J. Alaniz DO NOT GO TO AMY MONREAL FOR BLEACHING SERVICES at Beauty and Glamour hair salon in Harlingen. Will add pictures of what color I wanted, how my hair looked right before I went in, how it looked after she damaged it, and the final “fix.” All reviews, including mine, were deleted from their Facebook. You have to Google their Facebook page for it to come up. So while my head was in the sink she kept giving me treatments. Didn’t think anything of it. I’ve had my hair blonde for about two years with no issues with bleaching until now, with Amy Monreal. While blow drying my hair Amy Monreal said a small piece broke off. I looked in the mirror and it wasn’t a small piece. A whole section was missing on one side. I told her to stop, got up, paid and left with tears in my eyes. The color wasn’t even what I wanted. It was striped like a raccoon tail. Even in the fixed picture you can see how fried the hair is. I would have to shave it off in order to get rid of the damage. But hey, Amy Monreal got her $140 and that’s all that matters.

R M If you want to keep your hair then I am warning you DO NOT go here. Amy must have made a fake TDLR certificate to show she got her license. If you can’t perform a service then it’s easier to decline the client then to still dry and let me walk out half bald and STILL have the audacity to charge me.

Craig Kristin “Toxie” Took my mom here to get her hair done and she absolutely loved her haircut. The salon was clean, the stylist was professional, and we were not kept waiting for our appointment. The price of the cut and style was incredibly reasonable.

Elva Estevanes Have never had a problem. I’ve been getting my hair cut for years with them. Always get great service & my hair is nice and healthy. They share good tips on how to take care of my hair at home, as well.

nikki Herrera DO NOT COME HERE!!! I met a very nice lady at a nail salon that had beautiful long layers so I asked her where she went and she told me this salon… I went in and explained to the lady that I wanted long layers and showed her a picture of what I wanted she said yes but failed to tell me that she does not speak English until after she ruined my hair! I speak Spanish if she had just told me she didn’t understand I would have explained it in Spanish! STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!! Hair grows back yes, but takes a while! And she goes SUPER SHORT!!!!!

Carolyn Sanchez Ive been getting my hair done with Margie/Hair Palace since 1978! She not only gets to know you as a person but also what type of styles you like and if they fit you and your hair. Im always changing my hair style but before I do, I run it by her to see if it will work for me. Margie is very knowledgeable and I dont trust anyone else with my hair.

Henderson Lopez $22 for a mens cut.

Hilda Vilt I had my eyebrows done with Margie. She did a terrible job I do NOT recommend plus she charged me full price.

Linda Pons Margie gives a fantastic precision haircut. She will assess the shape of your face, the texture and condition of your hair and make suggestions accordingly.

Isabella Barrios I went to get a spray tan to cover up some discoloring and it left my skin in two different shades would not recommend. I sent the owner pics of my skin and she refused to give me a retouch or a refund and refused to acknowledge any errors. I asked to be in one color, and I followed all the pre-tanning steps like exfoliating and shaving beforehand and wore loose clothing. Poor customer service overall.

Paris Smith I paid $90 for a wash, hair cut, blow dry and straighten my hair. I would’ve preferred if the lady who was doing my hair was honest up front that she had never styled very curly hair before and maybe asked a co worker to do my hair. I walked out of there after almost 3 hrs. with the roots to my hair curly and pieces of my hair curly as well. It was my sister’s wedding that day and I thought my hair would look better if done at a salon but I was wrong I could’ve done it better myself. Not going back ever, very disappointed.

Linda Alvear Arrived 5:00 salon closes at 8:00 . I was a walking. I needed a dye for my short and thin hair. The salon had just two customers. The stylist were just sitting. Waiting on appointments. They didnt bother to attend to my needs

Elizabeth Hernandez If I could give a negative star rating I would. To start off I called and scheduled in advance a haircut & nail polishing for my 4 year old’s birthday pampering. Upon arrival, there already seemed to be a lack of communication between stylists & cashier. They were going back & forth who was on “the books” and who wasn’t. Finally got my daughter to her chair , the stylist finally came in & I instructed her we just wanted a trim. I asked if she’d be polishing my daughters nails as well. Confused, she asked the cashier if she had time to polish as well. I was then told I would have had to schedule that with the haircut not add it at the time of service. EXACTLY, I called in advance! Anywho, as she was finishing up the haircut, she was checking the length in the front, it was CLEARLY uneven. She tried parting her hair in a different way, still uneven, proceeded to tell me it was uneven cause she had a side part..once in a center part the unevenness was even more obvious. So what does she do? CHOP! There was a huge chunk of hair chopped off in the front, she then was about to start chopping the back to even it out. I immediately asked her to stop. I stated I was leaving to go get it fixed elsewhere. The manager went after me & offered to fix it. Against my better judgment I agreed. We left with it still uneven & chopped. To add to my disappointment there were customers & stylists having incredibly inappropriate x rated conversations. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Absolutely ridiculous!

Mary Cornejo Cecilia @ the Harlingen JCPenney salon did an awesome job on my hair. I highly recommend her my coworkers loved the way my hair looked and I already recommend her to a friend. I’m very picky of the people that do my hair but when she finish with mine I was like wow I really loved it. If you’re planning on having your hair done ask for Cecilia
