Polo Vera Made a new patient appointment on their website for August 31 at 1:30 PM with Dr. Maria Jirka. The office texted the next day and cancelled the appointment saying that this was not a new patient day and time even though their website said it was. They tried to reschedule to Nov 8. If this office is this disorganized with their office appointments and do not have the time for new patients (website says it is accepting new patients) then do you really want to be there. I do not recommend this place. I would rate them a zero if there was one.

Patty Abrego Have been seeing Dr. Maria Jirka for multiple PCP concerns over 6 years. She has always been professional and able to think outside the box regarding my multiple health issues from broken bones thru a complex brain surgery. As a retired RN, I can only give them the heights t of marks.

D Nicole LEsperance-Ellsworth I only go because of doctor Kumar he is amazing BUT when you consistently show up 10 to 15 minutes early for appointments, Labs especially, and wait for 30 minutes after your actual appointment time, that’s unacceptable. Means you are in the waiting area for up to 45 minutes waiting to have them draw your blood and you are starving, perfect recipe for people getting really angry. What do we the people with appointments not matter? Does our time matter less than yours? Really despise offices that permit this kind of behavior!

Patricia Rodriguez From the front desk to the answering service, everyone has been kind and professional. Dr. M Jirka has been an outstanding Physician. I have been under her care for over 10 years. NP, Ramni(probably misspelling her name) also has been great with me. They both go the extra mile for me when it comes to my health. I 100% recommend this office.

Sandra Murphy Doctor Padia is arrogant, doesnt listen and when I had the temerity to disagree with her she slammed her fist on the table next to her computer! She actually had the gall to order the test anyway that I was disagreeing with her about. I am 72, in very sound mind and I do not appreciate being treated like a slow child! Baptist Health seems only concerned about ordering tests and making money...not patient needs or desires! Pitiful. I actually had a caregiver there, Bernadette Collazo that I really liked and could talk too. Now I get informed she is gone. I tried multiple times to talk to the office.. get an answering service that will "pass the message to the doctors office "..what a joke. I guess its back searching for a decent doctor because Baptist Medical sure isnt it! By the way...rating would be -10 if there was a way to give them my true rating!!

Kaleigh E I had an appointment and have been on the same dose of my medication since June 7, 2019 without a dose change or increase, I have tried using other medications to assist that dont work. I was breathing through a panic attack and I told Dr. Oliva that I FELT that I have been dismissed regarding my anxiety and care. He responded with "So you are saying that Im not treating you? Because in my opinion Ive given you VIP treatment" while raising his voice. I stated "No, I logically know you have been treating me, weve tried many medications. I feel dismissed" to which he said "so you are saying that Im not treating you" and I said "No, logic is based on facts, and feelings are based on emotions" He responded with a very stern raised voice and said "It is essentially the same thing" then I was prescribed new medications and he terminated me as a patient. A quick google search shows how quickly people build a tolerance to controlled medication and being on the same dose for 3 years is medical negligence when Ive been complaining my meds havent been working for over a year. Honestly stay away. This was the most unprofessional experience Ive ever had and it didnt help I was already having an anxiety attack. He also will not inform you of any possible side effects of medications so do your own research on them.

Jaali Marin I’m not one to usually do reviews , but my experience at this hospital was beyond ridiculous! Only giving a one star because there’s not an option for 0! This is the absolute WORST hospital with the most HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL staff. There was only about 2-3 other patients and we waited about 5-6 hours. Nurses were beyond rude and made ridiculous and uncalled for comments. A nurse had a huge issue with my grandmother going back and forth to the bathroom not knowing cancer has caused stomach issues. She made a comment saying “she sure does use the restroom a lot” and was breathing hard making uncalled for faces. To be helped, you would have to go out and look for a nurse because they definitely don’t go check up on you. We nicely asked for a cup of water and the nurse made it seem like I was asking for a whole lot. I kept my patience and was polite the entire visit despite the service provided , and still was treated poorly. I will NEVER recommend this hospital to anyone and definitely won’t be returning.

