Paula Elrod DPTt If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would! The front desk staff were decent enough, and the nurse who administered the IV was passable. But oh boy, the nurse in the back was a real gem of rudeness, and the doctor? Lets just say he deserves a medal for misdiagnosing me after I had already played the kidney stone game twice at home before my ER visit. He confidently declared it was just interstitial cystitis—fancy talk for bladder inflammation—despite the fact that my bladder was as quiet as a library. The real drama was happening in my right kidney and flank. I only ventured to the ER after my kidney stone escapades to ensure there weren’t any surprise guests lurking around. I’ve been down this kidney stone road before and know the symptoms like the back of my hand. As a type 1 diabetic with a pancreas transplant, you’d think the doctor might have shown a smidge of curiosity about my medications or medical history. But no, that would be too easy! In my 35 years as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I’ve never encountered a doctor who skips over medications and past surgeries like they’re just boring trivia. I’ve had 12 surgeries, and let me tell you, kidney stones can turn into a real party crasher if you’re not careful. The doctor spent a whopping 3 minutes arguing that I didn’t have a kidney infection from two weeks ago, insisting it was just bladder inflammation. Apparently, my kidney pain was just a figment of my imagination. Listen, no one—including the ER doctor with his tiny man syndrome and god complex—can figure out my medical history in three minutes flat without asking a single question. I was never asked about my medications or why I take them. They just slapped a “bladder inflammation” label on me—brilliant, right? Yes, the CT scan revealed no more kidney stones, which is precisely why I showed up. The doctor claimed I’d be septic if I had a kidney stone. I’ve seen enough patients and family members over my 58 years to know that passing a kidney stone doesn’t always lead to septic drama. Even first-year residents and LVNs know to ask about medical history and medication reasons. Maybe these two need to experience a kidney stone themselves to truly grasp the pain and aftermath? Perhaps then they’d think twice before making a diagnosis. All I needed was a simple confirmation: no more kidney stones detected.

Janice Fontenot 11/7/2024 @ noon I entered Baptist E.R. with my sister holding me up ( broken left wrist) ; young lady brought wheelchair quickly. Sister went to park. I stayed in line this lady offered to push me when line moved . I knew wrist broken and asked for ice told to wait to window. At first window I gave information and asked for ice ; next window. At second window same thing I gave information;she put armband on me . I asked for ice ; wait til they call you. To give you an idea of how my wrist looked; my left thumb could almost touch the under of my forearm. In other words it was hanging unless my right arm held it like a baby . I can say the room did move fast .By 12:30 -12:45 pm I was back in E.D. Yes ; in your E.D.after x-rays ; a nurse sat me on stretcher in the hallway where I stayed my whole visit. We ( me & sister) saw Dr around 1pm . Where he to,d us what he was going to do to my wrist. Mean time I sat on edge of stretcher and saw everything that happened to everyone that entered E.D. on my side of hall ; 1 death in room next to chair where sister sat ; police picked up man Baptist had as patient earlier and discharged with a hip lock still in ( whose problem; the patient or E.D. ? ) ; then the nurse comes and discharged him . I ask the man if nurse just discharged and gave you a ticket to leave ; can’t you .? Then some male nurse sitting in front of me at desk told me to be quiet and leave it alone. Here’s the funny point after my sister asked 3-4 times for ice the answer was ; we need to find her nurse . My nurse was Chad the male nurse that sat right in front of me for 3 1/2 hours going on 4 hours . Then the Dr didn’t do the procedure of re-setting the wrist; Chad did . Chad had an I.V. stand then sand bags wrapped in tubing equal with a knot in the middle. First the Dr deaden 2 areas on hand / wrist then put my fingers in tubing to hang up on stand. Chad put the sandbags over my left arm lit arm was at 90 % My arm hanged for a while then Chad added more sandbags. My guess is that my hand as there for what felt like 45 minutes. I did finally get an ice bag about 30 minutes - 40 minutes before the procedure. All this time I was in the hallway of your Baptist E.D. / the 3 1/2 - 4 hours they were looking for my nurse - Chad was sitting/rocking with right foot on trash can. He took good care of passing patients.2 cuffed man to my right; then Police walked off to talk / don’t protect others? Yes ; Chad this is my business; if I’m a patient and sitting on stretcher. Not a room not even a curtain. And sister like St E’s ; why I may try them. Usually I like Baptist; maybe we need to look at RN too. The RN who looked for my nurse ;the RN with short answers; the one who looked straight across from desk to me on edge of stretcher.

