Scott Walters Was treated in the ER on December 29, 2024, after being nailed in the foot by a large stingray - excruciatingly painful! The intake was quick and professional, an EMT checked me out as I was getting in-processed, and they called me back to a room almost immediately. Marlene was my nurse; she was a real sweetheart -- professional but compassionate, too. X-ray tech was sharp; he brought the machine to me, which was great. Dewayne was also great, another great guy and former Navy (Im retired Army). I didnt catch the name of the guy who did all the consent paperwork, but he was also retired Navy and a fantastic guy! The provider who saw me was also very sharp. Hope to never step on a stingray again in Corpus, but if I do, Im going back to the same spot! I could add some photos of the puncture wounds, but it may gross folks out, so Ill hold off on that. Scott Walters

Gina Gonzalez My dad is currently at this hospital, there is too much to say on this review. If I could I would have him moved to another hospital, they rush things without your knowledge, will call you at the time of the procedure leaving you confused and unprepared. My dad had open heart surgery on 10/09 then on 10/23 he got a major stroke leaving him unresponsive not able to talk or eat while in the same hospital, in which he was about to get discharged. Now they are in a rush to do a G Tube to get him out of there. Talking about different nurses and doctors, not knowing the patient. I had to even let them know information about my father. It has been a frustrating and very very sad situation. I wouldnt even give them a one star. I can not wait until they mail me the review on paper because they are getting bad reviews on all the criteria, in which I know they could careless. Its a business, the patient doesnt matter nor our feelings. My dad is not ready to leave and they already talking about discharging him, very sad!

Karen Buckner I was admitted to the hospital on 1/8/25. I spent the first 2 days in the ER, then was admitted to a room until 1/13/25. The staff on the 5th floor was attentive, and I seriously believe that they saved my life. I had acute pneumonia with respiratory failure and probably been dead in another 12 hours. I felt very taken care of. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, therapists, and staff for being there for me.

Suryta Laqua Everyone who attended to my elderly Dad was Awesome!!!! Every team member took time to explain what was happening and what needed to be done to get him better. As a Daddys girl, I am very pleased with the ALL the care he received. Kindness goes a long way. Every staff member from the cleaning crew, dietary, nursing staff, Doctors, PT, OT, Cardiac care, Radiology are very professional, caring, kind, and attentive to his needs and the reassurance our family needed.

Rachael Martinez Most of the staff was friendly and as helpful as they probably could be. I have gone to the er here 4 times over a 2 month period, with different and worsening symptoms. At first I was throwing up constantly and couldn’t keep anything down. After 2 months (and I was seeing my pcp, but waiting for appointments and referrals, etc) I was extremely dizzy, having trouble walking on my own, and I was afraid to go back home because I literally felt like I was dying. It kept getting sent home. There were a few providers who were extremely rude, basically telling me that I was lying, or that my symptoms weren’t real. The last time I went in I was having NEW hearing and vision issues, which I had never had before, along with constant vomiting, I hasn’t been sore to keep food down properly for months, difficult walking due to extreme dizziness. I got sent home again. At this point I didn’t know how long I would survive, things had gotten very serious. Soon after that, I lost my ability to walk or stand at all, and called an ambulance. They took me to a different hospital where I was IMMEDIATELY admitted, and ended up staying for over a week while I was being tested and treated. Thank God I went to the other hospital finally, because Christus Spohn Shoreline was fully ready to just let me die at home.
