Kayla Tiller Thursday of this week I reached out to Helmet Hair Salon via fb message in search of a "curl guru". I happened upon a next day appointment with Chess. LET ME TELL YOU this woman KNOWS curls and I left with the best most flattering cut I have had in my whole life. she explained before ever getting started and I was able to trust her from jump. if you, like me, are someone with fine curly hair in need of someone who knows what they are doing, look no further. as far as the salon, it was a chill day with a great atmosphere!

Jennie Pace My son has been getting his cut hair with Ms. Shelly for about 2 years now. She is amazing. He can be difficult at times about how he wants it cut, or takes forever to decide on what he wants. She is very patient!! My son is almost 13 and he will not let anyone but Shelly touch his hair. She is amazing and so is her staff! Great salon, great attitudes and great atmosphere!! I will be going in soon to let her do my own hair. I HIGHLY recommend her! rachel carr Me and my daughter Amanda stopped by after reading reviews on this charming hair salon and Im so glad we did. Shelly was as great as her reviews said she was! Our appointments were at 2 but we showed up early. And even though she was eating lunch she made us feel so welcome. She got right to us even before our time and she was quick, and even though we were there for an hour the time flew by! Ms. Shelly entertained us with her stories about living in Beaumont and her own family stories plus I was telling her stories as well..it was fun. Laney Dupre I definitely recommend! She is the first person I’ve let touch my hair in over 6 years and I am very satisfied! Also the spray tans are to die for! The machine is so much better then any other spray tan machines in the area and it leaves a gorgeous glow and tan! Shelly is also very nice, professional, and makes you feel welcomed! Megan M. Ms. Shelly is a beautiful soul, a very sweet lady and she did wonderfully with my hair! I had very long curly/wavy hair and asked for a short textured bob. Btw I dont get my hair cut often and so I make sure to go to someone who does great with hair, and she never disappoints. I showed her reference pictures for an idea of what I wanted and she did amazingly and as requested. She is very professional and cut/styled my hair in a reasonable amount of time too. She also gave me a pixie cut in the past and it was very cute as well! Highly recommend her.

Shama Ali This was my first time visiting this salon, and I booked an appointment with an Artistic Director for balayage. After the initial color treatment, the results were barely noticeable, so I rescheduled another appointment for the following day to have it fixed. During the second attempt, the color on the back turned out well, but the front remained too dark with an orange-red tint. I only realized this when I stepped outside into natural light. My hair color looked uneven, so I went back to the salon to discuss the issue with the colorist. The colorist seemed unsure about how to correct it and kept asking other stylists for advice. Time was limited for her. She had other clients coming in for their appointments even then she tried to fix it by reapplying the bleach to my front hair again for the third time, but I stopped her because I didnt want to damage my hair so I suggested that she reapply toner instead, hoping it would reduce the brassy tones. I mentioned to her that a similar situation had been fixed with toner in the past. After she reapplied the toner, I was so exhausted that I left the salon without drying my hair. When I got home and checked my hair, it looked terrible. Im really upset and feel like crying. The colorist was a nice lady she tried her best, but I wish I had gone to a professional who knows how to color dark hair and who has advanced color correction skills. Now Ill have to go to another Salon and spend more money to get it fixed.

Dyana Ramirez I have been trying for awhile to make an appointment for my daughters wedding party and had no success on the phone. I have left messages and no response. I decided to go in person today and didnt get good customer service. First of all its very loud and I had a hard time hearing the 2 ladies. Their personalities werent the best either. After the wonderful treatment we got for my daughter in laws wedding parry I was hoping for the same treatment. That didnt happen. I was very disappointed today. So now I need to find some other place to go.

Amber Nicole HIGHLY RECCOMEND! Jennifer, the owner, completely renewed my hair after being traumatized by another salon. She had A LOT... and I mean A LOT to work with and fix but she was totally up for the challenge and I made the BEST decision choosing her and her salon to help get my confidence back. She had to fix a horrible attempt of a long layer on my super thick hair, fix a ton of bleed lines and blotches from highlights, tone down the harshness and add in some more natural looking tones and she did NOT disappoint me! She was very kind, professional and explained everything to me very throughly. She took her time but still worked fast and did not get overwhelmed she definitely knows what shes doing in all sectors of hair and if you have thick hair please trust her with it she will definitely impress you with her blending, texture and layering skills. Pricing is also very reasonable. Will continue to see her every year from now on! As far as environment and other staff goes everything and everyone was absolutely amazing. Tenley helped assist Jennifer with my hair and she was very helpful and kind and was pleasant having around. Meagan Mejia I pass by here every day on my way to work. It is tucked away and you wouldn’t know it was here unless you were looking. It’s a really cute little salon. My daughter got her hair trimmed my Haylei who did an amazing job! They offered beverages and snacks! Everyone there were super sweet. I sat by the window and I can NOT imagine sitting there in the heat of the summer because my arms were on fire and it was only 77 degrees outside and 3:30pm. That’s why I didn’t give it 5 ⭐️. Other than that, great work!

Sky Kolan I moved here from another state and was having a hard time finding someone to deal with my curls. I am so happy I found Alyssa. Shes a curl specialist and I couldnt believe how great my hair looked after just my first visit with her. I have course hair and the change in environment for me was causing my hair a lot of frizz. She recommended a new product that helped a ton and has helped me to embrace my hair. Shes also just a lot of fun to talk to!

Alicia Storey I had an appointment with Haylei and she was so sweet. I went in for a cut I was very much dreading as I did not want to cut my hair off but circumstances made it where I had little choice. Haylei made the appointment as quick and painless and as positive as possible. She did a good job with the cut and did everything she could to try to help me like my now short hair. The whole place had a very calm atmosphere which was nice. I will say that getting in touch with the salon itself was difficult but messaging on Facebook did the trick and they connected me with Haylei personally to set up my appointment, and it was smooth sailing from there with communication. The experience was as good as it could be given my circumstances and I will definitely back, hopefully to do something I actually am excited about next time.

Ashton Levine My hair was ruined when doing blonde. It was so horrible and thin from the bleach... and then the layered cut made it look even worse. I got tons of treatments at the new place I go...nothing worked. Had to chop my hair completely off and regrow my hair. The girls name was Misty Anderson. I would not recommend for blondes.

She had great customer service (which at times is hard to find). Every step and all products she used on my hair she educated me about before using. After detoxing, she dried and flat ironed my hair. Aaliyah Hernandez What a disaster!!! From the first booking to the last. Issue after issue. Originally, I booked through an app where I found out later she hasnt used it in about 2 year and it charged me $4 to book. When it was time for my appointment, I waited close to an hour in the parking lot before I finally found her on Facebook and contacted her to see what was going on. She apparently had no idea that I had an appointment and I had to take a full day because of availability. No one else could schedule me because of the short notice. Paying was also a nightmare. There was always an issue so I had to go back out and go to the the ATM. There also hasnt been 1 appointment when it was on time. 20-25 minute wait minimum. I booked an appointment 2 weeks in advanced and I called an hour and a half before my appointment just to make sure everything is ok. Apparently something happened and from the looks of it, I wouldnt have known that my appointment was basically cancelled until I got there. She "booked" me an appointment with someone else, who ALSO had a " family emergency". I dont know what happened and why it was so difficult to give me a phone call so I have a heads up but I guess thats apart of being unprofessional.