Amy Garza My mother went in yesterday. Waited over 12 hours. She was in pain and the nurses never gave her anything. Very rude and unprofessional. Like a comment stated before it’s like you’re bothering them asking a simple question. It’s very sad that they have this type of customer service. Hopefully they get better because honestly next time we’ll just drive to San Antonio. It probably be faster and more professional!

Tara Keilmann The worst ER experience ever! Came in with abdominal pain. Received a medication that didn’t work. The nurse asked me 1 hour after giving it, if it was affective. I told her it was not. She stated I’ll let the Dr know. Over an hour later he comes in. I’m writing this while I’m waiting for pain medicine and my discharge paperwork. I will never comeback here again. Even if I’m dying I’m not coming back. This is the worst experience ever. Plus the nurses have a bedside manner of a sponge. I know because I’m a nurse. I treat patients better than this! Do better every one. The radiology tech, triage nurse and intake person were amazing.Thats the only thing this hospital did correct!

Carol YaYa Nies Triage is great but all the effort triage puts in to get patients taken care of quickly is a waste of his time. Waited over 6 hours after X-rays and still don’t have room for results to be given by the doctor. So we wait for hour in the waiting room to get results. Overflowing patients and no one comes out to check on you.

Shara Hesskew I loved the ER visit, but I loathe the office by Maverick Grill. They turned us away due to not having the copay and refused to bill us. My daughter was sick with a fever over a week, a cough, phlegm, and I had just gotten out of the ER a few weeks prior due to breathing issues and was concerned she may have had the same thing, so I wanted to get her treated before it became an emergency. I also wanted to make sure it wasn’t pneumonia since I had gotten pneumonia at the same age and my lungs have been broken since! I didn’t want the same thing to happen to her. I was broke and could not afford it until I got paid. They refused. I called and they said Bianca Perez, the manager, would not allow unless at least half was paid. There was a sick child in need of assistance in avoiding a situation before it potentially became an emergency and they did not care. Heartless monster!! We are changing doctors and never returning to that facility! How can anyone turn away a sick child?! DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mayra Garza I want to share how incredible the care has been for my dad during his stay. His Nurse/PCA, Christiana, has been an absolute blessing. From the moment we arrived, she was not only professional and knowledgeable, but also so kind and compassionate. Her positive attitude and attentive care truly lifted everyone’s spirits. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her patients and their families. We’re so grateful for the kindness and dedication she showed us during such a challenging time. Thank you for everything Christiana!

Valerie Perez My nephew was in ICU, he is now in PCU. The staff in both of these areas have gone above and beyond. I have nothing but respect for these nurses & staff. Im actually in awe. How comfortable we feel to know he is being well taken care of. Also the rooms are immaculately clean & this is an old hospital. Another thumbs up ! Its very rare that you get one on one sincere service in a hospital honestly. Many of mankind has become disengaged somewhat with their patients and just do their job minimally. Thank you so much Northeast Baptist Hospital for taking care of my nephew, it will not be forgotten nor ever unnoticed.

Lisa Ellow I wouldn’t even give them 1 star.I was working at my nursing home when the ambulance were called because my blood pressure was so high Because I had extremely bad pains in my pelvic area that has been going on for a while it got extremely bad yesterday. The ambulance took me straight to the waiting room and crying in tears. No one comes and gets me or checks on me in the waiting room for about an hour and a half from there I get a room. I’m waiting in there for two hours before somebody comes.Crying to my daughter on the phone in pain Telling her I will never come here again no one even came to talk to me about anything. The nurse overhears. It runs in and says somebody will be right with me.I said I can’t take this pain can I have Ibuprofen or anything he said no. Two hours later the doctor Comes in and said they were gonna do CT. I’ve had the same issue at north east Methodist. And they treated me right away And when I was in pain with a cyst on my ovary they got me right in and gave me medicine. Then a nurse told me to go to another room for my CT. I left my room. And went to another room where they told me to go this lady in there thought it was waiting to see the doctor Told me this is a horrible hospital. While I was waiting in the room for a good hour and a half A nurse came in and asked me my name and said you’re supposed to be going for a CT I said yes, He said oh you were supposed to wait in your room for them to come get you. They’ve been looking for you. I said well the nurse told me to come in this room. The nurse told me it happens all the time. They send people to the wrong rooms so basically I was in the hospital all day and all night. I will always go back to Methodist. The only reason why I came to Baptist because it was near my job and The ambulance had to take me to the closest one. Please don’t go here for anything!!!!

