Jane After surviving two tragic “Karen style hair style bubble cuts,” I knew it was time to find a new hairdresser. My old stylist used to be amazing, but lately, things had taken a turn for the worse. No matter how clearly I explained and showed what I wanted, I kept leaving the salon looking like I was about to "Demand to Speak to A MANGER KAREN HAIR!" Not my vibe!
Called Craft and enter Dennis.
From the moment I sat in his chair, I knew I was in the presence of greatness. He took one look at my poor, over-bleached "barn straw straight hair" and basically staged an intervention. “Your hair is very OVER BLEACHED and that is why it is straight dead,” he informed me. “Let’s make it happy again.”
And oh, did he deliver! He washed, conditioned, cut, and styled my hair into something worthy of slow-motion movie style hair flips. I walked out looking fabulous—the curls were bouncy, the style was effortless, and for the first time in a long time, my hair and I were on vibes of happiness again!
Dennis gave me Five-star service and really "listened" to me. He explained what was possible and why other options were not possible for my hair. I just wish I had taken a before photo so you could witness the miracle he worked. I feel so relieved he knew what my hair needed.

I booked an appointment online after being recommended to Dennis by my fellow curly hair coworker. Her appointment was one week before mine on 1/18/2025, and her experience was VERY different than mine. She was satisfied with her 1.5 hour long session and even 5 days after her appointment when we were all back in the office after the snow days, her hair looked good and she said she was happy with the cut. She got styling and even told me that she sat under the dryer for 30 minutes.
Upon arriving to my appointment I checked in and accepted a latte from the host. As soon as Dennis greeted me he said we would not have enough time for the cut which threw me off right away. I was in the salon for all of 30 minutes, not even long enough to finish my coffee. arrived at 1:10pm and was back in my car by 1:44pm
He was clearly uncomfortable cutting my hair. He randomly cut a few pieces while fluffing and playing in my hair for 20 minutes, then told me he again he didnt have enough time and his next client would be arriving in 15 minutes and I need to make a another appointment. Despite this, I was still charged $96 and I felt pressure to tip 20% for a service that was incomplete and unsatisfactory.
This situation was very frustrating for me as a client. I feel like the stylist should have been honest about his skill level or availability before taking the appointment. Paying for an incomplete service and feeling pressured to tip made it even worse.