Tiffany Parker 8 hour wait for labs only for nurse to contradict the doctor. They do not respond to the call button, but will come 3 hours later and just turn it off. After asking the first nurse for an update, she apologized for not checking and two hours later looked me in the eyes from down the hall then quickly disappeared. After two more hours a new nurse explained it was shift change and began asking same questions all over again. The second nurse didn’t know how to read lab results. She guessed at a diagnosis prior to viewing labs or consulting with the doctor. The doctor recommended a liver specialist when all labs were normal. I left so confused and will never return again.

Kishan Patel My grandmother came in because she was confused and had wheezing, they refused to give her a bipap after seeing her PCO2 was 67, the doctor only saw us once and barely did any exam. After that we had to wait for 6 hours, in which the nurse only came in twice. Unbelievably terrible experience. Update: We moves her Methodist in Houston and within a few hours of her being there she was already improving dramatically. These doctors and nurses at Baptist were ready to give up before even doing anything. Please don’t go to this hospital. The level of care you should get from a hospital is no where near acceptable at Baptist.

emily Checked in 5:40am Got a Room 6:30 Saw Nurse at 6:50 mentions shift swap, 8 rolls around we ask for help or estimate.. keep waiting... 8:45 decided to leave and they gave us a thumbs up on our way out. I was very patient and respectful but did not appreciate the lack of help. Dont go unless ur on your death bed or a regular

Breanna Geiger Check in desk and customer service is the worst! They should not be serving our veterans! It makes me sick to think that our veterans receive treatment from these people who think they are better. The doctors are confused and their nurses do everything for them. They go in circles, nobody can figure anything out. You can fill out 3 complaints a day and nobody will see them or cares. I just filled one out today and the front desk lady just left it laying there, even with my personal info on it. I didnt say anything, every patient deserves to read what I wrote! It is despicable.

Timothy Roby Been coming here for 10 years now and have yet to have a bad experience. Not sure why some folks seem to review that they argue with the staff, etc., that’s never been my experience. I schedule my appointments online, then receive a call to verify them. My doctors have always been nice and I’ve never had a negative experience with the staff. I think some folks come here wanting problems, because I don’t see it. Could the wait times for appointments be shorter? Sure, but I’ve never sat there longer than 30 minutes from my scheduled time. If you treat people nice, they usually treat you nice back. If you’re a Veteran that comes in with an attitude every time (I’ve seen it), then yeah, you probably leave reviews about how you were “mistreated”. I came here today 12/23/2024 and a nice woman was walking around handing out Christmas cards to every Veteran in here and offering coffee. This place doesn’t deserve the low rating it has.

Anthony Brandon I have been to several VAs in my life life for treatment some excellent and some not so great but this va is the worst of them all when I moved to Texas 3 years ago I went through the process of showing them the list of all my medications I am on from the previous va in Tennessee all medications are on there. But somehow not all of them wound up in my records. They are very disrespectful to the veterans and are no help when you try to sort out your medications records its one of those situations if youre not their race they ignore you fixing to file a medical malpractice suit against the dr and staff at this va facility.

Sam Beans “BrutalMetalHead” I recently transferred from the VA clinic in Vancouver, Washington. I had always received excellent care at the Washington clinic, but unfortunately, my experience at this new clinic has been very disappointing. They messed up my appointments and the doctors did not seem to care about my well-being. I had to go for an MRI, but it has been over a month now and I still have not received any results. I had to use my wifes medical insurance to see a doctor who actually cares about my health.

Seth Dezan Very unfortunate to have, yet again, another VA clinic that is very forward about not caring for their patients. I am writing this review while on the phone waiting for someone to just answer and its now been north of 20 mins... And whenever someone does answer, its usually some woman that is rude and only cares for your last name and last four of social. Just straight up rude and nor caring. Also, setting up an appointment for mental health they will schedule you 2+ months out. Thats 2 months you will have to wait to get seen for mental health. And when you finally are seen you tell the doctor that its crazy to wait that long but all they do is laugh and say that 2 months is lucky of me because its usually longer.. just sad that vets have to go through this.

tarsha smith It was absolutely terrible! I never was put in a room but in a chair behind a curtain (I was passing a kidney stone this pain is just as bad a labor pain) when they took me to a room to draw blood I was told by one of the staff (I felt like I was gonna throw up)and she said dont do that in here! It took them almost 3 hrs to give me something for the pain not to mention Im a 53 yr old woman with blood pressure issues upon arrival check in pressure was 177/120 never tried to address blood pressure they only checked it twice the whole time now its was high due to pain but blood pressure was still high enough that they should have addressed it! Bathroom was nasty. Also I was in an area where I was sitting behind a nurses room I pressed the button for help no one came until (30-40 min later) I was told we cant see the light! why is it there if yall dont periodically check to see if a patient needs help! What if a patient was having a reaction to meds or going into cardiac arrest and your response is we can’t see that the call button was illuminated Then to the right of me was another door where I can hear the nurses just laughing talking about non work related things so unprofessional. I heard another patient crying due whatever her condition was but I heard a nurse tell her that she was acting childish At no point should a nurse tell a patient that! And when I get this bill I hope it reflects the level I care/service I was given which was POOR! Never was put in a room just this chair and a curtain for hours!!!I have never been to a hospital where they treat u in a hallway which violates hippa rights no level of privacy and this hospital needs to do better

Nancy Angell The parking lot was well lit at night. Security was present so I felt safe. ER was clean and quiet. Staff was attentive; I was examined within 15 minutes. Staff listened to details and quickly intervened. I had treatment, lab results, prescriptions, instructions and out the door in 2 hours with symptoms improved.

