Kitta lucas Went to Denise for a Dye and a twist out, only for my hair to turn out dry and brittle. The first thing that went wrong was my hair was red instead of copper, so I gave her the opportunity to change it and add more color, only for parts of my hair to be bright Orange (luckily it was hidden in the middle). My roots weren’t left brown like I asked about 3 inches of my hair was and there was still dye in my hair that got on my pillows and washed out in a sink by another hairstylist. When asked about a refund or for another treatment I was told to come in Sunday then blocked. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND for dyeing.

Juanita Myers Understand me when I tell yall that Kewonia and her staff never disappoint. I never leave this salon disappointed or go in worried as to whether my hair will look good. Each stylist is a professional and provide the needs of their clients. Thanks ladies and gent for what yall do to make us feel great about ourselves!

LexAnna Petty This a place to avoid. My experience was terrible. My hair was cut during an install of a lace frontal and bundles. Unique&Elegant Hair Design is also located inside of this establishment and it appears they all work together. This is a place that is more concerned with reviews and not the quality of work. I was told that I would get a refund and never got it. Several lies were told to me by Kewonia Grimes and she also had one of her friends pretend to be her business manager and call me and claim that a solution would be made. Stay away from this place unless you would like to encounter disloyal thieves that do not care about the quality of work. I received a phone call from Denise and she pretended to be concerned and claimed she would call me back with a solution but she never did. I spent a total of 440$ and my hair was cut and the quality of the hair was terrible and did not retain curls. Dont be fooled by the positive reviews because those reviews have came from them personally and their friends. When you spend that type of money on a service you dont expect those types of mishaps or lies and rudeness. At the rate these people are going their shop will be a memory of the past. I was threatened with a lawyer but was never contacted by one. This shop will hear from my lawyer. I have yet to receive my refund, but considering the drama and damage to my hair I will face them in court. Stay away from this shop if you actually care about your hair.

Charles I have known Denise for over 20 years she is always been an amazing caring patient professional in her craft her work in the Killeen area has been always magnificent I take my mother there every couple of months and she loves the way Denise does her hair as a matter of fact she wouldnt want to go anywhere else she even fusses in me to make sure that I make her appointment. When I met Denise she started her business on Rancier and over the years has had several successful locations throughout Killeen I recommend her to anyone who would like to have their hair done she is diverse and has multiple talents for different types of hair care definitely a pleasure to know her and meet her and the people who I recommended to her have always been completely satisfied keep up the good work Denise

Melinda Ortiz If I could give it a zero stars I would. I got a color treatment and extensions and the owner chemically burned my hair off. She tried to call me a liar and say it was like that before I come in and I showed her pics before and you can tell my hair was longer and healthy. When I I contacted her a day later for a refund she turned it all about the money and said if I couldn’t afford it then I shouldn’t of gotten it. Then she blocked me from responding to her. It was definitely not about the money as I have spent way more than what she charged on hair before. I just felt the damage to my hair was not worth the money I paid for it. She was very rude and unprofessional. I will have to have treatments on my hair to restore its health again. Would not ever go back.

Kat Pow I’ve been going to upscale salon for several months. It has been an experience that makes me feel wonderful. It is such a comfortable place to go get hair done. The staff is very very good at what they do ( thank you Mimi)! ;). I was there today and what I want to share is... a teenage young lady was getting her hair done, dropped off by her parent. Once her hair was done she was walked out to parents car and it was made sure she was getting into the car! To me that was an extra step. I was very impressed by how everyone is treated like family. Safety, conversation and the best hair style going!