J. A. Sp Have seen Dr. Uy for over 10 years. The doctor is excellent, good patient bedside manner and knowledgeable. However, the visits are entirely ruined by dealing with the staff from the front desk, billing staff and office administrator. They either lack skill sets for manners, administrative sense or they just dont care and for whatever issue, it is not them its you. Its all nicely packaged in a rude and indifferent manner. This practice has really gone from bad to worse over the years and seems to be struggling. Maybe they just need better staff.

Unificial Time Most messages sent by patient on the online portal regarding refills/test results receive no response. Even the VOICEMAIL SYSTEM is only operational during "business hours," which are 8-noon and 1:30-4 M-F (32 1/2 hours per week).

Sam Jolies What other reviewers have stated is correct. The front desk staff are rude and incompetent. I would call them airheads but their ineptitude seems intentional and malicious. I’d rather drive 30 minutes north than deal with these ugly hags.

Kevin Moore Dr. Uy is awesome! My only problem with the practice is its distance from my home. The staff is always friendly and I have not encountered the issues that others have stated. I think I had one small problem with a prescription, but the staff fixed it immediately. I would recommend with no hesitation.

Jeff If I could give negative stars I would. I got tested and it said I had a hyperactive thyroid. I went in and they looked at a test I had done 3 week prior and Dr Baquero probably wrong spelling tells me oh its not to bad you should be good. I then proceeded to go through my symptoms and she tells me oh then I have it for sure. Puts me on restrictions. Tells me she is taking a test to make sure its not graves first. Proceeds to have me take the same test I did 3 weeks earlier. This time my test came back .01 lower and they call and cancel my appointment and telling my its not the thyroid even though the test still shows me out of range and I still have bad symptoms. This place is dangerous please go somewhere that actually cares about your health. I am so happy I would not let this place touch my diabetes I would probably be in a hospital right now. EDIT: Found a new Endo and on day 1 showed them everything and they put me on medication and Im almost fully healthy again. Stay far far far away from this place the doctors will get you killed. New Place: Diabetes & Glandular Disease. Go to them and help yourself.

Mike Cook Charlatans! Deer Oaks is contracted by nursing homes purely to medicate residents in nursing homes & they don’t even do it responsibly, unless you are familiar with your rights. The past four years, my observation of Deer Oaks is that they are only around to keep tabs on us. A few conversations I had with a few Deer Oaks reps left me with the notion that they will only enable someone’s behavior, regardless if they are confused/deluded. They aren’t here to help people come back to reality & I feel that an investigation into Deer Oaks is strongly merited.

A123 CAM Absolute dumpster fire of a health services provider. My municipality changed over to Deer Oaks a few months ago, was totally disconnected from all previous counseling and services. two months later, despite living in 2023, having email, phone, text, sms, etc., still waiting on them to "find" my providers name or assign me a new one. Zero attempt at follow up or outreach. I spoke to someone who sounded like she was in her living room babysitting 10 kids. This company is a total for profit joke and not a sincere organization looking to help anyone do anything but get the run around. Therell be a report on 60 Minutes on these clowns somewhere down the line.

Alicia Beckham Unacceptable service. They have to be thee slowest EAP Service providers in San Antonio,TX if not the State or the Country. It may be there is not enough staff to assist with the number of calls received. I have used there service for legal, financial, and behavioral health. I used the referral services for the legal at least twice I did not receive a call back from a legal time. I had to call back. The financial services went very smooth. And the Behavioral Health Services Department is just as slow as the Legal Department. Customer service is great but the company needs to reassess its timing that is provided to its customers. I will definitely be providing feedback to my organization.

Fonz rm Dr bell disregarded my concerns and made me feel like my health issues were not important. • Lack of attentiveness • dismissive attitude • no treatment plan Felt like the consultation was rushed, barely listen to my symptoms and offered no explanation. He should probably hang up his stethoscope.

