Daisy Lawrence I’ve been doing bleach and tone for a while, and everybody has always turned my hair yellow, but JULIANA WAS AMAZING, she made my roots white and fixed my hair to the perfect color. I would definitely recommend her for doing your hair.

Christina Dewey I was looking for a new hair stylist, it has literally been over a year since I had done anything with my hair. Pregnancy and a new baby have been really hard. So, to treat myself for mothers day I decided to get my hair done, and decided to try this salon based on the amazing reviews. Apparently reviews are not accurate these days. I was scheduled to see Alissa. They got me in quickly, they were so nice over the phone, I was so excited. The first picture was the one I showed Alissa, the curled one is what I left the salon with, then the others are the full effect after I straightened it. I went in to have a color assessment, and a cut. I am super low maintenance, so I wanted something I could pull up into a ponytail but also change the color so it was not so mousy brown. The stylist talked with me about washes, but not much about color. But I had a lovely head massage while my hair got washed, showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted, and she started cutting. When she was done my hair felt heavy from all the product on it, and it looked worse than what I walked in with. I did not want to be rude, so said nothing, my mistake. But was it a mistake because how would the.person who ruined your hair "fix" it? Trying to be positive I thought oh well, at least the dead ends are gone. Little did I know. I tipped well, the total came to $70, because that is just what I believe in doing, period. In reality maybe this deserved no tip, or no charge as my hair is now what it is. I went home, my husbands face said it all. I started laughing, because if I didnt I would cry. And I went and looked in the mirror. The ends are not even at all, it actually is at downward angle in the back. It looked like she started giving me layers then gave up part way through. I straightened it to see if that helped, it looked even worse, and by the end of the night it was a grease pit from all the product. I have fine, thin hair. I know it is not going to look like the picture, and I know I would need to get it colored for it to not be mouse brown, but having uneven hair, that does not have any resemblance to the picture is very strange. Everyone has had a bad haircut, we all laugh about them. To date, this is the worst cut I have ever had. Thank goodness I did not try color, who knows what I would have ended up with. The only good thing is she left it long so I can leave it in a ponytail until I can go get it fixed somewhere else. At the end of the day, if I handed my 3 yr old some scissors, I think he could have done a better job. Happy mothers day to me.

My stylist was so kind and attentive, offered me water, and said I could come back for some extra adjustments in the days coming forward if I noticed anything! Texas Ed I recently visited Mambos for the first time to have a trim and style. Ishmael, the owner, is very friendly and did a very nice job with cutting and styling my hair. His prices are very reasonable. I will be returning for my next trim. Highly recommended!

Haley Hyde Mambo is my go-to for haircuts. I wish I had found them sooner. Ismael does a fantastic job cutting my hair always, and has given me exactly what I was wanting each time. Affordable price for a hair cut as well.

Hannah Rhea I cannot recommend going to this salon enough! I’ve been going to Jenifer for several years now, and although I moved back to my hometown this last year, I still drive 3 and 1/2 hours to come have her do my hair! My first appointment I ever had with Jenifer, I came in needing a color correction on faded blue hair and was wanting to get all the way back to blonde. Jen managed to get me back to a bright platinum blonde without damaging my hair, all in that ONE appointment. Now, I just get a full highlight every appointment, my hair is very fine and damages easily, but I can honestly say my hair has never been healthier than it is now since Jenifer has been my hairstylist. Highly recommend!!!

Katalina is genuinely gifted in all aspects of salon business, she is focused, very knowledgeable, patient (hard to find in this industry) and delivers. Her salon is clean and bright, and very relaxing. My norm was to get super short pixie cuts to avoid the frizz that results from my naturally curly hair- now that its been minimized, I love this longer length! Becky Satin has been my hairdresser for over 20 years and I have never trusted anyone with my hair besides her. She is very reasonable with her prices and she is an amazing hairstylist! It is a lovely little place right on the town square amidst cafes, coffee shops, and across the street from the historic courthouse, which is often hosting local farmers markets and art shows. But, don’t let its respectable place in the San Marcos’ historical district mislead you to believe this hair studio isn’t vibrant, fresh, and alive with new, cutting edge hair design and techniques. Monroe attracts the most brilliant and talented hair professionals in the industry. I went to Monroe for a partial highlight and haircut. Shawna immediately “got” what I was specifically wanted and executed my vision with exquisite expertise. I LOVE my hair and have already pre-booked with my new forever hair stylist. The studio is lovely, yet casual and very conveniently located on the square. I feel so lucky to have found Shawna. Thrilled, actually. UPDATE: 9/28/2024 Went for my second appointment at Monroe with Shawna. I love my hair again…and still! The last haircut she gave me was so great that it held its style, shape, and manageability for 10 weeks. She is so responsive to my goals and concerns and has great ideas and suggestions. We are working toward my hair having more contrast between the blond and brown. When I showed up the first time, my hair color had almost no dimension. She explained her strategy to get us there and also work on the health and strength of my hair. Well, her plan is working perfectly. I feel like my hair looks better than it has in years, and this wasn’t for a lack of trying or spending plenty of money on products and skilled practitioners.
