Donna Clayton I was very pleased with the care I received at this Athens Facility. I was hesitant going in as I had heard bad reviews. The staff, doctor, nurses and everyone was knowledgeable kind and helpful. I would totally recommend anyone to seek treatment here I was happy to receive such a good quality of care.

Corliss Viator I was treated for an injury Saturday, November 9th. The nurses- Barbara, Margaret, and Leslie, could not have been kinder and given any more exceptional care than I received. Dr. Crutchfield was great and did a great job on my arm.
Highly recommend this ER if you have a family emergency.

Mary Vaughn I went here with coughing and not breathing good. All they did was a COVID test. Thats it. Took my disabled daughter in for her leg. She had cut her circulation off and her leg was black. The first nurse done nothing but hollow and fuss at her never touched her. She had to leave the room and they got another nurse to see my daughter. That nurse was good to my daughter. When we was released they was going to take her out to the car in a wheelchair. They didnt help her up. Shes a fall wrist. I had to help her off of the bed and she almost missed the wheelchair. They pushed her out. But when we got to the car they didnt help her. She got up by herself and crawled into the car hurting her foot and leg.

Hollie Costlow *** REVIEW OF RN, JENNIFER HENDRY**
Let me preface this by saying, I have been to this facility on and off as needed over the past 2 years and have had nothing but good experiences, so my typical rating would be 5 stars, but the experience my sister had today was awful and needs to be mentioned. Jennifer Hendry our daytime nurse with “12 years of ER experience”) was absolutely awful and demeaning. Everything we asked was met with a smart remark. She spoke to us as if we were idiots. My sister came in to be tested for COVID, flu, strep, etc. due to her wide range of symptoms, in which she was told it wasn’t necessary because she didn’t have a fever and “all things are treated the same”. When asked if strep throat is treated the same (knowing it absolutely is met with antibiotics) Jennifer smarted off and said she had none of the symptoms… body aches, sore throat, sicknesses persisting x 5 days. It may not be the most likely option, but it was still a viable option. My sister works at a daycare and needed to know for sure what she may have, as requested by her employer, and nurse Jennifer couldn’t be bothered. It was finally decided that my sister would get a Toradol injection for her aches. When I say “decided” I mean she came in with the injection and told her that’s what we were doing. When discussing whether or not it could be oral, due to her fear of needles, Jennifer told her it wouldn’t last as long and that “in her 12 years of experience she’s never had anyone fall over dead from a butt injection”. She had my sister roll over and when she asked if she could give her a 1,2,3 she replied with “I’ll give you, you’re 24 a grown woman and fine”.
This is not someone who should be caring for other people. No compassion, treating everyone like their a number, loud and obnoxious instead of listening to her patients, NOT a care provider. I would like to believe that maybe she was just having an off day, but we were left with the impression that this may be her normal personality.
Again, this place is always AWESOME. I refer everyone there who needs immediate attention, especially over the local ER. But this nurse’s care sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe management could remind her that she had a job because people are ill and choose to come where she works.

Meagan A I came into the ED today with chest pains and numbness in my right side. Every staff member I came into contact with was so amazing and very kind. I was in and out in 3 hrs and that was with extensive tests. Cant recommend this emergency department enough.