Emily Calderon PA James Bell made me feel like a joke at my appointment. Hearing him laugh about me to his nurse outside the door made me feel so stupid. I wasted my time just for him to tell me to “eat healthy” then laugh at me as if I was a burden. I ended up breaking down in tears cause of how terrible he made me feel.

Samantha I do not understand how this office has the reviews it has. Everything was smooth for me, from checking in, seeing the Dr, and checking out. I got lab work done as well. And the wait time to see the doctor and to get labs wasn’t bad at all. The nurses were great and when I tell you Dr. Carmichael was amazing, I would recommend her so much. My last visit with a medical office left me to the point where I was ready to never see a doctor again (it’s crazy that they have better reviews than this office because what!?) but she actually was so patient, kind, and listened to what I had to say in regards to my body. I’m so happy to have found this practice!!

Khoi Phan PA Carmichael told me to schedule a follow up with him for my recovery of pneumonia. I received a call today at 3pm, the day before my appointment and I was told my "annual physical check up appointment" will be cancelled because he is unavailable. When I told the lady it was not for physical but for pneumonia, she was surprised but still told me it will have to be rescheduled or I can go to Urgent care. I told her the rescheduled time would not work for me and she proceeded to say "I dont think you heard me the first time, he is not available". Well, he was available 2 weeks ago when I scheduled and obviously since it showed up as "physical check up" and not "pneumonia", it was not important for him to see me the day before July 4th and they didnt care to even call me sooner than 3pm the day before. I had to request time off for the appointment and now I lose it for nothing. And then I has to listen to this lady condescending tone. It seems nobody in that office was trained about professionalism but hey, thats the Baptists gold standard. So if you are considering this place, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They dont care about your wellness and their customer service talks to you like you are a beggar, that you have to beg for them to see you. Since they are so "heavenly high class" to care for my pneumonia, I will move all my family members to another primary care.

Alyssa Wallace I’m sorry to have seen such low reviews for this office. I personally had such a good first experience. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming. My physician was great. Roxana Sosa The front office nurses for scheduling are not very friendly. I hope they find new people who actually love interacting with people as a job.

name s This clinic offers very poor service, several years ago, before the pandemic, even though the front desk was questionable, the great doctors and nurses made it worth it. But after the pandemic, even the medical personnel hasnt been the best, I used to take my 4 kids at this clinic first, one of them with special needs, and the pediatricians lack of basic knowledge made me switch my kid to special needs to The MAC clinic, but I made the mistake to leave my neurotypical kids at childrens clinic and it has been a nightmare, I had been waiting for almost 6 weeks for the doctor/staff to fill up a medical release form that one of my kids needs for sports, called more than 10 times regarding this matter, countless time they told me someone will call me back and of course no one ever does, and i still dont have something as simple as a medical release. To make matters worse, I currently have a kid with a broken bone and need to see the pediatrician to get a referral for an orthopedic doctor, they have been unable to make the appointment because they have no access to the calendar. Someone was supposed to call me back 3 days ago, well guess what? No one did! And here I am calling them back with currently 35 minutes of time on the phone and counting...