Marcia Temple Salon upscale is a fantastic salon! The professionalism of the staff is outstanding! I received the VIP treatment from the moment I entered the salon. Cara Lang They let my daughter walk out with two braids SIGNIFCANTLY different sized. I spoke to the owner and the one who did her hair and neither offered a refund only for her to come back in to be rebraided. I informed both the first time she came in she was treated very rude and left and this time she walked out with messed up hair. I will never let her step foot in there again. We went to SHALOM BRAIDING who have treated her amazing BOTH times. Even the women getting their hair done could not believe they let her walk out looking like that. A complete shame to allow someone to walk out like that and the only time she was given a mirror was to confirm the part was "good" I would have never tipped $30 if I knew my child was walking out looking a mess

Regina Walker Received excellent service from the professional ladies from the moment I step foot into the shop, I felt welcomed the service was done in a timely manner. I was able to have two ladies doing my hair at the same time Stacy and Julian were excellent I will be coming back to see them. I was able to watch a wonderful movie and get my praise on all while getting my hair done in 4 hours. I will be back! Thank you everyone!

zeasia payne I called the shop around 9 for their availability she allowed me to come in immediately. I got there at 930, they were extremely flexible with the colors I wanted. They initially asked me how I wanted my hair, they did one braid and allowed me to judge and make necessary adjustments withoht any hesitation and or compliant. I was done by 1230. Service was AMAZING !!!!

babytie When I left NY i was sad because I was wondering who was going to treat my hair like my Dominicans!!!! I moved to Colorado then came breakage and all. Next was Texas omg im like im bout to cut my hair cause my hair is falling off/shedding alot. I stumbled through fb or craiglist and found her. I didnt know what a Keratin Treatment was but at time I was desperate and Trusting in word. I remeber she was Closed on Tuesday and she opened up for me and I was greatful for that and when she finished my hair OMG I LOVED MY HAIR AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt believe my hair looked so healthy. A year later I love this lady and her hands. Just come and u wont look no where else just like me.... Thank You Unique & Elegant and staff for what you do and that u love what you do!!!!!!!!!!! Tijuana Craig Im from Atlanta and new to the Killeen area. My husband is in the military and we moved here in April. As a woman, the most frustrating thing is finding a stylist. Someone who just doesnt "do" your hair....but takes care of it. After a long search I finally found Unique & Elegant Hair Design. I found the website and called Kewonia and she was able to get me in asap. She very nice, professional, and courteous. I went in for a hair cut on July 17, 2013 and received more than that. Not only did Kewonia do an excellent job with my hair; she gave me a consultation to guide me towards healthier hair. The prices are reasonable and the service is extremely fast. Along with Kewonia, Sharon and Vonni are two of the other stylists I met and they created a fun-filled, professional atmosphere. I felt right at home. Its rare that you find one hair salon that specializes in all hair types and styles. As long as Im here in Killeen, TX I look forward to continuing my hair services at this salon. I am beyond happy and satisfied.

Lex Carrington Blake I was pleased with how my hair looked until I discovered one of my braids had been cut and tucked in. Im uncertain if it was done intentionally, however I hope it was a bad accident. It cannot be fixed and it wasnt handled appropriately. In all I spent 440.00$ for this service so I didnt expect that.3 different people did things to my hair during this process. I also had a major issue with a hair company Called Mayven in the process. I was referred to Mayven by Ms Grimes. It was advertised I wouldve had the hair in two days and that didnt happen. I was even told my refund would be processed since the item arrived late and was refused. It took almost two weeks for me to get 420.00$ returned and the company had actually had the hair back for days. So in all, Im not pleased and I wouldnt want anyone else to have an experience like that. Now, I have to allow my hair some time to grow back and deal with the fact I actually wasted my money and my time. An apology and a refund would be appreciated considering the craziness of this. As humans we make mistakes but as professionals I feel this is an issue that shouldnt have been ignored. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone especially considering money seems to be more important than morals.

LaTonya Mosley I moved to Killeen in Jan 2013 I had a hard time finding a good salon and Beautician well the ladies here are Masters in thier craft (I mean that literally)...The owner did my hair and she did a amazing great job so yes I have scheduled another app pt for 30 Dec 2013 and I will continue to come here and request Kewannie the owner to maintain and do my hair!!

Ebony Toney I wanted a different style being in the military there arent a lot of options, but Kewonia took her time onow my hair and did my sew-in that I liked. Its not out of regulation while in uniform and very easy to do outside of uniform. I recommend anyone to give her a try.