Dorothy Norris It was a Monday afternoon and there were a lot of people in there that were sick. The nurses were very nice. The doctor was terrific when I finally got to see him that’s my only negative thing was that I didn’t get to see the doctor until 11 o’clock at night after being there since 2 o’clock the nurses did come in to check on her soon either OK. The outcome was better than I thought of you babe.

Scarrlet Michelle Brought my 6 year old in with RSV and having an active asthma attack. He has suffered with his asthma since he was a year old. They left him in the ER for almost 3 hours coughing and coughing. Jennifer the nurse was rude and has a horrible attitude. We left after waiting for so long. He needed a breathing treatment asap.

Melissa Cornett I sat in ER in pain for several hours and orders had been placed just not administered. I was moved to room and nurse walked off, no way to call for a nurse. Once they realized I was a nurse they did a 180 and were then attentive. Every patient should be treated better, and equally no matter their profession.

4.CHRISTUS DUBUIS Hospital of Beaumont

Address: 2830 Calder Ave 4th floor, Beaumont, TX 77702

(14) Reviews CHRISTUS DUBUIS Hospital of Beaumont:

Angela Travis My husband almost died at this hospital a few weeks ago!! A nurse was giving him morphine and Ativan every fours hours, and he is in end stage renal on peritoneal dialysis! The bedside nurses are not knowledgeable about dialysis patients and I had to get a patient advocate to hurry and get him transferred to Houston. He went in with peritonitis and breathing just fine, and became unresponsive after she was pushing drugs into him, and had to be placed on a ventilator and moved to ICU!!! The hospital is filthy, and I came into ICU one morning and he was lying in wet sheets!! I am not done with this hospital, when we are able to return home, I will be following up on the promises they made to make change happen!! I witnessed one woman discharging her husband at night due to lack of care, and another Mom being talked to like a dog, while her son was in ICU needing a heart transplant! It stinks of mold in there, and elevators have not been working properly for years!! The younger nurses, when asked to help with just changing sheets, look at you like they are clueless, and have an attitude that those tasks are beneath them!!! HORRIBLE, HORRIFYING, and not how healthcare should be at all!!! If you can make the drive to Hoston Medical Center, get your loved ones there!!

Corey Chance If you want MRSA this is the place to go. Terrible care and this is by far the dirtiest facility we have ever entered. We literally watched MRSA start at 1 end of the hall and made its way down the hallways. Dont waste your time talking. to the charge nurse she is incompetent and rude. Being told a BP 203/179 is not that bad is a joke. If I could give them 0 stars thats exactly what they would get. The state needs to shut this hell hole down!!!

Crystal Lonadier These people, respiratory therapist Doug, Nurse Cristine and Dr Earl Thornill let my husband die because “I was not in his hospital room”. They left it up to me to save my husband. Doug let my husband seize and quit breathing when changing his oxygen mask. Nurse Christine and Dr Earl Thornhill both told me that my husband died because I left his room at 1am in the morning. Please do you and your loved ones a favor and stay as far away as possible from these killers!!! My husband was fine until he was transferred to these negligent people.

Glenn West My wife was here for almost 4 weeks. I have been in many hospital situations in my life but this was the most dreadful experience I have ever had. Most of the nurses here could care less about their patients. They gave my wife a bath at 3:30 am on many occasions. This is the loudest hospital I have ever been in. Communication between staff and doctors is poor. Please avoid this at all cost. This hospital is not to be grouped with St. Elizabeth Hospital as it is a separate facility.

Barbara Jensen My husband was there for 15 days because of kidney failure. The nurses were kind and caring. They were knowledgeable about his condition and accepted the fact he went to the bathroom every hour every night and helped him back in bed each time. The nurse aides were very good about checking on him and keeping him comfortable. The respiratory therapists and physical therapist were also excellent and offered to help with things beyond their scope of responsibilities. Overall Dubuis Hospital exceeded our expectations. The administrator was active seeing all patients were getting the care they needed. It was a positive experience at a time when we were really worried about my husband’s recovery.