Lisa Lopez My review is based off the nurses and wait time. Dr Bruyere is the best pediatrician in town, sadly the wait here is not worth it. Today was my 3rd time at this location and very disappointed it was with another dr. My sons appointment was at 1:30pm I arrived at 1:35pm got called into the back for vitals at 2:01pm asked the nurse if this is the normal wait time and she tried using the excuse of many patients that’s why and I responded that this is the 3rd time I’ve came here and it’s been the same wait time and she said oh well yeah…. Umm what?? We then got into our room at 2:06pm. Dr Jaime long entered the room at 2:31pm! She was finished at 2:54pm, stated she would be right back to check with some other doctors (she was a second year resident). She came back at 3:07pm to refer me to another dr for some reason I would not like to disclose here and to tell me they have no record of vaccines for my son in January!! Are you kidding me?!! I went to their location in January saw dr bruyere and waited 2 1/2 hours there and I clearly remember he had his vaccines. Thank goodness I like to take pics and have evidence of his thighs with bandaids from the vaccines. I will be calling tomorrow to complain about that and hopefully they can fix their mistake because of their irresponsible nurses my son should not be punished with vaccines he’s already had smh!! Unfortunately I found this information after I was home which is why I didn’t say anything then and there. Anyways she left and said they would be in with the vaccines. At 3:14pm I was very frustrated my kids were frustrated and tired, the room started getting hot so I opened the door. The ladies across the room from me asked everything was ok I said it’s hot in here but I’m sure they can see I was very frustrated so they went to get a update for me on the vaccines. At 3:46pm the nurse came in to tell me the vaccine was out of stock that I can schedule another appointment with their nurses that way he doesn’t have to see a doctor and only get the vaccine for my son. I was in utter disbelief! Almost 2 1/2 hours just to be told my son is not getting his vaccines because it’s out of stock?!! You think they would check their damn inventory if they’re booking children everyday that may need them?! Again I love dr bruyere for my boys but I will be going back to the previous clinic we were at before. The longest we’ve taken there is 1hr which I will gladly take over any day. And tomorrow if they can not resolve my issue with the vaccines I will be reporting them to the Texas medical board. Update: Yesterday 05/21 I was able to speak to Norma the manager and get everything situated. First she said around that time they were having system problems that vaccines weren’t updating in the system then the dr did not close his notes which is why his vaccines were not showing (not sure how that would affect it) then she called me back stating they didn’t have a immtrac form signed by me (pretty sure I signed it when I first moved here) either way I appreciate Norma taking the time to look over it and get his vaccines up to date. It’s just a shame that it’s been 4 months and if I didn’t speak up about it my poor son would have gotten vaccines he’s already had.

Justice Justice I have had a good relationship with the doctors here but the office staff and scheduling is a nightmare. If your child needs to see the doctor good luck getting an appointment that isn’t 2 months out. We missed our appointment because I had a new baby! I tried to call to reschedule and was told they have nothing until December and they aren’t even scheduling for that month yet. I told the lady on the phone that my daughter is overdue to see cardiology and they need a new referral and she just repeated that they have nothing. My daughter is a cardiac kid and I requested to be seen back in JUNE for a new referral to cardiology. Edited to add- I called again today (6 days later) and was told they still have not opened the schedule to schedule appointments. When asked when it should open she said she did not know. At this point I give up. I’m taking my child to Centro med pediatrics. They will get us in next week.

Brittany Leigh Today was the final convincing that I need to switch clinics. Ive been trying all week to fax over forms for a new formula prescription. While I get confirmation after confirmation on my end, they never seem to receive my faxes. Ive been told they use an "electronic fax" that is inaccessible and uncheckable. They just basically wait (and hope) that the electronic fax system "reads" the fax (handwritten or otherwise) and itself transfers the forms to the correct patients folder. And it takes 3 hours for them to know if this even happened.. if it even happens. This is all to say that Ive never had a good experience with the office staff. They are generally unfriendly, and it takes forever to get a call thru. The office waits are extremely long, and they did away with the walk-in clinic, which to me was one of its few perks. Now I will say Ive never had an issue with their doctors or residents. We had Dr Jeremy Stewart and he was amazing. Unfortunately, this being a residency program, he is on to bigger and better things. Which I now realize is my other reason to switch--for all the amazing resident doctors working here, they too will move on, and over the years Ill be perpetually rotating thru doctors, instead of sticking with ones weve come to trust and appreciate.

Roger C I am a heart patient and I am often sick. My cardiologist comes to this location so I come here. It is hard to relax, sleep and be calm because the nurses and staff are so loud at all hours of the day and night. They have no concern about the patients being able to rest in a peaceful environment. Its as loud as a elementary playground full of kids only the noise here is coming from hospital staff thats having too much fun. Its always like this. You bring it up to the nurses but nothing is ever done. This shows poor Leadership, lack of concern and respect for patients. Something needs to be done.

George Frantz Security Guards have no respect. You cant have a conversation with your family because start thinks that they have a right to cut you off and put their opinion in when your trying to say something to your family member. Then they call security then security follows you outside and calls cops on you even though you left without being asked.
