Tee I just took the time to read over my MH record. The information is incorrect. They have my reason for visit is for substance abuse. I have never went to them or anyone else for substance abuse. It was supposed to be for PTSD. The first visit was very emotional for me but I opened up for the first time. No feedback on that.Therapist only wanted to discuss weight loss. Second visit barely a mention of my anxiety/depression. The therapist only wanted to talk about weight loss. I felt so discouraged and unheard. I NEVER went back even though I continue to suffer. The therapist should be fired! I feel violated.

Taylor Anievas Coria Manning I am thankful for my disability and "healthcare" however, what is provided here is vitamins. The first psychiatrist I saw gave me a book to pick my own medicine. The therapist upon my second visit and doing my assigned work to review for therapy grew angry that I hadnt somehow had an epiphany doing my one page assignment after our first visit simply introducing ourselves. She started to cry and tell me about how shes the only therapist and her job is very hard. Im sure....but that was supposed to be my appointments. There is nothing here. Everything goes to community care you get scanned xrayed and nothing ever goes any further because nobody ever gets paid by the VA for providing the care. Thus, nobody wants to deal with veterans. I feel ashamed walking in places all over the State Im sent for care. Sometimes community care is nearly as far as Audie Murphy! Ridiculous people.

MongerD Fun The primary care Doctors are simple medicine. If you need specialty care get ready to fight for it. Primary care Doctors are mostly useless and fail to listen to you. Again get ready to fight them to do their dam jobs. I see speciality Dr. and its great. The PCT have been a 14 year fight for me that will never end.

Robert Wippermann I have been receiving care here for four years and have been satisfied with my care. The nurses and doctors are attentive, caring and competent. If you have questions, bring a list so you dont forget anything important. Appointments have minimal waiting time, and prescriptions are sent to my home.

Laura Thorsell Love the staff at Kerrville VA, all the way from house cleaning, volunteers, maintenance staff to clerks and medical staff. "Hi, hello, how are you" are heard often in the hallways. Im seen on the Pink Team and I could not get better care and treatment from clerks to medical providers. The Optometry clinic is small but never an issue getting an appointment. The clerk acknowledges patients quickly. Optometrists are very through. The eye glass department has a very knowledgeable staff, good selection of frames and staff is well trained to help pick the right frame for the right face.

Karen Guilliams I have nothing but great things to say about Kerrville Hospital. Excellent care and attention to their patients. Dont worry about your loved one if they are there. I only wish they wouldnt keep them there so long once they improve by medication and therapy. The boredom and isolation get old after a while. Their families really miss having them home also. Alot.

cesar marin So I was admitted to this hospital under NGRI commitment for 4 years . The food quality is not the best. The staff can be good. But some have a power complex. If you have a medical issue. They have to set up an appointment with the med clinic. Only to be sent out to a contract clinic. Sometimes the proper paperwork is not in the folder they send you with. The hospital staff is always short staffed. Meaning its hard for patients to get their needs meet. Covid protocol is not always taken seriously. Caught covid-19 due to a staff ignorance about them being sick. They still come to work. And then they cant tell you who you came in contact with/ exposed you to it. Because of staffing shortage. They dont have a covid unit like they used to. They just isolate a hole unit usually 24 patient capacity. And let everyone catch covid. Joint commission comes around and all of the sudden their scary. They start making policy changes. And when you ask to see the policy. They say they arent allowed to show patients policy that directly affects their every day life. Some people spend more than a the average stay which is 2-3 years. And things are always changing. Its not a stable environment for psychiatric help. It fells more like a test whether youll make it or break your sanity in the process. They do offer good rehabilitation programs. Like the art department, the music department, the library, peer support, a small but effective physical fitness room. They could really use a certified physical trainer. Who can actually recommend things based on your weight , endurance and nutritional needs. Also have a female staff and a male at all time in the room. When I left their was only a male staff. Also the on unit rehabilitation staff is awesome and if you do your part. They will help make your stay be less miserable. Any questions just feel free to shot me a message.

Suzette Bellows I had the ABSOLUTE worst experience today in the ER Dept at Peterson. Let me explain. I was told to go to the ER after my blood sugar dropped dangerously low this morning (67) and I was dizzy with blurred vision. I had an order to have my A1C tested, but was told they wouldn’t/couldn’t perform that test me for so I said I’d got to a Quest Lab on Monday and have the test done. The staff and nurses were wonderful, but then entered a physician named Dr.Toloza. She was extremely rude and dismissive. I showed her a bottle of the Rx I had been prescribed (Metformin) and she said, “What doctor prescribed that?” I answered her and told her my history of blood sugar spikes and asked if she could recommend something else that would maybe help regulate my levels. She literally walked out of the room to take a call and never came back! After 30 mins, I asked one of the nurses what was going on and they said I could leave because she wasn’t coming back! I realize my situation wasn’t necessarily an emergency, but it was recommended that I get a consult in the ER since my levels have spiking in such an extreme manner. My blood pressure was elevated as well. The worst experience ever!! I will be contacting the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners on Monday to file a grievance.

Melissa Marie The nurse I saw was very rude and laughed at me multiple times. Called security on me who proceeded to follow me to waiting room and outside, I ended up having to leave after one of the officers was making jokes about murder (I have many witness to say she was being very rude and so was her aide) I’ve never experienced such a horrible experience when reaching out for help… it’s sickening. Then to top things off told if I caused any ruckus in the waiting room I’d be escorted off property, so glad I wasn’t a mental patient, or someone in severe danger, needles to say I will be in contact with an attorney (which I told the nurse that was rude and was laughed at agian) and told “you’re accusing me of being a liar you gave me permission to tell people what’s going on with you” which I did not nor have ever in previous visits. I’ve called the complaint department and left two voicemails with no return.

M G Experience was from 2/22/2025- 2/23/2025 on unit 2 West. The staff was neglectful and negligent to the extreme: not answering the call button, not rolling the patient despite that being part of her care plan, and even causing a large injury due to careless IV setup. Not only were the staff neglectful and negligent, they were also rude and largely uncaring; expecting the family to provide for the majority of the patients needs instead of doing their job. Peterson Regional Hospital is a truly horrifying glimpse at broken healthcare system.

Tom George aka Dark Icarus My mother has been in and out of this hospital for 2 years. The doctors are rude and dismissive. They do not stay consistent on diagnosis and sent her home with a bpm of 154. We will be taking her to Fredericksburg for a second opinion. The doctors here are quacks and youre taking a chance with your life going here