Native Domi I feel scammed. I’ve come to this shop on and off for years but I will never patron this business again. Provided a picture and the outcome looked nothing like the picture. Was quoted one price and at the end of services I did NOT ask for I was charged. Owner was unapologetic when confronted about why the outcome was different than what I expected. On top of overpaying, she also tried to upsale me on edge control which I did not get. I asked for knotless box braids and walked out with hair that looked like old crochet hair from the mid 2000s. Disappointed and disrespected! $220! Ladies please watch scams and desperation tactics during the holiday season

D W Provides hair, and great service but sometimes doesnt communicate well. My last experience, we went up there for an appt and the owner didnt share with them that we were coming and they were full. My last trip home, I scheduled an appointment for my child. Showed up the stylist was not there, then requested me to come in 5 days later. Nope this is my last try with them...wont be returning.

Hester FAMily! Went here to get my 2 yr old daughters hair braided. Her hair came out nice but the experience wasnt to good. Everyone knows with a 2 yr old your gonna have to have a little patience...the lady just seemed to be very irritated everytime my daughter would move..mind you it was her first time. I kept her calm and tipped as I always do but I just cant give this 5 stars.

Cece Cece These people need to be closed tf down. They rushed my hair. My part wasn’t in the middle. My hair looked old. They charged $30 for a braid down for a wig. Only had atm machine and when you ask for your change they dont have any. A scam

Shannon OHara My friend asked for red and to keep the bangs blonde. She told me before hand what she was getting. She called me bawling and devastated. Needless to say, she cancelled both her interview today and her date for tonight and now has to go to another salon to get it fixed. $$$ The hairdresser offered to re-bleach it and fix it however this would cause immense damage and breakage. WOW! Incidentally, pink is the only color she hates and now Im left picking up the pieces. Does this look red and blonde to you?

Maria Gray I’ve been coming to this salon off and on since I was 18 years old. I’m not going to say who but this establishment needs a break. You can’t charge someone for a service and not do the service accordingly. If you tired, just say that. If you can’t fix my hair the way I ask, just say that. I always tip and am a good one at that! So today I called and ask how much it would cost to sew in three bundles of hair? Not to braid my hair but to sew in three bundles of hair! I can hear the beautician covering the phone and whispering in the background. If you don’t wanna do my hair then just say that! What I’m not going to do is pay $105 for some work that I know is unsatisfactory and that is done as if someone that wasn’t licensed would do my hair! The first time you did my hair I asked you about a net, the second time you did my hair I asked you about a net, you told me that a net was for a woman with short hair which is not true. Stop charging people for services that you aren’t doing correctly! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone because they have good days and bad days and as a beautician a good beautician is always efficient and does her job well. My mom always said a job well done is a job done well and this establishment is none of the two!

Deja Warrior I arrived into Killeen on Orders and was desperate to chop of all my hair.. I just so happened to come upon Ms. Deb and her cute little shop and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since and have never been disappointed. Ms. Deb has been with me through all of my crazy hair colors as well as helping me get my dreads started. Her salon has begun to feel like home the more I continue to go back. Very friendly and a holy environment. And very fair pricing as well.

T Nalex Awesome experience sanitized areas, mask worn. Ms Rhoda J is an Exceptional hairstylist she honest upfront she goes the extra mile for the benefit of your hair. I went from kinky to straight this time with a perm. She great with natural hair she give the best silk wrap my daughters hair is natural whenever she gets a silk wrap it last for weeks. Hair shampoo and conditioner treatment are phenomenal. She part of a dying breed when it come to styling hair she about the health of your hair. Good ole fashion hair care ❤ it.

Chelsea Scott I went to go take my distressed locs out and noticed they cut a lot of my real hair out. I asked for at least a partial refund and they refused to refund me. Ridiculous. They said they didn’t see it while they were taking it out which doesn’t make any sense. Now I have to use Bobby pins to put my hair in a bun for work. Never going back smh