Lady Deana Lewis Dr. Lo did an SI fusion and put two pins through my hip. My pain got worse and finally went to a doctor in Houston. He did imaging and discovered that one pin was too far outside of my hip and the other was through my L5 nerve. I’m now in a wheelchair and go through almost unbearable pain and scream and cry everyday. Please go to the Fondren group in Houston. They are amazing!!

Lisa Tristan From the first time I walked in to see Dr. Lo I was given the best care! He has the best bedside manner, and explains so you understand what is going on, and what needs to be done! He is very thorough and covers all the basis! His staff is pleasant and helpful anytime you need them! Shout out to Dr. Lo and Tina T. for all they did to get my Laminectomy approved! And both my experiences at the Spine Tech surgical center were great! The nurses there are kind, and really take good care of you! I highly recommend Dr. Lo! You will love him! Great doctor!

Kyle Lewis My Wife’s (43 years old) has been bed ridden for 2.5 years now, ruined her life. Si joint fusion pins put in wrong and permanently damaged nerves due to the pin rubbing against them. Couldn’t figure out what was wrong until we went to a real doctor in Houston and they were baffled by what he did. Now 6 surgeries later and still unable to fix or even help her 24/7 pain.

Samantha Jefferson Always good to me. Doctor Lo has now done two cervical surgery’s and two surgeries for my epilepsy. I’ve seen him since 2012 i believe. He has never let me down. The office can get sometimes busy there is multiple doctors. But for good doctors this is something that you may find normal. Just be patient if you can. He is a good man and great doctor. His wife is an amazing neurologist which she is my neurologist as well. They also have an office in the Houston area “ Shenandoah “. I wholeheartedly trust him with my life.

Judy Irvin Dr Lo is a wonderful Dr and surgeon. He was my husbands physician/surgeon for several years and we would highly recommend his service. I was in need of a Dr with his skills about one month ago, so I called his office. I asked to make an appt, was transferred me to someone, who took my info, said they would call me back with a time and date, then hung up. A red flag popped for me, but I waited for the call. Needless to say, Im still waiting! The next day I called an Orthopedic office in Lufkin, was given a walk in appt, have been treated, am now on my way to recovery. Dr Los office staff needs to be removed and replaced with some real office workers that know how to deal with the public and the phones. Dr Lo, please take inventory of your staff!! You are too good of a Dr/Surgeon to have your reputation destroyed by your unskilled staff!!!

Rhonda Waguespack I would give a zero if I could. I never received a bill from them because my son has Medicaid. There should be no bill. I did however receive a bill from a collection agency!!!! When I try to give them the information for insurance, they will not take it. This place should be sued and shut down from all the other reviews similar to mine. These people have no conscience and I believe they are commiting insurance fraud.

Trametreah Provost Went to Beaumont Emergency Hospital on June 6 with SEVERE stomach and side pains. Had numerous tests done and labs came back that I was dehydrated and had an infection. Other tests came back inconclusive. Dr. Foutz then decided that I needed to be a direct admit to Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital with a possibility of appendicitis. BEH is the only Emergency center that I would go for myself and my family. The level of care that I receive there has always been top notch and I am in and out in a timely manner. All of the staff has always been kind and considerate with a great bedside manner. And I always receive a follow up call to check on me. Would definitely recommend!

Amy McFarland My service date was November 2, 2016. It was covered by my insurance at 100%, and Aetna paid the claim on December 12, 2016. Under the same transaction with my payment, Aetna recouped an overpayment from another patient. Bmt Emerg Medcn then sent my bill to collections. It is still there today!! They will not remove it! Aetna has sent the transaction information twice, and I have faxed the information to the collection agency and to Bmt Emerg Medcn. I ask for a supervisor to call me back every time Ive called, but they never do. I have spent over 8 hrs total on the phone over this issue. There is no one to report this to. ???

Jamie Marten Beaumont Emergency Medicine turned over my bill to Collections less than 1 month after the date of service. This was 11 days after my insurance paid their portion. We did not even get the Aetna claims summary by the time this was submitted to Collections. They did not give me a chance to call in and make payments. Is it their practice to ruin peoples credit? Now additional collection fees are added. This is the absolute poorest business practice and customer relations I have ever witnessed.

Candee Wilson I went in complaining of headache, fever, vomiting. I told the nurse and doctor that I had been exposed to 6 people at a wedding 5 days prior that all tested positive for covid. They did a CatScan and gave me Toradol for the headache, which did not even touch the pain. They did not test me for Covid. They sent me home and said I had a migraine .. after taking my insurance to the cleaners after unnecessary testing. I continued to worsen so I went to another testing facility that tested me and confirmed I did indeed have Covid . Beware of this place if you have insurance they will take them to the cleaners . I have put a call into my insurance company telling them to dispute this claim
