good at their job and others make you wonder why they even got the job. Some courses have no reason being optional while others will make you question whether a gap year looks cool. If you are doing business, film, journalism, photography, theater, or performance arts. this is your school. If you are doing anything else, it can be a hit and miss. 4) The rising cost of Ithaca College ( as with most institutions right now) makes community college and state universities look more and more favorable. If there is no quality of life improvements, there is no need to have a net cost slowly creeping up on Cornell’s net cost. The school is plagued by a history of questionable choices, over-expansion, and poor management. I can only hope the best for those who have to work here and don’t have a choice.

jmedley38 I was impressed by the staff when we visited, they were very welcoming and eager to help, we even got to meet with a department chair with a phone call when we realized we had signed up for wrong tour. Of course the beauty of the school is impressive as well.

Christine L There are not enough kind words in the English language to than Angie and her team that handle veterinary nutrition. Our dog was diagnosed with kidney disease and pancreatitis. The diet for each of these issues is opposite of each other. Out vet recommended we reach out to Cornells Vet Nutrition Department. The progression of our pups kidney disease has been slowed significantly and the pancreas issues under control thanks to their wonderful team who crafted a diet for our dog. To give an idea we were advised the average lifespan after diagnosis is 1 year. We are at almost 2 and a half years since diagnosis. Angie is so responsive, helpful and the diet has been wonderful. We are eternally grateful for the quality of life and the gift of time with our beloved pet that Angie has helped to create.

William Borgstrom Our dog Fritz lost the use of his back legs and our vet couldnt help. He recommended Cornell. Long story short the talented Doctors removed a tumor pushing on Fritzs spinal cord. Fritz went through their Therapy Boot Camp , highly recommended, and now going through water treadmill sessions. Fritz is doing fantastic and is starting to walk and play with his sister

Thomas Everest The negative reviews about parking and permitting at Cornell are justified, but they are more of an institutional problem and dont exactly apply to this building. I have found staff very helpful and responsive to my atypical needs.

Dor B I was ticketed for parking in a space I paid to park in. I have never been to a ParkMobile site where you can pay for time in a space and be ticketed for using that time. I sent multiple emails that were ignored. I called and went in person as well, but everyone kept saying they weren’t responsible.

Izzy Wave I walked in and it smelled like trash. I was so hurt by the smell I now have issues breathing. On top of that roaches just everywhere you’d think it’s a halloween party but it’s not because it’s the summer. I am truly disappointed but not surprised. You give new york a bad name and should be canceled immediately. Blessings and peace-King Ward

Simony Christine M. (Chris) This is a review of the greenhouses on campus (they are numerous). In Summer 1996, I worked weekend hours at one of the greenhouses where genetically modified plants were grown. At the time, wasps were also used as a natural pest control. My responsibilities included checking greenhouse conditions and watering plants. This work can be peaceful. The textures, colors, and growth habits of plant materials helped inform my designs in Landscape Architecture. It also helped me to think about microclimate.
